I had two dental implants placed last August, but they fell out within days. I reached out to the office immediately, only to be informed that the doctor was on vacation in Italy and that I would have to wait until his return. When I requested to see another doctor, I was told I would have to wait two weeks for the original doctor to come back. Despite making several requests to be seen sooner, I was repeatedly told that I had to wait. During this two-week period, I suffered without care, and it felt like my well-being didn't matter to them. I endured over two weeks of discomfort, including bleeding and aching gums. Eventually, after escalating my concerns to their parent company, 42 North Dental, I received a refund four months later.

Extreme protocols are in place at Dr. Greenberg's office, and thankfully so. When you arrive, they ask that you call from your vehicle before coming to the door. The receptionist comes and escorts you in, takes your temperature and O2 reading, reads a warning form, and has you read and sign a Covid questionnaire. The hygienist is masked, shielded and gowned. Aside from all those understandable precautions, my cleaning and checkup went very well, as always. Before you leave, Dr.Greenberg comes in to give you a final oral check, as he always does. Gradually as an adult I have been "growing up" and dealing with my dentist anxiety. The pleasant staff and Dr Greenberg are definitely helpful in my desire to deal with my dental issues. So what do I like most? Dr Greenberg listens and helps me make the best decisions for my dental needs, he doesn't decide for me. He tells me my options and we make a plan. A plan that is flexible based on any dental changes and my financial concerns. Most of the Dentists that I have dealt with in my life have pretty much tried to decide for me. We're doing this, then we're doing that. There's been no discussion about other choices or why... they seemed to just want me to schedule appointments and show up with my money. Dr Greenberg office is well equipped with the latest equipment (so actually, I am not a dentist and don't know what all the latest dental equipment is... but Dr Greenberg seems to have a lot of high tech equipment, can't imagine there is much he doesn't have). He was still heavily medicated and tripped and stumbled his way out. I had to find a wheel chair on my own from the Yale office to get my sedated child safely to the car. Against my better judgement we took our youngest there too. I fully recognize that even using best practices there can be unwanted outcomes. When I expressed my concerns first to the nurse than the doctor that my child was reporting pain and was pounding on the arm rest to get them to stop or to acknowledge them and he was shushed and told to stop moving. Certainly there are limits to medication dosages and sometimes pain can happen. That is not the problem. Its the hubris and arrogance coupled with the gaslighting from staff. The reluctance to admit a complications. That is the problem. The doctor was better about it and had a reasonable explanation for every concern though was not apologetic/sympathetic that there were compications. The nurse was the real offender. Starting by saying my child was just being emotional. Minimizing this child's concerns and acting almost put out by my asking questions respectfully. Coastal has a nursing problem. Our dentist in new haven does not treat pediatric patients. We were referred to Childrens Dental Associates in Hamden. They got us in for an emergency visit within 24 hours. The staff there, especially Michelle and Dr. Chen were incredible. They put my son at ease, and explained every single thing they were doing for him. I truly feel blessed that they were able to treat my son. I will be returning here for him soon.
