Two orders of fries that are completely inedible. Hard as a rock, soaked in grease...

Don't Don't Don't I plead with you. This is not the Hal's you've grown so fond of. I have another review from a couple months ago about how the burgers have gone down hill. I got a response to my complaint and soon after the burgers were improved. I'll give them credit for this. However the service is far worse than it used to be, and EVERYTHING else accompanying your burger is trash. Thin runny milkshake, overcooked disaster fries that are too hard to bite and leave your hands COATED in oil. Quality control is non existent. Any restaurant or diner anywhere would have tossed these straight in the trash rather than serve them to a customer. Clearly either the ownership or staff have very low standards and the want you to know it. I've lived in this town for 20 years and frequented Hal's for every single one of them and my last two visits under this knew ownership have been tragically underwhelming. When two burgers, fries, and drinks cost $33 in today's world you'd really hope the food served will be edible and made with care...but hopes alone won't keep a boat afloat, and Hal's... you're taking on water.

Opened in 1949-1950 Owner passed. New owner in 1964. The owner held onto the "fifties" car hop drive in with great burgers, fries, Ice cream & yummy shakes. The only drawback is the limited seating and parking spaces. I moved to Sedro Woolley June 1970. Many of my new acquaintances worked there. It was great. Every month I treat myself to a ranch cheeseburger basket, lots of tarter sauce with my fries and a banana shake. I absolutely love this 50's style place. I have never had a banana shake Like theirs. So delicious. I also love their corndogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, Mushrooms. The items on the menu are great as well. 53 yrs for me enjoying great food. Thank You Guys!!

Didn't like the frozen patty's used for cheeseburgers. The fries were not good either. Won't be spending anymore money there.

Burgers are good but that's about it. Staff are not nice to brown people. Sad but this still happens.

10/10 execution and service, 7-8/10 food, drinks, and price…read more It's a bold move to hide your business, but the hint was clear enough that we felt confident opening an unmarked door and exploring. The entrance is delightfully well-done, and our faces lit up when we walked into the bar - intricately detailed and authentic enough that a '20s dress code could be reasonably enforced. We were seated immediately, and the cadence of service was immaculate: our appetizer came out just after our drinks, and the entrees appeared as we were taking the last bites of the appetizer. But I wasn't thrilled with my selections. The Rum Punch was served at room temperature and the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich was drier than the description suggested. My partner got the Jalisco Fizz, which she says paired well with the mushroom pasta, and really enjoyed the salmon deviled eggs. At $11-14, the drinks are priced well, but the food is overpriced. The jalapeño chicken sandwich was not a $23 sandwich, and a tempting lobster/shrimp roll was listed at $35. Overall Speakeasy Saloon is worth making an evening of. Dress up and sip on whiskey drinks in the low light with loved ones.
