We weren't notified the elevator wasn't working when we booked. The key cards to your door would sometimes work and sometimes you had to stand outside your door for 5 minutes trying to get in. Nice clean hotel in Forest City, NC. Rooms are modern and clean, staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel. One suggesting to owner- empty the trash bins in front of hotel more often. If you are getting married and looking for a place to book a hotel block, I would NOT recommend looking here. My fiancé and I are getting married in October. We first went in person on October 12th, 2024. We gave the front desk lady our hotel block information, which she wrote down on a form, and said she would put it on the manager's door. Weeks go by and we hadn't heard a peep. I called the front desk again on November 12th, 2024 asking why I haven't heard anything from the manager, to which she said that she would be in that night for the overnight shift and to call again after 11 p.m. I got on the phone with her, and she gave me her email and told me to write down all the information in an email. I never got a response to this email. I sent a follow-up email on December 18th, 2024, which I also never got a response from. My fiancé and I went in person AGAIN on January 4th of this year, expressing frustration that we haven't been able to successfully book the hotel block, much less hear from the manager again. She [front desk person] again took down our information, same as before. I also made sure that the email the manager gave me was correct, which she verified. I sent another follow-up email that same night, again, to no surprise, with no response. My fiancé and I combined have called this hotel at least 25 times between the two of us and have still made no progress. It took us calling corporate for us to have any update on where we were in the process. The second time ever throughout this entire process that we heard from the manager was to tell us that the hotel could not accept blocks for the month of October because that month is already selling out. This is precisely why we started this hotel block process over a year before our wedding - to avoid this if we could help it. We are not so much upset by the end result, but far more so in the lack of professionalism and communication in not knowing what was going on the entire past few months since we began this process. This is outrageous, completely unprofessional, and downright absurd the run-around we have gotten to still be in the same place we started - with no hotel block. Any engaged couples should steer clear of this hotel because the communication is horrendous. read more

This is a fairly new Hampton Inn and it definitely looks the part of a newer hotel. Check in went pretty smooth but as I was heading towards the elevators I was told both were out of order. Not good for a new hotel. I don't mind humping some stairs but since I am here for the week, I had a lot to carry. Rooms are in good shape but the walls are thin and you can hear everything in adjacent rooms. While the place is clean, you can see where it won't be that way for long. They are not maintaining the common areas and this will help the hotels get a worn look fast. The staff are at least pleasant. read more

We spent 2 nights in this hotel and I don't know if it was just the room we had or if the rooms were all as great as ours. One of the very best rooms we have ever had at a hotel! The whole hotel smelled fresh and new. It was spotless. Our room (on the first floor) was very spacious with a very high ceiling. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a HUGE walk-in shower. And I know it's a silly, little thing but the bathroom had a built-in night light! Loved that. We love this hotel and stay here often. The prices keeping going up though, which is our only complaint. Caria (spelling) I'd just awesome. She makes our stay pleasant. She recognized us after our first stay. The rooms are clean and quiet especially compared to the Holiday inn express across the street. 4 stars because for a Hampton Inn, it's getting too expensive. I had a very restful sleep after a long drive at this new Hampton Inn location. I loved the sleek room design and that the space has a unique storage space, mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom is bright and the walk in shower had an adjustable shower head. A very nice touch was the disposable makeup remover wipe and black wash cloth to take off makeup. Sometimes l do use black liner and mascara so the black towal was very helpful with not making me feel like l ruened a pristine white towal. I especially enjoyed the smoked sausage and Denver Omelets at breakfast. read more

What a wonderful place to stay. We were attending a high school graduation in Lake Lure. This hotel was just a 20-30 min beautiful drive. Michelle at the hotel gave us the scenic route. The complimentary breakfast was fresh & the staff made sure all items were stocked. We definitely will be staying here again. read more

I made a reservation in mid-June for a mid-September stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Forest City, North Carolina to attend the World Equestrian Games. My reservation was made through Expedia, paid for, indicated my stay was confirmed and I did not need to call to reconfirm. On September 12, after driving 11.5 hours (over 550miles), I arrived at 3:30pm and was told by the front desk associate that they did not have a room for me due to water damage to "my" room and there was no other availability. I was shocked and frustrated because of driving all day assuming I had accommodations. When I asked what I should do, I was told that I could check with other hotels in the area for a room. Seriously? With an international event being held locally (the expectation was approximately 500,000 people would attend) we all know that all hotel rooms in that vicinity on the date of my arrival were booked solid. I requested to see the manager who also indicated the room reserved for me was damaged and that since they wouldn't be able to help me, I would need to call Expedia. I asked if I could at least see the room damage and at that point I was asked by the manager to leave the premises... twice. Since the entire interaction had been pleasant and professional, I respected their request and went to my car to call Expedia. Expedia informed me that since they had a confirmation number, I was guaranteed a room. The Expedia representative called the manager, Richard Liebeck, on my behalf and was also told there was no room available. Expedia indicated the manager was rude to them as well. Frankly, I am extremely disappointed that any hotel would permit a single female to travel such a long distance knowing there was no room available, make no effort to notify me prior to my travel date, and not be of any assistance in finding me alternative accommodations in an area they were familiar. Unfortunately they have lost a customer. I cannot use a business that has no regard for my personal safety. read more
