When you walk into Halletts, you immediately agreed with a warm and friendly environment. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of: the food is delicious and doesn't break the bank. And there is always something wonderful to check out in the shop. I called on friday afternoon (very last minute) to inquire about a large platter of sandwiches for the next day. Amy was amazing and within an hour or so they had it completed and they were delicious. We recommend them for catering highly. I have been a neighbor to this place for so many years and what a shame I have never stopped in. I was absolutely and pleasantly surprised when we walked in and it was so welcoming and the place just radiates pride and joy. There are so many gift able goodies inside that are very reasonably priced. It's like a pinch of the PNW was plopped right in the middle of the valley. So many samples throughout. Beautifully curated gift baskets (and they will happily ship for you!!!). Amazing selections of specialty candies and dips and wines. It was such a delight to browse. And the food was so good! Tucked in the back is a lovely little deli with tasty options. We got the green goddess grilled cheese Ruben panini and chicken and dumpling soup and left happy as can be. The staff are really what makes it such a pleasure though. Everyone was so kind and silly and willing to help it was lovely. We shall be back!!! read more

You order at the counter and then pick a table. Quick service. Food is good. I only gave it 4 stars because there's not cream or milk for coffee. Just the artificial coffee mate syrup. And the prices are slightly high for what you get. read more

I know that some of you may have never gotten out of your car to get your java bean fix, but this is worth it. Hallet's has been going since 1978. There are all kinds of unique food and wine gifts here, and the seating area is nice and open, very cozy looking. So, the coffee. Great balance of coffee, chocolate, flavor, and foam. The flavors all kind of hit you at once but distinctly so you enjoy each one. I also got an apple strudel, and it is good, yessir. While I was waiting I was perusing the lunch menu, and I am pretty sure I will hit this location again. Then I noticed the lasagna and I am 100% sure I will be back. I am like Garfield where lasagna is concerned. They also have coupons online www.halletts.com, so go print you one and enjoy. Prices in store are really good btw. In this crazy time of the Coronavirus, times are uncertain. My heart goes out to ALL of the small business out there offering their AMAZINGNESS to all of their local communities. Just know that we as a general public love what you do! Stay strong through this and we will support you to the best of our abilities! Ok, with that being said, if you can STOP HERE AND ORDER THIS FOOD AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! There is an INCREDIBLE amount of sandwiches available. I, however, am a sucker for Pasta salads. I couldn't decide which flavor I wanted as they all looked delicious! So I ordered a small portion of each batch that they currently had fresh! I was not disappointed!! I took pictures of each of the pastas we got for lunch! Dilled Chicken Pasta salad, Tortellini Pasta salad, Bacon Mac Pasta salad & Garden Pesto Pasta salad!!! I also read about their amazing pies, we were able to order 2 individual pieces of their Chocolate Cream pie and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Additionally, they had "Grab bags" of chocolates, so we got a couple of those too! They threw in 2 little bags of fresh popcorn too!! Absolutely love!! This is my first time here, just found it through Yelp. And wow can't believe I've been missing all of this. Who doesn't love a good Sammy and some soup or pasta salad?? Hallets blows caseys place out of the water! And the staff is kind! I had a chicken pesto sandwich along side some dill pasta salad. Salad was fantastic. Sand which is fresh and chicken is cooked thoroughly with out drying out. Pesto is full of flavor. Cute little shop full of wine, dried soup mix, beer, gift baskets, even espresso. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Sandwiches, salads, and soup. All made in house and fresh! Great service, and the food always delicious. Now, I also need to mention that it's a great place to come if you're looking for stocking stuffers, or putting together a gift basket for somebody you care about. Lots of yummy things to try, and most of them To be locally sourced. Always a great change of pace Versus the Mc-chain fast food. read more

This place is so cute. I got the green goddess sandwich and it was so yummy. My husband got the grilled chicken and said it was good as well. The sandwich alone was $5.99 and $8.99 if you add a pasta salad or soup. A little overpriced for what you get. read more

Great vibes inside and it's a real friendly, family-owned joint with loads of local history. I ultimately think this is why the review scores are so highly inflated. Bottom line? The food isn't very good. Yikes! Cheap bread, crappy imitation butter, high prices, small portions. Quality is on par with a decent catered box lunch. Meats are yummy and high quality, but precious few razor thin slices adorn each sandwhich. The mac and cheese sandwich is a fun concept done in the cheapest way possible. Cheap white bread, fake butter, artifical cheese product and so it goes. The chocolates are pretty atrocious. We plunked down around $20 for a few and were surprised with all the artificial flavors and poor quality. For example, they're made with corn syrup instead of sugar. My wife insists they're not "real chocolates." I cannot agree entirely, but see her point when compared to what a good chocolatier puts out. It's basically a step down from Russell Stovers IMO. Again, service was great. People are friendy. Local charm up the butt. Still, the food is mediocre and expensive. Chocolates are actively bad. I can't see around this one. The gift shop possibilities are there, but prices are off the chain and selection is geared to Aunt Mildred and the mall walking set. read more

I'm giving this three stars only because the people are very friendly. The food however is not good. Two stars at best. It is your standard deli sandwich on cheap bread. The turkey is very salty. They charge extra for tomato. Subway doesn't even do this. I asked for spinach and did see a couple small pieces of green. It would not break the bank to put a little more on and fill the sandwiche up. If you're okay with a standard deli sandwich which most of America is, then you will think ok. read more

What a great deli and market. We stopped in for some unique Washington beer and the sandwiches were great too. Fresh foccacia from a local bakery and fresh salads. I loved my French Dip sandwich! The deli specials are very reasonable -Yay. The owner, Cindy is a real gem. We got some beer for a special event and Cindy donated a sixer to the local AgForestry organization. Found this quaint little gem via yelp. Decided to come in and give it a try. First off, it's a quirky store with a bit of everything. The "ladies" behind the counter were so nice and pleasant. I felt like I was at moms house and they wanted to take care of us. I got the grilled mac and cheese. It came wit a side of hot sauce. It was an amazing mac and cheese sandwich. The mac and cheese is absolutely home made and was filling. I got a side of chicken and fill pasta salad. My wife ate most of it off of my plate. It was an amazing side. My wife ordered a BLT, just ok, could use more bacon, and a broccoli and cheese soup. The broccoli and cheese soup was amazing too. We will definitely eat here again. What a great find on day one of our trip to the Pacific Northwest. read more

This adorable little shop/café has it all: Great service- the employees are very friendly and helpful Great food- we had the green goddess and the chicken pesto sandwich with a side of potato cheese soup. It was filling and delicious. Great selection of products- I love chocolate, cheese, and tea, and Hallett's has plenty of them for me. They also carry jams, spices, soups, and more. Great little find... Thank you yelp. Was looking for nice little place to have lunch while in spokane. Great sandwiches. Me and my wife had the mac and cheese with bacon sandwich, came with a buffalo ranch dipper. Also had the mac and cheese pasta salad and she had the dill chicken pasta salad. My salad was great, hers on other hand i think lacked just little more salt and pepper but that was on our table so problem solved. Will definetly be back when we come back to area. I couldn't tell if this place was a gift shop, deli, or cafe. Very cheap, outdated and confusing decor. Food in the cases did not look fresh. Sandwiches were mediocre at best and I had an upset stomach the rest of the day. Will not be returning. read more

Established in 1979.

Started with a Strawberry and Raspberry farm. Then started making Peanut Butter Crunch and Almond Crunch. Later open a retail/restaurant. We split the business and my brother in law started making fine chocolates for us and we started a deli and gift basket business.

I happily paid around $20 because they genuinely felt special. Today I ordered them like I always do, only to discover after leaving that they've completely changed. They're now just egg, cheese, and chorizo with pickled onions. No one mentioned that they were no longer vegetarian or that the recipe had changed so drastically. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I had no choice but to throw them away, so I ended up wasting $20 on a breakfast I couldn't even eat. I'm honestly really disappointed. I understand menus evolve, but when a longtime menu staple changes this much, especially from vegetarian to meat, it should be communicated clearly when ordering or at least noted prominently on the menu. Beyond that, the new version just doesn't justify the price anymore. It feels like a completely different product, and unfortunately not for the better. This isn't meant to be a harsh review because I've loved Ladder Coffee for years. These tacos were genuinely one of my favorite breakfasts in Spokane, which is why this was so disappointing. I just wish the change had been communicated. Going from a vegetarian taco loaded with fresh ingredients to a chorizo taco is a huge difference, and I would've ordered something else had I known. I hope you'll consider bringing the original version back or offering both options.

Shortly after I placed my initial review, someone who doesn't live in the area posted how they didn't understand the "other reviews" (I was the only one at the time) because they come in all the time and the place is great. Yeah. They come in all the time. From the other side of Washington State. Hmmm, yeah, not a fake reviewer who probably are person friends of the business owner at all. Totally legit. Response from the business owner themselves elsewhere was flippant and sarcastic. And completely ignored my suggestion that as a place that sells food, they should focus on selling food that actually tastes good. I know, I am weird, I happen to like food that is prepared well and tastes good. I imagine this bistro is going to have the same bad luck as the last three ideas that didn't last very long here.

Towards the end of putting our order together, another employee came to help. I also felt we were kinda rushed out of there. So much so, that after we were handed our food, out the door, and almost to the car-- an employee came running out with a box in her hand. She forgot to give us one of our slices. The berry scone was pretty good. It was dense, moist, and cooked perfectly. I was excited to try the rhubarb custard pie, but unfortunately it fell short for me. The rhubarb wasn't tart at all, giving it a real subtle taste. Possibly could have used too much sugar to cut the tartness. The custard and crust part wasn't bad. I could taste the nutmeg and cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. The blueberry cheesecake tart had great flavor. It wasn't too cheesy nor sugary. Preferably, I wished it had a bit more blueberry topping. The crust was interesting--it was good and I think it had nuts, oatmeal, and coconut mixed into it. My friend said his lemon tart was really good but that the winner was the chocolate chip cookie. He said it was on the softer side and filled with mini sweet chocolate chips that he really enjoyed. For now, I'll continue my quest in search of yummy pies in CDA and Spokane.

Cute little family gift shop/restaurant. They have everything you could want in one spot. Wine, beer, food and chocolate. Salads are made fresh daily, sandwiches and meals are made when ordered so you know they are fresh and they have their own chocolate factory so chocolates are high quality and don't sit on shelves. Prices are great when comparing to other sandwich shops. Customer service is great and everyone is friendly! A lot of the decor is handmade and makes it feel very personal in there. Gift baskets have something for everyone and I like the fact you can customize it if you want. Overall, great family place.
