Hammond's Gourmet Ice Cream is in the Koko Marina Shopping Center across the marina from CostcoLand. I've been her once before and the ice cream is excellent. The interior is large with several tables, banquette seating as well as counter seating. Today it was nearly empty - they just opened at noon - but I wanted to be on my way. Got a double scoop in a paper bowl - they have waffle cones. Pineapple Guava Sorbet caught my eye and I paired it with a Condensed Milk Ice Cream. Bits of real pineapple in the sorbet. Absolutely a deal-breaker. - The miniature waffle cones were crunchy & tasty. 2nd visit: Took family for National Ice Cream Day because after 1st visit, preferred risking $2 a scoop instead of $6.25. - Both were too sugar sweet, the sweetness overpowered the flavor. - - Both melted too fast. - The lilikoi cream had ice crystals! My daughter and I stopped by after the beach and found this gem! Not only do they have yummy ice cream but they're so nice and friendly! The gentlemen working was the only worker there at the time but he took the time to help us after my daughter dropped her ice cream and on the ground after we've paid and left. (Mind you there was already a line forming) He even proceeded to tell us it was probably his fault by not pressing in the ice cream to the cone hard enough! We offered to pay but he insisted we not. Came for National Ice Cream Day. Wow I got parking and the line was not too long. It still took a while to proceed inside to order. Bummer I got the scooper that gave small scoops. Her scoop does not even pass the top of the cup like the others. I bought 2 scoops and it was still small. Oh well. The man doing left handed scoops gave way bigger scoops he decided to give scoops to the male person while the female worker was already working on his companions order so I got the woman who gave tiny scoops. Bummer. Coffee is always good but it melted so fast. A pool of melted mess. Have to see if I can refreeze. Smooth and creamy. Thanks for discount. My first time to Hammond's and I think this might be my new favorite place to get ice cream. We got the 6-count ice cream flight so we could try multiple flavors. You can choose either a waffle of cake cones. We chose a variety of three sorbet and three dairy ice creams. I'm not much of a sweet tooth so it was really nice to see a large variety of sorbet options that weren't dairy-heavy. We tried: 1. Strawberry guava sorbet- my favorite sorbet of the flight. You could distinctly taste both flavors and it was super refreshing 2. Pineapple lilikoi sorbet- tasted like a pineapple smoothy 3. Calamansi- tasted exactly like the fruit and really hit the spot 4. Cookie dough- surprisingly my favorite out of the entire flight. The ice cream had generous chunks of cookie dough without being too heavy or too sweet. I would get this one again as its own scoop 5. Campfire- tasted like vanilla with a hint of a smokey flavor 6. POG cheesecake- very interesting and something new! We went to Hammond's ice cream at Koko Marina for the umpteenth time this past Sunday, on National ice cream day! At first glance, the line was daunting because there were a good 30 people ahead of us, but we set an alarm to reassess our place in line after 5 minutes to see if it was still worth it. It was worth it! Hammonds has their process down to a tee, where they are able to move customers along efficiently and effectively, so that was much appreciated! Due to national ice cream day, the promo was $1/flight sized ice cream, max of 6, and $2 scoops. This was a huge discount considering their gourmet ice creams are typically much more expensive- about 2x more per flight scoops. I like that they have the flights options so you basically can sample different flavors. I will definitely do that next time. We ordered affogato which was one of the best I have had. Perfect balance between the espresso and vanilla ice cream. Strawberry flavor was good I could still taste chunks of strawberries in there. The ube didn't taste like ube at all so I will try other flavors next time. Very simple yet cute decor. I love that they have a community corner so anyone can leave books or toys there for others to use. My toddler had so much fun and we got to enjoy our ice cream peacefully. One of my favorite ice cream shops ever!!! I always get a flight of 4 whenever I am indecisive of what flavors they offer. They often change up their flavors so I recommend to check out their instagram because they upload a more accurate menu by date! But tonight I got a flight of 4 with flavors of 2 Vietnamese coffee, banana milk, and Nutella strawberry. I love love love the Vietnamese coffee ice cream here! They do it perfectly!!! This is a very cute, cozy ice cream shop. We opted for the ice cream flight since we couldn't choose. Every flavor here is fresh, you can just tell the quality. We were talking to the owner Ryan about the lovely plants around the shop and he mentioned his wife designed the area. I absolutely loved it! I love that Hammond's has a flight option, which was much needed for all their flavors! There's lots of parking in the lot and both indoor and outdoor seating. I ended up getting the biscoff cream, honey yogurt, rice krispy partay, and the lilikoi cream. I did half in a waffle cone and the other half in the regular cake cone. I would definitely recommend getting the waffle cone for all. They were nice and crispy and the perfect texture. All the flavors were good but my favorite was probably the biscoff cream. This location seems perpetually some kind of ice cream shop, which is good as every shopping center needs at least one. Hammond's is the current title holder of Koko Marina's ice cream shop and they hold the title well. A clean, well lit, with interesting flavors, and an instagramable background too! Parking is shared with the other tenants. We stopped by after lunch at Greek Marina after a hot trek up the lighthouse hike because my better half is always hankering for ice cream and it was a blazing, cloudless day. Immediately the Vietnamese coffee caramel Oreo called to me. Three things I like in one ice cream flavor? Seriously, how can I not get this? But because the Holidays are around the corner, we also got the Jack Daniel's Eggnog because, well, whiskey ice cream is also great. Plus, these two flavors work well together in a double scoop. The eggnog had a bit of a kick but did not actually taste boozy. It was creamy, rich, and tasted like eggnog. The ice cream itself was a bit airy and melted somewhat quickly. To compliment the eggnog, the Vietnamese coffee caramel Oreo was dense, with strong coffee flavor, but the bitterness was cut by the sweetness of the caramel and the Oreo bits added texture. If you like coffee, almost certainly you will enjoy this flavor. One of the staff, I'm guessing the owner said, "It will change your life." I don't know about that, but that flavor is definitely in my top three ice cream flavors now. Prices are fairly normal for the ice cream parlor business, staff are polite and efficient, and there are plenty of places to sit down and eat your frozen treat. Think I might have found my new favorite ice cream spot! We got the flight of 6 flavors with waffle cones. It is mini sized which was perfect to try out different flavors. They do not offer samples. But there are many different unique flavors made in house to choose from but we got the Vietnamese coffee, salted caramel praline, mocha Vietnamese coffee cheesecake, taro coconut, pineapple guava sorbet and hunneh yogurt. Their flavors do change on rotation and have specials as well. All the flavors were delicious and really is gourmet ice cream! Yay, a new ice cream business has taken over the old Bubbie's at Koko Marina! I was excited to try it. You'll find flavors here that you won't find anywhere else. Some of the flavors even have alcohol in it. I purchased a double scoop $7.75 plus a little more for the waffle cone. I forgot to ask how much, but the total plus tax was nine dollars and some change. I got the Vietnamese Coffee and Caramel & Waffle. Both flavors were terrific. They were bold, but not overly sweet. The waffle cone was crispy and I saw the owner making it in house. July 20th is National Ice Cream Day. They're offering $1.50 single scoops from 2-6pm and 75 cent flights all day. I love flights as you can sample more of the flavors. *I stopped by on 7/20 for National Ice Cream Day. They were packed. The line was all the way to Zippy's and we waited in line for 45 minutes. Get on board for a cool flight... Hammond's Gourment Ice Cream has arrived in Koko Marina Shopping Center and I was excited to see what flavors they have as the heat alone is something we needed help with. You can find them half way down the center and with lots of free parking there are no worries with how long this flight will last you though the shop isn't quite as cool (temperature) so I had to keep this session short. The ladies were so nice and polite as we arrived and tried to decided what to order only to see that they these super cute flights of either cake or waffle cones that were just super cute but never did they offer samples (not that I realized only later) as choosing six that I've never tried wasn't the easiest though I did and as we tried looking for a table it was fairly empty but still had some dirty tables. As I tried to take pics one after another of course my creation started to melt and became a bit of a mess and as I tried to get their attention for napkins as the dispenser was empty I was totally ignored as I obviously stood there was quite insulting and rude. Good things: *Koko Marina has free shared parking! *The interior is clean, bright, spacious, cute, and air-conditioned! *The variety of flavors is almost overwhelming! *The flights of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are great deals if you want to try different flavors without commitment. Areas of improvement: *Customers after us were offered samples. *Napkin dispenser was empty and our cones were dripping. Staff were busy at the time and weren't able to refill the napkins. *Tables weren't cleaned right away since staff were busy with orders. *Flavors were a bit odd. I had a Flight of 3 in waffle cones: Oatmilk Choco Cherry Oreo, Chocolate Strawberry Sorbetto, and Margarita Sorbetto. I appreciate that my 3 flavors were dairy-free! From San Diego to Hawaii, Hammond's has arrived! I'll do a more thorough updated review after I've tried most of their flavors but I just wanted to leave one for our experience during their grand opening this past Saturday 6/7/25. We arrived about half an hour early to anticipate a crowd. We wanted to be one of the first 25 customers to earn a free scoop! From the windows, there were balloons and a private party, presumably from friends and family of the staff. And as soon as noon hit, they welcomed the first few patrons patiently waiting. For our free single scoop, my wife had their snicker flavor and I-the orange creamsicle. In addition to the free scoop, we each received 3 raffle tickets. There were a few prizes we could enter which included: a $25 gift card to Boba's Crystal shop right next door, a $15 gift card to Moena Cafe, a painting from a local artist,--I'm forgetting a few--but their grand prize was free ice cream for a year (valued at $250). After entering the raffle, we sat at the front barstool counter looking out to the parking lot as we each enjoyed our ice cream. Smooth, sweet and hit the spot for a nice warm summer's day. The ice cream was tasty, smooth, and creamy. The waffle cone was hard and stale. I only took like 2 bites and winded up using a spoon to finish off my ice cream. My hubby ordered 2 scoops of the vegan pineapple guava sorbet. He really liked it. My mom had the affogato with vanilla ice cream. She said the espresso was really good, and also loved the ice cream! We received friendly service. I love the cute decor including the different types of ice cream scoops. They have games and books for kids too. The space is simple airy, and clean. I visited a Hammond's ice cream shop in San Diego once. But idk if this place is related.... It's located in Koko Marina shopping center, so it's a little out of the way for townies I think. But it's near Costco, so we decided to do a Costco + ice cream run. We happened to go on National Ice cream day and I love that they were offering a special. It was a really good deal to get $0.75 mini cones and $1.50 single scoops and we were able to try a whole lot of different flavors. However, it kind of ended up being just a way to pay for samples like you would get at places like salt and straw. Anyway. I also liked the variety of flavors although they were out of a few. I wish they would have changed the menu or let people know so I didn't feel as frazzled to choose once I was told what I wanted was out. Another kind of big nono for me was that they didn't change scoopers between cones. I get that it's busy and there's a long line so they want to get people in and out but my cousin who I was with is allergic to lychee. She was worried she would have a reaction since the first scoop I ordered in the flight was the lychee and the worker guy never changed his scooper. So I think there's a lot of cross contamination. Hopefully you aren't allergic! Other than that it was pretty good. I miss bubbies, but this is a nice replacement. Next time, we will make sure they use a new scooper for my cousin's ice cream and hope that the workers before haven't contaminated the container. read more

This ice cream place is located at the koko marina shopping in hawaii kai. Lots of parking and the service is friendly and patience. Because so much flavors to choose from and need to decide what you want. Their ice cream was very good creamy and tasty. Had their mini sample cones and my flavors were cookie and cream lemon bar and pineapple and coconut. The lemon bar wasn't tarty. Was just right in the flavor. The cookies and cream can't go wrong lots of cookies oreo bits. Just a little disappointed in the pineapple coconut it was just creamy not bits of coconut or pineapple in it but that ok.
