We have had VNA and Choice Home Health in the past, and we were VERY DISSATISFIED with both (especially VNA). Good Life was just the opposite; they began care the same day my Mother's doctor sent the referral. She had the SAME therapist throughout her recovery, and she went from being completely wheelchair bound to being able to transfer on her own and even take a couple of steps (with standby assistance). This is an incredible improvement that could not be achieved through the other agencies who had provided services in the past! I would recommend Good Life Home Care to anyone who cares for, and loves and elderly, homebound person.

We also had problems with theft my father's bank account by one of their caregivers. We have had so many missed shifts with no warning. Nothing seems to happen to the caregivers who miss shifts and don't show up. They also do not have any kind of plan to fill-in for people who don't show up on time or who don't show up at all. There is no back up whatsoever. I have asked about this over and over again. They don't keep a floater available for when people call in sick with no notice. They just say that that would be too expensive. They can't do it. I have to recommend that nobody go here. It's been really bad. The only reason we are still there is because one of the caregivers is nice and my dad really likes her. I have been trying to talk him into switching to another agency for Months now. This morning, once again, the Caregiver didn't show up and there was no notification ahead of time. one more shift where we have to find someone else to cover with no warning. I'm putting this review because I hope it keeps people away from their business or maybe gets them to pay attention to the fact that their service is so incredibly inconsistent.

This is about Sydney. I was refered to Bay Physical Therapy for pain which increased when I swam (usually 1.5 miles, three times a week), and during sex. I understand that the topic of sex can make people uncomfortable, but it is an important quality of life issue, and my doctor was so reasonable with his "yes, if this is impacting your ability to have sex, that is an important thing and I want to help you solve this, while the therapist I saw seemed really uncomfortable with the idea that I want to have sex that doesn't leave me in pain for days. I recognize that recent grads are going to have limited experience, but I felt my needs were very much beyond her skill levels. It happened that most of the other patients that I saw her treating were ones who were seniors who are rehabbing from surgery. I'm an athletic middle-aged person and she really didn't seem to understand that that is different from someone who just had their knee rebuilt and wants to be able to walk across a room with minimal assistance. I felt like she really had no clue and no skill. When I eventually grew too frustrated with her lack of attention, I said I was done and that I was leaving. She was confused. I said that working with her was a waste of her time and mine. When I left, I canceled all my remaining appointments, and the receptionist asked why, and I said I was unwilling to work with Sydney. While I generally found the receptionist helpful, I was disappointed that she did not offer to reschedule me with another practicioner, and that no one reached out to me.

About half of the people the agency sent did a good to excellent job and were extremely helpful: bright, friendly, cheerful, and didn't just sit around waiting for me to give orders--I always took pride and initiative when I was a worker, no matter the job. Others were unemployable types who couldn't even manage the simple tasks mentioned above. I'm sure the agency takes a healthy chunk of the caregivers' wages, so keep that in mind.
