Neopol easily has my favorite sandwich in the city! So much so that I rarely order anything other than the salmon BLT. Pro tip: get the sunflower bread! It was nice checking them out for Restaurant Week. This was the first time (that I can recall) they participated and they really had a good deal going. It included a shrimp, a mussel, a sandwich, cookie, chips and a drink, all for $20. In all my years of coming here I have only had their shrimp salad, white fish, and the aforementioned sandwich; and that's basically it, so it was nice to try something different. My first time trying Neopol and I see why they are such a staple here in Baltimore. Since Neopol was participating in the Baltimore Restaurant Week, I figured there was no better time to try them. For $20 they offered a sandwich of choice, a bag of chips, 1 jumbo shrimp & smoked mussel, lemonade, and a chocolate chip cookie, which unfortunately they forgot to give me. After dining in person twice I just knew this goodness needed to be shared with family and friends. I placed a catering order online for a pre-holiday game night. Ordering was easy, I considered going the route of ezcaterer which is recommended on the business website but didn't want to pay the extra charges. Instead I ordered directly from the Belvedere location website. I'm bummed I didn't even get to try the shrimp (they were a hit) because they disappeared first. Pastrami Melt is a favorite-House cured Pastrami has just the right amount of smoke. They ask if you want the Coleslaw and onions-yes is the answer. I'm not usually a fan of Coleslaw but their version works well in this Melt. Egg Salad BLT is another favorite. The Egg Salad is also available separately for purchase. Whitefish Melt (Special), Salmon BLT were also tasty. After a sample, ordered Smoked Mussels and we enjoyed them although some thought the smoke flavor was a bit much. Duck Confit is popular as it has been sold out on all of my visits. The sandwiches aren't huge and that's ok as they are priced accordingly and full of that smoked goodness! Been to a few of these locations but this one the most. It's inside of a food hall so come inside any of the doors and you will see Neopole in the back. There is always excellent customer service and the food is excellent. I always get something new and for this visit, it was the smoked salmon crepe. It was smoky and quite savory and the cooked potato inside was a perfect addition. I got mussels, shrimp, and egg salad this visit for my husband and I to share. I also always get a bulb of smoked garlic to go to use in my own homemade meals throughout the week. Parking is plentiful but it does fill up; especially around lunch time. If you're into a smoky flavor profile, come give them a try. You can sit inside the hall to eat or take home. There are several seating areas and other eateries for you to try as well. I did a review on my first visit to Neopol Savory Smokery but I've been there twice since, and I feel inclined to adjust due to their service. For starters, this location is located inside of this beautiful little indoor strip of restaurants with a bar or two with super unconventional hours, on some days it closes at 6pm. Knowing that, my Wife and I rushed to get there by 5 however Neopol's employees had already shut everything down. I get that they want to get out of there as soon as 6pm strikes but come on. And they didn't even attempt to offer an accommodation. The guy at the register was very matter of fact that they had nothing that they could prepare for us, even though some of their sandwiches are cold. Strike one. Came to this establishment again. This time an hour and a half before the area closed down and I am happy to say I was serviced. But the attitude of the cashier was as if I ruined their day by placing my order. Not gonna lie, the sandwiches were delicious once again, but I have reservations about spending my money at places that make me feel unwanted. And I know their thought process, I'm only one person. But if they make others feel the way they've made me feel on multiple occasions now, they won't be in business as long as I believe they want to be. read more

I heard about Neopol Smokery before I moved back to Baltimore so I tried them within my first week of coming back. My friend eats the smoked mussels at least once a months so that's what I was inclined to try. I can easily eat a dozen regular mussels alone. So can she, so we ordered a dozen and a half, to be on the safe side. I'm glad we did because although I thought they were really really tasty, I couldn't get through more than 6 of them. It's an interesting taste for sure and a little too Smokey for me. We also tried the smoked salmon BLT. I love salmon BLT sandwiches, it's one of my favorites but I've never tried it smoked. I liked it, didn't love it. Lastly, we shared a smoked crab cake. This I wouldn't buy again. I couldn't taste the crab. They were indeed meaty but the smoked flavored overpowered the crab cake. My friend agreed, but she also said that day the mussels tasted extra smokey. Not sure!
