Holy freakin moly ! I was so excited to see this joint as I was driving by. So backstory , coming from California , this place is called Wienersnitzel. Looking one up on Yelp will show me that there is 1 located 4-5 hours from me. Sad face for months now, but as I was driving around Denver about a month ago I look over and see "Hamburger Stand" and I knew that big red W and I was elated to see that my chili cheese fry, corn dog, and chili dog craving can now be fulfilled. I'll start my review by saying, I have been to this location several times. I like to give a few chances before the awareness of not returning sets in. I actually like the Hamburger Stands! They remind me of A&W back in Wisconsin. It is deep nostalgia for me! However, this is a franchise location. When I say this I mean 'owned by someone who can use their logo and stuff but doesn't have to follow what corporate advertises'. This location is off Havana just south of Alameda in Aurora. It is on the east side of Havana and getting into and out can be tight. They do have a drive-thru which is great. However, my last visit there the person taking my order was rather curt and lacked good customer service skills. Most know a business will make or break in this regard. My last two visits here were on National Corn Dog Day and National Hamburger Day. Both times they did not participate in what was being advertised. See, I get the text messages about them. The Lakewood location DOES participate in this , just FYI! I still placed an order and paid too. I purchased a chili cheese dog, chili cheese fries and a dipped cone. I didn't order a drink. I am not big on soda, rarely have it. The dipped cone was okay, but the ice cream was a cream color. Not what I am used to. It tasted odd too. My experience at this location is extremely lacking. Parking is okay but the layout isn't great. Customer service people seemed to not give a crap and they don't follow what is advertised by corporate. Why bother driving over there. I have loved the Hamburger Stand/Weinersnitzel since I was kid. I was so excited to hear that they have locations in the Denver metro area. I stop by this location from time to time because I love their chili cheese fries so much. The food doesn't ever really look appealing. I feel like they don't try to make it appealing. But that isn't by complaint. The reason for my 3 stars instead of 4 is because the guy that works the drive thru is absolutely awful. He is rude, argumentative, and gets orders wrong all of the time. Every time I drive up and hear his voice, I cringe. It is always a thought of what am I going to have to deal with today? Today is an an example. He was arguing with the lady in the car in front of me. I couldn't hear the specifics but he was raising his voice and yelling at her. This is so unprofessional. Hamburger Stand offers the basics...burgers, hot dogs, fries, etc. However, they also feature some items you'll not find elsewhere...tamales and polish sausage sandwiches. The best thing though, is everything is pretty good and reasonably priced. I especially enjoy their basic hamburger. It's simple but satisfying. Warning: first world problem ahead. Don't you hate when you want to order at a drive thru because you don't want to get out the car but you want to order a savory main dish as well as a dessert that melts? I can't hold a soft serve ice cream while driving and have it not be melted after I get home and eat my main dish. As a result, you have to eat dessert first & and you have to do it while driving...safely. A banana dipped soft serve ice cream cone comes in two sizes (small or regular) and is a great summer treat. The banana forms a hard shell the way the chocolate dipped cones would. The banana is artificially flavored but I thought the dessert was still pretty enjoyable. I tried their onion rings and thought they were good/standard. One order comes with 7 rings. They have specials each day. Monday's special is a 99 cent soft serve cone. read more

Just moved out here and this is the best weinershniztel I've had in a while. It's fresh when you order and was clean when we walked in.

I drive up from the Springs to get my Weinerschnitzel chili cheese dog fix. I swear they lace with something that puts me into a state of euphoria! It's so addicting. This location is nice and clean and the owner is so nice. I went last Saturday after dropping off some people at the DIA. The nice young man that waited on me told me they were opening a location in Colo Springs in November! Happy dancing all over the place. I'm very happy! The junkyard dog was very good but the chili cheese dog was oozing with chili goodness!!!! p.s. I must confess I licked that paper wrapper clean and even a little glop of chili dropped on my phone and with no shame in my game I licked my phone. I received a promotion on my phone today 7/22/2020, for national hot dog day that offered me 5 chili dogs for 5 dollars. As I started to order I was rudely interrupted mid sentence by a woman who treated me very poorly, and she told me that they would not honor the deal. She stated they had no idea why the deal existed and that management would not honor thay deal. I drove several miles just for this deal and have been a loyal customer up u til today. From now on I will refuse to ever eat at a hamburger stand location and will be certain to let people know to never again visit that location. And the chain as a whole. I have been to this location in years. And now I remember why. I ordered a junkyard dog and a chili cheese dog and some jalapeño poppers. While the food was okay (honestly the only reason they got two stars) the atmosphere was horrid. The cashier was rude and rushed me to order. While I was here a customer came to the manager and said the his burger was cold. The manager proceeded to get in to an argument with him. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger, and somehow they managed to get sauce on every inch of the OUTSIDE of the burger, as well as on the wrapper itself. I didn't even bother complaining, I was too scared of what the replacement meal would look like. There was like 100+ people in the kitchen, and not one of them could stop talking long enough to make decent food. I wanted to slap somebody, but there were some cops eating in the booth next to me so I kept my cool. And really, that's all I need to say.............cops like this place. Enough said. That's not even the point, though. Even if the food was made right, it still would have been inedible garbage. I think everyone knows what to expect with fast food, but this was so bad it's almost disrespectful to call it "food" at all. It was just fast. The chili tastes like astronaut paste from a tube. It literally has the consistency of jello. I'm getting sick just writing this review because I have to relive the whole experience. Most of the customers had pajamas on in the middle of the day. This place is really good and I love going out on a Sunday night to this place with the boys! Burgers are classic American style and cooked to perfection. Sometimes I like to order something through the drive thru if I am in a hurry. The staff are great too! The Hamburger Stand has some of the greatest burgers I have ever tasted. The chili cheese fries are also a great appetizer to have before the amazing burger. Overall great place to go to! read more

I had came to this hamburger stand after work on a Monday already tired and pregnant. The manager who was working said he had given me my card back at the window, but he had not. I called 2 days later in search of my card only to find that they DID have it. So I was lied to by a manager and he unprofessionally handled my card. When I went to go get this back it was extremely frustrating and they could not hear me through the speaker and took their time helping. I don't think we will be going back to this location ever again due to the top of the employment not even knowing how to handle a customers card. read more

Everytime I go thru the drive thru the guy who always works the window swipes my card and he waits to give it back to me. He gives me my sodas before he gives my card back. I do not appreciate that. I have been going to Hamburger Stand since I was little. I don't go the Hamburgers though. I go for the Chili Cheese Fries and Chili Dogs! They have been my favorite since I can remember. My grandfather used to take me to the one on Colfax near Garrison for a sneaky snack, I miss that yellow roof, however I love that I actually live near the one on Havana. I go as frequently as I can. Thank you guys for always keeping the standard high here. There is one guy who works there and is the best, he seems to live there poor man. He never gets it wrong though and for that I am grateful. This was my first time at the Hamburger Stand and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. My boyfriend loves it and told me we had to go. And now he is disappointed with it as well. We went through the drive through and ordered 2 #1's (2 cheeseburgers meal). When we got home we realized they gave us 3 cheeseburgers and 1 fry. It's just always upsetting and getting home to realize you didn't get everything you paid for. I guess lesson learned to always check the bag before pulling away. Not sure if i will return. This Hamburger Stand has been there for over 30 years. The owners sold it a while back, not sure exactly when. They're menu was amazing and unique to include a delicious mushroom swiss burger and a green chili chese burger. Their chili and burger patties were very good. Sadly, after eating there today we won't ever return. Whoever bought the place did away with everything delicious, and the chili they replaced the original with is simply awful. The drive thru and customer service is also top notch. I didn't give 5 stars because the store manager and employees are very cheap with the condiments. I always have to ask for mustard on every visit. For example, today I ordered the $10 meal deal which includes 3 chili dogs, 3 corn dogs, and 3 orders of fries, the fake blonde Mexican lady at the window gave me 2 packets of ketchup and 2 packets of mustard for this huge order, which is my fault for not checking. This place never gives mustard unless you ask. I went to McDonald's after and ordered a large Coke bc any size is a $1 and had to ask the drive thru for some ketchup and mustard.
