Halo 13 is a nerdy geeky dream! The people in here are nice, friendly and knowledgeable. And the selection of comics, collectibles, cards and what not is impressive. They have some arcade games in-store you can play, candy dispensers and crane games that all take quarters, but they don't have a lot of change... A coin machine would be great inside! Good value for lots of items including some graphic novels. It's a good time in on the Southwest side where not many things thrive including the revitalized Sears, but Halo 13 is always here! Though recently they relocated more centrally in the mall (where the old GameStop used to be) - on the first floor near the food court. One of the longest standing stores in the Burbank Town Center, since it open its doors in 2008. It has shuffled around physically from floor to floor, but always glad it's still around. You can shop online from limited radius delivery or store pick-up, though this doesn't include books of any sort, but does have a lot of their pins (which I've been collecting). DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE This review is for the new Santa Clarita location but applies to both locations as I have visited both, but the Santa Clarita location is especially bad. First off, if I could give this place zero stars I would. I'm a big collector of Marvel, DC, and Star Wars figures, I have hundreds of figured and I (and most collectors) know the value and prices of these items. This place charges WAY too much for figures. A cyclops marvel legends you can buy down the street at target for 20 dollars is being sold for 32 dollars at this place. And that trend follows every single item in the store. Additionally, a ton of the merchandise is DIRTY AND DUSTY!!!! They don't even bother selling clean products! My last warning and I think one of the worst things this place does is that it sells FAKE ITEMS. In the Santa Clarita location, there are glass cabinets in the back that hold Lego Minifigures. VERY FEW OF THESE ARE REAL OFFICIAL MINIFIGURES. Also, the prices is not listed anywhere for these which is super shady. The clone trooper figures especially are really bad. They're so obviously fake it's embarrassing to look at, the prints off the mark, are obviously not official figures, and are things Lego has never made themselves. I will include pictures. It's a nice store that's organized very well. I love that they carry Hot Toys. I came here to purchase the BvS Batman that was priced fairly. The store also had other variety of Hot Toys that peaked my interest as well. Being that I'm a Hot Toy addict I'm happy to have found a nice spot that carries Hot Toys. Not a lot of places carry them and understandably so. They are a lot more easier to find at the Frank & Sons show, but I like seeing other small business that carry them. Frank the owner also has other cool items like comics/graphic novels, Funko Pops, commons and some other exclusives from other retailers. Some hard to find ones as well if you're an avid Funko collector. Some NECA and other action figure lines are there, some of which are pretty old and hard to find in person. He also had some cool customized Legos too. All in all, it was a pleasant experience and I'll likely be back at some point. Thanks again! read more

Attempted to sell me a non sealed out of box displayed Hot Toy for full brand new retail price($320 + tax) and wasn't going to mention it was a display only figure until I noticed him trying to package it back up me while I was browsing and I had to say something about it. I was expecting a brand new figure especially since this figure is relatively new and still in stock on the sideshow website (I was just wanting to buy in person) And for what I was going to be paying for it and for him to NOT mention that it was an out of box figure and NOT ask me if that was OK was very sketchy and scammy. I imagine if I hadn't of noticed this... I would've paid full price for a figure that was technically not new and I would've found out the hard way once I opened it at home expecting a NEW and SEALED figure. This place sells bootlegged products. They have anime statues and nendoroids for sale straight from China, without even removing the China sticker on the back of the box. Then they have the audacity to price some of them at $39.99. The price of an AUTHENTIC nendoroid is typically around $50. I have zero tolerance for companies that sell fake products. The best part is this Eren nendoroid. This is by the far one of the worst counterfeit figures I've seen. I'm from out of state and was stoked to check out a new anime store, but I'll stick to Anime Jungle, since they don't rip people off with fake goods. read more

I walked into this place about 2 weeks ago after 10 years of not coming in because of a super crooked and shady deal I had with the owner at that time. Long story short I pre-paid for a hot toys iron man and when it released he told me that he did not have them, yet he was selling 4 of them on the store's web site. By the time of the release, the figure had doubled in price of what I had pre-paid for it. I got my money back after several dodges by the owner. But I basically lost the $300 that the figured appreciated and I was never able to buy another figure without shelling out the price that the secondary market was asking for. Flashback to now and I decided to poke my head in, I do not know how these people make money. The staff was no where to be found and 80% of the anime stuff is bootleg. I let this go for many years but the public needs to beware of this owner. He knows who I am. read more

I've been here a few times and I have to say that my several experiences there were relatively the same. Their selections of comics and figures are pretty good but their customer service was terrible. When they have a trading card game match, the manager didn't help at all in what I was searching for and just gave this attitude when I asked for help. Stopped by to check out the place as I had a few hours to kill before watching a movie at AMC across the street. Not too fancy for a shop at a mall. I walked in with no expectation of the store being really cool or really lame. I felt like this shop offered more to serious collectors, and maybe some kids looking for a cool new action figure but then again if a kid wanted to get a new action figure or video game they would have gone to Toys R Us. I did like most of the displays they had with GI Joe Figurines to some of the Marvel characters like Iron Man. There were lots of cool collectible figures to some of more classic figures that a bit harder to find (for example the McFarlane Movie Maniacs) and also some random action figures that may have been poplular back in the late 80's and into the 90s. Nice selection of Anime/Manga Stuff and some statues of Transformers. I can see myself spending quite a few bucks here though I don't feel this store as being one of those places I would have to go everyday. I'll think of this shop more of a Guilty Pleasure. read more

Alrighty how do I start this. This place only earned itself 2 stars because of its organization and variety. As a collector of a lot of Marvel and Anime things, they have a pretty good selection, funko pops, Nenoroids, figurines, poster boards, models and statues as well as comics. Here is where things go downhill. I came in searching for anything themed behind Attack on Titan, Demonslayer, Avengers, or My Hero Academia. Searching through the organized store I began noticing some awful things. First was dirty products. Stained and moldy boxes of models just sitting there next to others ones. I was petrified to see something like that because it was very obvious. The next huge issue I found that every collector would find in a comic/ anime/ gaming store would be FAKE PRODUCTS. It is so disappointing to find a fake piece of merchandise being sold in a shop for collectors. After I spotted the mold I moved on to a different section and saw an Attack On Titan Nendoroid, if this was real it would have been an insane find because they are rare and extremely expensive to get 2nd hand so I was so happy until I examined it. This was the most obvious derpy looking fake nendoroid I've ever seen. I began to examine other things after finding this, odd labels on boxes of funkos were found, nendoroids being sold out of box missing pieces, and I'm sure if you examined the comics, out of box nendos and exclusives behind counter you would find some fakes too. Extremely disappointed with this place I highly recommend they purge their fake branded merchandise and if I ever visit again and these things have changed then I will create a new better review. I have come into this shop a few times, each time with lower expectations. The shop has a decent selection of figures, statues, and other collectibles (though very few comic books, so go elsewhere if that's what you're after). The reason it only gets one star is because of the abysmal state of the staff behind the counter. I have never been greeted by any of the staff upon entering the shop, and very rarely does anyone attempt to engage me. When I do deign to ask one of the staff, regarding their stock, I am mostly met with blank stares and apathy, and when someone does attempt to answer my questions, they have ZERO product knowledge (for example, today I asked for any merchandise containing the character Kyle Rayner, a popular Green Lantern character, and the young man behind the counter told me that they don't carry starcraft merchandise, which is COMPLETELY unrelated. This is a shop that caters to COMIC BOOK collectibels, EVERY member of this staff should know popular characters.) If you don't feel like getting ANY help at all with your purchases, and you enjoy dealing with some of the rudest people to ever man a collectible counter, then by all means, try this shop. But if you like to be treated with respect, as a consumer, and recieve good information, that is correct and relevant to your shopping, then GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. This shop closed down briefly, and should have stayed that way. In order to improve, the entire staff needs to be changed, or trained extensively in product knowledge and in basic retail practices such as greeting and engaging the custmer. read more

If you want to get some hard to get toys (collectibles or not) such as any transformers toys, 25th anniversary G.I. Joes, Marvel Figures, Anime, etc. at scalpers prices this place is for you. Not impressed with the selection of stuff they have, but they do have hook ups to get stuff that you're looking for... They also have video games and they sell them at decent prices as well. Check it out if you looking to complete whatever toy you're collecting... but remember you'll be breaking the bank. I'll give the place credit. It has wonderful displays of statues and busts of various comic book and movie characters. I sometimes stop by just to peruse the assortment they have. Also a huge selection of Halo figures in here. The staff is friendly and courteous. On a side note, don't bring up Amazon. The customer service at this place is one of worst I have seen. The help at the store won't even say hello to anyone when you go in or walk around. Even when the customers are close to them, they don't say a word... everyone looks very happy there. They promised me that a certain upcoming figure will be there and then they sold it. I like this place. If you're looking for toys and hard to find figures, models and stuff like that, you might find it here. They also have t-shirts, dvdv's, games, manga and comics. But. their comic selection isn't nearly as good as the rest of their stuff. However, last I went there they were expanding their comic section, so that's probably changing! Man I love this place. Friendly owners and workers, wide selection in toys, cards, games, fun. With a place for table top gaming, and tournaments too! The staff is amazing always doing fun things.
