Great variety of things to buy from. My girlfriends and I decided to buy some shirts for the upcoming Monsterpalooza. The shirts are locates at the front of the store meaning you need the girls/cashiers to get u the shirts. We were looking and looking for 10 Mins and the 3 women behind the glass never asked us if we needed help and didn't even bother to acknowledge us. We were also looking at some patches and pins in the glass cases and never once offered assistance. Store is wonderful but customer service was not there. read more

THE WORSE customer service that I've ever experienced in my life! I never met cashier, that has one job, and argue with me for extra purchase on a different card. This 3 little bit***s cashier, supervisor Chamille and a Manager (that didn't understand what's all about) didn't stop to argue for just an extra 2 transactions , there is no sign that says transactions is limited. They kind of kick us out - " just finish the transaction and leave the store" . Yo bit**** I just finish to purchase for 5 customers , did business with you guys and this is the service that me and my friends get? We went to Halloween Town and also the Halloween Time Super Store (in Glendale). The Burbank stores are MUCH nicer/have way more costumes (2 stores- 1 kid, 1 adult) and better decorations in a 3rd store on the same street. At Halloween Town you can try on the bagged costumes as long as you bring them to an employee set up a table to open the bag. I'm glad I tried one on- the costume I liked ended up being much lower quality than I expected and it saved me from buying something I would not have liked to wear on Halloween. The lines at this place and the amount of people was a bit staggering but this is definitely a good place to go to meet all of your Halloween needs. I especially liked the reprints of vintage Halloween images they had for sale in the decorations store. Really cool mid century style cutouts of witches, cats, etc. The also have a really good spread of Dia de Los Muertos decorations- we ended up with some papel picado rainbow skeletons. The paper lanterns and lights they are selling are also really cool and we grabbed a few for our party. The one downside to Halloween Town is that all sales are marked final- with no returns or exchanges. My guy purchased a skeleton costume here that seemed a bit warped when we got it home and opened it.. it must have been kind of old because the colors were off. Thought about going back and arguing to get our $50 back but he decided to skip the hassle and just wear it. Overall a good store with adequate street parking and helpful staff. read more

This place is totally awesome. I'll come in to look around just for the creepy-cool atmosphere. By the time you look at three items you know the prices are severely marked-up. As long as you find an item that you can't find anywhere else, don't feel too bad about the 50-100% mark-up. Notes: Nice staff--although they tend to follow, awkwardly. Especially if you're wearing a hoodie. No public restrooms--even if it's for a 4 year old doing the pee-dance. They don't give a crap. If you have a gift card (minimum $25) and only spend $15 of it, you will not get the remaining $10 back. You must use all of it or you will just lose the remaining portion. I worked here tops for 3 days, the owner was very nice at first but as soon as it came to actually working there it was horrid. She had microphones everywhere and she warned me about how easy it is to get fired there. We tried our hardest to make sure all customers were taken care off and spoken too but if you got caught doing anything remotely normal she would call you out on it. She talked shit about everyone and was super mean, I loved this store and use to go here at least once a week. She threatened to sue me not too long after working there if I told anyone where she got her products from, it's a nice store but the management really does a number on their employees and are really mean! read more

The Yelp reviews are true. Halloween town is horrible place to shop at due to their current employees. I'm writing this review right after I left this place because I am disgusted with their customer service. As a high class black women, I expected a better repose from their employees and their manager about their attitudes and the way that they assisted me. The first thing that went wrong is when I took off my mask for maybe 2 seconds so the employee could hear me clearly but she snipped at me and told me to put my mask back on. I then proceeded to ask her about any music pops and she just pointed carelessly to the corner where they had them and said "It's over there" with an attitude instead of walking there with me and showing me the product. When it was time for me to pay they did tell me that they don't accept American Express at the moment, the employee instead gave us improper information about not being able to accept the tap method for my American Express. She then became argumentative and rudely said the manger will have to handle this and I said "just get the manager please". When the manager arrived and asked what was going on the employee had the audacity to say "she's mad because of the type of card she's going to use..." and that's when I cut in and told her "I'm not mad, your customer service has driven to feel this way. I came in the store having a good day ready to get some cool products but you ladies have made my experience unpleasant. Who in their right mind would be upset about spending 600 dollars here willingly". After the transaction I spoke to the manager about her employees customer service and she didn't seem too interested on reprimanding them about their attitude but she did make the experience shopping a little be better. From this experience I don't think I'll be shopping at this place again but I do see what everyone was talking about in the Yelp reviews and to think I wanted my daughter to work here. read more

There is nothing quite like Burbank's Halloween Town. This year round Halloween store sells everything you can imagine that is Horror or Halloween related. I get 70% of my clothing here, haha. They have amazing T-shirts that come in many sizes. If the owners are reading this, I'd love for them to try to get more shirts in 3X. They have a great selection, but the ones I love most tend to stop at 2X. They have toys, books, collectibles, clothing, props, bags, accessories, and even have a nice sized art gallery in the back. They have some really cool original props from Disney's Haunted Mansion! In fact, you can see one of the "hitchhiking ghosts" from the ride just outside their door telling you to come inside! I almost gave this place 4 stars because they are rather pricey and a lot of what they sell could be had for cheaper online... BUT when a place is this one-of-a-kind, I feel like they get a little leeway. While street parking exists... don't forget that they have a rather large private lot behind the store, so parking shouldn't be a problem. Their hours tend to change seasonally, so make sure you call to see if they're open! They are so popular, that they actually have two other locations that are within walking distance... one that is costumes only and a kids store. So you won't find many costumes at this original location... but this is still the mothership location that has the amazing ambience and gallery in the back! Everyone should check out Halloween Town at some point... and if you're like me, you'll become a regular. read more

Such an amazing store I've always been into horror, movies, zombie/murder lore. It's great to see a store in my community, that has a year round store that caters to that. This store opened when I was in high school, and I fell in love during holloween it is a costume shop, with ever type of costume imaginable. BEWARE. THIS PLACE SELLS COUNTERFEIT FUNKO PRODUCTS. I highly encourage everyone reading this review to not shop here. STAY AWAY. I've shopped here without problems before, but my past visit takes the cake. If I could leave -100 stars I would. I bought a Freddy Krueger Glow in the Dark Funko Pop here and it turns out it was a complete fake. They think it's cool to sell counterfeit items, or maybe it was a manufacturer defect. Either way, they didn't bother caring to help or fix the situation. My boyfriend and I were treated like we were garbage. Upon walking in to return this piece of junk that I spent $54 on, we asked a guy at the door (didn't get his name, some flannel wearing hipster with a beanie) and told him our situation. He went to his manager (who i'm guessing is Jackie that all the bad reviews talk about? She's a blonde fat woman.) who he talks to for about 30 seconds. Came back, handed us our pop, and literally said "Sorry, nothing we can do" and kept walking. We were appalled at the lack of customer service, are you kidding me?? He seriously walked past us like we were trash. We went to talk to blonde fat woman who said "I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do. We get our shipments directly from Funko. All sales are final, sorry." HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Would you like to be treated like shit after you spent good money on a product? I don't care if "all sales are final" I expect a refund for a faulty product. We literally got swindled here. Highly recommend not shopping here for anything. If you buy Funko's here, BEWARE. You are most likely buying a counterfeit. We're avid collectors, and still got duped. Customer service has never been that great here anyway. Lots of awkward young kids work here. Well, I called to make sure it wasn't a seasonal kind of place first. Plenty of street parking. I don't know if they had a parking lot in the back or not, but it was midday in Burbank, there's plenty of street parking out front. As with any Halloween or costume store, they've got the windows covered so it's nice and dark inside. Just adds to the ambience of this type of store, would you agree? They seemed to have just about anything and everything you could possibly ask for in terms of costumes and costume accessories. They had packaged costumes for both children and adults, as well as a separate room with higher end clothing items such as pirate shirts and the like. They also had a lot of wigs and hats and other items you could put on your person to complete every detail of you costume. They even had a nice selection of quality makeup items. I definitely knew I was going to walk out with something. I was walking around when one of the employees asked if I need anything and once I explained to her that I was very bad at costume parties and dressing up, she immediately took me to the room in the back where they had the pirate shirts. Almost immediately, she pulled a large black sheer pull-over shirt with frills on the front and the cuffs and told me to try it on. I liked it but what especially sold me was when she said it could double as a pirate shirt. I actually think it primarily was meant as a pirate shirt but considering I was going for the Southern/vampire look, she went that direction. We went back to the other room and suggested if a top hat and cane would be of interest. I though I could go for the Southern gentlman/vampire look. I picked out a large top hat that seemed to be made pretty well out of that thick felt, and a plastic cane with a "silver" handle. I was very happy and excited to try everything on when I got home and see what I would look like for the event. Things were a little bit more pricey than I would've preferred, but the shirt especially is pretty good quality and looks like it'll last awhile. So in closing, I'll do the whole Mastercard commercial thing.... I used to come here every year to buy costumes and festive decor for the halloween season- Now they have two locations about a block from each other, so i was extra excited to go this year. I went with a small group of family and friends to get costumes this weekend and had a bad experience with an older woman with glasses who became very confrontational with us because we were "shopping"- her words. My sister was comparing the prices of a Waldo costume with one that she had seen online. She was on her phone looking at websites she had bookmarked. This must have upset the employee there because she confronted us aggressively and was saying things like, "i will have none of that in my store, you are shopping around online and comparing..." We are not exactly sure what we did wrong, but she asked us to leave- and created a bit of a scene while we were there. Yes, of course that's what we were doing, but apparently it is against their policy to make informed decisions before purchasing a $50 costume. We left without buying anything, which was unfortunate because we had a made a special trip just to go to this location. They have a good selection of costumes and halloween extras. But this experience was not pleasant. I am told that i should go a bit further to the big warehouse store off the 5 FWY heading down towards Orange County. It's what we will have to do this year. Horrible Experience! Here is the letter I sent to the owner. No response, gotta love that!!! To whom this may concern: This letter is intended for the management and hopefully the owner of Halloweentown to express our horrible experience we had at your Burbank store last night (11/12/2014). First, we are from the Woodland Hills area and found your store on the Internet the day before. We were looking for costumes for a holiday party for myself, my wife and our 8 year old son. We called prior to leaving for Burbank to make sure you were open. The gal that answered stated that they are open until 7p. We left at 5:20p and after an hour+ of traffic, we arrived at the front door of your main costume location at 6:26p. The horrible experience started as soon as we walked through your front door. We were greeted by the most unpleasant staff and one of them quickly and abruptly stated, you need to be aware that we close at 7. I think we may have been the only customer in your store. Who would ever say that to a customer, especially at 6:27. We didn't get a " warm hello" or "welcome to Halloweentown", simply, we close at 7. Your entire staff was staring at us with such a pressured feeling so that we might quickly pick something out and leave. We were absolutely dumbfounded. Then my son had to go to the bathroom. We asked if you had a bathroom and two of your employees quickly stated "NO we don't". The tone was so rude! At this point it was around 6:47. I mean I understand some businesses have policies about bathrooms not being available to the public, but under the circumstances we thought they might make an exception for an young child. They didn't even inform us that there was a restaurant next door. So, my wife quickly took my son there and came back within 3 minutes. Then as soon as my wife came through the door the "we're closing" pressure started once again by multiple employees that we MUST pick something out or come back another time. "You have to pick something, we are closing now" It might have been 6:53. I still cannot believe how we were treated! I became so disgusted by this horrible treatment that I walked out the door and my wife continued to go to the register. Are you ready for this... while they were ringing her out my wife thought she would take two more items that she had looked at earlier. The transactions wasn't even completed and the gal ringing her out simply said "Sorry you can't buy anything else" OMG, what kind of retail store says that to a customer? My wife was flabbergasted and walked out of your establishment after buying a few things for my son. I owned a retail gift shop for close to 10 years and we always treated our customers like gold and even if someone walked in right at closing, we would fully accommodate them even if it meant staying after closing. That's just basic retail customer 101. Without your customers you have nothing at all. I hope your staff and manager are reprimanded for this inexcusable treatment of your customers. Your staff needs major customer relationship training. We will probably never come back to your store and will most definitely post our horrible experience on Yelp. read more

Uncomfortable shopping experience. I'm fine with the no cell phone use but they have the employees staring down your every move. I couldn't even have private conversations with my friend because the employee would make a remark about something I said. The costume selection is "okay." Some of the costumes you can find at the Halloween Club or Spirit stores, where you can wander around as you please, use your phone to make calls or take pictures, and prices are comparatively the same. I'd also like to point out that you cannot return or exchange anything here, whereas at Spirit and Halloween Club you can. If you want to try something on, you have to ask an employee to open the bag for you and take the costume out. They have tiny mirrors and poor lighting and you have to try it on in front of everyone in the store. It honestly discouraged me from trying on more costumes because I felt like I would be inconveniencing them for every costume I wanted to look at and I couldn't just have a private moment to decide if I even liked that costume or not. I couldn't accurately judge if anything even fit. Some rare costumes are worth going here for, but only if you're willing to splurge on them. Overall, I wouldn't really go there again. Didn't "wow" me or anything. Tried on the Queen Amidala costume. $75 dollars. The dress was nice but the queen's headpiece was made of plastic. I literally found it online for $2.99. Perhaps the banned cell phone use is to keep you from Googling their costumes online and find out you can get them a lot cheaper. read more

What with all the vintage stores and strange costume shops. One down side is that they have some of the strangest rules around. They have a nice selection of costumes and items in stock, but seriously - ONLY buy from here if you're in a situation where you're in a rush and you need to get something last minute. I was in a rush and really wanted a Top Gun costume,. found one here for $95+tax. when I got home I discovered that the same exact brand costume was selling for $45 online! I get it, they're a store and have to pay employees, etc, but if you're going to sell something for over 2x the online price, you full on deserve a negative Yelp review! read more

Eh. I've experienced better. I have come here numerous times for different things and the customer service is never consistent. The employees are either really nice, rude, or just blah and there for the job. I think it is so bizarre that with such a nice costume shop, they don't have fitting rooms to allow people to try on Halloween costumes. They come back with "You can try the costume on OVER your clothes." Come on! Who seriously wants to try on a costume that may be a form fitting DRESS over clothing!? However, you're allowed to try on WIGS without a wig cap!!! People could have lice or anything but they allow that!! That is just mind blowing. There is a private lot for parking and also street parking. The prices are a bit much in my opinion. Honestly, you can find the same exact costumes in the stores on Hollywood Blvd AND be at liberty to try them on in a fitting room. The parking is the only convenience with this place. Stop #1 for a Halloween Costume With such high ratings and close proximity to my house, I couldn't help but not check this place out. I must admit I was skeptical at first, from the outside it looks like a very small shop. To my surprise, this places goes a lot farther back than I expected. You definitely get the Halloween vibe when first entering the dark and fully decked out store. A unique store to browse through, but in terms of costumes there was nothing unique about them other than the fact that their prices were a little overpriced compared to other stores and even online of the same exact brands. ** Stop #4 on our Yelp tour through Burbank / North Hollywood ** Nope, the tour's not over... Right across the street from Yummy Cupcakes we spotted Halloween Town. Needing some props for my department's annual Halloween festivities, we trekked across the street and into this Halloween mecca. It's kind of like walking into an old house, kind of dark and looming on the inside. But chock full of holiday accoutrements. Whole rooms are dedicated to mens, kids and ladies costumes (head upstairs, ladies!). Another room for tombstones and various lawn ornamentation. And another room for various gory props and such. The boy found an inflatable sumo wrestler costume, complete with fan to inflate it! I was looking for gory hands, heads and other props to recreate crime scenes. Luckily we didn't have to battle many crowds and the helpful and plentiful staff didn't seem too frazzled... Yet. read more

Wtf is up with that 2 costumes per person rule? How are you supposed to find the perfect costume within your first 2 tries :l And no dressing rooms?.... Oh, and you have to try on costumes over all your clothes. I just dont see the logic considering most people dont want to pay 50+ for something that they cant even try on normally. I went in two times because the first day I was wearing a long sleeved sweater with nothing underneath and I wanted to see what it looked like with my bare arms/legs. So the next day I came in with my hoochie skirt and a tank and that worked. Other than that they have awesome selections. Just change that shitty rule and all will be well. read more

I love Hallowe'en. I live in Burbank. I do a haunt every year. I DESPERATELY want to love this place. I feel like I'm their ideal customer. I keep coming back thinking it's going to be different this time. It's not. The staff is incredibly unhelpful, aloof or not to be found, except when they're watching you like you're about to steal something. There is a no returns policy, which sucks because while I would love to get gifts there, I am wary of anything that can't be returned. I guess I'll keep going back because their selection of shirts, jewelry, books and vintage repro Hallowe'en stuff is cool, but I've been finding my way down Magnolia to Dark Delicacies more and more often when I need a fix... Probably the best Halloween store I have ever been to (and I am obsessed with Halloween so I have been to a lot). There are a couple of stores a block apart. The most western store is mostly costumes and the eastern one is props and decorations/collectables. There is also a third store for kids. If you are into Halloween and in LA, stop here! read more

I really can't say enough good things about this shop. I came here sometime around when it opened, not only because I'm the target demographic, but also because this is Wayne Toth's store. Horror geeks know who he is. Anyway, I loved it back then, so when I finally paid it a return visit this past week I was pleased to see that it has expanded and grown tremendously. So much so, in fact, that they've relocated all of the costumes to a second location a block away. They've got just about any and every thing a horror fan could want/need/rabidly desire. Seriously. Shirts, movies, toys, housewares, artwork, oddities, jewelry - far too much to mention here. The back gallery has some fantastic vintage prints available for only $20/ea. They've also got some killer original artwork, with an emphasis on Haunted Mansion merchandise inspired by the Disney ride. The interior is labyrinthine, with room upon room filled with ghoulish delights. I could have spent a couple hours (and a couple thousand dollars) here without batting an eye. The pricing is all fairly reasonable, so don't worry about completely killing your wallet if you're looking to stock up on some horror goodies. This is a must-see store for any fans of the genre. read more
