I've been coming here for over six years almost entirely because of the vegetarian breakfast tacos. They were one of my favorite breakfasts anywhere, loaded with avocado, sprouts, pickled onions, dill, pickled radish, egg, chipotle sauce, and so much flavor. I happily paid around $20 because they genuinely felt special. Today I ordered them like I always do, only to discover after leaving that they've completely changed. They're now just egg, cheese, and chorizo with pickled onions. No one mentioned that they were no longer vegetarian or that the recipe had changed so drastically. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I had no choice but to throw them away, so I ended up wasting $20 on a breakfast I couldn't even eat. I'm honestly really disappointed. I understand menus evolve, but when a longtime menu staple changes this much, especially from vegetarian to meat, it should be communicated clearly when ordering or at least noted prominently on the menu. Beyond that, the new version just doesn't justify the price anymore. It feels like a completely different product, and unfortunately not for the better. This isn't meant to be a harsh review because I've loved Ladder Coffee for years. These tacos were genuinely one of my favorite breakfasts in Spokane, which is why this was so disappointing. I just wish the change had been communicated. Going from a vegetarian taco loaded with fresh ingredients to a chorizo taco is a huge difference, and I would've ordered something else had I known. I hope you'll consider bringing the original version back or offering both options. read more

The staff were very welcoming and helpful to each customer. At one point the main barista came by each table to check in on every customer. The actual design of the shop was sleek and not distracting in any way--many of the customers were there to work on their computers, but a couple of groups were sitting to chat. The coffee was good. I ordered a cortado, although I think it was in a glass larger than 8oz--I was expecting the traditional 4oz drink, so know that going in. Otherwise I have no complaints to the quality of product. read more

Service was ok. The person taking the order stopped and walked away in the middle to get my coffee before finishing taking the order. The food is good but the prices have gone up and the amount of food down. The value has fallen off. Breakfast or two small tacos, two single small waffles a drip coffee and a latte was $50. The building, staff and ambiance is great. My low review is that every time I have drank coffee from here I have never enjoyed the roast, by every time I mean twice and two different roasts. I have had a fancy flavored coffee and just plain coffee. It tastes burnt to me. I know many who enjoy the coffee here so maybe take my review with a grain of salt. I think it's great to support local and give it a place a try cause you never know, your tastebuds may be completely different than me. read more

THE WAFFLES. THE WAFFLES ARE AMAZING. Stopped for some coffee and tea (which were both delicious!) But so glad I tried their waffles on a whim. The matcha they used for my tea was high quality and the roast they have for their Americanos also phenomenal without any flavors needed. I can't wait to try what else they have :) Now the sweet waffles. They were $8 for which I initially thought was a little high for two little waffles but oh god were they immaculate. I don't know what they put in them - some type of caramelized bits or sugar? I'm not sure but there were some sweet crunchy bites in the middle of fluffiness!! And to top off the deliciousness was a raspberry jam. I honestly think I'll be stopping by more often just to have some waffles because I can't stop thinking about them! read more

Omg Kathryn left such a great impression! My food was made perfectly!! So so yummmmm! I got the avocado toast chile lemon and it was so tasty. And the seasonal orange tea will heal your soul. I've been here several times before and it is such great place to study - spacious, several available outlets, free wifi, not too noisy! The employees are very sweet & they have a good selection of coffee + milk alternatives. Their coffee and food are amazing but I found it very overpriced. Everything in this picture came to a total of $19, even with the coffee being an 8 oz. The avocado toast was really good but I don't know that I'd pay that much for it regularly. read more

The coffee here is super expensive, but the experience and atmosphere is great. The staff is also great. If you want to overspend for coffee this is the place to do it. My husband randomly saw photos from this coffee shop through a YouTube channel called MaxTech. He insisted that we give it a try and we have no regrets. Besides the coffee and tea menu items being unique and the fabulous, the service is exceptional. Jules, the manager, often works the drive through and makes each visit feel personal and enjoyable. We usually give her free reign to select our coffee/tea based on a few insights and she's never steered us wrong. Please, do yourself a favor and take a break from Starbucks and support a local gem. read more

Perfect ambiance for studying or working, lots of seating with easy access to outlets for charging. Slightly surprised at the cost of a drip coffee, but it was worth it for the pleasant atmosphere provided. Very cleans, cute decors (lots of plants!) and fairly quiet, although there was still music. The outdoor seating area was also very welcoming and comfortable with shade from the sun. They had some fun fall drinks available, however a little on the pricier side. Food options were decent (fairly small portions, however) with many vegan friendly items. Will return! read more

DO NOT GO TO THE VALLEY LOCATION!!! Illegal practices! Went through the drive thru on December 30th for just a drip coffee and was asked by the girl after the transaction whether I wanted to tip her. It took her 2 seconds to pour from the carafe, black, nothing special. This is rude but not the reason for the bad review. The bad review stems from the fact that she signed up my phone number to receive texts and points without my knowledge and permission. It is illegal to sign up customer phone numbers without their knowledge and especially without their consent. I received the text as I was leaving the lot. The final straw was the fact that the coffee was burnt. I drink ladder coffee every day so I know what it tastes likes when it's brewed properly...super delicious! I love love love Ladder coffee, I buy the beans whole from My Fresh Basket, and I even buy extra to send to family members and have them hooked too. I've never had any issues with the other location but am never coming back to the valley location. Save yourself a bad experience and either go to the downtown location or buy the beans to brew at home. I gave 4 stars because the actual coffee is fantastic and the workers at the downtown location are friendly. read more

I'm excited to have a more urban coffee shop in the Valley so I really want to support them! We stopped by in the afternoon during their Grand Opening and love the interior. It's a beautiful space with endless places to sit and chat or get some work done. My husband ordered a honey cinnamon latte and was happy with it. It was smooth and they did a great job steaming the milk. A little stronger coffee notes coming through would have been nice, but the latte was very well done nonetheless! I ordered the cold brew with light cream. They stated they would have me add the cream myself so I did so, put a lid on, and we walked out to the car. I took a sip and had an uh-oh face...had the cream turned sour? My husband took a sip and agreed it tasted like sour milk. I hate conflict, so I really didn't want to go back in, but I was certain the cream had spoiled so back in I went. I politely asked if perhaps the cream had gone bad or if they just make a unique cold brew (I've never had a sour nor bitter cold brew at any cafe but hey, maybe they use a unique blend). They seemed concerned and baffled so the gentleman looked at the date on the cream, determined it was fine, then sampled their cold brew and agreed it was very strong and bitter. He offered to make me an iced Americano which was very nice but I declined because I felt like it wasn't really fair to waste a beverage just because it wasn't to my liking. I did pour it out when I got home because something definitely wasn't right with it...I just couldn't stomach the intense sour taste. So, all of this to say, I rate the cold brew a 0/10; it needs a lot of work...they either need to use a different roast or it was under/overdeveloped. I don't know how many hours it had been since they made it. But, their friendliness and customer service was excellent and I will definitely be back for their lattes and bites to eat. Bonus stars for the fact that they had gluten free treats! I was not expecting that and was pleasantly surprised. I genuinely want to support local businesses like this so the Valley can continue to grow in the local food scene so one negative drink isn't going to keep me from enjoying their other offerings.
