The place was clean, quiet and service was great. -place was not directly on the main street so it was relatively quiet. We didn't hear any traffic noise during our stay. -the room was spotless, bed was very comfortable, adequate supply of towels, toiletries. TV had cable. Air conditioning was cool after a day's hike. -breakfast was delicious. They served hot scrambled eggs, seasoned potato wedges, sliced sausages. They also had bagels with a selection of toppings, muffins, yogurt, sliced fruits, boiled eggs, assorted unpeeled fruits, waffle batter with ready to use hot griddles, oatmeal, cereals. They also have lots of dark roast, medium roast, decaf coffee, and selection of teas, juices. -service was good. Check-in was effortless, you either get your card key or you can use your phone via the app. Check-out was a breeze. The lady in charge of the dining area was very helpful. -they have a filtered water refilling station near the reception area (similar to the water bottle stations in the airports) so you can fill up before your hike. -lots of parking spaces -location is within walking distance to a Walmart so if you forgot something for your trip, you can buy it there. -location is also near gas stations and restaurants. read more

It does seem like the mattresses need to be turned, but otherwise, the rooms are clean and I feel safe knowing that you need a keycard to enter the main doors-including the lobby doors late at night. read more

I'm a Gold Elite member with IHG. This hotel is the worst IHG ever! Rude staff, broken elevator, rooms smell like dirty laundry. I have heart issues and no one even offered to help me to the 2nd floor with my luggage. I parked next to the side door and tried to use my room key to open and it wouldn't. When I walked to the front desk, I asked if everything was broken and couldn't come in through the side door. The woman rudely said it's for ext only. Why the hell is there a swipe for the room card. After a long drive for work, this made me miserable. IHG should be embarrassed to have this hotel part of their group. read more

This hotel is pretty subpar for the price. With tax, the total for my room on a Monday night was $188 and I'm a Honors Diamond member. There was no Acknowledgement for being a Hilton Honors member, first off, and no water bottles in the room. The room has not been dusted in quite some time, which caused me to sneeze constantly. Digital key did not work and beds were kind of messed up when I arrived. This is the only Hilton option in Alamosa, but even as a Diamond member, I would stay elsewhere next time I'm in town. read more

First off, I am a three-year Hilton Diamond level member and use Hilton properties almost exclusively. That said, this was the worst experience in a Hilton property I have ever had. We (two adults and our two children) arrived the evening of 6/5/2020 on a celebration trip for our anniversary. We were not told that the hot water was not functioning. We discovered that shortly after getting to the room after going for a run and using the gym. Cold showers for those who could endure one. Next, we turn the TV on for weather and sports and almost 3/4 of the channels report "please contact your provider for payment and subscription options." At this point I decided to go down and have a face-to-face with the manager. Unfortunately, the manager was not there, their place being filled with a person who deflected all questions about the TV service but acknowledged that the hot water had been out and that the plumber was replacing the pump and it would take an hour, maybe an hour and a half. Four hours later (10:45pm) there was still absolutely no hot water. I went back down and asked the same lady and a short, plump man who assured me that it would be fixed soon but that the hot water might take a while to build back up. Fair enough; we washed up in cold water and went to bed. 8:30am this morning I checked for hot water and there was still none available. I went back down and talked to their regular morning staff who informed me that there had never been a plumber on site last night and I must have misunderstood. What's amazing about that is that three other guests standing there heard the same thing I heard and stayed the night on that promise instead of demanding a refund and going elsewhere. Now they aren't eligible for the night's refund and were offered a credit to stay at this same hotel again which isn't useful as we are all traveling through. The fact that we were all lied to ruined any chance of salvaging this situation. Finally, the internet service is horrible and no one could even speak to why, let alone fix or mitigate it. There has been zero attempt at genuine customer service beyond offering to arrange for us to travel to a Comfort Inn nearby to shower if we wanted to. This was a disaster of a trip and, while I would STRONGLY urge anyone traveling through here to avoid this place with all possible efforts. I will reconsider my loyalty to the Hilton Honors loyalty program after this affair depending on what is done to remediate this situation. Bottom line: this place has obviously gone into the gutter from whatever it was previously so save yourself the money and frustration and stay anywhere else in Alamosa, you'll be glad you did. read more

This place is way overpriced for a simple Hampton Inn. Almost twice as much as other Hampton Inns. But the worst is the poor sleeping. My first visit to Alamosa and my normal Hyatt hotel choice hasn't quite made it to this town. A Hampton Inn will do, it's the newest hotel and right across from my office - bonus. This Hampton Inn is right off Main Street and a pretty centralized location. Check in and check out was a breeze. Refrigerator and microwave in every room, large bed, flat screen TV on a swivel to point to the bed or the couch, and a sizable bathroom. They also have one of the biggest binders giving you the low down on the hotel and town offerings such as: how to obtain Wi-Fi on any device, restaurants in the area, hotel amenities and popular attractions. I will be visiting Alamosa every month give or take and this will definitely be my hotel of choice in the area. read more

Spent the night on Saturday, the 3rd of March at the Hampton Inn. My husband & I were there to spent the weekend with my grand daughter who is a sophomore at Adams State University. We came to watch her softball team play against Mesa Colorado. Although her team lost both games we enjoyed spending time with her. Check out time at the hotel was 11:00 am but they were knocking on our door at 9:30 am wanting to clean our room. This seems to be a on going problem with this Hampton Hotel. The staff has improved but they should not be knocking on your door until after check out time. We always stay at Hampton Inn's in San Diego & wherever my husband travels to. He usually travels once a month. This is the only Hampton Inn hotel we keep having this problem with. read more

Nope. I can look past a lot of things- but customer service is not one. I become more critical of things when I don't feel valued as a customer. That being said: the beds are broken down, the keys had to be rekeyed ever day, toilet paper and tissue rough, slow internet and unfriendly front desk staff. It's not a resort. I'm not asking for 5 star service. Here is my experience: Called to reserve a room. Spoke to only what I can assume is one of the dumbest humans on planet earth. Asked me the same questions over and over. And over. ONE ADULT. I'm not a member of the rewards club!! Asked if they had a hot tub. They said yes. Made the reservation. Got to the hotel and they were sure I was at the wrong hotel and couldn't find my reservation. Also-the hot tub was out of order. That one is on me because I did not specifically ask the moron if the hot tub was working, only if they had one. Oh wait. There is my reservation. Also-the woman working the front desk was just straight up chilling with a friend in the lobby and it took her a few minutes to get to me. I assumed she was a guest. Room was fine. Standard. When I called I was told they had ONE room left. I knew this was probably not accurate and that was confirmed when front desk lady asked which floor I wanted to stay on. People next to me were LOUD. I've never complained to a front desk about loud people before but it was like they were in the room. Front desk told me they don't deal with that. I've stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites like 500 yards away and just couldn't remember which hotel I had stayed in before (I travel for work). STAY AT THE FAIRFIELD INN AND SUITES JUST FEET AWAY. I will NEVER return to this hotel when I could be in the FIAS with a functioning hot tub and staff with an entire functioning brain. Also the WiFi is atrocious! I connected my laptop but then my phone wouldn't connect. My phone worked better with the shitty Alamosa service than with the actual WiFi. It's gonna be a long night. read more

I want to start out by saying that this Hampton Inn was a very nice facility. That being said we had a few problems and I probably would have just chalked it up as a 1* reduction but I was a rubbed a bit wrong on this. There were two problems. 1). The Hampton Inn had a sticker "validating" that the room had been well cleaned. Cool, we were excited to see this. The problem was that well it didn't seem to really be. First I laid in the bed and when I got up I noticed a long hair hanging from my ear. No big deal, as a guy with not only a wife but a young daughter it must be just another one of their beautiful blonde hairs....except it was dark. Ok well I just chalked it up as nothing big...that is until my wife comes out of the shower telling me there is hair all over the floor and walls if the shower. Now was it like someone left their toupee hanging in the shower??? No of course not but it was a bit unsettling especially since we were so happy to see the sticker "validating" the cleanliness of the room. Then prior to leaving they had a lady handing out food upon request instead of a normal continental help yourself breakfast. Great idea I thought. That lessens the number of people accessing the food and lessens the chances someone will pass along any Covid to others. Well it would have been a good idea except for the lady handing out the food had her nose and mouth hanging out of the mask and she was talking and talking. That pretty well defeats the purpose. So I decide to share with the front desk my concerns and suggestions in simply a constructive way. Not looking for anything in return. I mention both situations. The young lady at the front proceeds to tell the manager on duty about the room situation who proceeds to tell me "well that's odd I checked that room myself", ie you are wrong. They offer me more points and a what i guess was an apology. I didn't really care about either, well an apology is nice but in full disclosure i am a diamond status and have more points than I can use so it's not about that. The young lady also proceeds to tell me they have told the lady handing out food twice and that she just keeps doing it. I'M SORRY COME AGAIN! The inmates are running this place? I mean come on kick her ass off the lineZ. There was another young lady helping the lady handing out food and she had her mask on the whole time and seemed very capable to ask what we want to grab that food. It just seemed very dismissive to me. Keep the points. Just acknowledge the issue, say I'm sorry for that, I'll do better next time, and let me kick that lady in the ass and wake her up to how to wear a mask properly! That was it. This is a typical recent-build Hampton Inn: microwave/fridge in every room, common breakfast area, over-chlorinated pool (okay, they HAVE to chlorinate that hard due to all the little kids bopping in and out, I get it, but yeh. I'm not a fan of indoor hotel pools.) I'm a Diamond in Hilton, so I'm very familiar with their brands - they changed one small yet very important (to me) detail from other recent-build Hamptons: they installed towel hooks by the shower. You have no IDEA how important that is. The lack of shower hooks means you have to either risk soaking your towel by hanging it over the curtain rail, or you put it on the floor, or you trail, cold and wet and nekkedly exposed, over to the toilet where the towels are stored. All unattractive options. The simple addition of a hook or two means a LOT. Otherwise, the hotel is a perfectly acceptable, run-o-the-mill place. Comfy. read more

They knocked on door 2 times after we told them no housekeeping, keeping us awake. You received a call from them, asking how long we were staying when I already submitted the information. We left two computers there one being 1500 and one being 600 dollars, we didn't notice until we got home, they didn't call us to tell us we had left them, and then we went back and they had told us they were in a locked room and couldn't get them until the next day. read more

An all around nice 1-night stay. The check-in guy was very nice and helpful. We asked for dinner recommendations and he was happy to give the hotel prepared list, with his choice of which he recommended best. The Hampton has coffee available all day, as well as complimentary water bottles, fruit, and cookies. It was nice to have the complimentary breakfast available the next morning. A few cereal types, a few baked goods, yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage, and french toast sticks. It was a nice selection. Knowing we had an athletic day ahead of us, I was happy to gorge on some eggs and sausage and start my day with actual protein. Everything seemed clean and ready when we arrived. Although the beds were very soft, neither of us slept well. Can't put a finger on why. Overall If I was coming through the area again, I would not hesitate to stay here. read more

Beware Beware Beware!!!! I stayed at the Alamosa Hampton Inn. I always stay at the Hampton Inn because it is usually the cleanest hotel. I got there at 12 am and there was 2 rooms available, The price was close to 300.00 which is a price gouge for the holiday weekend. The night clerk was able to get my price down to 266.00 because I was able to get my membership number. I am also an senior and should have recieved a discount for being over 55 and my husband 65. Anyway, when I looked at my bank statement, there was two charges, one for 304.30 and a 250.00 dollar charge totalling 554.30. for 1 night stay. I thought in all honesty that they just made a mistake. When I called the hotel, I was told they charged me a pet fee, for pets I did not bring with me. They charged me 250.00 for the pets because the room smelled like pets, well if the room did smell I am glad that I lost my smell to covid and I didnt smell anything. This was an unauthorized charge and on top of that I wasn't charged the price I was told at check in or check out. I also have still not recieved a reciept for my stay. I believe unauthorized charges are illegal. B read more

When we first showed up at 1:30pm and tried to get an early check in, there were no clean rooms yet available. We were out front trying to decide what to do next when Matthew, the front desk attendant, came out to let us know they had just finished cleaning a room and that he could get us checked in. This was the start to our wonderful stay! The king room layout is excellent, especially for our family with our pack and play that needed room for set up. The rooms were clean and modern The FREE breakfast had a good selection that seemed to change daily. The food wasn't always great but the selection was good. We loved the coffee choices set out 24/7 for the guests and the mustache cups with dress up sleeves are always fun! Only complaint was that there were no fresh cookies baked on Sundays. Why not bake cookies on Sunday? Is there a rule against delicious cookies for guests on Sundays? We would definitely stay here again. read more

After looking at all the options in Alamosa we chose to stay here.Overall is was fine, pretty typical Hampton Inn. I was surprised to have "Maintenance" knock and immediately open our door early in the morning, as we had not reported any 'maintenance' issues, and while they did apologize it was odd they said they didn't know the room was rented. Good place but slow internet This is a good Hampton Inn just outside of downtown Alamosa. We stayed here for a couple of nights to visit the Great Sand Dunes national park. The location is decent, a short drive to restaurants downtown. The place looks reasonably new. The breakfast was good. Only complaint is slow internet to almost unusable. Front desk said it's slow because of wind the day before but the day we were there, the wind was calm. He rebooted the server and it got a bit better but still not very good. read more

New hotel in Alamosa at a reasonable price. It's across the street from the movie theater. I have stayed at this hotel 5 times in the last year. It is the newest hotel in the area and they work hard to stand up to the Hilton name. The rooms is always fresh and clean. The breakfast is fresh and included in your room price. They offer free business services, free WiFi, workout facility and coffee. It is one of the nicer hotels in the Valley. When you are in or near Alamosa, give them a try. read more

Was in town for the car show September 1 and second. We always want to stay in a suite because of a need a place to rest during the activities. This was the first time I've ever stayed at the Hampton Inn I was very disappointed are usually stay at comfort suites or at Holiday Inn while I'm in Alamosa.This will be the last time I stay because the staff was very unfriendly. The room was nice and large however there was a lot of things wrong with it for starters the bathroom toilet would not flush when I called up maintenance changed out the handle and chain and it still would not flush. my husband ended fixing the chain so the toilet with flash . when we went down to tell the person that we no longer needed maintenance he basically called us stupid that there was nothing wrong with the toilet in the first place! I do expect more when I'm spending $230 a night to stay in a hotel. customer service is a very big thing. read more

The room was average for a Hampton Inn. I'm a Hilton Honors Diamond member, thus I'm to receive free premium internet. When I checked out, there was a charge for the internet. The clerk didn't have authority to adjust the charge. This was a Sunday morning... probably the busiest check out day of the week. I left my contact information for the manager who was to be there in a couple of hours. It's now Tuesday morning and no response. I called and another clerk said the manager would be in sometime today. I called Hilton and not only did the internet charge still show, the hotel added a "music" charge for services I did not use nor was it on my receipt. I'm giving such a low rating due to the lack of customer service by the manager. She should also consider giving her subordinates the authority to make minor corrections when a guest checks out. Trust goes a long ways with me and I will never stay at this property again. read more

Called to confirm and was told the sleeper option was more, I already paid and couldn't get money back without waiting days for the money to get back to my account from expedia and was told there was nothing they could do. So I called expedia since they are mostly responsible for the listing in their site and was basically told the same answer "sorry". Thin walls here! Although the bed is comfortable I was kept awake by noisy neighbors and an AC unit running all night. The breakfast was good, but then again I ate it when it was hot and fresh. (eggs, potatoes, cereals, pastries, yogurt, etc.) The carpets and bathroom floor seemed a bit gritty and dirty. The location is okay - not very close to downtown where some of the better restaurants are, but it is close to your typical chain restaurants (Chili's, McDonalds, etc.) and close to Walmart. Added another 10 minutes onto our drive to Great Sand Dunes since it is on the west side of town. I wasn't pleased with their front desk either. Had to make a trip back down to get card keys to work as she hadn't swiped them through the machine. Duh. Also, when I left my phone recharger there, they didn't bother to call or email me. I called 3 days later and they are sending it through Fed ex ($15!) When my son lost his phone at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, they sent it back FREE through US mail. No cost to me. read more
