We contacted Max and he was able to come and help us on short notice. He was able to disconnect the old one and install the new one, which included hardwiring it as there was no outlet. That was ridiculous, toilets seldom go "bad", it is the fill and dump valves that need to be replaced. I fixed the flapper valve assembly myself for about $12. I hate to say this but it appears that there is something going on in the plumbing repair business where they are charging extremely high prices. You can call a few of them and they will all quote the same ridiculous price for a repair.
