Customer service is really bad. Came here with my husband and my son for their hair cut. The lady was really rude. She is really dismissive on every questions that I asked. I asked her to trim my son's hair but she cut it too short and uneven in the front. My son was traumatized on his experience here and doesn't want to go to any barber now. I wouldn't come here again. If I could give 0 stars I would. Don't waste your money. read more

I was looking for places to get my hair done last minute the day before my birthday and I looked through Yelp to see which places were still opened late. I had called Tracy and she asked me to come in so that she could see my hair and price it. I was so happy that she was able to take me in so last minute and she worked very well in explaining what she would be doing to my hair and took her time to perfect my hair. I wanted a change in my hairstyle and the last time I had colored my hair was two years ago. She was able to bring my boring hair to life with my new hairstyle. She stayed very late just to do my hair and bring me happiness before my birthday. This whole process took about 5 and a half hours and she was very patient and took a lot of attention to detail. She was able to look at a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like and bring it to life! You should come to see Tracy because she is the BEST! read more

I'm giving her a relatively high rating because she did a great job on the boy who was in there right before me, but I probably won't come back here again. I was looking for a place where I could get my haircut for cheaper (I've been going to a salon, but it's getting pretty pricey), so I decided to check this place out. I have thick, course, long Asian hair and although Tawnee thinned it out like I asked, she thinned it out way too much. First off, she started flat ironing my hair right away as she cut, which I never like for hairstylists to do, because that's not the way I normally wear my hair (I'm super low maintenance- brush and go!) She cut it so that if I part my hair even a little differently, I have super short hairs sticking up from underneath... my long layers on top are basically hiding all the hair she chopped off under. It looks ok, but I don't like it, and I'm not sure how the layers will grow out... So if you're looking for someone to cut layers, or basically a hairstyle that is not masculine, I would say, look elsewhere... read more

Came here on a whim just to pass some time. Didn't expect to leave with a more than average haircut but the hairstylist really took her time and went beyond my expectations. Super happy by the haircut I received today. Tracy is awesome. Visiting from Washington for a few weeks, I needed a haircut. A family member recommended this place for the convenient location (around the corner of Best Buy in Honolulu), good haircut, and value. Men's haircut is ~$15 and ~$18 with shampoo. Tracy is very friendly and knows what you want. The one thing that deserves 5-stars is that she really cared about the symmetry of my hair, always comparing the sides since it's very short. That level of care is hard to come by as most try to churn you out of the chair as quickly as possible for that price. Speaking of chair- that large chair was comfortable! It's a beast made for comfort. Otherwise, great location and ample parking. I will definitely return as a customer and recommend this location to anyone. read more

Rushed the haircut and was not speaking clearly. The hair on the top of my head is now uneven and it doesn't match the shape of my face. My hairline was also pushed back. My family and I were having lunch over at eagle cafe yesterday afternoon. During lunch my wife tells me you need a hair cut , I reply okay let's go after we're done here. As we was walking back too are vehicle I notice a salon ( hairstyles by twanee ) First thing I notice was how clean and organized it was, not like most shops. The stylist ( Tracy ) Greeted us with a warm welcome " I'll be with you guys shortly" We waited about 10 mins till she was done with her other client , then it was my turn. She asked me how'd you like your hair styled today, I said 6 top skin side medium fade, She went to work. After she was done, it's was exactly what I wanted. Great stylist great shop friendly staff. Just calling this place already gave me a bad impression. They close around 7 and when I wanted to schedule a 6:00 appointment the receptionist was already mumbling and groaning pretty loud over the phone and trying to fit me into a 5:00-5:15 appointment even though I told her I work until 530. Don't wanna get my haircut from someone who doesn't want the customer to be there around the time they scheduled. read more

Twanee has always exceeded my expectations. I pay her more than i should, shes that good. Always available, even at closing ... she had helped me even after hours she took the time to still cut my hair. I recommend her to anyone seeking a professional who doesnt falter. To the lady who had commented about her and her son. I hope you know that we all heard about u. You brang your son to twanee with out warning her. So your review is not even worth looking at. Appointments preferred here. We walked in and the wait was 2 hours. The stylist Tracy was tge only one working and she was really good with my young boys. She used straight razor to do sideburns neckline and line designs. Pretty expensive though. read more

I happened across this hair salon while at Nimitz Center. It's a great little salon, and very affordable. I got the long layered hair cut and it turned out great (~$31 total with tax and tip... Including a shampoo and blow dry). I was a walk in customer (got lucky and there was no wait) and was done in 30-45 min or so. I've been looking for a new hair salon for a couple years since my previous stylist retired. Everywhere I tried was like $50+ for a cut and extra for a shampoo and (more) extra to have my hair blow dried at the end...ridiculous. Anyway, this is a great little local salon that deserves a chance! Parking at Nimitz center is of course unpleasant as the stalls are stick thin skinny. Also, sometimes the salon can get warm so no jackets required here. read more
