Dave Szymanski was recommended to help us find a new car. We hit the jackpot with this referral. Dave worked incredibly hard to understand our wants and needs and it was because of Dave that we just leased our Jeep Wrangler with Szott Auto Group. What stood out most with Dave was his honesty, extensive trusting knowledge and a sincere desire to help. We feel grateful and blessed to have experienced this truly exemplary level of customer service. Towards the end of this year, we will be actively looking to replace another car and will definitely be calling on Dave to help guide us through our next transaction with Szott's. If you are looking for a new car, ask for Dave Szymanski! He is GREAT!

I recently bought a used truck from Terry at Szott M-59. It had just come in on a trade and had not been checked over or cleaned. It was just what I was looking for, and he let me test drive it. Both Terry and the sales Manager Paul were low pressure and very helpful. It really came across that they deeply cared about making the customer happy. We came to a very fair price and the truck was to be checked and cleaned and would pick it up. When I picked it up it was still dirty and the owners manual packet was missing. Terry made it right and got the manual to me. This is an area that needs improvement and Terry told me they are looking at other options for cleaning, but overall buying this truck was a very good experience.

And to add insult to injury, after having my Truck for 3 weeks, we had to go back because the service codes were never reset and the dealership failed to include my employee discount on parts. We recently had a customer come to us extremely upset after visiting this dealership, and for good reason -- he was given blatantly incorrect and misleading information about a transmission we installed. The vehicle was fitted with a Jasper remanufactured transmission, which includes a new torque converter as part of the unit. The dealership told the customer the torque converter had not been replaced. This claim is false and also impossible to verify without removing the transmission -- something they did not do. They also told the customer the transmission contained the "wrong fluid." Again, this is an unsubstantiated claim. Fluid type cannot be identified without taking a sample and having it tested, which was not performed. The transmission was filled with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic LV HP, exactly as required by Jasper. To add to the misinformation, the dealership pointed out a zip-tied shifter cable as if it were related to the transmission install. The vehicle arrived in that condition, and this is a very common, well-documented issue on these Chevrolet trucks. The manufacturer has since updated the part. Replacing the shifter cable is a separate repair, requiring additional labor and cost (typically around $500), which the customer had already declined due to budget limitations. Providing customers with technically inaccurate information -- especially information that cannot be verified without disassembly -- is irresponsible and creates unnecessary confusion and stress. We stand fully behind our work, which was completed to Jasper's exact specifications. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others to question the accuracy of technical explanations given here.

I am now facing approximately $2,600 in repair costs for an issue that I believe should have been properly diagnosed while my vehicle was still under warranty. To make matters worse, my driver-side wheel has actually gotten stuck and would not move while I was backing up. This is a serious safety concern, not just a minor mechanical issue. I also spoke with the assistant manager, Mark, about my concerns. Unfortunately, instead of allowing me to explain the situation and hear me out, he repeatedly cut me off during the conversation. I found this extremely frustrating and felt like my concerns were being dismissed rather than taken seriously. As a customer, I expect a dealership's service department to thoroughly diagnose a vehicle when it is brought in with a warning light and a potentially serious mechanical problem--especially when the vehicle is still under warranty. Now I am left dealing with a $2,600 repair bill and a potentially dangerous problem that should have been addressed much sooner. I am very disappointed with the service I received from Suburban Ford of Waterford and, more importantly, with the way my concerns were handled. I hope management takes this situation seriously and reviews how warranty and safety-related complaints are being handled by the service department.

This…read morewas much different from the stereotypical experience one expects from an auto dealership. My salesman, Marquise "York" Tally was outstanding. Some auto dealerships talk about how the customer comes first, but this dealership, and specifically Tally, lives this mission daily. He puts his customers first making sure they're educated about the vehicle they purchase without all the high pressure tactics you've come to expect from the industry. Besides treating you like royalty, Talley also makes sure that you're receiving the best deal possible without throwing in needless add-ins at the end to bloat the price and confuse you. To tell you how much Tally cares about the customer experience, while I was waiting for my new '24 Outlander PHEV to be prepped for purchase, he bought me dinner and personally delivered it to the dealership. I've never had a car salesman do that. Heck, my wife wouldn't even do that. This isn't something he did to persuade me to purchase the car since I had already signed the papers. He did this out of the goodness of his heart and to create a customer for life. During my original test drive, he went out and purchased a Starbucks beverage of my choosing. I've never received this level of appreciation from my former salesman at the Acura or Lincoln dealership. And those are considered "luxury" brands where the dealership experience is supposed to be at a higher level. Neither beat the Waterford Mitsubishi experience. Even after I signed on the dotted the line, the royal treatment continued by both the finance and sales manager. Each of them made sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase and that any issues I had with my new Mitsubishi, were remedied to my satisfaction. Folks, I've been to many auto dealerships throughout the years. Simply put, this was the best auto dealership I've ever been to. If you're in the market for a new Mitsubishi or a used vehicle, take a trip out to beautiful Waterford, Michigan and experience this gem of a dealership. No matter how far you live from the dealership, it's worth the trip to experience an A++++ auto buying experience. Be sure to ask for "York." And tell him Brett sent you. P.S. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a fantastic vehicle. I recommend the SUV as much as I do the dealership.

Everything was going great until it came time to fill out some paperwork. Gillette handed me unfilled out paperwork and ask for my signature. I told him I was uncomfortable signing unfilled out paperwork and if he could fill it out first. He said he didn't want to fill it out because he didn't want to put in the wrong information. It was for a $500 rebate we all agreed upon. He said his manager would fill it out later. I had a bad feeling in my gut because this was so unprofessional. I took the paper with me until the manager could fill it out. He handed me more things to sign that you couldn't even read because the ink blurred out the words. I told him to reprint it so I can see what I'm signing. Turns out we weren't even getting the car that we agreed on from the beginning, and it had a total different VIN #! They had us thinking it was the car we originally came in for. The manager just said well we are almost finished with the signing, so let's just continue anyway. The car price that we came for was a $650 difference, and he wouldn't give us that same deal. I forgot to bring back the rebate paperwork because he never offered to fill it out in front of me with my signature. He made me come back, which made me super late to pick up my child from school. I told him if he would have filled out the paperwork correctly the first time instead of being shady, I wouldn't have to come back and do this. I told him I won't sign unless he filled out the paperwork in front of me first. He then rights 500 with no dollar sign and asked me to sign. We later learned that the rebate was actually $2,500, and he just gave us $500. I wonder where the other $2000 will go and why he wanted to fill out my rebate for later after I signed..... watch out for this place.

The car was retaining NO oil because the oil filter housing unit was broken and the filter itself was loose. Let that sink in. This wasn't a minor oversight -- this was a serious mechanical issue that could have destroyed the engine if I had driven it any longer. This tells me one of two things: 1. The vehicle was never properly inspected, or 2. It was inspected and sold anyway. Either option is unacceptable. Buying a car should not come with immediate warning lights and a risk of catastrophic engine damage. I trusted this dealership and now I'm left dealing with stress, repairs, and wondering what else was ignored. I would strongly caution anyone considering buying from [Dealership Name] to think twice and get an independent inspection -- clearly, theirs can't be trusted. My daughter saw a used truck she liked at this dealership and worked with a guy named Steve. Steve indicated that all used vehicles go through a thorough multi point inspection. She put all she had into this truck, wrote them a check, and drove down the road. Two miles down the road we heard some strange noises, the dash lights were blinking and the truck started to rev and shake. We turned around and went back to the dealership but Steve had left. The truck was unsafe to drive so we left it there. Steve called the next day and he told us we could not return the vehicle, they would not give us our check back as they had already deposited it. They held it for a few days and then Steve called back and said this truck never had an inspection on it and they are doing it now. They found things wrong with it but again would not give us our money back. He said they can fix it. They let my daughter take a potentially dangerous vehicle on the highway without even looking at it. After they had it for many days, and because we couldn't return it, we picked it up. Two days later my daughter got a message that the truck needed an oil change. We found out they did not even do that when the truck came in and during the inspection. Shortly after my daughter drove to South Carolina for the season to work. When she got there she had to take the truck to 3 different auto mechanics as it continued to have issues. And it still does not run right and it's very concerning. It has been almost a year and the truck has cost us over $4500 in repairs, and it continues to have major issues. Have tried discussing with the dealership but they will do nothing. It's irresponsible, unethical and greedy companies like this that hurt people, and they should be held accountable.
