It's sad to read some of these reviews because it seems like much of it is hate mail for not simply understanding what the Hairclub purpose is, to make you look good and feel good. Many of the people that are customers are people with cancer and various other issues that they have lost their hair. Imagine that, what do you do ? Having a new and styled head of hair placed on your head by a professional gives you the boost of confidence to face the world on your terms and it's a good thing. When you start losing your hair for whatever reason, you can either shave your head (and some of us don't look normal bald ) or come to the Hairclub to help your self confidence. I've seen the faces of young and old leave with a new head of hair feeling 100% better than when they arrived. I've been coming here for years and have enjoyed the staff and the professional stylists that take a personal interests in you looking better. No one does what they do and as good as they do it. I didn't get an xstrands experience ! More a half wig held on by some adhesive tape lathered with adhesive glue to keep it cemented in place so 6 weeks later the salon had a problem unglueing the hair and the solvent used even burnt my kneck and shoulder area . My own hair looked weak and broken under my own cornrows, which normally grows. But after the hair wash they reattached the same wig and pushed it even further down the the front of my scalp with the adhesive tape This hair style buckled within a week but they couldn't get me in to correct the problem. So wow I was taken aback by the baldness that ensured within a 6 week visit after the adhesive tape was removed . My baby hairs and front hair line was ripped off and the salon itself had a problem removing the solvent from the wig they had attached and I don't know how leading experts in the hair industry could push products that are dangerous to one's hair their own hair and well-being like that ... Ahhhhhhhh why not say you can't do African American hair or black hair . The Hair Club diagnosed something that was never there, because they only wanted business. I learned the hard way and lost a lot of money. I now know they took advantage of my eagerness to find a solution for something I thought I had. The person in Toronto that allegedly assessed me just told me what I wanted to hear. Consult your MD, as there's no way beauty-salon ladies who sell themselves as "experts" with basic training at best will be in a position to diagnose what proper dermatologists do. Your health comes first and you should not be taken advantage of, just because you're in a situation where you crave help and advice and you ignore a lot of things. The service at their premises was terrible, a lot worse than in a regular salon. If I were a lawyer I would have sued them but I learned my lesson and now I understand how I lost not only money but all my trust in places like this. BTW, if they sell you this laser (which is really the only thing they offer different from expensive hair salons) you are better off buying a cap, which won't be overpriced in eBay or Amazon, and going the healthy way with vitamins and such. If that doesn't help, it won't harm you, and you will save thousands. read more

I don't usually write negative reviews, but my experience with this company was so disappointing that I felt it necessary to share. I'm a student living on loans, and I decided to save up to address my insecurity about my thin hair by getting a hairpiece. After researching, I chose this company, which claims to be the "#1 in the US." Unfortunately, my experience was far from what they promised. During my online consultation with the manager, Yvette, I explained how much this meant to me and how important it was that everything went well. She was very nice at first and made several assurances, including: 1. The hairpiece would boost my confidence (it didn't; it made me feel worse). 2. The hairpiece would last at least four weeks (it barely lasted a week). 3. I'd get the exact haircut I wanted (the haircut was awful). 4. They'd also work on my beard (they didn't). When I went in, the hairpiece didn't match my hair color or texture, and the haircut was completely wrong. I was so upset that I asked them to remove it immediately, but they refused and insisted I "try it for 24 hours." Desperate, I asked a friend who's a hairstylist to fix it the same day to make it slightly better. I decided to request a refund within 24 hours, as the contract allowed, but they refused. Despite months of trying, I never received a refund. I was charged $1,700 for a hairpiece that didn't meet any of my expectations. To make matters worse, Yvette, who had initially been so kind, became rude and claimed she wasn't responsible for anything she said during the consultation. She even told me to speak to their lawyer. An employee admitted the service was poor and that I deserved a refund, but nothing changed. That employee ended up quitting because they couldn't stand working for such an unprofessional company. Please, save yourself the stress and money--don't work with this company. They make promises they don't keep, deliver subpar results, and treat you poorly if you voice your concerns. The 18 month supply is normally a $5000+ program. 12 months is $3000+. The capillary hat is $2000+ for the best one, $400ish+ for the worst one. When this was explained to us, the male agent said that color was included, it wasn't until the first appointment that we were told that it was an extra service that would be $95 highlights, only thing included is the hair cut. We were told that it could be done (color) at the appointment, at our first appointment we were told you want to wait minimum two weeks to color hair. There was also no explanation as to what the total price would be after financing interest (an approximate additional $400 - this was noticed early on during the consultation, but just bringing it up. Your total price will be dependent on credit) For what you're paying, the explanation of the contract & what is included and what is an extra is not great. Read through the entire contract before deciding to sign, don't rely on the explanation. Salespeople. We are holding out hope that the program works, and if it does than I'd like to update the review. But honestly awful foot to start out on and I would not recommend without results first. read more

I was told the records did not show that the hair I sent out for repair in March of 2023 had never returned. One year later !!!! Although my stylist continually checked to see if it had been returned and it was in the system they will not honor my request. Not even offering any type of partial reimbursement !!!! I have been a loyal customer for 8 years here in Fl and previous to that in Ct. I stayed with the company throughout the covid shut down and would think that HC international would have some understanding for its customers. I am highly disappointed that the corporate office is not able to accommodate my request for reimbursement of a $370.00 hair piece that I bought and paid for but never had the opportunity to use ... This is not fair to treat a loyal customer, I'm moving out of state and there are no HC in the area I'm moving to otherwise I would have stayed with the company.... I have been looking for a solution for my hair for years. I found Hair Club online and made an appointment. I went into the Orange location and was greeted by a friendly receptionist that made me feel at ease. I then met with Cara who helped me understand why I was losing my hair. I ended up getting a their Xtrands Plus solution and I can't tell you how it has changed my life. The staff there is amazing and I always leave feeling beautiful. Alex is an amazing stylist and the management team, Christy and Susie are always checking in to make sure I'm satisfied. I wish had found them years ago. A TOTAL SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband went in for a free consultation... When they gave him the forms to see if he "qualified" for financing, while he was in the consult, they also signed him up for the program. As he learned more through the consult, he learned this was just a crappy toupee, and did not want to do it. Thinking all he did was a credit check, we later found out he was in fact paying for the program when we received the first bill. When he called to cancel and have things reversed, they would not cancel this b.s. scam of a program, that he is not even using. Be warned, this company is completely dishonorable and shady, not even worth one star. I was shocked when I read the reviews about hair club for men that have been previously entered on yelp. I have been a hair club member for about 2 1/2 years now and I could not be more happy with the service that they have provided me. I was terrified when I began the process because I did not know how my hair would feel and more importantly what it it would look like and what would people say that have known me for years. I was blown away by the results. At first people would ask have you got your teeth fixed or did you have a facelift or "what did you do to yourself You look amazing". Of course over I had the confidence to tell people about my newly found secret. Without exception the response I would get his OMG that looks so natural. I go in once a week and meet with my hairstylist Sheena who is probably the nicest human being on the planet and while she does her magic to my hair we laugh and joke about everything under the sun. Each session is less than an hour and their local Orange office is less than 10 minutes from my office. If price is an issue they have several different plans and the cost depends on how often you go in for appointments with your stylist and how often you get new hair. For me this was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life regarding my physical appearance. Having you here makes you look younger and it makes me want to stay in shape more than ever before. I would strongly recommend HCM if you are serious about wanting to improve your appearance. Of course this is not going to be for everybody who is not willing to take a gamble and invest the time and money to make this work. However for me it was a game changer. read more

This review is about the XStrands service that Hair Club provides. DO NOT DO IT. Its awesome at first because you actually have hair and fullness in places you never thought that you would again. BUT, the procedure pulls out your hair. Someone could argue that of course over time I would have continued to lose more hair (I've been doing the Strands for 5 years). However, you don't lose hair in neat square chunks. That is what I now have. I went from thinning hair to 80% bald in the front of my scalp. It became so bad that there was barely any hair to attach the strands to. This review has nothing to do with the facility itself. The stylist that I work with is wonderful. This review is about the XStrands process alone. I never write reviews, but it's painful to think that someone would pay almost $500 per month and feel like they are doing something awesome, until the honeymoon is over and realize they have done irrevocable damage. Susie Brown, the client relationship manager is phenomenal. I wasn't going to get my system (with the new technology) in time for my appointment. I expressed my concern and disappointment with Susie, and she said she would look into it. Within 30 minutes she called me back to let me know she spoke to the corporate office and assured me my system would be there in time for my appointment. Unlike a lot of companies, HCM is well represented with Susie at the helm. She understands the importance of customers like me and how we rely on HCM to help us look our best. read more

I was a member for Hair Club 431 South Batavia Suit 201 in orange county. I had a membership with them for about 3 years I had a membership which was the platinum. In January of 2020 I cancelled my membership due to bad service from an office personnel and manager. They have good professional Stylists as well as bad Stylists. One day I had a bad experience, a stylist who wasn't my regular Stylist was applying a new hair prosthesis on me and he had a hard time putting the hair on me. It took him 3 times to apply the hair my scalp was very irritated and in pain. This took 3 hours of him trying to apply my hair all for him to tell me to come back the next day. I'm upset because I was told my regular Stylist wasn't working that day but when I came in to my appointment I saw him working. All this could've been avoided If they didn't change my regular Stylist, this isn't the first time that this happens. I find this very unprofessional read more

I took my son for a consultation on January 5th. Initially, I agreed to the treatment and applied for GreenSky Credit. I was told that I would not be charged until he received the first treatment. However, I returned on January 7th to cancel the service, which was within the refund/cancellation period. The representative was very nice and we proceeded with signing the necessary forms to cancel. When that was completed, she proceeded with a thank you and began to walk away with the forms. I then asked her if for a copy of the forms and she said that their copier was having issues. I asked if I could take a picture of the forms and she was ok with that. She stated that I would receive scanned copies of the forms via email. I never received those forms and received a statement from Green Sky. I am currently in the process of dealing with the dispute. I have had to deal with corporate and Green Sky to no avail. The Green rep actually suggested that I make the make up! This is ridiculous..... read more

Hair Club does AMAZING things for children who loose their hair due to medical conditions. I was VERY wary at first when I heard from a support group (dealing with the condition my daughter is afflicted with) that the services provided by Men's Hair Club were completely free and philanthropic. From the moment I called the 800# call center to the moment we left the office, we were treated with professionalism and kindness. I had a wonderful & informative call that gave me hope with a gal named JoJo at the call center .Then when I called the Orange Office, I spoke with Marisol who was able to get my daughter an appointment in less than a week's time. Our appointment was with Annie who was super sweet and again very helpful and hopeful. This is a truly wonderful gift that Men's Hair Club gives to boys and girls suffering from medical conditions that cause hair loss. My babygirl left the office with a pep in her step and a gleam in her eye. I am very thankful they offer this service as I would probably not be able to afford this on my own. Hair Club for Men In Orange - I've been a club member for over 10 years, my visits there are always the best part of my day! Last time, I was running late for my 1:00 pm appt. I was stuck in traffic and totally stressing out, I was flying out the next day. The receptionist said not to worry, just get there when I could, drive safely. She said they were fully booked but if I didn't mind waiting, they would figure something out. I got there 2 hrs after my appoitment time, they still took care of me. Two different stylists worked on my hair, I left looking great and they made me feel like an important client. There aren't many salons where you can go in late for your Saturday appt. and they will still see you and still make you feel important. I love this place. read more

If I could give zero stars I would but you have to leave at least one. I do not recommend walking in the doors of HC after my recent experience with a consultant by the name of Christine Fleisher. I am a cancer survivor and I was thinking of signing up with HC because my hair has come back so thin since chemo ended in 2012. If you suffer from hair loss, you know how hard it can be, especially for a woman. My consultation was with Christine and I have to say that it was a horrible experience because she was more interested in selling me as a lifetime member then doing what was right for me. She brought back old emotions and wounds of losing my hair for the first time because of her total insensitivity to my situation. Right off the bat she told me my hair follicles were dead and would never come back. I don't think she is a medical doctor and can really say something like that but she thinks since she has been with HC for ten years that she knows what a doctor can only tell me. It doesn't matter what her experience is, her approach was wrong and cold and like I said before she was only interested in helping herself my making me a lifetime client.
