I was starving, I mean my stomach was touching my back and my sister was all over the place about what she wanted to eat as usual. I got on my handy dandy yelp and found halal boys at the top of the list with almost 5 stars. We hopped in the car and headed over around 4. The owner of this food truck was nice enough but unfortunately the only thing they had left was chicken over rice. Personally, I prefer a lamb over rice or a mix but again I was starving so I took what they had. Things to note were, they only take take cash. Luckily I try to keep a few dollars on me just in case this scenario happens. Secondly, because they are clearly very popular, you may want to go early as things sell out throughout the day. I don't think this is a bad thing if that ensures fresh food everyday. Lastly, they are not stingy with their sauces. If anything I could have used a little less. Overall, I will be going back to try the lamb. Solid food at a decent price. No complaints here. read more

Great little food cart. When I went for lunch around 12, there was a line of about 4 or 5 people in front of me, however they were very quick and efficient, so I only had to wait around for about 5 minutes tops. I got the mix (chicken and lamb) over rice with extra white sauce and light red sauce, which was delicious. I work in walking distance of this cart. It is home to one of the best gyros to be had in Towson. The other offerings are good but the gyros are by far the best. I usually opt for the hot sauce instead of the white gyro sauce. In my opinion, the hot sauce takes it to the next level. You may want to consider this move as well if you like your food spicy. The next best offering consists of meat (chicken or lamb) over rice. It is a very large portion and I have never finished it. It's enough for two lunches, really. They need a board or wall of honor for the few that have finished it. You would deserve some sort of recognition. Everything is reasonably priced and this is a great place to walk to on a nice day. I usually take it back to the office but there are many benches in close proximity to this cart. Also, you can get a bottled water or soft drink for $1. The cart is cash only. If you forget, there's a few ATMs across the street. This is convenient to me as I don't carry cash on me. read more

I absolutely love Halal Boys, and I hate myself for not writing a review on them after the first bite. I go here VERY often, as do a lot of locals in the business area around it. I've never had a bad meal, experience, or service here. I tend to get the mix over rice because I hate having to choose between meats. The hot dogs are also surprisingly yummy! The price point is also amazing -- I've never had a meal for two people for over 20 dollars. My only tip is that they're cash only, but it's so cheap that you probably have that laying around in your pocket anyways. Please don't wonder about visiting here. Food is okay, service is horrible. My spouse used to work in Towson and ate Halal Boys almost daily. Four times I have stopped by, going significantly out the way, to try to get my spouse his beloved Lamb Gyro. Each time they have been out of lamb. The worst: Today I park, run over there without paying the meter to see if they have lamb. "Yes we do!" I get a big happy response. I go to the meter, pay for parking, get back to their little dumpy tin can and "Oh, yea, we only have one serving." So I paid to park for nothing. Three strikes and you are out, this is their fourth strike. They are always pushing the chicken. Why can't they adequately plan? Making me pay for parking and then not having it was the last straw.
