We asked for a medium skin fade and there's no fade, it's just a level 3 all the way around, which is not what I asked for. The stylist we had today was snappy with me when I asked for a full wash - cut - style for my preteen. She kept mentioning "that's an extra $$ and it will take more time." I told her we weren't in a hurry, and thanked her. Her and another stylist exchanged a very obvious "look" between each other. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be back.

10/22/2019 My children and I came in today for a quick neck…read moretrim. I made a placement for my daughter and I and my son sat with us reading his books. We waited for our turn behind someone who scheduled online, which wasn't too long of a wait. I heard the lady who trimmed his hair say, "You sure you weren't in the Military or anything before?" The customer already told her no, twice as they walked up. When it was our turn, I told the lady that I wanted my daughter to go frist so I can see what she was going to do. (Quick Note: my daughter is of mixed race with beautiful curly hair from her African American side) The lady was not happy that I asked for my daughter to go first. I walked back there and the lady looked so upset already, looking at her hair like it was going to be a huge issue. I quickly voiced that we were there for a neck trim and the lady (short blonde hair and quick to judge attitude) said, "At this place if we use clippers it's considered a haircut and I'll have to charge you for one" (which is $15 instead of $6) So she went to change the appointment and quickly went to work pinning her hair up and trimming her neck line. While she was working on my daughter's hair she asked a couple of questions which made me form quite a distain for her. She asked my daughter ,"So do you like having your hair like this?" (meaning curly) my daughter a bit thrown aback, but answered that she did. Took her a couple of minutes and my daughter was done. A different lady, who just finished with another customer (shoulder length blonde hair in a dress and a barber apron) took me back. I also told her that I was there for a neck trim and she was so willing to quickly do a trim and charge me $6. The shorter lady who was working on my daughter looked at her and shook her head, and said no and to charge for a haircut. I took a deep breath and my hair stylist apologized and wished she offered or could give me a coupon. My hair stylist was very pleasant and cleaned up my hair line beautifully. I asked her if she could fix my bangs too since I was being charged for a full haircut. She left me with fluffier bangs and was super nice and informative. If I could redo this afternoon, I would've waited until the other lady came back from her break, or just waited for the longer haired lady for both of us. When someone is already not willing to touch or work with ethnic hair, it was already a deeper issue. To even ask my daughter if she even liked her hair in her natural state was rude and wrong. She even told her co worker that her dress looked like it was too hot to be wearing indoors. From the last time I was here, from the chewing hair stylist, to a racist one. I'm not impressed. The longer blonde haired lady was the only person that made us feel welcomed. She even praised my daughter on her hair, and when the other lady heard it she huffed. I understand that it's 2019, but moving from one city to experience this still isn't what we're looking for as a family. I'll only come back if I don't see that short blonde lady in there again. Mind you I'm Filipino, my children are mixed, and anyone deserves to feel welcomed in an establishment, not unwanted.

Ok, so…read moreno offense, but I normally would never walk into a Wal-Mart to get my hair done BUT did you know that these SmartStyle salons are independently owned? I didn't either! Anyway, Tanya did a great job for me. I came in asking for a highlighting foil and possibly some peek-a-boo bright colors. This was a two step process. First Tanya did an all over foil for light blonde highlights, then she added purple and pink foils all around my crown. When my hair is up the colors show more but when my hair is down they're a little bit hidden. I love love love it! And the price was so affordable. Tanya specializes in color (and in military fades) but she only works Sundays and Mondays. Thanks again Tanya for the great experience and the fantastic color! I'm so happy!

They do not honor appointments booked online. I booked an appointment days in advance received…read more multiple confirmation emails and made arrangements to be available. 45mins before my appointment time I received notification my appointment was canceled by the salon. When I called to see why I was told they can't control the online appointments and called in appointments take priority. If you can't manage an online booking system you shouldn't be using one!

I found that the braiding was awful.. my hair was not braided completely my hair was not braided all the way it was like it was rolled in the back, there were braids sewn into that and there was some synthetic hair not that I brought cause I brought real hair sewn in with it, which I'm assuming is what was irritating my scalp. So now I am getting it redone again by someone else. I still don't have nothing bad to say about the salon owner or the person that did my hair itself. The braiding was not good. this is the update to the first review I did. I posted pictures of myself with my hair done, and just after taking out the hair itself with the braids look like less than a month old. everything else was good. The shop was beautiful. The hairdresser owner was great. I would go to her again for maybe another style but not braiding. or maybe just not with crocheted hair really wanting to be fair about my review that is why I'm posting.

Overall, giving it a second was my mistake. The vibe was nice but nice in the way of a small business or family friend. It wasn't professional unfortunately; it was cramped and filled with lies (or mistakes). I struggle writing this because i hate being negative, but this needed to be said. Among other things: some braids weren't glued, some fell out within 2-3 days, hair was glued to false hair even when specifically asking for it not to be. I'm sorry but this is a no for me. Do not come here or if you do just don't get anything that would harm your hair/ requires glue.
