    Salmon Carpaccio

We stopped at Hako for date night, looking for sushi! We started with the Matcha Hi and Blueberry Cucumber cocktail! Both were refreshing and not too sweet! We were greeted promptly and one thing I appreciated was that both servers worker together to take care of us during our dinner. Nothing was missed and request were timely because of this! We then had the salmon carpaccio and seaweed salad for our appetizers, then shared the sashimi combo for our main course. The pieces of sushi were HUGE and delicious! I am big on the temperature of my nigiri/sashimi and this was just right. The sashimi combo also comes with rice and miso soup! We will return to try more menu items.

The food and the price are both great! I love sushi and love to check out different places and this place is one of the top spots around the area. The fish taste fresh and flavorful and the price is not price gouging at all! Why the 2 star you ask? The service. It was my first time eating in at the restaurant and I came with some friends. Total of 4 people, so it wasn't that many. It told 45 mins for them to come and ask us what we wanted to drink, and MAN was i parched. Meanwhile, thet had sat 2 new tables and gotten their orders already. I lost track of time but it took some time for them to come take our order as well. We spent a total of 2 hours here and we barely ordered anything. My friends endes up going to eat out somewhere else afterwards. So embarrassing to have wasted so much time for so little. I will still be eating here, but I will just stick to ordering togo in the future to save myself time.

this easily will become my new favorite spot! the food came out quick and was really yummy. we got the crunch munch roll, california roll, yum yum roll, and the black tiger roll. all of them exceeding expectations! we also tried a bottle of sake and the matcha hi. the matcha hi is a matcha cocktail with gin and hOLLYYY oh my god that was very delicious im obsessed. the staff was also super fun and friendly, we engaged in a lot of silly banter and anyone who describes it otherwise likely just lacks a whimsy about em :P all in all, there was no wait to be seated, food came out fast, the food was better than anticipated, the drinks were more delicious than expected, the staff was a friendly vibe that you crave, and i will be back a dozen more times.

This place was so cute and the perfect little sushi date!! We both got a different lunch box special! When I ordered I was afraid it was going to be too small so I also ordered a Sunday morning roll because it used to be my favorite roll and haven't been able to find it in a really long time. Both lunch boxes came with SO much food! You could order just one and it for sure will fill you up! Each come with a different sushi roll, sashimi, maki, dumpling & salad. My eyes were hungrier than my belly because I couldn't even finish the Sunday morning roll, but it was so delicious. The outside was perfectly crispy!! fried to perfect like always!! I definitely recommend giving this roll a try if you aren't sure what to get or you are new to sushi. I can't wait to come back and try more of their exotic rolls!

Lunch special for mom, inari, Unagi Crunch Roll and Pretty Woman Roll for me!

Such a cute little sushi joint. Mom and I stopped here for lunch. She got one of the lunch specials and I got inari, a crunchy eel roll, and the pretty lady roll. The kiwi on the last roll was something new for me, it's nice to see a place that has something different to offer other than just the originals. All in all I thought everything was high quality and the service was friendly and efficient.

Wife and I were in the mood for sushi and wanted a nearby spot for a quick bite. Having never been to this location, we opted to give it a try. There were no patrons when we arrived, so we were seated immediately. Our young server was extremely pleasant and gave us plenty of time to review the menu and make our meal choices. Before food, my wife ordered a cocktail and I the large (house) warm sake. Drinks were brought to the table and we lined up our meal choices...shumai steamed dumplings, unagi roll (just for my wife), red snapper maki roll, crunch munch roll and a hurricane roll. The food was brought out in "courses" which help us spread the meal out and enjoy things a bit at a time. The dumplings were freshly steamed and served in a warm, light soy sauce. Each of the rolls were presented artfully and the enclosed seafood choices seemed fresh. Sides included the usual suspects...soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi. Overall the meal was quite acceptable, except the next day my wife informed me she had "issues" after eating this food, so not sure what to think about our dining experience.

What makes a place different is service always !! We had the cutest sushi lover from the west coast as our server. She introduced herself as a sushi lover and helped us pick some good rolls. However, I've been to sushi a million times but not ONCE has a person ever said hey you should try the wasabi and ginger and THIS is how. She explained why, the ratio of ginger or wasabi with soy to get the best flavor! And now the wasbi and ginger won't be just decoration on my plate. The food was amazing as well we got several rolls . My favorite was the yum yum roll and crunch munch! They have an ajoning parking , the place is small but great for, family, date night, or solo. It's cozy!

We love Hako! Best sushi take out on the near west side of Cleveland. The tuna cado roll is my favorite. They always go a great job and are also available through DoorDash or Ubereats. Staff are friendly whenever I've picked up. Overall - a great option for sushi to go.

I actually had not heard much about this place so a friend and I decided to check it out recently. This establishment is very small and is still following covid guidelines of using every other table. While we were there there was never a line waiting for tables and we noticed they handle a lot of take-out orders. We each started with a cocktail and DAMN the drinks are strong here! They were good but you only need one during your visit to get a good buzz going. I tried the Spicy Scallop Roll, Crunch Munch Roll, and Tuna Cado Roll. Holy moly their spicy tuna is actually very spicy! Even though it was spicier than other rolls I have tried I was very into it. The Crunch Munch roll was my favorite of the night and I will order that one again. My friend said, the Pretty Woman Roll was by far the best she has had in a long time and the kiwi was really what made her order the roll. I want to give a shout-out to this restaurant because my friend loves sushi but has a shellfish allergy. They were very accomodating switching things out in one of the rolls she ordered and had no problem telling the chefs to clean their knives before slicing her rolls.

Salmon and yellowtail sashimi, pretty woman roll - very fresh!

This place was so cute and a little hidden gem. The hot sake was great and the sushi was very fresh (always what I'm looking for)!

Great place! As an asian I have a pretty high standard in Japanese food and especially sushi, but Hako is truly a nice addition to the Lakewood community as an authentic Japanese restaurant (I don't really care for those Asian fusion places). First the place is nice and bright. The owner is super friendly and the staffs are pleasant. They did a pretty good job renovating the place, especially a side entrance from the parking lot right next to it. The menu has plenty of options for everybody - whether you like sushi or not. Even vegetarian options. I haven't tried raw fish there yet because I'm always cautious if I'm not on the coasts or in Asia. But everything I have had there (been there twice now) is good. Not fancy, but good. Do yourself a favor and get the kanisu as an appetizer. It's a cucumber wrapped sushi dish. Super refreshing and yummy...lightly sweet and tangy. Other photos I have here are yaki soba and chicken katsu. Both are very delicious. My second trip there we had some cooked sushi rolls. All very good. I will write another review once I have tried their sushi with raw fish. Confidence level is getting higher now. Keep up the good work, Sushi Hako!

Came here before a homecoming dance I attended with friends. Waitress was nice, food tasted excellent and with great presentation, and we were seated with a reservation of seven. Despite the over-salted edamame my friend ordered for all of us, I had a good time.

Only issue is that they didn't let me choose half portions for hotpot and the amount of vegetable they gave me was way too much (and they charge for leftover). Thankfully they didn't this time but it also felt super wasteful. I hope they weren't hoping to give me a lot of vegetables so that I felt pressure to eat it without getting charged - Only to not order the more expensive items. They also told us they had Coke products when we first came in and then the waiter said they only had Pepsi products. Overall pleasant experience. The ambience is hole in the wall to standard. Not much to look at.

I visited Kintaro Sushi and Hibachi for the first time on Sunday, 18 August 2024 in the late afternoon with my friend and fellow Yelper, Dr. Antonio P. FOOD -- They specialize in AYCE (All You Can Eat) Sushi and Hotpot. When I entered the restaurant, I noticed some yummy fried rice with steak and shrimp so maybe I'll order that next time, if I visit Kintaro again. I came to try the 'All You Can Eat' hotpot (soup) lunch for $17.99. You can eat as much as you want for 2 hours. They can charge extra for food waste so don't order too much. For their hotpot all you can eat, you are given a menu to mark off what you want added to your soup. I can't remember if I chose a pork based broth or a chicken broth but I think it was pork-based. The hotpot came with some beef strips (rolled up), ramen noodles, and cilantro. The broth didn't look as fresh as I would have liked when my food was initially brought to me but after adding the ingredients to the soup, it tasted fine. My soup needed flavour as it was bland so I had to stand up and go to the back of the restaurant to get some chili oil and sauces so that I could add that to my soup. When my food was brought out, it was actually a lot for 1 person so I don't remember finishing my soup. I did add all the ingredients into the hotpot and ate enough of it that I wasn't charged extra for food waste. Overall, the hotpot is decent. Customer service was friendly and efficient. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 114/250 total reviews in 2026 - 955 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 1 June 2026

Where else can you get all-you-can-eat sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi, and other appetizers for under 30 bucks? I went here for dinner, and for $28.99, I got a whole lot of sashimi, sushi rolls, hibachi scallops, shumai, strawberry ice cream, etc. Everything was delicious. The sashimi tasted great, and the sushi rolls were filling, though thankfully, Kintaro doesn't go too heavy on the rice. I thought the hibachi scallops were better than a lot of non-AYCE hibachi restaurants.
