Recently the guys at Hakky agreed to take on replacing a zipper on my beloved bag rom Barcelona. I love the bag so much that after all these years it is well worn and tricky to repair. Other repair shops had turned down the risk. The bag is perfect now. A few days ago they threaded, unthreaded and rethreaded shoelaces to help me secure a pair that is just right for my On Clouds. And then the guy did me ANOTHER favor which I won't identify because I don't want to inadvertently encourage anyone to take advantage of them. I'd used them back in the day for heel replacements. Completely disappointed with this place. I dropped off my Uggs to have the seam repaired. I came back that night and was charged $25. The seam was sewed sloppily and didn't match the other, but I was okay with that. Friday, I put them on to work and the seam burst. I called and asked if I can stop in for a refund or redo. When I came in Friday night, I told the worker the situation. He took out $25 then asked to examine the shoe. He said that the seam was ripped 'on the other side'. I told him it split right in the middle, exactly where it was sewn. He said he will only refund $20 because of that. I had another pair of shoes in my bag to drop off, but decided against it. Completely unprofessional, stating I ripped them myself. I never received a receipt at purchase, got no refund receipt, and he was insisting either $20 or nothing. I would not recommend this place at all. Overpriced, unprofessional, and rude. He made it seem like this was my fault. read more

A rarity: a clean, well-stocked, and well lit cobbler's store. Great location, right off the food court at the Danbury Fair Mall where, one imagines, you might get your shoes repaired while your having lunch at the new Chic Fil-A or one of the other fast foot outlets. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I walked into this empty shoe repair shop on a Saturday afternoon and asked the guy how much he would charge to repair the end of my stiletto heel because the heel was exposed... Something that would easily cost $5 and take about 10minutes to complete. The guy gave me a ridiculous price and when I asked him if he could give me a better price he became very rude and angry for no reason. He seems to be taking out the fact that his business is not doing well on his customers. He repeated multiple times that he needed to pay the rent for his store. When we asked him why he was getting angry he rudely said he is not and nervously laughed. We told him that he needed to be more respectful to his customers. Will never be back here again. read more

Completely rude. I stopped in the other day to pick up a pair of shoe laces for sneakers. Without even looking up the person working behind the counter asked me the length needed. I told him I didn't know. His response? "Well, we don't know either so you go home, you measure the laces, them you come back." All said without even looking up. Now, maybe I am alone in this but I would rather make an educated guess and leave with a pair of laces that fit "most" sneakers. I wasn't looking for exact, I was looking for a way to tie my shoes so they could be worn to the gym. This is my second very rude encounter with this merchant and I won't be going back. read more

Horrible experience after using this shop for years!! I have used this shop for the last ten years and always have had a great experience and he has done great work. Took a pair of loafers to get them repaired with new sole on them and after using them only twice in the first week and started coming off. Every other time they last for months on end with miles walked in them. I wasn't mad, just asked him to fix them. He berated me, screamed at me saying " No! I did not to that! Your wrong! Not my work!". I told him I just picked it up week ago and he became irate. I've been using him for ten years and why would I keep a receipt after ten years of no problem. Continued to yell and scream and I decided it wasn't worth it. I didn't raise my voice once and was so shocked how he treated a good customer. I left the store and while my back was turned he yells " F**k you!" like a coward. I turned around and was the bigger man and walked away. I will find somewhere else to go and give them alot of business. He was smug and pompous and belittled me when I was 100% right. I will continue to let people know about the terrible experience I've had. I recommend highly... Take you business elsewhere!!! read more
