We had a suit and two dresses that needed significant altering. My partner is a short guy, and always has trouble finding suits that fit. I am a tall person, with wide shoulders, and I always have trouble getting dressed to fit right in the shoulders. We found Linda's tailoring using yelp, called them, and they gave us an appointment right away. The shop is nice, with some dressing rooms so you could try on your clothes then they both come in work on pinning up your clothes exactly how you wanted to fit. Then when it's correct, they give you an appointment to come back. It's all done very professionally and the quality of the work is very good. Although it ended up being much more expensive than I thought, we now have two dresses for me and one excellent suit for my guy. And all of them fit perfectly! I needed my dress shortened along the lace hem, and I couldnt tell at all where they cut and rebeaded - the work was great. They added a bustle and fitted the dress along my curves. I had 2 Chanel jackets that I purchased vintage which showed my correct size on the tag, but one was a size too small and the other 2 sizes too small, I assume they were previously altered, and one had a tear on the silk inner lining. Not only were they able to tailor the jackets to my size, they also widened the arms, and fixed the torn inner lining. It was perfect. I'm glad that there was enough material in the seams. The pricing I thought was ok for the amount of labor it will take as it is a more complicated project. The delivery date was 1 day delayed, but I was ok with it. I will go here in the future for sewing needs, I'm confident with their skills as I know how to sew, but did not want to undertake this alteration for fear of damaging the item. read more

I have taken 4 pairs of work pants and 5 pairs of jeans to be hemmed here. Viet and his wife are so friendly and do a great job. The hemming they did on my work pants was a lot neater and higher quality than the factory hem. I asked for original hem on my jeans and you can't even tell they were hemmed at all! This place destroyed my wedding dress. I had such a terrible experience being my dress here for alterations. Please beware and don't bring wedding dress here. To begin they aren't not upfront with pricing nor do they a pricing breakdown. They charged an arm and leg for minimal alterations and left my dress looking completely off. Initially they couldn't find my dress, nor had that started any work after being there for almost 2 weeks. I think they had to do the work super fast and just did it terribly. I had to go back 4/5 times, and have them fix the inside which seemed like they forgot to sew. Anyways, I have to walk down the aisle with a crappy dress thanks to this place. Brides I suggest you find elsewhere to get alterations it's not affordable nor is it good work. read more

I've gained some weight since the last time I bought a suit, in 2018. It was tight but still fit at weddings and funerals and fancy-schmancy concerts from 2021 through last year, but when I tried it on a few days before the most recent funeral I attended, I realized that I had gained more weight than I wanted to admit. The funeral was on a Thursday morning, and it was Monday (a holiday), so I hoped I could buy a new suit and get it tailored in time. Then I remembered my dad raving about his tailor Viet, so I took the suit to Viet's shop, Linda's Tailoring. Although he wasn't sure at first whether he would have enough fabric to let the pants out as much as I wanted, Viet quickly figured out a way to do it by adding fabric where it wouldn't be visible and by altering the pockets. Ten minutes after I arrived and he had taken measurements, I was off will full assurances that the suit would be ready by Wednesday afternoon. I worry about everything, so I hoped and prayed that at least the pants would fit. (I could wear the jacket, but it was too tight--workable, but not ideal.) The suit was ready by four p.m. on Wednesday, and when I tried it on, the pants were actually too big! That might not seem ideal, but it's fine; that's what belts are for. I was just amazed that Viet had been able to increase the waist size so much without ruining the pants. The jacket also fit much better, and the suit was fine at the funeral. In fact, it was a little roomy, but suits are always tight and uncomfortable, so I was glad for the extra space. Viet is a treasure, a veritable sartorial wonder-worker. He's friendly, honest, confident, and--most importantly--realistic. I truly believe that if he hadn't thought he would be able to tailor the suit to fit me he would not have tried. But he was able to do it, and I'm grateful to him. He's not the cheapest tailor out there, but you get what you pay for, and as far as tailors go, his prices are actually quite reasonable. If you need alterations for any occasion, give Linda's Tailoring a try. This many five-star Yelp reviews can't be wrong. read more

If your tailoring request is less conventional, I recommend bringing in some photos to work through what you're looking to do.
