I don't currently have insurance so this is important information. They wouldn't discuss the ballpark price range for routine services they likely have done countless times. Have you ever done this service before? What did you charge last time? I understand it can vary depending on the patient or complications in a given context but it's ridiculous to behave this way and makes you seem shady. A caveat would be sufficient. They insisted I needed to come in for an $85 exam to determine IF I would need a referral. "We're gonna need to charge ya a hundred bucks to tell ya if we sell skittles or not." Do you or do you not know the services you provide? What is the policy for making referrals? I'm pretty sure I was using industry standard terms and at no time was i impolite. The services in question were for replacing a permanent or bonded retainer and teeth cleaning. The receptionist spoke down to me in a patronizing tone. Her capacity for active listening did not exist.

I underwent treatment at this practice that included a root canal and crown placement. After the procedure, I continued experiencing ongoing tenderness and discomfort around the tooth and outer gum area. During a follow-up visit on 3/18, my concerns were acknowledged, but I was advised to "wait it out" because healing could take up to six months or longer. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen. I ultimately sought a second opinion from another dentist with over 25 years of experience, including updated X-rays and examination findings. I was informed that the crown was not seated properly against the tooth margins, leaving space where food was becoming trapped around the crown. This explained the persistent irritation and discomfort I had repeatedly expressed concerns about. What made the experience even more concerning was that after attempting to advocate for myself regarding the ongoing pain, incomplete billing concerns, and unresolved treatment issues, I was ultimately dismissed from the practice rather than provided with a meaningful resolution plan. As a result, I am now in the position of having to pay a second provider to correct work that was never properly completed the first time. Patients trust dental professionals not only to perform procedures correctly, but also to take patient concerns seriously when something does not feel right during recovery. In my experience, that trust was not honored here. I strongly encourage future patients to seek second opinions if persistent pain or gum irritation is dismissed as "normal healing," especially after major dental work.

I have been going to West Cobb Dentistry for 3 plus years since moving out to Georgia from California. I miss Dr. Chase Hall but the new dentist they brought on, Dr. Couk is fantastic. You can tell he has extensive experience and is very knowledgeable. He will go in depth what your symptoms are, root cause of the problem. Then he will lay out remedies and options for you. Unlike some dentists that try to sell you more services and products, he is looking out for your best interest. Believe me, I have had a dentist try to sell me a teeth guard that costs several hundred dollars telling me I can lift more weights! And of course, the staff here is magnificent! Even if you have dental insurance, unfortunately the cost of getting dental treatment is not cheap. I have had to get two crowns so far and Kellie Guffin has been very helpful with the process. I think being informed and knowing what the cost impact is going to be is very important. And I must add that the hygienists are very thorough and gentle. For the world of me I could not get my husband to get his teeth cleaned as he does not like going to the dentist but I "tricked" him to going and got help from the staff No need to say he booked his next teeth cleaning appointment. I was able to use my insurance as well so my actual out of pocket was just over $100. While at Kennesaw Mountain they told me I needed two crowns for the two root canals I had done at the Endo. The Endo recommended a crown and a filling, (one tooth was cracked), Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates told me I actually needed two crowns to the tune of almost $3,000. Come to find out I didn't actually need two crowns. The recommendation from the Endo was correct, all I needed was a crown and a filling this is after both dentists at my new dentist looked at the root canals done by my Endo. So in addition to being rude and lazy, they are also trying to over charge by pushing unnecessary dental procedures. Be very careful if you visit Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates. Make sure you reach out to your insurer prior to your visit and check your coverage or they may try what they tried with me and tell you that you don't have coverage. Also if they recommend a procedure don't hesitate to hit pause, take few days and get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.

I have been coming here for years, and I have not had any problems until recently. I think the…read morepractice has gotten so big, that the staff members just don't care. My most recent visit was a horrible experience for me. When checking in, I had to update my history. One question on there asked me to select issues or concerns I had more questions about, so I did. However, that was never addressed during my visit. The hygienist was initially nice, but I don't think she showed much compassion or concern. When taking my Xrays, she kept shoving the piece so far back in my throat that it was causing me to gag. I kept having to adjust it, which I could tell was irritating her. I then told her she's pushing it way too far back, and I can't help that I have gag reflexes. Then when she went to clean my teeth, she let the suction rest on my tongue, and when I tried to hold it, she said "no just let it rest there." So she starts cleaning my teeth, and water was splashing everywhere. After the water started splashing in my nose, I had had enough. I informed her that no other dental hygienist at that practice ever had water splashing on me like that. In the middle of her cleaning, the doctor walks in. He's pleasant as always, but he walks in asking her what type of chair/stool she likes better. Had a whole conversation which I feel like was not important to discuss in front of the patient. I also hate the fact that he came in the middle of cleaning instead of once it was over like he normally does. I want to ensure the hygienist did a good job. At any rate, the hygienist (Cara? Sarah?) continued cleaning and she actually scraped my gum a few times while removing plaque from my teeth. I squirmed in the chair so she could tell it hurt, but she didn't do anything about it. Lastly, she says "it looks like your fluoride is covered today." So she finished up and walked me to the front and said I was good to go. I went to the restroom, and when I got back, the receptionist said "I know she said you're good to go, but you actually owe for the fluoride. It looks like you had an $18 credit on your account but you still owe $17." I explained several times that the hygienist said it was covered, and she said "I know but she was looking at it wrong." Well that's NOT my problem. I told her that I hear what she's saying, but fluoride is optional. So I wouldn't have even gotten it. She finally said she would just "scrap the fee." I then walked out. Also, why did I even have a credit on my account? So they are overcharging people, but they never even notified me that I was being over charged. I still do not know why I had a credit on my account. So customers BEWARE! Overall horrible experience.
