Do not trust your clothes to this hack. I took a brand new linen jacket to this guy, because he is a local and I like to support local small business owners. I asked in advance if he could shorten my sleeves in time for an event. He said he could. I got the coat back two days later, and he had pretty much destroyed the sleeves. The coat had 4 functional buttons near the end. Instead of shortening the sleeves at the shoulder like any skilled or reputable tailor would, he cut the insides at the cuff and folded them, leaving only 3 buttons instead of four and having the buttons start right at the edge of the sleeve. And when he was done, the sleeves he altered weren't even the same length. One was a good 1.4 inch longer than the other. When I questioned these things, he then tried to tell me the problem was with the jacket. That this was the only way to alter jackets that had sleeves with buttons like this, thinking I was some idiot that wouldn't know any better. Then he insisted I pay anyway or wouldn't return the the $450 jacket he'd just wrecked. This guy is an absolute hack and fraud. Do not trust this guy with your clothes. If I could give him zero stars I would. read more

I can verify that this guy is indeed a hack. I brought 3 expensive 1930s style trousers in to be hemmed with a 2 inch cuff and paid in advance. I was very specific and descriptive about how I needed the hems to be and he kept brushing me off saying he's a professional and he knows what to do and that I shouldn't worry. I trusted his word base on his supposed years of experience. He gave me a window of 1 week to finish the job. I heard nothing for two weeks until I finally called him and he said they were done. When was he going to call me? No idea but fine. When I show up, he gives me the trouser back hemmed but with no cuffs at all. I told him I needed cuffs and he said he just forgot even though it was written on the order sheet that was pinned to the pants. I asked for my money back and he refused. He said they are still good but I argued it's not what I asked for at all and the style of the pants calls for cuffs. He finally agreed to give me back half the money but my pants are basically ruined because he did not leave enough fabric to redo it with the correct cuff. To top it all off, the sewing work on the hem was terrible. It was only loosely sewn and easily came undone, and he left splits in the seams of the edge of the pants. It was so frustrating especially because he had no excuse other than he forgot and that his mind wanders sometimes. He did not take responsibility for the mistake at all. I called about 3:00 pm on a weekday to get a pair of pants hemmed. I asked if I could wait while it was getting altered. The elderly gentleman was very accommodating and told me to come on down. Not only did he get to me right away, but he was everything old school tailors were famous for- personable, opinionated with knowledge/experience, and his work was clean and prompt. He's old school, and that's just the way I like these types of establishments. I used to frequent my old tailor in corona, a tiny old Italian lady for over 10 years before she retired. I'm glad to have found a new place closer to where I live now, but I think he's also shutting down the business soon. Love stylish Italian Clothing... Tiny place......a bit pricy... You'd miss it if ya blinked an eye.. The lady was nice...I think she was new.. But I try to be kind...cause I still remember my first job.. A snap came off of my shirt.. I went to my old cleaners...and he was rude... So I called Palm Center Cleaners who referred me here. So I arrive at Hamilton LTD. and the lady right away said she could fix it.. That's cool. It's one of my favorite shirts. My stomach always pops buttons.. But...I'm still trying to figure out how a snap popped off. In case ya don't know what a snap is.. Get a western shirt...they have snap instead of buttons. Easy to take off...easy to put on.. Finding a good tailor is like finding a good barber or a good mechanic. I used to go to my hometown tailor even after I moved to the Covina area. Unfortunately, that place closed a while back. I needed to get my suit taken in, but was hesitant to have that kind of thing done at a dry cleaners that happens to do alterations on the side. Hamilton's doesn't have much of an online presence but I happened to pass by while walking off some ice cream from the Sugar Bowl with the kid. I brought my suit in and talked to Michael, the proprietor of the shop. The inside of the shop is no-nonsense. Suits line both sides of the store with shirts, ties, and shoe displays down the middle. The tailoring area is located to the rear of the shop, with two curtained dressing spaces. I put on my suit and discussed what I wanted done. Michael provided some helpful feedback. The guy knows his stuff; apparently, he comes from a family of tailors. He told me how he didn't like tailoring when he was a boy and his father made him do it, but he's glad he did because he loves what he does now. Definitely old school, in a good way. Anyway, he made his notes in chalk and quoted me a price for the work. Admittedly it probably would have been cheaper to get it done at a dry cleaners, but like a good haircut, I don't mind paying a little more for skillful work. Like the sign in the window says, "quality is remembered long after price is forgotten." Or something like that. Sue me I didn't take notes. BONUS: Michael said it would be ready for me the next day. So next day, I pick up my suit and it looks great. The quality of the work is outstanding. I can't wait to wear it to work. LIKE A BOSS. Needless to say I'll be back with my other suits. I wanted to support this small business. Went in to get measurements done. Just measurements. I would have paid and tipped for his time. I encountered a bitter and rude old man who was apparently having a real bad day. I believe this gentleman is not a real tailor as he has limited knowledge and how to take full body measurements. I'm surprised he can make rent on the space his shop occupies based on his personality. To say he was rude was understatement. Even when we spoke Spanish to him he got heated and aggressive. Proper measurements include arm span, neck, pant length, etc. not just waist and shoulders. His reaction when I asked for more measurements was nothing short of a childlike melt down. It was just measurements. I believe he's a fraud who only does limited tailoring. Had I known I had to question his expertise, I would never had bothered him. I pray he finds a growth mindset to get past his inability to service customers. His attitude was unfortunately contagious. Beware of this guy. He's definitely going throw some heavy stuff but the public shouldn't have suffer through his mental issues. I pray that God blesses his heart with the kind of patience and compassion required to run a successful business. Writing this review with my spouse's Yelp! account: I am about to move out of state, so I have wanted to give a shout out to the person who has been my tailor in California for the passed 3 or 4 years. Michael is an AMAZING tailor! Sure, there are dry cleaners that'll do a hem and what not! But of you want the clothes to look like they're made for you, then you go to a professional tailor. Michael is a bonefide professional. I have bought in clothes, and when he returns them, they look like the pair of slacks or the jacket was made for me! Good tailor is more than just a hem--pinching, tapering, overall fit, etc. Once I found Michael, I stayed with him. And he NEVER failed me. If I am lucky at my new out-of-state residence, I will find a tailor that is HALF as good as Michael--if I'm lucky! I wholeheartedly recommend him. read more

The altercation itself came out great. The guy that works there is extremely nice and friendly. His store was clean inside and all and the turn around on my pants was quick overall! But he was a bit pricey compared to other competition businesses but you get what you pay for. read more

I went with needing to have patches sewn on to it, and needed to have it done by the early the next day.. and to my surprise they had it all done and ready for Me to pick -up that same day(with-in 3hrs) and it was a good reasonable price for that job..
