It did not taste fresh and authentic. Remarkably it has a high rating online, but I guess it just depends on who's doing the rating. I can imagine in a place like Midland Michigan, this would be very new and exotic without much to compare to. If you've ever tried Egyptian or Middle Eastern food, you won't be impressed . If it's totally new to you, then it might be a good experience.

They didn't have the skever for the meat, so we were a little hesitant, but ordered anyway. We paid for all that food $44, and left hungry. Portions are so small, it's hard for me to belive this place will survive mall food court with such a small portions for a lot of money. Koshary was very bland, no specific flavor at all. The garlic sauce was just very salty water without any garlic flavor. Both wraps were very small, and the falafel one was so dry, I was choking trying to eat it. Had to buy extra tahini to make it edible. $2+ for a very tiny portion of extra tahini. On top of that everything was too salty. I hoped for the baklava, but it went straight to trash can after my first bite. It had raisins in it. It overwhelmed the flavor, made it tasty raisiny instead of nutty. Also. the nuts were chopped in big pieces. I've had enough share of baklava living close to Dearborn, and this was the worst thing ever. I rarely throw anything, but this had to go. Awful. The owner seemed like a very nice person, but unfortunately with those prices and small amount of food, I can't give more stars. There is nothing expensive in those ingredients either, so this is surprising. If it only the taste was good... not either. Sorry

The building is in bad shape, and you can see they are working on it, but I imagine that, like everyone else, COVID changed things for them, and the improvements are slow or halted. The worst offense is probably the bathroom ceilings, and the fact that those bathrooms aren't heated. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has slipped in some cases too. The pita and toum are still THE BEST I have had around here - hands down. When I order an olive plate, I do typically expect Mediterranean style olives, but this time I got cheap pimento-stuffed Spanish olives. The stuffed grape leaves were lovely, for the most part, great flavor. But the leaves themselves were on the tough side. The fattoush was perfect. The charbroiled deboned chicken was very tender, and the flavor was nice. The grilled vegetables were quite nice. I think our server was new/er. We had to repeat ourselves pretty frequently, and ask for basic things like silverware and napkins. She seemed confused a lot and like she wasn't terribly familiar with the menu. She was, however, friendly and accommodating.

Website Request,…read more Dear Magdy, I am a regular customer at your store on Corunna Road and truly appreciate the quality of your halal meats, international imports, and your B. Haleeb dairy products. I'm writing today because I would love to see your business grow even further, and I think a dedicated website would be a great next step. The physical ambiance is really aesthetic. The store is massive and it I has everything you could look for. In fact, you guys are the only place my father recommends for authentic sesame oil. Many customers in the Flint area look for specialty Egyptian and international groceries online before they visit. A website would make it much easier for us to see your latest inventory, check store hours, and even place advance orders for pickup. I would personally recommend using Shopify or WooCommerce. These are globally recognized leaders in e-commerce that are very user-friendly and would give you full control over your store's digital identity. Please do NOT use Wix as they are Israeli. I believe a digital storefront would bring in many new customers who are searching for the unique products only Sindbad Foods Market provides. Thank you for all you do for our community! Best regards, A loyal customer out of state.
