I went to Halbleib because I bought a salvage titled car and the guy I bought it from suggested we go there because we needed a Salvage inspection and Halbleib does those. I couldn't help but notice how busy and efficient they were but not too busy to where they couldn't get us in and out of there quickly. I got to talking to the owner about another car I had and he knew exactly what was wrong without even needing to see the car. I was expecting to pay around $500 for the fixes I needed but to my surprise he only charged me $200. I am thoroughly impressed with the work they did and will continue to make the 45 minute drive there for future car needs. They are worth the trip. These guys really saved me when I was in a tight spot after an accident in December. I was in my first ever car accident, which happened on a snowy day that the city was not prepared for. Their tow truck happened to be nearby and waited while the police took information for a report. I got to sit in their warm truck and they even drove me home. They took care of everything with filing a claim for reimbursement through my insurance company and I had no issues at all there. Actually my name is Aaron Sloan. My ex-wife was Erin S. Just clarifying so they know exactly who posted this. I have spent over 1000 dollars and still not finished from 6+k in damages from the estimate on my car that I left there on a Wednesday afternoon and Geico estimated 15 days to repair it and then was told it was done the next Tues.morning. Corners cut? Anyone with half of a brain would agree. I asked where's my new rim damaged in the accident? Oh sorry here is another Geico adjuster present standing next to my car. Owner says my adjuster Tom Fletcher is an asshole and that the guy present standing next to my car was fair and he said he would get me a rim. And the owner also promised the rim regardless and when I asked how much more to do some touch up paint work he said FREE! Long as I would bring my business to them, from now on. He surely noticed that my inspection was up soon as he promised me BOTH! Then I NEVER heard another word from them again since Dec.2016. And still have not been able to afford to fix all of the damage done in the accident that they overlooked due to quick in and out. I had to buy a new battery 3 days later when my car wouldn't start. Whatever mechanic worked on my car forgot to plug in the power cord to my new radiator cooling fan and my car overheated and had to spend money to get a diagnosis why it was overheating and was a simple wire not plugged in. So also proof it was never even tested to see if the new fan worked . This was a front end collision and then I had and still have a loud clicking sound coming from my front wheel where the rim wasn't replaced. When I took it elsewhere for inspection soon after due to no reply from multiple messages left for the owner gone without a reply? Rather than bother with them after speaking with an ex-employee, I realized I was screwed. So then I had a broken tie rod not noticed or added to my estimate and anyone knows you need an alignment when you replace a tie rod so another 300 bucks total. But still have the clicking noise or loud tapping and my friend said it's either The CV joint or a bent control arm. But couldn't tell without it on a lift . So now will end up spending a fortune to finally get my car back to perfect operating condition like it was before one of their tow truck drivers just happened to be standing there in downtown Pittsburgh during rush hour with a walkie. Waiting to prey on me. But I still haven't gotten to the most corrupt part. Geico paid them from my estimate to recharge my A.C. since it was obvious that it was routine when my radiator, cooling fan, and coolant tank were all destroyed. But guess what happened when I went to actually USE my A.C. a couple months later once winter broke? Hot air. So I took it to Ryan's Auto/Goodyear in Moon. Twp., and explained everything to them. They said well I can't imagine they would have not recharged your system with refrigerant. So I paid for a diagnosis and dye ran thru the system and nice of them to only charge me 75 bucks and guess what? Cold air!!! NO LEAKS! SO THEY NEVER EVEN RECHARGED MY A.C. Crooks! And guess what else ? I AM AN UBER DRIVER FOR 2PLUS YEARS NOW AND UBER HAS THEIR TEST TRACK BLOCKS AWAY FROM THIS SHOP IN HAZELWOOD JUST BEHIND THE RAILROAD TRACKS! I have driven Uber employees there too many times to count and as well as them? I tell ALL of my riders to NEVER take their car here no matter what. read more

Got t-boned by a texter-and-driver on a weekend; a Halblieb's truck showed up at the scene first and towed me to the shop. I was originally planning to have my car fixed with another shop that I have used in the past, but man am I glad I gave Halblieb's a chance. Don't let the atmosphere or Scotch Bottom location sketch you out. They had serious damage fixed in less than two weeks, detailed my car to a level of cleanliness it hasn't seen since I drove it off the lot, and gave me a certificate for a free inspection (or detailing, customer's discretion) any time in the next year (which I will definitely be using). They do in-house rentals, which cost me nothing beyond what the insurance covers. Can't say the same for Hertz or Enterprise. Halblieb's goes out of their way to save the customer money. My first and last time ever going to this place. NO ONE SHOULD GO TO HALBLEIB'S AUTOMOTIVE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISRESPECTED, INSULTED BY THEIR MALE MANAGER, OR END UP WITH POOR QUALITY REPAIRS.Halbleib's automotive manager, female office staff members are very impolite people. I scheduled to have my van's body work done and they called and told me it was done and when I arrived, I noticed that the work was incomplete. I pointed out to them the areas and they seemed mad. I am paying money yet they don't want to do a good job. The driver door was unevenly finished, there were rough grooves on the door and the guys (BJ and John) I showed it to were acting like it was a crime to show them what terrible job they did on the finish of the door. BJ (mechanic/bodywork person) boasted that they do a very good job with their work, yet my door was done poorly, they didn't smooth the damaged areas before painting it and that's their grading of very good body work, SMH. BJ told me to bring back the van the next week on Wednesday so they could fix the work they did not do well on the driver door and glue the parts on the windshield that were sticking out which they had not fixed properly. THE MALE MANAGER IS A TOTAL SCUM, he does not know how to provide customer service. He was standing outside doing something on a car as I was putting my kids' car seats into my van. I asked him and the guy standing next to him if someone could get BJ for me please. He turns around and said to me in an angry tone, "He's in the back there. Wasn't he just out here?". I said to him, "yes, but what does that have to do with anything? I need to ask him something and I didn't want to leave my kids alone out here. What are you? Like 40 something and you are acting like a child, all I needed was to see if someone could call BJ for me. You don't need to be mean about it. If you did want to do it, you didn't have to be nasty about it." Then he said, "I am 39 and I am mad you calling me old." As he walked across the road to the other repair building, then he returns to the car be was working on. I went into the office building and I saw BJ, I told him that o don't think I want to bring my business to them anymore. I told him what happened outside with their manager and he said there was nothing he could do about it. He said, "you are probably just having a bad day." I said to him, "I am not having a bad day, just being insulted by the guy outside because I asked for help for someone to call you as I was struggling to put the car seats in and didn't want to leave my kids alone. He was acting like a child and I asked him how old he was and told him to act his age." He said the owner of the repair shop John was out till Tuesday Aug 13th, 2019 and would talk to him about it when he returned. This whole thing with the manager insulting me happened on Friday Aug 9th, 2019. I left with a guy named John following me in his car to my house to get the money for the remaining half of the body work repairs because I had forgotten the money on my couch when I had left to pick up the van. Also, they charge 5% fee if paying with card and I was not going to give them 5% for free. When I got home, I called the office to ask office staff Amy a question and the office manager answered the phone and he commenced to yell at me as I tried to ask if Amy was available. I told him he didn't have to be yelling at me. He continued to yell to me on the phone, "You can dish it but you can't take it, huh? Is John still out there with you? Give him the money. They should not have let you take the car without paying for it in full. You don't even have the money." I said to him, " I have the money in my hands, I just need to ask Amy about the remaining work that needs to be done when I return" THE MANAGER HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME AS I WAS STILL TALKING. I called back to get Amy and he answered the phone again, and continued to yell at me, "you keep calling." I said to him, "you hung up on me as I was trying to tell you that I wanted to speak with Amy." Then Amy got on the phone and I asked her what I needed to and she told me to tell John who was waiting for the money to write down the things that still needed to be done on paper for me. Then I went out and counted the cash infront of John and he wrote on a paper and gave to me that I paid the remaining balance and also about the remaining work that had to be done when I brought the van back to them. Then I took it to them as planned, they said it might be an all day job and this was around 10:30a, then at 1:46p I received a call from office staff stating that the repairs were completed. I picked up my van but they had closed and I noticed that the door still was not completely fixed. read more

Best customer service ever! My car was hit while it was parked on my street in Mt Washington at 7 am while I was getting ready for work. I didn't hear or see anything, but walked outside about an hour later to a tow truck driver from Halblieb was waiting for me to come to my car. He had towed the girl who hit me, and came back to my car to leave a note with her name / insurance on it. He was so so friendly and helpful. He towed my car and even offered to drive me to work. Once I got to the auto body shop, the office workers at Halblieb helped me contact my insurance and got everything sorted out for me so quickly and with no effort on my part. They not only towed me and were fixing my car, but they gave me a rental car as well. This is the first time that I've ever been in any type of car accident, and the people at Halblieb offered me great advice as if I were not just a customer, but a family member or friend. Throughout the process of repairing my car, they checked in with me several times letting me know the progress of my car and how the insurance claim was going. They fixed my car very quickly and I can't even tell there was any damage to it at all. When my car was finished being repaired, they even offered to bring it to me. I didn't want to trouble them since they had already done so much for me, so I went to get my car myself. When I went to pick my car up, they had cleaned it inside and out! Again they were friendly and accommodating.
