The service is quick. And the food is worth the stop. My wife and I both ordered their double cheese burgers, fries and drinks. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft on inside. They weren't overdone. They were just right. The burgers tasted like more, because they were so good. The toppings were fresh. The meat was juicy and thick. Great food! We all enjoyed the burgers, dogs, fries, and cheese curds. They have free style pop machines, which is always a plus. Definitely good burgers. The burgers are Wendy's-esque but with more available toppings. I love the banana peppers - hubby likes to also add olives to his burger. My husband and I waited over an hour in the drive thru with only 4 cars in line. We were patient due to the fact that we understand that restaurants are frequently understaffed these days but imagine our surprise when we pulled up to the window and saw no less than 7 people in there. Zero stars. The so called "manager" here is an awful human being. She is yelling at her employees and when I calmly walked up to the counter after finding out that all burgers come with "the works" , asking her what came on the olive burger and she yelled at me saying it comes with the works. I did not see this at first until I had already ordered and do not eat ketchup or mustard, olive burgers do not normally come with ketchup and mustard. I asked her and said it's too late it's already made, and I asked if she could please remake it. She said I can't remake it after it's made and I said I'm sorry I didn't know it came with the works, can you please just remake it. She took it and threw it and haphazardly made another, throwing it on the tray. I told her she needs lessons on how to deal with the public and she yelled "whatever". Food and service was good. However there was a manger, I'm guessing maybe a district manager because she was talking about other stores. I think her name was Kim. Anyways said manager was going off on the employees threatening to fire them over the stupidest things. I felt so bad for all of them. Horrible leadership skills on her part and very disappointing to see during such difficult times for everyone. Hopefully she can find a better way to manage so she doesn't loose all employees for talking to them like dogs. read more

Tried this for the 1st time after spending a road trip convincing my kids there are other options than McDonald's! We waited 40 minutes, so thought it must be good. It was horrible. All our burgers were cold and sloppy. The actual buns were like they were 1/2 defrosted. I would think if the food was made to order, it would be warm. My wife ordered the Boom burger based on the photo. It was not prepared anything like it and they forgot the bacon and cheese sauce. Kind of the reason she ordered it. Even if the food was warm, I don't see the craze. Back to McDonald's for this family. read more

Food is WAY better than other fast food, but service is sadly not worth the wait. Trying to give some slack in CV times but 45 min drive through wait at almost 2pm - got completely the wrong food and drink - then asked to pull ahead and waited another 20 min for food - mostly correct, but we took it and left at that point to get back on the road. Stopped by while on a road trip, wow, I wish there were a Halo Burger closer to where I live. I had an olive burger; it was packed high with goodies and really tasty; better than any fast food burger I have had in a long time. We've come here twice now and I'd say we had the same experience both times. We all know that there's been a kind of 'burger revolution'; an explosion of new chains, fast food joints and stands where the chase has been for the better burger. Because of this, any new or 'exotic' burger chain is going to earn attention and have some expectations to live up to. This is either a blessing or a curse, depending on your point of view. For me Halo Burger fails to live up to this expectation. I will say that I am not a fan of fast food and haven't been for a couple of years now. I used to eat it all the time and now I can go weeks before I'll suffer a Wendy's or whatever and I do not miss it at all. My takeaway has been the realization that fast food sucks. Sorry people, but it's the truth. So, if you're a fast food junkie you may like Halo, and you should take my review with a grain of salt. That said, I've tried two burgers now and I've not come away thinking anything other than 'enh'. They are a hair above McDonalds and the other major chains but aren't anything special and don't measure up to the other novelty chains. You'll get far more flavorful burgers at Steak n' Shake or Culver's. They also aren't big burgers. Even the double seemed a bit small. In the end, it tasted like a well-done processed patty. It looked great while it was cooking (really - seeing them on the grill I was like 'wow') but tasted like every other fast food patty I've ever had. So, overall, two stars might be harsh but there's just too many other places you can go for better burgers. Nothing wrong with the joint in Birch Run, it's clean, service is fine, food is passable and decent fries, but nothing I'd write home about. read more

After shopping at Birch Run the three of us were starved and stopped at Halo for a burger. I couldn't understand anything the guy said at the speaker, and after ordering QP burgers and one regular coke I was surprised our total was over $13. I was even more surprised at the price once we ate the burgers. First, it took about 5 minutes to actually get them, and not a single soul was there. Comparing this against fast food? It stacks up really, really well. Obviously it is not like a homemade burger or high-end burger from your favorite pub. But is was clean, quick, friendly and delicious. The health nut in our group was able to get a very good (customized!) grilled chicken sandwich and they have a black bean burger as well....which shows they're keeping up with the times. What a sad little place this is. Nothing wrong with the burgers, mind you. They're top notch. The interior of this specific location is just WAY out of date. The cut out cinder block wall ordering area and 1980's vintage booths for seating are a little too "high-school cafeteria" on the interior decoration scale for my liking. The parking lot pavement has a mine field quality. Basically, no one has sunk a penny in capital costs into this place since 1984. All that said, the burgers are great, fries are decent, milkshakes very good. The daughter is thrilled at having a mushroom swiss burger on the menu. Throw bacon on anything and the boy will eat it.
