I've tried quite a few nail salons, and I keep coming back to K1 Aesthetic SPA. Their manicure and pedicure aren't the cheapest or the most "luxury spa" priced but the quality makes it worth it. My nails stay strong and look great even after about 5 weeks, which says a lot about their work. The spa is always clean, the staff are welcoming, and the service feels consistent every visit. Parking is also convenient, especially during the daytime or early hours, which makes the whole experience easier. By far, the cleanest nail salon on the island I've been to. I reached out at 8 am via Yelp request (since no online appt) to schedule a same morning appt and Lisa was able to get me in by 10:45. There was a bit of a mix up but it worked out in the end. Pulled up to the driveway to the left of the store front. You have to pull up close to bar for them to open up automatically. There were no spaces available but an attendant came out to open up a spot coned off as I informed of an appt at K1. I walked through the lobby and made a right street side. I was the only client in. I was greeted and asked to pick a color up front. A selection of colors from natural tones to catseye and even organic for $5 more. I sat by the window where water, a phone holder, and candy treats were placed on a tray in front of me. Great comfy chair design where the sink pulls out from underneath the chair. Two ladies immediately got to work to remove my existing gel color with their power tool then buffed it out before apply this gel overlay. It was my first time getting this clear base apparently making your nail bed stronger. When I put my hand into the dry to cure it, it was a bit too hot. She adjusted it and asked me to pull my hand out if that happens again vs putting my hand all the way in. She mentioned my nail is too thin. But after my first coat of color, I didn't have any issues. She did a great job shaping my nail to a square rounded edges. There was no hand massage but not sure if it was an add on or not. However, my pedicure did come with it as I do remember selecting it during my Yelp request. She used a cheese grater to exfoliate (I am starting to think this is only available in Hawaii as other nail salons do the same). She did a thorough job with my cuticles, filing, ensuring there were multiple coats with each curing. I enjoyed my leg foot massage especially since I play so much tennis, 3 hrs the previous day, so it was a nice treat. The place was quiet and relaxing, unlike most salons I go to in Cali where it's always packed with chit chatting or nail techs speaking loudly to ea other that I can fully enjoy myself. The only usual experience was the whole time I was there, there another woman standing behind the woman doing my manicure. This woman just stood there the majority of the time just observing and didn't say anything. Not sure if she was supervising or learning. It was just....odd??? Overall, the experience was nice. Check out was easy. CJ was really helpful. Pay by Credit card or cash (no discount). I ended up paying cc and left a tip on there. If memory serves me correctly, a gel mani gel pedi with removal and organic nail polish and tax was around $157 plus a 20% tip ($31ish). I've been wanting to come for a nail appointment, I had some free time over the weekend and decided to give them a call to see if they could accommodate me for a same day appointment. I was able to get in within 20 min. As soon as I walked in I was amazed by the clean and modern decor. They asked me if I wanted a drink and was offer tea or water and since I was getting a pedicure and they sat me in a spa chair brought over a cute tray of goodies, my tea, and a phone holder. The service was great. My manicurist was gentle and didn't bat an eye when I asked to change the color I chose since it wasn't too my liking. I contacted several salons looking for an accessible pedicure chair for my mom, who recently had hip surgery and uses a wheelchair but can stand with assistance. This salon responded within 10 minutes--even at 10pm--and was incredibly kind, asking thoughtful questions about how they could accommodate her. Many places never responded, so I booked right away. When we arrived, the staff were just as wonderful in person. My mom could easily stand and sit in the pedicure chair from the front, and they were very attentive in helping her move comfortably. She loved the phone holder and relaxing jazz music. The restroom was also wheelchair accessible. Mom looked so comfy locked in her chair with her snacks for her pedi that I asked to change my mani to a pedi, but they offered to do both at the same time -next to mom! So I ended up getting a gel mani and pedi, and everything felt very pampering and efficient and ended at the same time! I upgraded to a cat-eye gel, an expensive upgrade but the color is gorgeous. A week later my nails and toes still look brand new--no chips or lifting--and I've gotten several compliments. I've done my own nails for years, but you can definitely tell these were professionally done. The staff even helped us all the way back to the lobby in the pouring rain. I always love trying new nail salons so I was really excited to try K1 after seeing all the other amazing reviews/pictures. Overall, my experience was good (3.5 stars but there's no half stars on Yelp). I liked how easy it was to park, and that it was free. It's one of those parking garages where you buzz in and then the gate opens automatically when you want to leave. In terms of the pedicure itself, it was quite pricey. I initially booked a regular pedicure which is $45 on the site. After sitting down the lady asked if I wanted regular or deluxe and I decided to go with the deluxe because it wasn't too clear what the difference was and I didn't want a quick/basic pedi. I think they could be a little more transparent by offering a price sheet with the differences! My pedicure ended up being $95 after tip, which comparatively is close to what I pay for a gel manicure with a simple design at other salons. They have limited regular polish colors and up charge if you want a certain brand +$5 (like their Chanel polish). I think this was one of the priciest pedicures I have paid. K1's salon feels clean and is well decorated, but the water smelled a little stale and wasn't that hot. Not a fault of the salon, but Kapiolani area can get a little sketchy and a homeless man even walked in while I was getting my pedicure. Overall, this was a nice treat. I ended up loving the polish color I chose, and the subtle touches like asking if I want something to drink and providing a snack. I appreciate the fact that they used plastic liner for the foot bath which several places I went before didn't do that. It always worries me if they don't use disposable plastic liner. I hadn't gotten my nails done in a long time, so I was really excited. The salon was clean, the staff was friendly, and I got the design I wanted. The nails look elegant, and it's too early to comment on durability since it's only been a day. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the gel wasn't applied very close to the cuticles. There are noticeable gaps on several nails, which makes them look a little grown out even though they're brand new. This nail salon near Ala Moana is fairly new--about 6 months in--and I wanted to give them a try. I booked an appointment for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. The nail tech was very knowledgeable about their products and explained the differences between the types of gel. There's an extra $20 charge if you want a harder gel, and I opted for their organic gel brand, Moding, which was an additional $5. It's nice that they offer different options and are upfront about pricing. The gel manicure turned out beautifully. This is one of the most luxury nail salons that I have been to on Oahu! It's so bright and clean -- not to mention their chairs are so plush and comfortable. Plus, free parking! All you have to do when you pull up to the private garage is say that you're here for a K1 nail appointment. They focus on really high quality polish and everything they had seemed so lush. I really liked all of the nail color options, the shades were separated almost by vibe / collection. I was actually between two different shades and they let me try both of them before making a decision. What really sets them apart is the little things like complimentary drinks (water, tea, soda) and snacks! They even opened up the bag of gummy bears for me. Plus, they had a stand for your phone-- so you can scroll with ease! They had a great attention to detail yet were very efficient-- I got a mani and pedi done in about an hour. I will say... it is on the pricier side. I was open to splurge a bit since I was leaving on a trip but you are definitely playing for the quality. They aren't super transparent with the pricing until after and they do charge extra for the special type of gel nail polish I picked, along with a seperate charge for removing previous gel polish (for each hand). K1 Aesthetic was recommended to me by a colleague who recently discovered the place herself. So I gave it a try for a self-care pedicure day. I was able to make an appointment the same day and found their location pretty easily. I opted to park at Ala Moana shopping center taking advantage of my Lexus perks for complimentary valet parking, and walked over. From the moment I stepped in, "Last Christmas" by Wham! was playing so I was excited to see them getting into the Christmas spirit, BUT it played on REPEAT the ENTIRE time I was there. At one pointed during my service I wanted to ask if they could either change the music or turn it off. It's a great Christmas song, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to listen to it on repeat for 45+ minutes. When I was directed to their "color station" to pick out a polish, I noticed a couple of fat, and I mean some chonky buggers, mosquitoes flying around in the salon. I wasn't about to allow myself to get bit, but I also didn't want to start swatting randomly in the salon. The technicians noticed and swatted at them but after killing them, I noticed that none of them washed their hands. The technician helping me wasn't overly friendly but neither rude. Just quiet. I think she may have been their senior for the day because she would randomly bark out orders or give stern looks and the other workers would jump, which didn't exactly make me feel comfortable. I requested a regular pedicure which is priced at $45. I don't wear polish and don't do gel on my toes so I asked for a buff shine which they charged an additional $10 which wasn't anything more than an actual brief buffing. I had an excellent experience at K1 Aesthetic Spa. I wanted to treat my goddaughter to something really nice and I know she enjoys getting her nails done. Turns out it's a bit hard to find a nail place on Oahu that has both a lux vibe and aesthetic, and a large menu of nail services! A lot of places that look really nice don't do extensions, and I needed extensions on two nails I broke. I'm so glad I found K1 and tried them out! I got my goddaughter a massage, I got gel overlay and a couple extensions, and we both got non-toxic gel polish mani colors and express pedicures. The space is beautiful and has no chemical smell. We were both in comfy massage chairs which contributed to the experience feeling relaxing and pampering. They play peaceful music, and served us each drinks and little candy snacks on a tray. My goddaughter really enjoyed her massage which was in a private room. The lady who did my manicure, I could tell she was not very experienced, but she worked very hard and was meticulous to do a great job. I have no doubt once she gets the hang of it she will be a great nail artist with how detail-oriented she is. I LOVED my nails when she was done. It doesn't give it justice in the photo, but my pink jelly nails were so glossy and kinda sheer, I loved it! New favorite nail color! All our manis and pedis came out great. Conveniently located at The Central Alamoana, parking available at the guest parking of the Central and if all the stalls are taken, there's parking next door or at the mall. What I like about this place is how friendly everyone is, how nice, clean and comfortable it is when you set foot inside. The service is great too! The first time I went there was to get my eyebrows waxed. Today I went in for a manicure. Great location and got me in right away. The gal that greeted me immediately discussed additional charges. They don't do acrylic and I have both gel and acrylic in nails. So they would have to remove all of my gel and acrylic and start fresh. So I opted to just get a gel pedicure and needed to repair a broken toe nail. The pedicure was beautiful although very uncomfortable angle for my Achilles (but I have issues) She did not cut the broken nail away She glued it and then did gel over the top so I hope it doesn't split again. Regular gel pedicure $65 $5 to remove my gel And then an additional $8 to repair the one toe. With an 18% tip (virtually zero foot massage) was $96.38 Very pricey. Salon is convenient, clean, bright some candy and water or soda offered which was nice. But all I heard while I was there was the explaining of all the other additional charges. That was a bit of a turn off for me. My pedicure is very clean and polished but not sure I would go back. Hope this helps others in their search. read more

The lady that greeted us welcomed us warmly and confirmed our services and lead us to choose our nail color.
