The food is pricey for the portions and quality. I've always been more hungry than satisfied, after eating here. The service is usually friendly, but more strict than a Starbucks. I don't get why there's a no outdoor food/drink policy. Starbucks doesn't care so why do they? I brought in an outdoor drink and was told immediately that wasn't allowed. I felt bad enough to buy a muffin, even though I didn't want one. I'd rather support Starbucks than this business. I want to relax and connect with people, when I go out to restaurants or businesses. So glad we came! Small but quaint, great for small groups. Ordering is easy: stand in line, place an order, & find a table; they'll bring out your food = easy. There's even a small book shop attached to the eatery if you want to browse around while you wait. Their house coffee is on the mild side IMO, there's no aroma when I received it. But their food hit the spot: Continental Kick and Loaded Hashbrown. If you like breakfast sandwich with egg the try this sandwich, you enjoy all the flavor without the egg falling out or egg yolk dripping. The loaded hash brown can be consider a small portion if you have a big appetite (but it is priced right) so thinking about ordering two or add/try a different dish. My college roommate and I came back into town to check out some of our old haunts on campus. Come lunchtime we were looking for somewhere pleasant where we might be able to eat outdoors. The Mason Jar fit the bill. We sat outside, although the interior of the restaurant was very cute and we would've been happy there, too. Service was fast and efficient. We should have just picked this place for lunch in the first place. We were out to try some Hawaiian food when we found the place to be closed. Across the street sat the Mason Jar. Fabulous array of breakfast, lunch, and beverage options. I tried the "Mediterranean" sandwich. Loved it. The sandwich is a turkey, artichoke heart, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, and tomato mayo on focaccia bun. Everything on the sandwich was a compliment to the other. Usually you don't get a lot of comments about buns, but this one was outstanding. The sandwich also comes with red onions, but I took a pass on those also. I guess this place is also known for its pastries. They had a bunch to choose from, but seeing as how it was lunch, we took a hall pass... next time! It seems they also offer a lot of specialty homemade juice and coffee drinks. It was late mid morning, but there was a decent size crowd. The guy taking your order was super friendly and helpful, There looked to be only one girl in back, making the sandwiches Our order came out in about five minutes. There's options to sit inside and out. It was a gorgeous day so we chose out. They give you these awesome chips which I guess are some local thing. I have come back 6 years later to update my review. I'm so disappointed . The food was disgusting. I asked for gf bread and don't believe that's what I got. I ordered egg, hash brown and gf toast. The toast had some type of marinara on it and also some green stuff. I could not eat it as I am allergic to avocado and I am uncertain if that's what it was. The workers were nice so they get a star for that but they definitely understaffed. They have really gone down hill. read more

Update: I got an iced white chocolate mocha with some revision and a stuffed croissant with sausage, mozzarella and 1 egg. Place was pippin' today, even though I literally came at 1p. The servers were still nice, but definitely way too busy to socialize. I ordered online this time since I figured I'd have to wait awhile. It did say my food and drink would be ready at 1:05p, but it didn't. The cashier/barista said it would be another 10 minutes for my order, but I ended up being there until about 1:20p. First, I love the atmosphere. Not only is the staff very friendly, but so are all the customers. I walked in and everyone looked up and smiled almost in unison. It's kept very clean and there are cute decorations throughout. I ordered a hot 16 oz hazelnut and vanilla latte and the Mediterranean sandwich that came with chips and a pickle. The sandwich was much bigger than I thought it would be. I also ordered a HUGE (as big as my head) peanut butter cookie to take home to the kids. The total was $21 with a tip which made the penny pincher in me scream but it was worth every penny. Sooooo good! It took a while to get my food but they were slammed when I came in around noon on a Wednesday. I've lived in Cheney for a little over 2 years and I'm finally coming in after driving by thousands of times. I will definitely be back. read more

I do not frequent this place. Their coffee is only okay, and their snacks are all too expensive even before everything got like that. A work friend came out to Cheney to visit family, but wanted to meet me for coffee beforehand. It's was the same experience I had years ago. They do not treat all people the same. They are all smiles and helpful if somebody is wearing designer clothing, or some of those fancy spandex bicycle rider outfits, but locals that come in just in street clothes are treated very indifferently. And those people are mostly seniors, sadly. I did not mention this to my friend, but next time if she wants to meet I'll steer her to the nice coffee shop around the corner. There is a cute little bakery/coffee shop on the main street in Cheney that I kept passing by and knew I had to stop in before I left for Phoenix. Sadly, time wasn't with me, so I was only able to run in real quick to grab some items before headed to the airport. The Mason Jar is soo cute, I wish I had more time to just sit and enjoy a bite to eat. But I was able to pick up a berry filled sweet roll and an iced coffee to go. The berry roll survived making it though TSA check point and once I got to my gate, I took a bite of roll with no shame, soo good! Really cute little shop, lots of seating. We had a WONDERFUL latte. It was dusted with rose petals. I really love shops like this were you can self serve all your utensils, water and condiments. It really helps cut down on unnecessary waste and made the cafe have a at home vibe. Besides being self serving the staff made sure we had everything we needed and were very quick. Showed up here to do some homework. I'm a EWU grad (Go Eags!), but I never went here as a student. Walked in, the two nice ladies behind the bar were swamped with customers, so it did take a bit get the food and drink that I ordered. I ordered the Mason Jar latte, if you're wondering it does come in a small mason jar, and a breakfast sandwich that has garlic aioli, which was amazing. The wait was worth it. Charmed in Cheney! I have had this place bookmarked forever and finally got in to check it out. I was not disappointed as it was very cool. Definitely worth driving out to Cheney to visit. I would compare it to Rockwood Bakery or Madeline's in Spokane. Coffee, tea, sandwiches, salads, baked goods, beer, wine, artisan baguettes, brunch, etc. Some unique menu items I saw were the P.N.W. which is mint tea, chocolate and steamed milk. I went there for brunch on a Sunday. There were quite a few people there. The place was so noisy it was hard to talk with people at my table. Bad acoustics. I had their bagel which came with cream cheese. It was tasty and quite large. If you didn't want coffee they offered some weird brand fruit soda. I had the lemon soda. It could have used more sugar. A bagel and soda cost more than $10. Fairly high priced. They also have outdoor seating. This place was barefoot friendly. read more
