My experience was absolutely wonder and caring and just so heartfelt. My little guy who is a small white terrier, was hit by a car and I was pretty upset and in shock. My Strongest Personal Warning About Hamilton Vet (Every word below reflects my personal experience and opinion.) My experience with Hamilton Vet was, without question, one of the most frustrating and disheartening situations I've ever dealt with as a pet owner. I left that place feeling completely dismissed, disrespected, and unheard. In my personal opinion, they did not take my concerns seriously, no matter how many times I explained what was happening with my dog. It felt like they had already made up their minds before even examining her. What shocked me the most was the atmosphere -- in my experience, it felt like the vets and staff were more focused on backing each other up than on actually helping my dog. Every single time I pushed for answers, I felt like I was being talked down to or brushed aside. Instead of showing curiosity or concern, it felt like they were trying to convince me nothing was wrong, even when the symptoms were right in front of us. The most painful part? My instincts -- the ones they dismissed over and over -- turned out to be right. I walked out of Hamilton Vet feeling defeated, only to discover later that my dog did have a serious issue that absolutely needed treatment. That realization hit me harder than I can describe. It is something I will never forget, and I would never want another pet owner to go through what I went through there. In my personal opinion, based on my own experience, I would not trust Hamilton Vet with any pet of mine again. Absolutely 100% do not bring your pet here if you love them or if you appreciate transparency and honesty! Sadly, we took our beloved family dog Trigger to this place after finding a huge tumor in his mouth. They told us that he was going to need surgery to remove it and beforehand we had to put a 75% deposit down. We paid the deposit and an hour and a half after dropping him off for surgery they called and said it was inoperable, and they would credit us the rest of the deposit money I put down since he didn't receive the surgery. After our dog was sadly euthanized a week later, I called and the friendly gal at the desk told me I had approximately $1000 credit. I then I received another call later that day saying I had a $5.10 credit. I also received an email during this time saying I had a $1600 credit. The manager, Ashley, was entirely rude in explaining that I actually had a $5.10 credit. I could not believe my ears the entire time she was talking to me, she was completely nasty when I was trying to understand all the discrepancies. They never provided me with a reason nor invoice showing how the 75% deposit was kept even though the surgery wasn't performed. When I spoke to the manager, she had to of been the most rude, snarky and unempathetic person I have ever spoke to in my life ... we are all still stunned! This all happened on speakerphone in front of my kids. They were appalled and couldn't believe someone at the veterinary office would act that way after our dog died at there office. She was literally fighting with me. She gave me absolutely 100% no explanation, respect or empathy even though we had just went through this horrible experience with losing our family dog within a week and a half! Terrible place for allowing the manager to act this way to grieving people. The manager even told me to take my future business elsewhere and she'd be happy to keep the $5.10 credit. Extremely unprofessional, I wish I would've read the reviews before bringing my precious dog to this place! A few of the other staff and the vet was very nice but the extreme rudeness and outright brash cockiness of the manager after the loss of our dog should never have happened and I will never go there again! My first two dogs were cared for at Tilghman, and sadly put to sleep there. My new dog a Great Pyrenees that was rescued from a terrible situation of being chained up outside for 2 years. I called for an appointment explaining that my dog needed two vaccines for boarding. I was charged for a physical examination on top of vaccinations as well. First of all, I did not ask for a physical examine. I wasn't told that a physical was required to get vaccinations. I can't believe that prices are disclosed before services. I called to get records sent over for a mutual client that we had and the older lady I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude. I called and asked very nicely if she could send over the pets records and the woman on the phone rudely cut me off and said to "slow down" and laughed at me and was overall passive aggressive the whole phone call. I have a 5 year old Shih Tzu, Gracie, who had the bottom 1/2 of her jaw removed on June 29th by Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital due to tumors. On July 6th, I noticed that Gracie needed her anal glands expressed. I called Hamilton Animal Care at 9:00 a.m. on July 6th and they were able to see her at 10:40 a.m. the same day. I informed them on the phone that Gracie had surgery to remove the bottom 1/2 of her jaw last week, she's in a cone, but it shouldn't interfere with the care she required from them. They acknowledged what I said and thanked me for letting them know. The nurse, Rose, took Gracie into the back for the anal gland procedure. Upon returning Gracie to my husband, the Nurse began to inform him he should not have "waited so long" ( we brought her in as soon as she showed signs), and my husband questioned why Gracie was no longer wearing the cone. The nurse then informs my husband that she removed her sutures in her mouth. She said that she read her charts and ASSUMED the sutures were from a SCHEDULED (not performed) surgery in MARCH. They ASSUMED that we not only left sutures in her mouth from a surgery they did not perform but also left her wearing a cone for 4 MONTHS. We brought our Gracie in for an anal gland procedure. That is the procedure we approved and requested. They never even walked the 20 feet to the waiting area to validate with my husband if any of their assumptions were accurate. They removed the sutures from her mouth after only 1 week post-op and a full 8 days before they were scheduled to be removed by HER SURGEON which was not AT THEIR FACILITY. When they realized their "mistake" they were callous and lacked sympathy. The nurse kept repeating that "she made a mistake". She even went as far to ask for permission to PUT THEM BACK. On the phone with the nurse, I informed them that they should not do any further procedures on Gracie. They should contact the surgeon for next steps, and they should assume any financial responsibility if Gracie required any further care by her surgeon. The nurse agreed. They then attempted to charge us for the visit ($45) and after my husband protested, they agreed to waive the charge. However, when he asked for documentation of what they did to Gracie - they refused to provide a receipt of service since he refused to pay. They claimed that they were unable to provide anything in writing - not the services performed nor the agreement to pay for any further services required due to their "mistake". My husband then left with no documentation. 3 other calls with the office occurred over the next 3 hours. All of them with the receptionist Diane. At no point were they remorseful or apathetic. Nor did the Nurse ever actually contact the surgeon to find out what action should be taken to rectify their mistake. Their story as to who performed the suture removal also changed. When I spoke with the nurse directly - she kept saying that she made the mistake. When I spoke with the receptionist, she said the Doctor made the mistake. We asked for three simple things - 1. To speak to the Doctor, 2. A paper listing the services provided that day, 3. A document agreeing, in writing, that they would take financial responsibility if the early suture removal required any further financial commitment from us. I was never given a satisfactory answer to any of my requests and so I decided to go to the office. The intention was to wait, in the waiting room, until I could speak with the Doctor directly. I was not their for more than a minute before Diane, the receptionist, called the police. She threatened that "I was going to go to jail" and that "I should keep my mouth shut". I waited, quietly, for the police officers to show up. They took statements from both of us. They informed me that the office agreed that it was their mistake, that I would no longer be welcomed back (I wasn't planning on it anyway), and that they would send the documentation later that evening. They did not agree to take on any financial responsibility for their mistake (if any was required). They would "evaluate their corporate policy" and let us know if this would be covered. They will say that my husband and I were disrespectful to them. I will say that we were incredibly upset not only by the situation but by their lack of sympathy or situational awareness of the severity of what they did. We certainly raised our voices, but we never cursed at them, threatened them, or requested anything that was unreasonable. They treated this egregious malpractice as a simple mistake. They lacked empathy and they offered us not a single ounce of recourse. I never did speak to the Doctor, I never got a straight answer as to who did the removal, and we never got a single thing in writing - not what they did or what they agreed to cover if necessary. read more

They will suggest expensive X Rays, medicines, and MRI's on your 15 yr old sick dog! I made an appointment for my dog as you should, my appointment time was 2:15pm. I arrived they put me in a room with my dog this was a Sat, no cars in the parking lot but 2 cars. I waited over an hour for nobody to exam my dog. I had two people come in there and tell me two different stories on why it was taken so long. Neither to say that nobody never came in to exam my dog, I had to walk out and go somewhere else. The only reason this happen was because the color of my skin. I am 100 percent sure if my skin color match theirs it wouldn't of been an issue. Hamilton animal care is great. Dr Paradiso took an important phone call from the lab even when she wasn't working. She then took the time to call me and give me the results. She made sure I understood the course of action that we were taking in the next step for my cats recovery. She has been there every step of the way to try to figure out this very rare illiness my cat has as we discovered. Even when I was not able to get in to see Dr Paradiso and needed to see someone since the swelling returned on my cat and we were done with the current antibiotic, Dr. Devos saw my cat and went the extra mile to learn about what was going on. I have LOVED Hamilton Animal Care Vet Hospital from day 1. They have been the most absolute caring and best people to care for our pets and we wish we found them sooner. Back in November we dropped off our dogs to be boarded because honestly we forgot and it was last minute and no one had room (blessing in disguise). We were 4 hours away across the state when I got the phone call my dog was seriously sick and we had to make the decision to put him under for an expensive surgery that might not fix the Bloat or put him down. Worst phone call you would want from the boarder. We made the difficult decision to put him down and not say goodbye. HAC from that point was extremely gracious with what we just had to go through, the time and comfort we received was over whelming. What we learned from the girls that took care of both of our dogs while we were away was touching and emotional. They took great care of our dog till the last second and stayed with him while he passed. We received a card with his paw print on it and a gorgeous box with his ashes. I will contact the the state and will make your practice pay for your negligence to properly treat my dog. I've been in multiple times my dog ate a piece of his toy. x-rays should have shown that, the 3 doctors all could not see that in 2 x-rays! you should be ashamed of yourselves to call your self doctors. You all specifically told me you had no idea what was wrong with him and recommended $3500 plus exploratory surgery when he was so weak you told me that the chances of him making it through were slim to none. I will go through every route possible to get my money back plus you will loose 5 dogs that currently go to your practice on top of that I will tell any one with an animal that you are all killers and to steer clear of your practice. NO I did not receive any notice about a follow-up booster in Sept/Oct because this conversation would have been taken place then. Also, I believed he was getting his annual vaccine as he had in the past. I WAS NEVER TOLD IN THAT EXAM ROOM EVER THAT THE VET WOULD GIVE MY PET A VACCINE FOR PUPPIES OR DOGS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN VACCINATED BEFORE. I spoke to M (at his time she was nice) at 11;30 a.m. told her the issue and she said she would look into it and get back to me herself. By 2;30 pm I decided to call back. I spoke to S who informed me the office manager was still not available. She got M on the phone with me since I told her I spoke to her in the morning. I then noticed the big change in M's attitude, she was a little nasty. She explained since the vet this time was not sure I REALLY vaccinated my dog had decided to give my dog a booster. Vet said she was healing very well,and looks very healthy,she was positive for parasites but she is all clear now from the dewormer and she was sorry that the receptionist forgot to call me to let me know. that we should recheck just to be sure. $268.55 was cost . They said we needed another visit for shots We scheduled 7/21/17 again they gave us an appointment card *3rd visit,Upon arrival the receptionist said "You missed your appointment and can't see the Vet because we Missed our appointment,and they couldn't fit us in ! Arrived on 8/11/17 ,with our kitten and PREPAID poop bottle filled. (In case your wondering,a prepaid Intestinal Parasite Analysis is an empty bottle that costs $30.50,this way they don't have to bill you later for checking to see if your pet has worms.Its all paid for in advance) We went back to the room to get her shots,took all but a minute,and back out to receptionist to pay. Her only reply was that Vet wasn't in and she would need to talk to her. ??? what??? So for the most part,the staff will tell you how lovely your pet is ,and oh how cute,they will laugh and joke. Butter you up,while the have their hands in your wallet,cha-Ching cha-Ching !But when it comes to business,they are disorganized,lack communication,charge exorbitant fees for medications and vaccines. Charge you for unnecessary procedures,and spread out the duration in order to charge you those fees. When you try to talk to them,they assume the"I have no power" or "that person isn't here" or "we will be sure to pass along the message" but you can be sure, you will walk out of there feeling defeated ,ripped off ,insulted. Hamilton Animal Care really isn't anything special cause it's truly ALL ABOUT THE MONEY and the rest is just a show to get you to fork it out. On a positive note,DR. Betz is kind ,sincere,knowledgeable and acted as though she cared There was also 1 receptionist of many that was on top of her game and I wish I could remember her name. But every time you go there,it's different people behind the desk. I guess this way Hamilton Pet care can keep employee costs down to a minimum by having many part time employees,That aren't invested in doing their job or give a shit because they aren't valued. We have had nothing but terrible experiences here. I'm not sure what anyone really sees in this place. We have never seen such a disorganized veterinarians office. They would tell us one thing and then do another and our Dr. was a joke! She acted like she couldn't wait to start her weeekend. We have boarded our older dog here twice this summer, and twice he has come home SICK. The first time, he had a cough and we had him checked at our vet for Kennel Cough. It was negative, so we thought he had just injured his throat when he was being walked. We bought a harness to use instead of a collar. He still came home after the second stay SICK, this time diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection by their Vets. He is on meds, but I expect another visit to our Vet for a followup very soon. Our younger dog stayed this last vacation as well, and she came home with the same thing! So we are batting 100% for dogs stays and coming home SICK!! I doubt we will be using them in the future. Our dogs are always healthy, and I don't really like them coming home Ill after being in a Kennel. The personnel there are nice, and the place is clean. I don't know how or why our dogs are getting sick there, but that is just another added expenditure when we return from vacation to sick dogs, and listening to them hack all day and night, and running them to our Vet for a followup. I have been visiting Hamilton Animal Care for around ten years now. With the exception of one doctor, who I believe does not work there anymore, the entire staff from scheduling, through reception, visit, and payment are professional, knowledgeable, and exceptionally caring. The building on Hamilton is the only one I have been to and it is always immaculate and for a veterinarian's office, the prices are reasonable with no pressured up-selling! After trying a place closer to my home, I take the extra time to make the trip and highly recommend them to anyone. If I were to have an unpleasant experience again, I would be just as quick to speak with the staff or the owner to ensure their reputation is not tarnished. read more

I Recently had to euthanize my family dog when Dr. Scibetta found that she had tumors all over her lungs. Thankfully we were able to bring our dog home for one more night at home and all of us got to say good bye. Dr. Scibetta came to our house and gave us the time to give our beloved dog a few final hugs. Dr. Scibetta took care of all the details for our pets cremation and the ashes box and paw print we received were beautiful.
