I have two small toy breed dogs that require special prescription dog food. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty darn pricey and normally I was getting regular coupons from the manufacturer that made the price a little bit easier to manage. Royal Canin stopped offering the register discounts and I mentioned that to the cashier at this particular location. She took the time to explain to me that PetsMart will price match with chewy.com and offered to wait while I looked up the price on my phone. The savings was over $.59 PER CAN cheaper by using the Chewy price at the register. When you buy a lot of dog food it really adds up! So despite it being just your ordinary average pet store, this little tip has saved me over $100 in pet food to date.

You have to search hard to find an employee to help you find an item and when you do find an employee they behave like they really don't want to be there. The employees have no customer service characteristics at all. I just get a blank stare and no personality whatsoever like they are all on the spectrum. I needed to find a specific dry dog food and it was hidden behind all this other dog food, totally unorganized! On occasion they are out of stock of an item or I can't find it and struggle to find an employee to help me. The most recent incident I had was paying $149.00 for dog training sessions, the cashier gave me a starting date, I arrived with my dog and told the class is full. WHAT? Why was I not notified with a courtesy call and given a rescheduling date? Once again, poor customer service and an unorganized store! My guess is Petsmart pays low wages, therefore employees have low moral and very poor training. On a more positive note, there is one lady cashier who is really pleasant and helpful. Corporate needs to step up and smarten up and live up to their name Petsmart!

Because your site/app won't let me book, I've had to call in -- and both times the associate booked the wrong service code. My dogs needed a full haircut in June and again in July, but was only booked for a wash, which keeps pushing their actual haircut further out. The app is no better: when I log in, it asks me to "add pets" as if I'm brand new. After years of monthly payments, my pets, service history, and package details should already be on file. Two clear problems: 1. The online/app booking flow is broken for existing loyalty customers -- I shouldn't have to re-enter my pets every time. 2. Phone associates are not equipped to book grooming correctly and are selecting the wrong service codes. Please fix the app so long-term customers can self-serve, and retrain phone staff on grooming service codes. I'd also like my dog's next haircut prioritized to make up for the two missed ones.

On one occasion, my small child asked if they had dog ice cream, and instead of responding verbally or offering help, she simply pointed toward the refrigerators without explanation. The item was on the top shelf, which made it difficult for us to locate without assistance. Additionally, when I've asked questions about dog food, her response has been, 'I don't know, I have cats,' which felt dismissive and unhelpful. I completely understand that no one can know everything, but a little more guidance, friendliness, and willingness to help would go a long way, especially in a store that's known for its personalized pet care and knowledgeable staff.
