When you walk into Halletts, you immediately agreed with a warm and friendly environment. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of: the food is delicious and doesn't break the bank. And there is always something wonderful to check out in the shop. I have been a neighbor to this place for so many years and what a shame I have never stopped in. I was absolutely and pleasantly surprised when we walked in and it was so welcoming and the place just radiates pride and joy. There are so many gift able goodies inside that are very reasonably priced. It's like a pinch of the PNW was plopped right in the middle of the valley. So many samples throughout. Beautifully curated gift baskets (and they will happily ship for you!!!). Amazing selections of specialty candies and dips and wines. It was such a delight to browse. And the food was so good! Tucked in the back is a lovely little deli with tasty options. We got the green goddess grilled cheese Ruben panini and chicken and dumpling soup and left happy as can be. There are all kinds of unique food and wine gifts here, and the seating area is nice and open, very cozy looking. So, the coffee. Great balance of coffee, chocolate, flavor, and foam. The flavors all kind of hit you at once but distinctly so you enjoy each one. I also got an apple strudel, and it is good, yessir. While I was waiting I was perusing the lunch menu, and I am pretty sure I will hit this location again. Then I noticed the lasagna and I am 100% sure I will be back. Hallets blows caseys place out of the water! And the staff is kind! I had a chicken pesto sandwich along side some dill pasta salad. Salad was fantastic. Great vibes inside and it's a real friendly, family-owned joint with loads of local history. I ultimately think this is why the review scores are so highly inflated. Bottom line? The food isn't very good. Yikes! Cheap bread, crappy imitation butter, high prices, small portions. Quality is on par with a decent catered box lunch. Meats are yummy and high quality, but precious few razor thin slices adorn each sandwhich. The mac and cheese sandwich is a fun concept done in the cheapest way possible. Cheap white bread, fake butter, artifical cheese product and so it goes. The chocolates are pretty atrocious. We plunked down around $20 for a few and were surprised with all the artificial flavors and poor quality. For example, they're made with corn syrup instead of sugar. My wife insists they're not "real chocolates." I cannot agree entirely, but see her point when compared to what a good chocolatier puts out. It's basically a step down from Russell Stovers IMO. Again, service was great. People are friendy. Local charm up the butt. Still, the food is mediocre and expensive. Chocolates are actively bad. I can't see around this one. The gift shop possibilities are there, but prices are off the chain and selection is geared to Aunt Mildred and the mall walking set. read more

They charge extra for tomato. Subway doesn't even do this. I asked for spinach and did see a couple small pieces of green. It would not break the bank to put a little more on and fill the sandwiche up. If you're okay with a standard deli sandwich which most of America is, then you will think ok. read more

Found this quaint little gem via yelp. Decided to come in and give it a try. First off, it's a quirky store with a bit of everything. The "ladies" behind the counter were so nice and pleasant. I felt like I was at moms house and they wanted to take care of us. I got the grilled mac and cheese. It came wit a side of hot sauce. It was an amazing mac and cheese sandwich. The mac and cheese is absolutely home made and was filling. I got a side of chicken and fill pasta salad. My wife ate most of it off of my plate. It was an amazing side. My wife ordered a BLT, just ok, could use more bacon, and a broccoli and cheese soup. The broccoli and cheese soup was amazing too. We will definitely eat here again.
