I'm honestly a little disappointed in Halloween town and the collection of items they have for sale. For one, they have a corner tucked away in the store, dedicated to my culture; sugar skulls and other things Mexican. They even have the lotteria game for sale, and I have no idea why because there's nothing "supernatural" about bingo. And I have no idea how much they charge for it but it's 1$ in Mexico and I doubt that's anywhere near what they wanted for it... I just didn't appreciate my culture being sold in a store that typically sells nightmare before Christmas memorabilia next to Elvira wallets. It gave me a weird taste in my mouth seeing that stuff in this store and made me end my shopping trip here. I was disappointed in the funko pop collection here - it's small IMO but I have dark horse comics in my state now. So maybe I'm spoiled. I didn't see anything I wanted here at all though; but I was looking for specific funko. I wish the clothing/accessories section was larger or more.. eclectic I guess? I just felt like for being Halloween town, the bags and such were a bit boring. I think I would have come here more often if they had more options but it just looked cleaned out - maybe it's because of Christmas. I don't know. I lived in Burbank for over 23 years and only visited Halloween town maybe a handful of times during that time, and have only bought one thing. Most days I never saw anything else I wanted to buy here if I'm being honest, and I just feel over the years Halloween Town has gone downhill and the merchandise is not as unique anymore. This place is usually my first stop for costume stuff because chances are, they'll have it. They aren't always where I buy from though because chances also are that it will either be super overpriced or super cheaply made. That pretty much sums the place up, as far as what they offer. For anyone and everyone who grew up in Burbank, Magnolia is a staple and Halloween Town is like the mayors mansion! This place is amazing they have everything that you could ever need. The only issue is that it gets supppppppppper packed during the holiday and the employees are not the nicest purple. But hey, they need to deal with a bazillion customers so we cut them some slack. We used to like to come as a tradition and buy pre Xmas gifts and basic Halloween decor to start the season off. Seriously spend a lot of money! As we are shopping and picking out stuff we got yelled at by the front door guy...."We are closing!" I had no idea I had all this stuff in my hands and then he yelled at us, so I put it down and left. They were very blunt and upfront, so unwelcome! They don't seem to need the sales. I felt super awkward and unwelcome as I was there and then as I realized they closed in 15 minutes. So note to anyone who thinks this is a fun store. They DO NOT CARE! Even if its not closed yet they want you out! They do not welcome business. We will be moving onto other places now. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I've gone here twice now (once last year and another a couple weeks ago) and both times thought the store was well stocked and gave off a very festive vibe. All is good until you notice the huge price increase on items you can easily pick up at a Spirit store for half the price, or have to interact with the staff. Not to say that ALL of their staff are rude, but the ones that I've come in contact with were. They've got a weird 'no photo' policy, and watch you with an eagle eye even when you're just texting someone back. My friend didn't notice the sign at first and took a photo of something she was about to purchase to send to her husband, but was 'talked to' in less than 5 seconds. What's interesting is that I just now saw a social media influencer walking through the store with his camera, it wasn't an #ad and it wasn't sponsored content...but they allowed that???? I'm such a big fan of this place. I go here all the time and I bring friends when they visit, but I really have to suggest to the staff not to make the customer feel like they're guilty of something. I don't really understand the "no photos" rules but OK, that's fine. The stuff here is cool and some are collectable, but seriously, I'm an adult and I don't need to be watched or followed. I will probably always want to go here, but it never feels like I'm truly welcome, and with so many other cool stores in the area sometimes I skip Halloween Town. This Halloween store is open year round which really makes it awesome, they also have almost everything you may be looking for, if you are going the standard costume route. Bagged costumes, hats, tights, petti coats, props, glasses, makeup, masks, accessories, wigs, that sort of stuff. This location is one of their three - all located within a block or so of each other on Magnolia Blvd. I have purchased costume items for myself and son from here over the years and most recently went in looking for a pretty specific style apron that one may only turn to ebay or etsy to find after having zero success at thrift and vintage stores and they had something that will totally work! The prices aren't terrible but they definitely aren't necessarily what I would call a bargain. I'd recommend giving them a shot for your costume needs. I went here with my husband and son and had a terrible experience. Halloween should be fun, but the employees here suck all the fun out of looking for a costume. We had to wait in a line outside to get in, even though the store is a decent size and there weren't many people inside. They only let you take two costumes out of the bags. I understand they don't want people coming in and making a mess, but I'm a responsible adult. The only reason we went there is so we could get my son a costume we knew would fit. Well, ghouls and goblins... it's that time of year again. Halloween Time! But, how would you like a Halloween store which is open ALL YEAR ROUND? For someone like me who hails from the Mid-west where October means: apple cider, hayrides, bonfires, haunted houses... and of course my birthday; I welcome a store where I can pretend it is Halloween 52 weeks a year. Although I wouldn't quite say that Halloween Town is large based only on square footage nor that it is has the largest selection of costumes (I think the the temporary Halloween shops which open in October in abandoned store fronts have larger selections); I would say that Halloween Town is great for the small accents: hats, makeup, jewelry, stockings.. the little details which make your costume "pop" (or go "Boo!" in this case). Plus, it also features other items such as decorations, books, cupcake decor kits, spooky sound recordings, etc. You will more than likely find the item you are searching for. My favorite room is the darkened mini-haunted house room in the back. Okay, it's not really a Haunted House but it is decorated to present the items they sell for haunted houses and front yards and it is fun to look at. Although a bit pricey, Halloween Town deserves 4 starts based on the fact that it is open year-round (great for a costume party or that Production Assistant working on a TV show even when it is June). Me and the wife love this place!! We live in San Diego so it takes a good, solid, 2 hours to get here. We come very couple of months or so to Burbank just to visit Halloween Town and also that vintage toy store down the street. This place is perfect for year round Halloween fans like the wife and I. Its VERY expensive so don't except to deck out your Halloween decorations from here (go to Target or Walmart for that), but to pick up the occasional shirt or collectible or even expensive single decorative item, this place is great. This entire street as a whole is pretty cool because it has a lot of niche, quirky vendors that you simply can't find in a heavily commercialized and expensive area like San Diego. There are actually two stores located 2-3 stores away from each other. The original one on 2921 is their store that is open the whole year. This store is NOT kids and baby friendly as it could frighten your young ones upon entering. The original store is however, nicely designed, scary and fun. The prices aren't too affordable if you're comparing costume prices to the big name department store, but you're sure to find something nice. 2-3 stores west of 2921, here's another Halloween Town (their sister store) which is a lot more kids and baby friendly. This is where you can find costumes for your young ones. They pretty much have costumes for toddlers all the way to adults and then some. Other than the prices being overly expensive, the Halloween Town stores are nice to go buy your costumes at. All sales are final, and I wouldn't recommend going on the weekends in October or right before Halloween. Things will sell out and crowds will probably be ridiculous. Halloweentown has always been just amazing. I used to work in Burbank and I used to go over here all the time to just look. They have expanded since years ago and they have an adult costume section and a child costume section a little ways up the street from the original location. Everything is slightly higher priced. But this place also has unique things that you can't find anywhere else so if you see it in the store you might as well just get it now!! I love the store because it's year-round and I love Halloween more than any other day of the year. You could buy kitchen wear, outfits, T-shirts, purses things that you can use on a normal every day basis that are kind of goth or spooky. The story gives you a lot of great ideas if you just walk through looking. It's dark and Spooky inside so if you have small children and they might get a little scared of some of the things they will see. Easily, one of the coolest stores I have ever been to. Crazy selection. Spooky atmosphere. I'm a customer for life.

I had a last minute masquerade party to attend to and called everywhere looking for a mask. Since it wasn't anywhere near Halloween, the five different stores that I called either didnt have any in stock or the selection was very limited (in addition, whatever they had in stock didnt look that great). A coworker of mine told me about this place and thank goodness she did! The store had a huge section of a wall just for masks, from floor to ceiling! They had your very basic Zorro style masks to the all-out fancy Venetian masks. They carried a variety of styles such as half mask, mask on a stick, full mask etc. And just when I finally figured out which style of mask I wanted, I had to pick which color! Throughout the entire selection process, the ladies that worked there were so helpful (and patient!). They suggested what might look good and asked what I would be wearing so they can match the mask with my outfit. They even let me try on the mask to see how it would look on my face. Hooray for Halloween Town! Next time I need a mask, I know exactly where to go! read more

Typical Halloween store. All sales are final, period. I don't understand complaints about not being able to return a final sale item. It's not like you got it in the mail, you had it in your hand when you checked out. It's not their fault that you can neither comprehend the policy nor have the forethought to inspect your purchase first. It's all costume quality goods, not theatre, not film, Halloween costumes and that's what you get because that's what you pay for. It's also posted everywhere so it's not like it's a surprise. I get almost everything for my own costumes online but I bring my husband here because he needs to shop in person. Occasionally I need a last minute prop or accessory and they come through on those.
