The exam was…read morecovered by my insurance but they added an additional $89 out-of-pocket for fitting which has never happened when I had Aetna PPO, but since Arizona no longer offers PPO through Aetna, I had to change to Blue Cross, Blue Shield Health Choice Pathway and Premier claims the only coverage is for the exam. I was planning to just get the prescription and order a couple of lenses online like in the past, and wasn't going to order the lens through Premier...I felt kind of dismissed and talked into buying it here and paying for a fitting which should be included with the exam, IMO.

He took the time to listen, explain, and genuinely care--qualities that set him far apart from the typical medical experience today. His dedication and kindness made a huge difference in my visit. Well I've been back to get them adjusted 7 times. I was there yesterday to get them adjusted again. I got to talk to the Dr. Courtright. I told what was going on with my glasses and how many times I have gone to the office and got them adjusted. This is when he raised his voice at me and said "NOW WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK??" I said that I have bought glasses at Walmart that I never had too have them adjusted every other week. So he tellmeWELL THEN GET THE HELL OUT AND GO TO WALMART!! Went to appointment. Was called into examination room and went through a series of tests. When…read morethat was done, another nurse came in and announced she was going to "deaden" my eye. NO communication as to why or what they were going to do that for, so I said no. Where is the Doctor to explain what's going on? She replied "fine", switched off the light and walked out. Then the Dr. appeared, gave a 2 minute explanation of my eye issue and I said, I would like to think about it. He very abruptly left and another assistant came in and said "You have to leave right now". ????? It was a horrible experience.

The only retina specialists in town. I require eye injections. The wait time can be ridiculous, as…read moremuch as HOURS. I've been very lucky in only having to wait 30-45 minutes. Dr. Patel is a solid 5stars. My last eye injection left me in severe pain for a week. Felt like they had rinsed my eye with lemon juice. Had to go in for an emergency appointment for additional rinsing. Didn't receive a prescription for medicated eye drops and spent $50 on over the counter eye drops to combat the irritation and dry eye. Started crying over the pain and soon realized that was a huge mistake since the salt in my tears burned the injection site. I was actually hoping my natural tears would feel better than the artificial tears. Not looking forward to my next appointment.
