I hate leaving bad reviews but this one had to be done. I first contacted diva salon looking for someone who knew how to work with curls and blonde hair. It had amazing reviews especially with the stylist Gustavo. The first time I went in I asked for more blonde and he did a balayage job which was okay but wasn't really blonde. Not a big deal I reached out a bit late on my part but also the salon is 1.5 hours from me and I really needed time to see if the color was what I wanted. When we talked about fixing it I was not told I would be charged- but I was happy to pay because I understand he used his time. The first photo was what I asked for. The second is what i got. It was completely not what I asked for and overtoned with gray ends. As I was walking out of the salon I asked if the gray would go away... they're response "what gray?" When my hair was clearly gray... coming home my roommates mentioned the gray right away. The fix he made came out SUPER gray. No blonde. My hair is super thin and so many treatments are bad for it, so I reached out this time with less than a week of time that went by. I was told that it looked good... which was not the point, it was just not what I asked for. I reached out and further explained and quite literally got left on read. Terrible service, no response, no one to help. I was charged $250 for the original color and then $80 to fix it lmao so now I'm down $330- with gray hair and no help from them. Super upset and this was clearly expressed yet I was left on read, please reach out to me if you want me to show the response and what was said happy to share and avoid someone else paying that much and being unhappy. With that amount spent I could have to Gene Juarez or anywhere else. The biggest reason I'm leaving this review is due to the LACK of response and help with what occurred. Instead of admitting it and helping me with it, he went on taking it as me insulting his work. This review is long over due. It's for Daisy. In October 2021 I got mixed texture spiral perm. I've got many perms before but this was by far more beautiful curls than all my previous perms. I've been contemplating on whether or not I wanted to post this review. My stylist was nice but my haircut was horrible. The only reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because my stylist was nice and they still took me close to closing time. I'm typically a really really easy client. If something doesn't come out exactly like how I want it, I'm ok with it as long as it's still nice. So for me to write a bad review means something. I've been wearing extensions for quite some time now and I rarely ever EVER get my hair cut. But I decided to finally do it to blend in my extensions a bit more. I told her I just wanted to do a bit of layering in the front to somewhat match my real hair ( my natural is kinda short ) so I was ok with a bit of disconnect as long as it blended in A BIT better. I basically walked out with my bangs shorter (which I didn't ask for and now it doesn't even tie up in a ponytail) and layers that are super choppy and uneven. It was so bad that I had my hair up in a ponytail for a week and finally decided to take out of my track. Now my extensions are about 6 inches shorter then what it originally was. Would I come back? No. I'm actually really upset that I JUST bought new extensions and spent 200+ on them just to have it chopped off unevenly. read more

I trusted her judgment at the first consultation when I knew she wasn't trying to scam me and charge full price right away. She charges per session and is typically 4-6 weeks in between so it was a great payment plan and she explained everything very thoroughly. Kendy is by far the best hairdresser I've ever had. For years I've tried to pull off blonde hair on my naturally dark brown hair and many people do not have the patience that Kendy has for hair. I contacted her on there to ask for rates + set up an appointment. Day of appointment! (Today) The salon is located in the far left corner of the shopping plaza on MacArthur and Fairview. Plenty of parking in front. When I arrived, I was greeted by Maria and was led to my seat. Long story short, she did an amazing job. She was super sweet, accommodating, always asking if I needed water and checked if I was okay and comfortable. She was also really easy to talk to. Not to mention the rates were unbelievable! For a double process root touch up, hair cut, + all over color, it costed me LESS than what it would have been if I got ONLY my roots done at my previous stylist. Overall, I think I found my new stylist since for those who are friends with me on Yelp + in person know I'm always coloring my hair some bright color and I'm never just blonde for long. Nazila was the best! It was my first time getting my eyebrows done and she even prepared me by telling me "threading hurts but I'll do it fast". She delivered and I'm absolutely loving the shape of my brows and the tint color is perfect. Not too dark, not too light. Just perfect. She also cleaned up the baby hair I have on my forehead and it's so cleaned that I can see the line/shadow where my hair and face meet. She also cleaned up my upper lips with threading and she did it in less than a minute. She was quick, efficient and she knows what's she doing. read more

I've tried some other brow wax places in the area that charge way more ($30 or so) and honestly none have done much better than Tam. Maybe you don't get that super fancy salon experience at Diva Salon, but at the end of the day all I really care about when I walk out is what my brows look like and Tam is amazing. She's meticulous and if you are trying to grow your brows out or reshape them she explains what she does so you understand the direction she's taking even though the growing out/shaping process will take more than a couple of appointments to get the desired result. On top of that she is just so sweet and personable. I've learned my lesson and never going to anyone else as long as I live close enough to Tam. Note: I know most brow experts don't ever ask, but if you're using a high potency retinol or AHA/BHA exfoliants, you'll wanna wait a week after last using these products to get your brows waxed. Luckily, Mary Ma formerly of the Haircutters and Planet Beauty is back and better than ever. She is a rare gem that takes the time to wash your hair before and after the cut. It takes about 30-40 mins for the full process depending on how much hair you need removed but you walk away with a perfect cut every time. She will work with you to find a consistent haircut that can be replicated over and over again and easy to maintain. And for only $20!!! COME ON!!! I tip her $10 because she always finds time to fit me in on short notice and I honestly feel like I'm under paying for the quality of haircut.
