I've been coming here since I was young. "7 days without a halo burger makes one weak." The menu has changed over the years, but it has changed for the better. Its similar to an A&W, but 100 times better! The burgers are excellent, the fries are delicious and have the right amount of salt on them. Anything you order here will have your mouth watering. Combo number 1 is a classic. I recently took my wife here, her first time, she enjoyed it as much as I did. The best part about coming here is the Vernors infused Boston Cooler. I am not a huge fast food fan. As a result I often stare at the menu longer than most, trying to decide what I want and how it works. The drive-tru menu was simple enough but I assumed that each burger was assigned a number and you could make it a combo. Nope, these were the combos. I don't drink pop so I never order the combo, preferring to get my burger and sides separate. I order a regular cheese burger, minus tomato and mayo. I appreciate the note that all burgers come with lettuce, tomato, pickle, mustard, ketchup and mayo. I got a regular tot as well. Hubs got a BLT burger, I think, and onion rings. The food was HOT! I couldn't even rest the foil wrapped burger on my leg while I fished my husbands sandwich out of the bag. Greedily I tossed a small onion ring in my mouth and immediately regretted it - it was so hot! But tasty. The rings and tots, to me, were better than the burger. The burger was kind of bland. The ingrediants were plentiful and fresh but the meat was kind of bland. It needed salt, or something. The bun held together, the burger was super messy but over all it didn't live up to the hype. Driving through Flint up north, I've contemplated trying Halo burger for a couple of years, I am not disappointed that I stopped, but I don't know that I need to have it again. That being said, the staff was nice, although we surely sounded like idiots when we ordered. Service was prompt and the food was cooked well and as I said, served piping hot. Bonus, despite not being someone who typically hits up the drive-tru, my stomach did not protest my meal choice, further my conclusion that they use quality products. read more

Gotta say, these burgers are great. I actually try to lay off all but the essential toppings because the beef is that good.

We always stop for a halo burger when we are in the area. Best fast food around! The website lists allergies which is really helpful for some of our family with dairy issues. read more

First time trying a burger from Halo Burger after hearing all the great things about the chain, sadly it was a bit of a let down. The burger itself wasn't anything special although it was good. The service was quick and all the staff were friendly. I think the building lets it down - it's old and certainly seen better days. Images on the wall are faded, windows aren't clean and has the overall feel of a school canteen. Don't think i'll be back. read more

I worked here back in the 80's and I loved the food. The business has changed hands a couple times since and the food quality has gone down. I was told on my visit today that they no longer have some of my favorites on the menu. I still love the halo"d burger but it's not as good as it once was. read more

This was my first visit to Halo Burger and it was awesome! We came during happy hour (2-5pm) we both got junior burgers, fries and tater tots and 2 Boston Coolers for $7. Food was fresh and hot, I would definitely recommend Halo Burger! read more

I wanted to try this place and started by looking at their menu. Promoting an Olive Burger? I don't get it but I was still willing to try the basic burger (#1) combo with a chocolate shake. I must say there was nothing impressive about this meal. Simply put, it was just bland. I didn't expect it to taste like one of the food chains but I was looking for some uniquely good. It just wasn't. The burger had no seasoning, the fries looked good but tasted not to be cooked all the way through. worst service ever. my mom and i waited in the drive through line for an hour, then we got our food and our burgers were so cold we thought they came out of a fridge and we're wrapped up. fries were luke warm like they had been sitting out not heated. you'd think for that long of a line and wait, the food would be good right? couldn't help but notice the "help wanted" sign out front. clearly the help is needed. how ironic. read more

While the locations interior was strange, the halo burger enticed me as I was heading back towards the express way. With a dual window service desk, I ordered a "fresh never frozen" burger and it was....Delicious! I wasn't expecting this quality from a fast food restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised. Tried it for lunch while I was staying in the area on business...while it wasn't bad nothing about their food really made me want to come back. Prices and service were about what I'd expect, but their claims of "heavenly" are definitely an over-sell. I'd rate this place somewhere between Wendy's and McDonald's. read more

I grew up eating at halo. It was my first real job in 1987. I had heard it was sold by the Thomas family a few years back. Well, it sure is not the same. The price was fine but the food is same crap everyone else sells. If your going for regular fast food, then you will be happy. The tradition it was, is gone. Just off the highway (I-75 north), pull off and grab a Halo Burger. you wont be disappoiinted.

I am so disappionted they got rid of the kicken chicken sandwich and replaced it with a piece of processed cardboard.. I would have rather paid more for a good piece of chicken than settle with a piece of processed chicken that has no flavor.. So Sad!! read more

Finally went after good reviews,but was disappointed. Even though staff was friendly food was not up to standard. Very mooshy buns and looked very "thrown together". Lobby was not very pleasant. Very under stocked at drink station,glass dividers were gross, and tables understocked. Will not be returning sadly. read more

My daughter and I went to the HaloBurger in Fenton, expecting to get a "fix" after having been gone from Michigan for 10 years . Whoever has taken the business over from Bill Thomas has ruined the deluxe with olives. The seasoning in the meat was what really set it apart from other burgers, and they have obviously changed it. Now it's just a plain old hamburger like every other place serves, but with olives on it. What a disappointment! Won't have to worry about looking forward to going there again any time soon. read more

The One Pound burger is ridiculous. It is by far the best burger I have ever eaten that I purchased at a drive through-type restaurant. I hate green olives, but the olive burger here is AWESOME!!! I don't know why, but when you put olives on a burger it takes on a completely different flavor. If you like onion rings, then this is the place. read more

I had my first Halo burger yesterday. Not horrible....just not impressed with the flavor. Won't go back.
