So this is getting a one star rating because of the Service department. I dropped my car off here the day after Thanksgiving and thankfully they accepted my vehicle even though it was 5min until closing. Once I got my vehicle in the computers and all my information in I was told that I would receive a phone call Monday afternoon but no later than end of day Tuesday once they do a diagnosis on it. Tuesday come and I have no phone calls or emails from them stating their findings. I give them a phone call at 5:55 and was told by an employee that "...It sounds like something with the engine." After he quickly reads off a list of problems that I did not hear. He also mentioned that it should be under warranty if it's internal. I should hear from someone by Friday.... Friday reaches and I still have not heard from no one nor received an email from them. So I drive up to the dealership because my vacation ends that day and I have to get tools out of my trunk and see if I need to get a rental car for work the following week. I get there and is told somebody will be with me shortly. I watch the employees walk by me multiple times and never helped me with anything but assisted other customers. It took for me to ask again whom do I speak to; because the guy who took my car hasn't been there since I dropped my car off, n order for me to receive service. At this point I'm pissed off but keeps my cool because I use to work in a collision shop and understand how busy it could get. I get to the counter and the employee does the exact same thing the other employee did on the phone, read off a list of problems and said It sound like something with the engine. It's scheduled to go to a Heavy Technician next week so you should receive a call by next Thursday the latest. I mention I need my tools and how disappointed I was it took this long for me to find out if I need to get a rental for work next week and he says " Oh no one ever offered you a rental...We give those out for the period of time we have your vehicle." So I get a rental (WITH RESTRICTIONS). I'm guessing you could imagine where this is going. Thursday come and still no phone call or email. So I wait until Friday to call. I called at 5:58 and after explaining to the lady my situation before I even finish she cuts me off and says I can leave a message for the manager and transfer me instantly without giving me time to reply or acknowledge that I heard her. I'm pissed off because they had my car since the Black Friday and NOT ONCE DID THEY CALL ME ABOUT WHATS GOING ON!!! They started working on my vehicle without my permission or even acknowledging me that they will work on it because it's under the manufacture warranty. I will not recommend this branch to anyone in the future. My car is still in their shop and I have not received a phone call from these guys and probably won't until after New Years because their Service department is under construction. read more

Costumer service sucks. Asked for price on a truck Alex the sales rep I was working with could tell me a price in two conversations. Then I ask him to make sure it was built in America and went on to say it's probably made here at one of the 4 truck plants, the one in Kentucky, Fort Wayne, flint and Texas . Sales people don't even know where there vehicle's are built, and by the way GM does not have a truck plant in Kentucky. Then he got political on me saying sooner or later all GM cars and truck will be built there. Just unprofessional. So then I decide to just go in there after work to just test drive the truck and talk to a different sales person. Just had one of the best service experiences here! Had Christina as a service advisor. She was welcoming and friendly. I was impressed how clean and nice the lounge was. Employees were super friendly with some kids in the waiting area. I had a standard oil change/tire rotation that took less than an hour. Christina got me when my car was done and check out was quick. took a 2016 silverado truck for a test drive, ran good drove good and shifted like a truck should, i asked him why it was priced so low his response was im not going to sit on my inventory like the rest of the car lots like he owned the place , salesmen said mon or Tuesday i'll call and we can get the paperwork ready, monday no call tuesday afternoon i decided to call, after i waited all weekend for them to clean it up because it was a trade in, his excuse for not calling was the transmission was slipping and bad and that they were going to sell it wholesale and then when i still wanted to buy it as is, he had the sale already set for a guy they deal with that buys them like that, if thats true why mention selling it wholesale . his name is brook jamieson, three things folks 1, any salesperson worth there weight in salt will keep in touch with someone willing to pay for the whole vehicle flat out and offer to pay the fee if paid for by a credit card 2. he lied and is a liar, i test drove that truck and even laid into it and it shifted smooth it only had 90,000 and those trucks have a 8l90 transmission which is pretty much a solid trans and [i have rebuilt 6l80 and 8l90 as well as 4l60e transmissions before and even a few engines] 3 dont shop there, if they know how this guy rolls this way then they all role that way, do not trust them and obviously dont go get a loan ahead of time or from them as if they are shady on just a single truck they are shady all the way around, it is simply not worth it when dealing with these people. and to the person that responds ask bj for my number he has it dont get on here trying to sugar coat my anger, i dont want to hear excuses or an apology in today's society an apology online is as good as a ppo from john wayne gacy also i see they make dam sure to have someone else put a review up with 5 stars if they get a bad review i hope ya got time it will be on every site i can find, i dont mind not getting what i want in life but i will not let anyone laugh me off and have me thinking i am getting something and then not even call me to let me know, maybe a few people holding a few signs will teach you a lesson because an imaginary hurt or a slight is flat out wrong, [caps key is broke] read more

Dealership replaced EVAP solenoid to fix error code P0446. They said it was sticking. I had already replaced the solenoid so I doubted that was the problem. Not surprised, the same check-engine code came back one week later. Still can't put gas in the tank without the pump shutting off every 20 seconds. Paid to have motor/trans mounts inspected. Dealer identified loose bolts and replaced them. Motor still sounds like it's moving when shifted into Drive. Went to another shop that confirmed trans mount is loose. One of my lug nuts is now missing, and the lug nut stud is broken off. I'm guessing someone over-torqued the lug nut. My hood is now sitting lower than the fenders, like someone slammed it as hard as they could and now it's not sitting even with the fenders anymore. I haven't even tried the hood release because I'm afraid of some new issue with the latch. Also, waited over an hour for a shuttle which might be okay if they hadn't told me it would ready shortly. I should have just walked home. The only part of my visit that doesn't feel like I got screwed is the oil change. Employees from the GM tech center all use this dealership, and I felt like they were given a higher priority than my vehicle. I was tempted to take my vehicle back here, but after spending $900 and still having the same issues (and new ones) I'm probably never going back there. read more

This is by far the worst dealership I've ever had to deal with. I would strongly suggest no one visits this location. Our vehicle was here for service and sat for an entire week not touched! I called to find out what was going on and the phone rep Donna was extremely rude and nasty! Her customer service skills were very poor. She transferred me to Tim who was also rude and had no idea what was going on with the vehicle either. He explained to me that it was told to my husband it'll be 3 weeks before we get our vehicle back; which in fact was a LIE! My husband would have never left our vehicle for 3 weeks for service. My husband was told it'll be the beginning of this week we'll have our vehicle back. I asked why wasn't it a call made regarding the exact diagnosis's of the truck and even a price and he told me that the vehicle hadn't even been looked at and there was nothing to tell me. In my opinion it's their job to keep their customers updated even if there is no information available, give us that option to wait it out or find somewhere else to take our vehicle. Tim said to me "well I can put a note on your account and say call every day to share nothing." He was a total jerk. I am still waiting on a call back from Scott the dealership manager; to discuss my displeasure with our experience with this dealership. To put the icing on the cake, what Tim suspected the issue was ended up not being the issue at all. Please run away from this dealership. Do not do business with them! Their rude, nasty, and very unprofessional. Donna needs to be taken off the phones completely and maybe handle something else. She is not a pleasure to speak with at all. During my call with actually both Tim and Donna, they continued to cut me off several times not allowing me to speak. I wasn't hollering, didn't display any anger until after Tim cut me off mid sentence as I was telling him my issue. Please speak to your staff about customer service. read more

I bought a used HHR from an awful dealership (Matthews-Hargreaves) that lied to me and totally ruined my car while fixing a dead headlight bulb. How? I don't know. I spent all day yesterday at different dealerships and Hamilton was my last stop. Tammy and Kelly were amazing and did everything they could to get me out of my lemon and into a lease in my budget which was hard since my trade in was worth less than I owed. I made an appointment for my dad to take his car in for an oil change, I made he appt for 11 am on a Thursday, he was there until 1:30. What's the point of appts if they just do whatever they want. He said a person without an appt came in and left with his oil change before he did. How is that right? He told a manager about this and they offered a free oil change in the future. I came here for work on my Saturn since the Saturn dealerships no longer exist. I was told to go to Buff Whelan but I chose to go here since Hamilton is closer to my house. I was not impressed. There are not many signs telling you where to take your car or where to wait once it is in the bay. And I walked around for a while looking for someone to acknowledge me or tell me where to wait for someone. The service writer I got seemed very aloof and not informative. I had to ask questions that should have been provided to me. And when I picked up my car, I was told something else was wrong, but they had not called me to properly get it fixed, they just tied a zip tie to it and called it a day. I would have preferred to pay the additional funding to get it fixed correctly while it was already in the shop. And to top it off, my service engine light came on (it was not on when I dropped it off) and they didn't seem to acknowledge that. Next time I need work, I will take my car somewhere else. read more

I got to my house and noticed oil all over my driveway so I look underneath to check to see if my oil pan was possibly cracked but no the filter was loose to the touch so loose i could twist it with one finger. PRE-OWNED LOT REVIEW Purchased a 2008 Colorado with 104k from their used lot in September of 2015. By March of 2016 i put 6000 miles on the Truck and developed a rod knock, engine was pulled by a professional engine re builder who stated "this engine looks like it has never gotten an oil change before they put it out for sale". long story short...fast forward to august 2018, the truck still doesn't run, that's right, this truck has been sitting for over two years, yes i still have a payment on it, and yes because it is still financed i MUST maintain full coverage insurance. re manufactured engines for the truck approach 3200 dollars and with install i am looking at over 4 thousand dollars to replace the engine in a 7 thousand dollar truck (that was before it sat and developed "lot rot, the brake rotors and pads are sized and surface rust has enveloped this dam thing, some of us do not have this kind of money. I am still maintaining the 04 grand am with 294K miles that i intended to retire after this truck purchase. I realize that Hamilton does NOT have any obligation to a used vehicle after purchase but regardless they should not have been completely dismissive of the engine trouble i had within 6 months of purchase. The only reply replies i received were "should have purchased the warranty that was offered with the truck". I realize that it is a used vehicle and it will have an issues, and that i assumed all responsibility from the purchase, but when they get vehicles they more than likely acquired from a wholesale auction they should do a much better job at vetting and inspecting these vehicles before they go on the lot. read more

But anyways, I took my 8 month old car to Hamilton b/c the power steering was acting up and I already had two other ppl look at it and they said nothing was wrong. (i didnt buy my chevy from their dealership) The service dept was great! Very efficient and great at giving me the best answers and service on anything. They had to keep my car for 2 days to wait for parts and replace so they hooked me up with a rental and took care of everything. My car was fixed on time and they washed it and I was very satisfied. I think his name was Jack in the service dept., he was great!! I will be taking my car there from now on for everything, including oil changes. P.S. their new lobby/waiting area is amazing too. They don't even deserve one star. I live 175 miles away from Hamilton Chevy. I found a car listed on auto-trader 2 weeks ago that I was interested in purchasing. I emailed Hamilton immediately at got a auto - response from a salesperson named Tammy Keith stating she would respond to me as soon as possible. I never heard back from her. In the mean time I left her 3 voicemails and sent 2 emails over a period of a week and a half asking if the vehicle was still available and any information. No response. I finally called back and spoke with another salesperson today after along holiday weekend. He (Brooke) confirmed they yes the car was still available but the manager had been driving it back and forth to work so the mileage is not the same as listed. I asked for updated mileage count and pictures of any exterior damage/ scratches. I explained that I was already frustrated by not hearing back from Tammy. He was very nice and I felt that I was finally being helped. I was wrong. After not hearing back from him, a few hours Later I finally called again. About 30 minutes later he sent me pics of some scratches and an updated odometer count - almost 4,000 miles more that what was listed on auto trader! I said my family and I were still very interested and asked if he work with the price as mileage was more than advertised. And now it was closer to the end of the warranty. He said he would ask his sales manager and get back with me. I also asked if he could help with any paint fixes with the scrapes. Once again, I never heard back. I called several times tonight and left a few messages. I even had the salesperson paged but never heard back from him. I finally sat on hold for several minutes while he was "on a call" only to finally speak with him because I would not hang up. Obviously he was avoiding me. He said the manager said there was nothing they would do for me. I was dumbfounded. Not only was I disrespected as a customer but they misrepresented on auto-trader. I was directed to speak with the guy in charge of the repair part Joe Ankrom and he completely blew me off telling me to call the warranty company myself. I called them and they said that all the work done should have been covered and that it is the dealerships job to call and make the claim. I couldn't do it if i tried. Hamilton Chevrolet delivers subpar customer service. This is my assessment after repeated bad experiences there. "If they're so bad, how come you have gone back time and time again?" you are probably asking. The answer is, I've purchased two cars from them and for a long time I went around believing that this would give me a leg up on service there, but now I realize that this is a misguided belief. Does anyone think visiting a car dealership for repairs is a pleasant outing? I sure don't. I thought that by being a repeat customer at Hamilton, I might make the experience more pleasant (new cars after all stickered with a "Hamilton VIP" decal on the windshield) but if my treatment is VIP, I would hate to see how non-VIPs are treated. Two chief gripes about my last visit that boil down to the customer having to do much of the work you would think the service department would cover. 1) Communication. I had to do almost all of the calling to find out what was going on with my car. Pledges of "I'll call you shortly and let you know" and "I'll call tomorrow with an update" were not honored. I had to repeatedly call, leave multiple voicemails because hours passed between them, and do a ton of work just to get update. 2) Their inability to proactively determine warranty coverage. You would think that by buying the car there, buying an extended warranty in one of the sales offices there, and coming back for repairs, they would have all sorts of data on me. But in this case, I was quoted a $720.00 repair. I balked, asked if there was anything covered by warranty, and was told, "Let me talk to my manager. I'll get back to you." Again, I had to call back many hours later to find out what was going on. "You'll need to pay a $100 deductible, but yeah, that is covered. That's a lot better than $720, right?" "Sure, but I have an extended warranty. Zero deductible. Comprehensive coverage." "You do?" More of the "I need to make a call, let me get back to you," song. Long story short, everything was covered, and I ended up paying nothing. But I had to bring this all to their attention. Seems crazy that with all the data they have on me (I get a birthday card from them, for heaven's sake!) they don't have my warranty protection on file! That's just wrong in 2016. Again, I had to call back to find out how good my coverage was. On my last conversation with the guy he made light of this and said, "I told my boss I didn't want to call you because we went from $720 down to $100 down to nothing, and a call to you might have meant me paying you!" Despite being told I would be called the next day with an update on when the car would be ready, you guessed it, I had to start calling up in the afternoon. I'll try somewhere else next time I need repairs, and believe me, I will tell everyone I know that Hamilton operates, servicewise, in its own little world. Phone calls are never made, voicemails go unanswered, and you have to work, work, work, to find out about your car. And you darn well better know about your warranty yourself because they aren't going to try to find out about it for you. read more
