    Lamb Gyro

The Lamb Gyro was absolutely delicious!!! The restaurant is super clean and they had great service!

Great halal! I loved the options for sides, you could get either pita, hummus or fries, I got the fries and it was good. I got two mix over platters and it was pretty good, the white sauce was a bit sour but it matched well with the meat. The platter rounded up to $10 and it was worth it to say. Only giving it 4 stars because the service wasn't that friendly. I told them what sauce I wanted and he interrupted me while I was talking and said to tell the chefs. I also thought you had to tell them what side you wanted when you're ordering and the cashier immediately cut me off during my sentence and told me to tell them when they're done making it. He seemed like he was in a rush and I was holding up the line, when in fact, there wasn't a line at all. They also add a service charge of 3.7%. The food was great it was just the workers that were a bit rude.

This is the best I've had the food tastes fresh I always see them making chicken on the grill that means this stuff moves !! When you order a specialty you might have to wait a bit because they make it fresh. The boys will take care of you they are always cool whenever I walk in. The food is delicious. There are also seats inside if you want to sit and dine in.

We ordered chicken tikka with rice and salad and a mix platter with fries. I personally enjoyed the chicken tikka kebabs. They changed the rice. I do not what they did to it, but it's an upgrade from before. I do wish the side salad had more greens in it. I can't wait to order this again!

    COMBO

Best halal on delivery I've had in a bit. Bonus this place also opens earlier than a few others in the same area. I got a combo with fries and falafels. The salad that came with the combo was the bomb. Phenomenal seasoning. Quick and easy ordering. Will definitely make a trip in person to experience the ambiance.

food was completely disgusting. Im under the impression the make the food with artificial meat. The customer service is a joke. They pretty much want you to buy quick and leave.... Usually the case of bad food

    Parchment paper in my platter

I have been here multiple times and i always give them the benefit of the doubt and try to give some space between my visits, hoping things will get better. But yesterday was the final straw. They served me mostly rice and it was all mushed together. The food was so bland. They had a dog in the restaurant while i was picking up my food. I was served no meat in my food. My nuggets were so oily. And to top it all off, i had PAPER in my food! So disappointed! I will never be going back!

Great Service and fast , staff was super nice. It's my go to spot for fast Chicken over Rice or even the Combo. They have different toppings you can add and salads at no extra charge.

Mixed platter over rice, pretty good overall -1 star for the Hummus. It was tasteless and the texture doesn't work with the rice. Pick the fries.

    Mix Platter (take-out)

Halal Boyz is an OK choice for halal cart food in this area. The Mix Platter (chicken and lamb over rice) is tasty, but the fries can get soggy as they are overlaid on, instead of separated from, the rice. The fries get further moistened by any sauce drizzled on top of the rice. A challenge for Halal Boyz is that nearby (by car, anyway) establishments offer better flavor and value, and more consistent execution and service, albeit at slightly higher prices. I've received bits of bone in the food here. The rice is sometimes on the hard side. And while some customers receive sauce thimbles upon request, others don't.

Wish I never even ordered from here. I was seriously craving halal and this was the closest place that I knew was open. Plus, the reviews didn't look that bad. WRONG. I placed the order on Grubhub for 3 Mix Platters for pick up. Stopped by 30 minutes after placing the order and none of the platters were made. I had to wait on line and order the food. Top it off, Grubhub pricing was $8.99 while in store pricing was $6.99. The two dollars extra per platter was not bad if the food was ready for pick up and I did not have to wait on line to order. But that didn't happen, ended up wasting another 15 min in store ordering, so the extra charge was unreasonable. When he was adding the salad, I asked for some chickpeas. He did not tell me it was extra. Instead he said that I won't be getting my fries that came with the order because I added a topping to my salad. I honestly was fine with paying a bit extra for the chickpeas separately but he refused and would not give me fries. I didn't want to make a scene, so I reluctantly left the shop. The 3 orders via Grubhub costed me $29.23 and what I got was three mix plates with meat, salad, and rice. NO FRIES. Very disappointed at the service. The food itself was mediocre. I should have stopped at the halal cart in front of Kohl's. The food was not good enough for having to deal with the server's attitude and bad service. Would not recommend to anyone.

We walked into a bright, clean, and energetic space with a fast-paced atmosphere that reflects how popular the chain has become. Even with a line forming at the counter, the staff kept things moving efficiently, and the operation felt well organized considering the volume of customers coming through the door. The dining room has a casual, functional energy, the kind of place where the focus stays on getting a satisfying meal rather than lingering, and the open kitchen adds a layer of transparency to the process. We went with one of the tender combos, which is really the reason most people come here in the first place. The chicken tenders were juicy, freshly cooked, and had a crispy coating that held up well without feeling overly heavy. The coating had a good crunch that stayed intact through the meal, and the chicken itself was moist and tender throughout. The real standout, though, is the Cane's Sauce. It adds a tangy, peppery flavor that works perfectly with the chicken and honestly ties the entire meal together. Between the tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, it is a simple meal, but one that is executed consistently well. The toast is buttery and soft, and the fries are solid enough to hold their own alongside the main event. One thing we have noticed is that the chicken can occasionally feel a little greasy depending on the visit, especially if you are ordering a larger combo. For some people that may not be an issue at all, while others might find it sits a bit heavy afterward. That has varied from visit to visit, but it is worth mentioning because the meal is definitely on the richer side compared to some other fast food chicken options. The coleslaw provides a lighter contrast, though it is a fairly standard version of the side and does not stand out the way the chicken and sauce do. The staff during our visit were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained. Food came out quickly, and despite the limited menu, there is something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing one thing rather than trying to offer dozens of different options. The simplicity of the menu makes the decision process easy, and the consistency of the meal across visits is a big part of the appeal. Raising Cane's delivers a satisfying chicken tender meal with quality chicken, a great signature sauce, and consistently solid sides. It may not be the lightest meal around, but when you are in the mood for crispy chicken tenders and a straightforward comfort-food combo, it is easy to see why so many people keep coming back. The meal is familiar, filling, and hits the right notes for what it sets out to do.

The decor is so cute and I love how each canes location has decor relating to the local area. The first box combo comes with 4 tenders, Texas toast, fries, and a drink. You can swap out the Cole slaw with more Texas toast or fries. I love how filling it is and when we got the fries, it was so crispy and fresh. The chicken was a good texture, but I you definitely need to eat it with the canes sauce to get flavor from it.

Tenders were different shapes and sizes, some pieces were just batter. Asked for spicy and soy garlic sauces on the side so we basically just had regular fried chicken; I preferred the "spicy" sauce from a squeeze bottle more (like a spicy mayo). Iced Umma coffee was creamy, sweet and I was ok with it. The only employee in the front was very helpful and patient. We did ask for a few things on the side and were accommodated. The fried chicken is the highlight, featuring a crunchy, well-seasoned coating with juicy meat inside. We ordered a few items and found the spicy crispy chicken burger one of the most popular menu items, served on a soft bun with fresh toppings that balanced the crispy chicken well. The popcorn chicken, chicken tenders, wings, and the oversized Orleans roasted chicken leg were also worth exploring, each arriving hot and freshly made. I made it a point to have their Crispy Pork Banh Mi before writing a review and while I thought I'd fall in love with it, it's good but not my taste. I was imagining more of a batter fried pork strips situation, a more westernized method of frying meats, but it was the style of pork chunks that's hyper crispy and puffy at the top and layered with gelatinous fat. It was tasty for what it was and not greasy, just not my cup of tea. It's a particular style of pork-- I'd google "heo quay" if you wanna see what I'm talking about. Also I've noticed it's popular with Hispanic males-- I think it has to do with the gristly fat texture. I guess we share that cultural preference. Yay world. I did however fall head over heels for their classic Banh mi. Heavy on the pate which I love, and a fluffy crispy bread, with the right meat-to-bread ratio. My gf took a bite not expecting much and her expression was pure surprise and delight. It's her favorite place to get a Banh mi for the bread now and I'd have to agree. It's a very reliable representation of what makes a Banh mi stand out from other sandwiches. And then there's the vempanadas. It's short for "Viet empanadas" and arguably what made them blow up. My mom made a lot of these growing up and my mom is regarded as the best cook out of like 8 kids and their children, so I like to think I have experience in this matter, and it's tastier than my mom's. To be fair, it's made fairly differently-- my mom makes it with a flakey filo-doughy crust and TBD has a softer more pliable dough-- think corn tortilla vs flour tortilla. I personally like flour tortillas more and you can fight me on that one. The filling is also more savory and rich than my mother's and the little quail egg inside is such welcomed treat. My mom's fillings are more meatball like and TBD's is pastier. Fun fact: this dish has origins tying it to France; the original dish is pate-chaud. If you google that too, you can see the evidence of a flakey texture. I will say, the first time I had it was more flavorful and I think the egg was missing the second time. And lastly I want to talk about the thing keeps me crawling back-- the ches (pudding soup). I've always had a disinterest in Vietnamese che growing up because my western palate always demanded MORE SUGAR but as I age, my tastes demand more subtlety. Che is a general term for a kind of dessert soup, with some sort of ingredient like a bean or jello as the focus and a sweetened liquid; I know "soup" is a bit of a turn off but it's really the closest English term we have. Think more like milk in cereal or melted ice cream. Is there a term for the milk in cereal? Anywho, the che ba mau is the most popular and beginner friendly, it's a mix of 3 sweet ingredients like mung bean, red bean, Pandan jelly in like coconut milk. If you're Filipino, it's the Vietnamese equivalent to Halo Halo. But what's cool about TBD is they have different kinds of lesser known ones I'm currently having fun exploring. There's a mung bean one with a thicker sweet cream on top-- reminds me pie filling. And right now I'm about to dig into a Pandan jelly, grass jelly, in coconut milk, peanuts, and shaved ice. It's a fun ass summer drink dessert. I highly recommend if you're looking for something different and refreshing this summer.
