Very personable and friendly folks. When we checked in they had a small cheese & cracker snack table set up. While breakfasts are included there are times when someone may be "on the go" and they had small take along bags with items such as a bagel w cream cheese, or a biscuit sandwich ready to grab at the front desk. Response to the Management...your pool was not open when we visited in June. You claim the pool hasn't been closed "in months", obviously you do not know about your hotel. I am being truthful, you claim I'm not accurate??? Maybe you should be more aware of your pool maintenance and customer service at the front desk . The Sign on the pool door, said pool was closed, we questioned it at the front desk. We were treated unfairly and that is not right, especially when a customer is paying $200.00++ for a room for less than 20 hours. Shame on the Hampton Inn, Greenfield..., shame on their customers service and management for thinking this is ok. It was a total waste of money,. We were looking forward to the pool. Don't tell a customer they are not accurate, when you where not even there. We asked to speak to management, obviously there was none around or we would have gotten a reasonable explanation, instead of eye rolls. Keep cut n pasting your replys to the negative reviews. The heating system.while it's attempting to reach your desired temperature it blasts cold air thru the heating unit.it feels as though you are in a wind tunnel. The rooms were clean though the contour sheet kept slipping off the mattress. read more

I was recently in town with my wife and we stayed here one night. If you're looking for a hotel close to the expressway and a place to sleep then this is an okay option but not a ton of amenities. During my stay the hotel seemed to be under renovation in some parts. There is a small area to purchase snacks but very limited selection and no beer/wine which I've usually seen at other Hampton Inn locations. This is the worst Hampton Inn i have ever stayed at and i have stayed at many all over the country. The website says the pool is under construction /renovations but the HOTEL is under construction! the 2nd floor, the laundry room, the parking lot . They started drilling on Sunday morning before 8am!!!! They had a party Saturday night in one of the rooms with head banging music that went on until at 2:30 am so not a lot of sleep at this hotel. Calling down to the front desk was not a help. I went to the front desk in the morning at 9:!5 because we were checking out, there was no way to get sleep and had the unpleasant opportunity to speak to hector, the front desk employee... He said mnagement staff does not work on the weekends and offered me some complimentary snacks! He stated what do i want the website says we are renevating and i chose to stay there, i advised the website stated the pool closed for renovations and asked him to show me where on the site it said that. he stated he had NEVER ben on their site but he is sure his manager would have put it there. never asking my name or room number he said he reffered it to his manager on the computer so i sked how she would reach me and he stated the number on my reservation... I asked for a recieptf for check out because i knew he ahd no info on me nd didnt care... he hen was forced to ask for my room number and name.. 3 othr people came down within the 1/2 hour for early check outs due to noise of renovations! This is a nice hotel. Some of the pictures on the site didn't match the room. The rooms are more modern. The decor in the pics look a bit older. This location is conveniently located near a highway. I had a great three night stay here over 4th of July weekend! The location is very convenient..right off I-91. I even walked to downtown Greenfield from the hotel and it was a nice 20 minute stroll. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. There was always coffee downstairs and every night when I came in there were cookies available! The breakfast was good every morning, although they only had biscuits on one day. But I love the waffles and the coffee was delicious. The oatmeal was great too, with lots of nice toppings such as walnuts and dried berries. Used this as base camp to visit Charlemont, Shelburne Falls, Turner Falls and Greenfield and it was the perfect spot. read more

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Greenfield for four nights while visiting relatives in the area. It's conveniently located right off of Interstate 91 (I-91). It's the nicest hotel in the area. I had a nice room on the 4th floor. The room had a small wet bar area complete with a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The room had a flat panel HD TV, couch, coffee table, and a work desk with several electrical outlets. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room was clean when I arrived and the cleaning staff kept it that way each day. The AC worked well in the room. I like it to be cool when I sleep, and I was comfortable every night. They offer breakfast downstairs each morning, but I did not partake as I am on a low carb diet and most of what they offer is carbs, carbs, carbs. The lobby area had plenty of tables and seating, along with one HD TV. I spent part of each day utilizing this area to sit and work on my MacBook Pro. There is a small pantry area adjacent to the front deck where you can get bottled water, sodas, juices, snacks, and limited toiletries. The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. I stayed here for 5 nights for business and regretted it. I travel for work and stay in hotels 5 nights a week. With almost 60 nights in hotels since November 2018, I've stayed at many hotels, good and bad. This location is the worst experience in terms of customer service I've had thus far. I checked in online via the Hilton iPhone app. When I got to the hotel to check in after a 2hr drive on a Sunday night, a miserable young man named Austin who was working made it clear that that online check-in annoys him immensely because it was more work to look up the guest. I asked for a room key and he asked why I wanted one if I signed up for a digital key. Geez, maybe because phones die Einstein!! Never has any hotel made me feel bad for using their online checkin until now. Their housekeeping staff, Angie and the maintenance guy is superb. I had a problem with my shower and they fixed it right away. Additionally, the woman that runs the breakfast Buffett was very nice and greeted me every morning. So was the blonde woman that checked me out on Friday. This is why it's not 0 stars. The accommodations are dated and nothing special. Never got the Hilton Honors Gold benefits they promised. Not even a bottle of wattle. It's a joke. I'll stay at a Marriott from now. The Marriott Bonvoy program allows you to check-in, request extra towels and toiletries, put in a room number preference if you're a regular, gives you extra points if you skip room service up to 3 days max, all via the iPhone app. And they don't give you an attitude when you use the app. The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Northampton is a way better option in the same price point that is not too far away if you're flexible with location. Brand new construction, awesome breakfast Buffett, right off highway. I'll be staying there from now on when I'm working in the area even if I have to drive to work in Greenfield/Deerfield. My wife is a Hilton honors member. We are used to the high standards that are associated with this. That said, this was an underwhelming experience. The room was clean but was infused with a cheap smelling cleaning fluid. Disgusting. Then there was the lackluster response from the front desk clerk when we asked for extra pillows. BEWARE! Some sort of scam is going on here. Wyndham is taking state funds but still taking private reservation money on top. We booked 4 rooms months prior to a family wedding in the area and when we arrived we learned through locals and published articles that this hotel was turned into an emergency shelter for immigrants (https://www.recorder.com/Immigrants-refugees-find-emergency-shelter-in-Greenfield-through-state-funded-program-51211809) This was done several months before our arrival date yet there was no communication to us about our upcoming stay. Our reservations were cancelled that day since there were no rooms available for us us and were immediately charged over $800 for the rooms within minutes. How can they charge for rooms they cannot rent out because they are taking state funding for these rooms? I spent a week making calls to ensure the charges were refunded and filed a complaint with Wyndham customer care and was told someone would reach out to me in 7 days. I received an email saying we were refunded and case closed. I asked to communicate with someone in customer care and was ignored. Complete lack of customer service and disregard for any inconvenience. Seems like they are trying to double dip and don't want to talk about it. read more

We went to Turners Falls for a concert, and since there were no hotels there, we booked this. We've had excellent experiences at Hampton Inns for years, so we expected the same. The plus side: Comfortable bed, clean sheets, good cover, heat and AC worked. The down side: Where do I begin? The floor had bits of wrappers on it, looked like shreds from candy bars. The vertical grab bar for the tub was coming out of the wall, quite dangerous if you'd needed it to help you with balance, or getting in and out. The tub drained so slowly that within 3 minutes of starting a shower I was calf-deep in soapy water. The sink didn't drain. The toilet flushed itself. But worst of all, the AC/heat had a slightly musty smell, so we pulled off the cover thinking to at least remove the filter if it wasn't fresh. That would have been fine, but this air filter - and the inside of the machine - had never been cleaned or changed. A cursory run with a vacuum hose would have made all the difference in the world. Let me go on to breakfast. I went to the front desk at 7.30 and said "You need to write up a trouble report for room X." The man there said hm, he'd never written one before, couldn't find any report forms, but began to jot it down on a piece of paper. He didn't quite believe me when I told him about the grab bar. By the time I got to the disgustingly filthy filter and surrounds, he'd lost interest. Breakfast was... awful. Tragic. The "Applewood Smoked Bacon" was your basic microwave bacon, supermarket generic brand. The potatoes, such as they were, cold. I asked the woman working the breakfast if there was any ice and she said "You got a glass?" No, I said, but I'll get one. I walked out of the breakfast area to the coffee bar and returned with two cups, at which point I got my ice. We were all Hilton gold or platinum. Everyone complained about their rooms - the dirty carpets for starts. No apologies, no offer of points, nothing. Do not stay here. read more

This place is a dump and I feel ripped off of $250! Rooms smell of must, tv remote didn't work, and the lobby and pool the size of a postage stamp. I went down to the lobby at 6:00A to grab a lukewarm coffee and when I returned to my room my key didn't work. So I went back down to the lobby to find no one available to assist me and no buzzer to ring for assistance. Finally hearing loud music coming from the kitchen of the breakfast nook I knocked and no response. I finally said "hello" and a very unhappy man appeared. I told him I was locked out of my room due to my key not working. His response was "sorry I can't help you I'm making breakfast you'll have to wait." I then let him know I was in a rush due to an early dance competition and asked who could help. He then went on to say he first needed to get the breakfast done or he'd be "bitched at". Flustered he finally decided to help me - and continued to talk about how he needed to get the breakfast done and no one told him there was an early group needing breakfast (however, breakfast posted to begin at 6). Another women came down and asked to check out. He told her he couldn't do it because of needing to prepare breakfast. She then asked well when then. He told her when I'm finished. Not very professional to have the front desk person also in charge of putting together breakfast at a $250 a night hotel that should really be $100 or less because it truly is a dump. I stayed here one night for a business trip. The front desk staff are very friendly and kind. Upon checking in, you spin a wheel to win a prize (a smile or something from the snack bar). It was a cute gesture. I won a bottle of water. My room was what I expected from a Hampton Inn. No frills, but comfortable and modern. My AC worked great. The free wifi worked excellent and my bathroom was spacious & clean. The free continental breakfast is average. I'd stay away from the eggs because they taste fake. They offer toast, english muffins, assorted pastries, a self-serve waffle station, fruit, oatmeal, and toppings. I just wish they offered bottle water during breakfast. There is ample parking and the area feels safe. There is a 99 restaurant in the front of the parking lot and a Chili's & Dunkin Donuts on the other side of the rotary. I liked the cookies that they served upon arrival, and the breakfast that has a selection of dishes, such as oatmeal, eggs, toast, and muffins. New, clean, knowledgable staff, beautiful rooms, well appointed bathroom! I am used to hotels in this price range and this one is top end in terms of comfort and a welcoming warm experience. The lighting is soft and upon entering the room which I had reserved, I opened the door to find the warm glow of the desk light they turn on for expected guests; a very nice touch. And breakfast is served from 6 to 10 AM!! So glad I chose this comfy warm place to stay the night. I was using this hotel while I was in a 2-day seminar. What I was looking for was: Quiet - you can hear slight mumbling in the adjoining rooms, but they're quiet enough to ignore. Also quiet to traffic. Comfortable bed. - I slept like a log and woke up to no aches or pains. Wonderful! Clean- yes, clean, clean, clean Nice shower - I loved the shower! Water gets hotter if you push it past the red mark and the pressure never varied and felt great! Breakfast - cooked on the spot with food that I can eat. Parking next to elevator - easy parking near the pool and the elevator Conveniences - empty refrigerator to store food (no charge), TV, Microwave, coffee pot to brew your own if you don't want to venture down to the lobby (great when you're studying), a comfortable couch, desk with room to work with a comfortable swivel chair, lots of plugs for devices, and table lamps that move. If there was a problem? 1)It's that there are no coat racks! That is so bizarre. There's a hook behind the bathroom door. That's it. Very odd. 2) I couldn't get a secured internet. The front desk gave me several options that didn't work. This concerned them too! They told me they'd look into it and I believe they will. 3) it was expensive compared to the other hotels. But I'm very particular and I felt it was worth the price. I'll be going back in May for another seminar and will stay with them again. read more

What do you want from a hotel? This one is clean and comfortable. One nice touch was the antibacterial wipe left conveniently on top of the TV remote. Front desk folks were quick, helpful and friendly - cookies for the kids, coffee for the adults. Wonderful towels and even the teens commented on how nice the toiletries were. This is the only high end hotel in Greenfield. Free breakfast and snacks are provided in the lobby. This is a very clean location with frendly staff. There is a 99 right next door. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, some of them real fancy, but usually I'm a Days Inn, Holiday Inn, Econo Lodge kind of guy. I can always find things that turn me off, even in the "swanky" hotels. This is the fist time in my life when I stayed in hotel and everything was perfect. The building looks brand new, maybe that's an unfair advantage, but it feels good being in a brand new place. The front desk staff were very welcoming and friendly, she told us they had just baked some cookies and they were sitting in the lounge area, next to some fresh coffee, which is available there 24-7 by the way.... Every inch of the building was clean and new looking; no weird smells, no stains, no cracks, nothing peeling anywhere. I loved the room. It was not much bigger than average, but the way it was set up made it seem bigger and easier to move around in. Five of us stay in one room, and we didn't feel crowded. Nice big flat screen tv with all the channels, a fold out couch that was actually comfortable to sleep in. The bathroom was very small, with the sink outside the bathroom door, which seemed weird but worked out great because the kids could brush teeth or do whatever while someone else was showering or using the toilet. The free breakfast buffet well stocked and fresh, better than expected, there was a staff member making hot breakfast sandwiches, or you could serve yourself cold breakfast or make yourself a waffle. I feel bad not giving the fifth star, it really is a great place and I won't hesitate to go back, but..... early in the morning we were walking out to our car, and the hotel indoor pool is clearly visible from the full length windows that face the parking lot. Anybody walking by could see that the pool had several beer cans and towels floating in it, beer cans littering the pool deck area, obviously there was a rowdy party in there the night before. I mentioned this to the front desk person as we were checking out, and he shook his head sadly and explained that this was the kind of thing that happened when wedding parties booked rooms. He said the cleaning staff was not due in for another hour, and that they would take care of it then. Maybe there's more to the story, but I held back the fifth star because they left the pool looking like that. I could have picked up those beer cans in three minutes, and it would have looked a hell of a lot better. Waiting for the cleaning crew's days shift to start was a bad move. read more

I arrived at The Hampton Inn on December 21 for a one night stay. I was greeted by the ever so friendly Whitney who felt like an instant friend. After checking in, I enjoyed snacks in the lobby before heading to my room. Unfortunately a short time later, my TV decided to malfunction. I called downstairs and, via Whitney, maintenance tried to remedy the problem to no avail. Shortly afterward, she appeared at my door apologizing profusely with key cards to my new room. She even offered to help me carry my items. Everything in my new room was fine including the TV. I enjoyed the comfortable king bed and the whirlpool tub. Whitney called and checked to ensure everything was fine and told me to call if there was anything at all I needed as she was on 'til 11:00. The next morning I enjoyed a nice breakfast which I brought back to my room and ate while watching the snow fall. I look forward to staying at The Hampton Inn again, and i can't say enough about Whitney's helpfulness and professionalism. She is surely management material. read more

We had previously stayed in the Mohawk cabins to visit the Shelburne Falls area, but this time we wanted to visit without camping. We spent a few weeks looking at Bed and Breakfasts in the area, and while many looked great, they have a rustic set back in time feel we were just not into. We found that Hampton Inn on the map, and the pictures looked great. We know it is a chain hotel, but this was awesome. Very welcoming staff, and clean everywhere we went. We stayed in the King room with a whirpool, and it was awesome! Watched Game of Thrones while sitting in the tub with the jets on, great! It is located right by downtown area, so you have several modern shops and restaurants nearby, and then it is a short drive to the Shelburne Falls area to see all the local attractions. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, great variety of foods, both hot and cold. We will be making this an annual stay. read more

I would give ZERO STARS if I could!! I am horrified at the experience from booking to checkout we had December 2, 2017 - December 4, 2017! We stayed 1 night in your Greenfield, Massachusetts facility. We could not get the room booked online and had to call the reservation line to complete. The reservation line quoted me $50 more than the online (Hilton website) stated rate! I pointed this out and was placed in silence until agent came back and said I was correct and that the $179.99 with all fees was INDEEd the CORRECT price for the room that night. Agreeing I gave my credit information and that hassle was over. My Hilton honors card was never applied during my reservation either! Arrived for our stay to celebrate our recent engagement and do our research for where to house our guests that will be coming in for our upcoming wedding. The check in agent "Miss Monique" was who checked us in and asked why we were staying the night. We explained we we recently engaged and she commented how nice my ring was and continued checking me in. I immediately noticed that my information during reservation was not entered correct and Hilton reward number not even added to my account. (When I called in to make reservation I called hotel directly and am quite sure "Miss Monique" was the agent who booked our reservation. My name was wrong but email was right.... my email for that reservation WAS my name with @ gmail .com added! I even told her during the phone reservation as I had to spell it out letter for letter. How was that little attention to detail overlooked, while customer service is supposed to be part of the Hilton brand? I would think if you can send a reservation confirmation, you would be able to enter the guest's name correct? Well it got WAY WAY worse as we were checking in the other agent was checking in another younger couple who were being very shady and bickering about their reservation details with the man behind the desk. It was to the point both agents looked at us and apologized for the chaos. So once we confirmed that we were getting our honors rate, and double points for the stay as your company website stated and was reviewed during booking, we were given our room keys and finally we were able to get to our room, freshen up for our diner reservations. As we exited our room the guy who was causing the disruption was walking down towards our door with the female he was with and trying his key in several room doors!! My fiance asked him what room he they were looking for and they said they had 2 rooms, 1 one the 2nd floor and one on the 4th (we were on the 4th). The guy was sketchy and made us feel so very unsafe and unsafe leaving our belongings in the room! (They abruptly turned around as they realized we were the only other room in front of them. Got in the elevator and kept riding the elevators. We were really nervous leaving for our safety and the safety of our belongings in the room. They refused to let us ride to the lobby with them. We waited for the other elevator and walked out the lobby to our car, making sure there was someone on staff aware of the shadiness. As we were coming back from our diner, we were having a smoke in the parking lot when all of a sudden there is yelling and chaos from the picnic table area of the property!! My fiance tells me to get back in the car and lock the doors. As we got in we cracked the windows and could hear the female yelling "breath breath" as the male was keeling over grabbing his chest and vomiting all over the picnic area, sidewalk, and grass! The female started to press on the guys chest after he fell over and could not get up. At this point I told my fiance I was really concerned, as it was the same couple upon check in and the same couple who was wondering the halls by our room, checking the doors with their key. I went and alerted the man on -shift behind the desk. At this time the agent begins to tell me that they have been disruptive the whole night, they "were on heroin" and he then called the paramedics and police as he was telling me this. Another female guest was entering the lobby to tell the agent about the couple "at the picnic table" having some type of medical emergency and acting very drugged while vomiting uncontrollably all over the guest entrance, picnic area and sidewalk". The ambulance and police arrived. Police were back 2 hrs later to remove them both!! My card was to be charged $229.93! The agreed price was $179.99, and our check out papers said $199.99! Three different prices for 1 hell night of a stay!??! She said that we were not given points for our stay and that we were not given the hilton honors member price as reflected on Hilton's website! She was as confused as we were! GO ELSEWHERE!! read more

I've stayed at this hotel a few times. Overall, it's clean & the staff is pleasant. However, I really have no interest in staying here - or at any Hampton Inn - again. My disgust in this case is more about the chain itself. I am trying to find a day with nice weather to place my Father's remains, in accordance with his wishes. Because of this, I made a reservation & have had to change it a couple times now, due to weather. I spoke with one of the chain's booking agents on the phone today and she informed me that they aren't 'allowing' 1-night stays for certain dates becasue 'it appears something big is going on in the area'. I'm sorry if my laying my Father to rest isn't 'big' in their eyes and they don't want my business for a single night. I'll keep that info. on-file for future reference, for sure. I managed to find a date with decent weather and called to change my reservation date. The woman I spoke to at the hotel was huffy about my request and noted "well, I see that you've changed your reservation once already - I don't mind changing it for you again, but if you end up cancelling, we'll charge you for the ENTIRE rate of your original booking date" -- which is almost two times what I will be paying for the new date I chose. When I balked at this news and told her I was never informed of this she told me "well, you booked on a no-cancellation weekend, so that's company policy." I responded "so, since I was never told, that's too bad for me?" she responded with "that's company policy." I guess I didn't need to know until after they got my credit card info. Had I known that it was a rare no-cancellation date I would not have booked the original date I chose, knowing that I may have to change it due to weather (like all travelers, I've cancelled/changed travel dates before), but with Hampton Inns it's never been an issue. I am so disgusted. Another corporate America company taking a swipe at the consumer just because they can. It would have been nice it I had all the info. I needed to make my own decision. read more

Clean, spacious, and updated room with great amenities, very comfortable bed and some of the better hotel pillows. There's also a free continental breakfast open to everyone, with hot and cold items, including a waffle iron! From the time that I checked in until the time that checked out the staff at this location was incredible. This Hampton was extremely clean and nothing appeared to be in need of repairs. I accidentally was checked out but the front desk immediately rectified the situation and performed incredible service recovery. Everyone always have a smile on your face and greeted me professionally even if I was just coming down from my room to purchase a soda. I will keep this on my list of favorite Hampton Inns. Service definitely justifies a letter to the corporate office and praising the courteousness and outstanding behavior of the staff. A lot of people may say that it could not have been 100% perfect so I will just say 99%. The only other thing that I would have changed would have been to add water and lemonade to the 5 o'clock snack set up in the dining room. Great staff - but ....the property is dated and needs some serious upkeep.

I unfortunately needed to cancel my stay here the morning of my arrival. I was first told by the Hilton Honors Diamond desk I would be charged for the 1st day. They connected me to the GM Carla Chaffee who then curtly implied it was probably to late to cancel the second night as well so now I am thinking I am looking at paying for 2 nights at hotel I do not need. Then she says they will charge me $100 for the cancellation like that had been the discussion all along. I was thoroughly confused and frustrated. I agreed to the $100 charge. Hope that is all I am charged. At this point I wasn't sure if it was $100 total, or $100 nightly, or $100 on top of the room charge. Hilton then informs me I do not earn any points for the $100 I get charged. Everything else in the area is sold out so I am sure they will book the room. Makes you wonder why this property had rooms while others did not though. My customer gets charged for the unused room since they cancelled the job last minute but I still hate billing them for it because they are still my customer. It's a catch 22 with hotels. If you do not book in advance you find yourself without a room or traveling a great distance to find one, but when things change you usually have to cancel within 72 hours. I always buy fully refundable airline tickets because of these possibilities, I wished hotels had this option. read more
