Across the street from Walmart if you need groceries or something along your long I-95 journey. It's a clever way to draw tourism for I-95. They call themselves "the birthplace of independence" hmm as a Philadelphian I feel we have claim to that slogan. I rummaged through the brochures available outside to see what they had to support their claims and I can't say they brought it. In their favor, they do have a cryptozoology museum which my kid would like. Anyway very clever means of drawing traffic and piquing curiosity. Dog runs open later than the visitor center, which is helpful. As far as I could tell they don't lock the gates so probably available throughout the evening. The fences are 4' high so you can jump them if it's 2am and your dog is desperate to run. It was a bit of a cluster-f getting from 95 to this place amidst too much crammed into too little space around 95. This lot was okay but all around it were undersized lots and econo-sized parking spaces so they can accommodate every fast food chain in the nation. read more

Misleading...Silly us... didn't put it n our GPS. Once we got off the exit, the sign said to make a left and then another left at 2nd light. Sounded simple enough...but in total it's a good 10 mins from the exit. read more

That was an odd experience. Searched for a dog park off 95 and found this one. There were even SIGNS off of I-95 so we were ready for an impressive park! Couldn't have been more wrong. It was tiny, and located in the middle of a fast food restaurant's parking lot. Plus side it was clean, had water, and some chairs to sit but I cannot even begin to express how small it was... especially to have justified a sign off I-95! read more

We were travelling home and had been in the car for quite a while. We knew that our pup needed to get out and run for a bit. We saw the signs for this dog park on the highway and decided to stop. There are two fenced in areas here with plenty of room for some dogs to run around. Sometimes, that is all you need and in our case, this is exactly what was needed. The Welcome center was closed when we arrived but there are several fast food joints nearby so we were able to pick up some food and use restrooms there. This is a great stop for anyone travelling with a pet. Had the welcome center been open, we could have all got out, stretched our legs and used the restroom but the most important thing for us, was to let Luca run and get some of his energy out, before continuing on our journey south. read more

Stoped in to stretch our legs after driving for a few hours. We were greeted by a friendly man who asked if he could help us. He told us to look around and if we had any questions he'd be happy to answer them. If you have a dog, this place is a must stop. There were free doggie biscuits and balls. There was also a huge dog run that I noticed a few people using with their dogs. A little tricky to get to off hwy 95 but well worth the stop. There were plenty of pamphlets and maps coupons, books,souvenirs inside the center. The bathrooms were spotless! Super bright and clean. There also was an EV charging station in the parking lot. We took advantage of it and charged up the car while we had a coffee. There is a huge Walmart across the street if you need anything. There are also a few fast food around if you're hungry. read more

Small place but not bad to let your dog out on a trip. In a good area close to 95 and stores.

The food there is not even cooked right they gave me a mid steak and the people there is are so mean.

This place is AWESOME!!! Nice place to get info, use the restrooms & a off-leash DOG PARK!!! Next door to a Starbucks!! We will be making this a regular stop as we travel north and south!!! Amenities: 2 Separate fenced areas (one for large dogs and one for small) Poo bags, Water access, Trash cans, Free Dog bones and Paw wipes inside. Adirondack Chairs, benches and picnic tables for us humans and nice shady spots to "chillax" in between playing. The building itself has lots of travel information, the staff we met were very nice, clean restrooms and a nice large parking lot! Wish Florida would catch on with these places at the welcome center!!!! Simply wonderful!!!!! read more

We decided to stop at the Visitor Center after seeing a billboard on I95 and are so glad we did! Our two dogs loved the dog park which was well maintained and divided into two fenced in sections. There were tennis balls and bones for pups to enjoy inside the center. The indoor facilities were clean and spacious and the employee at the desk was incredibly nice and helpful. We will be sure to stop here again on future road trips! read more

Only open M-F 9-5 (welcome ctr) the dog run is open any time, 2 separate runs. Not worth the stop, basic run, u can walk/run your dogs off leash but it's not worth an additional stop if u can run your dog on a leash at a rest stop. They have a electric car power station, dog bag dispenser, nearby food, gas & walmart across the street. Our dog sniffed but did her business outside the fenced area as there were dogs in one of the runs & the woman was yelling at us to 'don't bring your dog by the fence' we still had our dog on her leash & in an empty run. By far this is the best dog run right of I-95. The welcome center has regular M-F 9-5 hours but you can use the dog park anytime. It states it closes at dusk but I have been there several times later at night when driving with my pup and she needs a quick break. There are two sections, for little and bigger dogs, and it is plenty of space for a quick run while you are travelling. It is not meant to replace a full dog park. They provide waste bags if needed and the water pump is always on and there is a bowl there for you. The best part about it is when the visitor center is open you can bring your dog in with you while you use the facilities and there are little treats available. The staff is extremely friendly and has been helpful when I have had questions. They also have a large selection of brochures and coupons. There are several sit down restaurants, fast food places, Starbucks and a Walmart right there as well. read more

Found this little gem from signs heading up 95. Decided to stop and let Pepper out for a poop. He was the only pup at the time, but he didn't seem to mind. The area is cute, even though it is really on the front lawn of the Visitors Center. There are 2 fenced in areas, one for small dogs, and one for bigger dogs. Both have Adirondack chairs for pup parents to cop a squat while their fur babies sniff each other. There are a few picnic tables with umbrellas where you could chill out and take a break from a long drive. There is also a dispenser for poop bags, and a big barrel of water for refreshing. My only complaint: the barrel of water is in direct sunlight and at the entry gate. The barrel was overrunning, which created a muddy path to walk through. Would be nice if it were under the trees to keep somewhat cool and away from the entrance. read more

This place is so random, only stopped because they have billboards up advertising on the drive down 95. Right off the highway, in front of a giant Walmart, sits this Welcome Center. I have no idea where they are welcoming you to, but it has the following: - nice people inside greeting you - clean bathrooms - a freaking grass off leash dog park out back, well stocked with hose, water bowls, etc. - next door to a Starbucks and Chick-fil-a Seriously what else do you need? If you're traveling down or up 95 with your pup, this is a perfect stop. read more

I've never actually been in the visitors center, but discovering this dog park changed my life! I'm able to stop on trips on 95 and let the dogs out and run free for a bit, which makes mom and pups happy since tired dogs are more relaxed... And they get to leave pee mail which is their absolute most favorite thing in the entire world, after peanut butter. There is also a big and small dog side which is awesome. There are gas stations nearby, a walmart across the street, Starbucks and various restaurants in the immediate area and other restaurants on the highway nearby. I tell all my dog friends who travel on 95 about this park. YAY for animal lovers! The only downside is that the fence is only 4 ft tall. Everyone should be constantly observing their pet anyways, but a 6 ft fence would make me feel more secure, but beggars can't be choosers and I appreciate that there is even a dog park to begin with. read more

Such an amazing find! we usually stop in this area on our way south and usually walk our dog near the starbucks. so, on our way there we saw this new visitors center with a dog run! so, we got food and came back to the dog park and let our dog play with another couples dog while we ate at the picnic tables. fresh water, dog bowls, poop bags, and free dog treats inside the visitors center! read more

We had travelled 14 hours with our 2 dogs when we happened upon this little oasis. It had 2 ample fenced in areas, bags for clean up, fresh water, clean bowls, benches to sit on, shaded areas, a tennis ball and frisbee. Sensible rules, clearly posted. Several "locals" showed up while we were there--friendly people. Inside: clean restrooms, excellent coffee, knowledgable, sweet staff. This place is a wee bit off the beaten path, but very well worth the jaunt if you are traveling with dogs. Loved it. read more

We just started to stop here for one main reason, they advertised on the highway they had a dog run and since we needed to stop on the way back to New York we figured this would be a good place. I went into the visitor center to quickly use the bathroom and was welcomed by lovely young lady behind the desk. On my way out she offered me some dog biscuits and bags of peanuts. They also had a large variety of information local to the area for travelers.The dog run was clean and they had separated them for small and big dogs. My two dogs had a great time there. Definitely recommend making this a stop off the highway. read more

Extremely disappointed!! These pictures are not even close to what this place really is like!! It sits in the middle of a commercial busy district. We stopped by on a Sunday and the center was closed! The grounds whooped like they had not been mowed in awhile. I was extremely frustrated because this was a planned stop based on the Yelp reviews and pictures.. Also had another family meeting us there with their dog and told them not to come.. Wish I would have taken pictures to post.. Sorry.. RECOMMENDATION FOR A BETTER STOP - if coming from 95N stop at 1st rest stop after entering North Carolina (many grassy areas, picnic tables, bathrooms) - very clean too! read more

This place is an absolute God-send! I drive with my 3 dogs to and from DC and Charleston. It's about halfway for us. So great to have a place to stretch all 14 of our legs! Fresh water, poop bags, and trash cans. Nice bathroom for me, too. read more

We are currently on evacuation orders for hurricane Irma and our dogs have been crammed into our small car for 10 hours, so we decided to stop here. Great decision! The dog run isn't huge, but it is absolutely big enough for my German Shepard and Pitbull to stretch their legs. The staff here was kind and accommodating and the restrooms were clean. It was super convenient being right off the interstate, and it was a much needed resting place on a long and stressful journey. We will definitely stop again on our way back to Tampa! 5 stars!
