I really don't know why I didn't stay here last year, when I was in this exact same area for the exat same trip. With taxes and fees included, each member of my party wound up paying roughly $220 per night. And when we made the booking, the price here was basically on par with the other hotel I was at previously, which is almost in the exact same location, but the Herndon-Reston Hampton Inn is orders of magnitude better, and I think I have found my go-to spot whenever work sends me back to this neck of the woods. There is nothing niche, or overtly different at this place you won't find in other sorts of hotels. It is very run of the mill in terms of what types of rooms you find, and I found the accomodations to be in fantastic shape, very clean and tidy, so definitely have to tip my hat to the hard working cleaning staff. The beds are comfy, and whatever water heater system they have here is outstanding, since it was basically instant even on upper floors. Plus the internet strength here is pretty good. And I generally really like their decor and aesthetics in this building. The ammenities, too, are ones you see across the board, but they just seem to be much more accessible and well organized. There is a gym and indoor pool, open well into the evening. The guest laundry room is incredibly useful for those of us staying beyond just a couple nights. There is a conference room available, and business center to cater to any printing or computer needs. And the in-house, self-checkout store has pretty much everything you need; snacks, drinks, grown-up-beverages, toiletries, laundry soap, first aid, etc. And in the morning, the complimentary breakfast is a very nice way to start the day. The couple things I found which really sets this place above others I've visited are the customer service and the location. The folks at the front counter were friendly and helpful in the extreme, especially Aidan, who was manning the desk in the evening. The area this hotel is located in I also count as a plus. While certainly not a scenic part of town, you have access to a very nice walking trail just outside the property. And there is also a complex of buildings across the street, a 5-10 minute walk, filled with fantastic little restaurants and an outstanding brewery. And it is a very quick and easy drive to get to the Dulles Airport, or onto the freeway. All in all, this place certainly has left a good impression. Any possible complaints I may have are just nitpicks. Though I would advise potential guests to be careful these days with all the construction going on around the premises, as it makes driving, parking, and walking on the sidewalks a bit difficult. But other than that, I'm giving this Hampton Inn the best review I can. Looking forward to my next stay. read more

223- Stayed here while in the area for a convention. Upon utilizing the Hilton Honors app on my phone - I did see that there are several Hilton properties within the region - all of which are within 10-15min drive. The prices varied but this clicked all my boxes: newer build, within driving distance, and a good price. This one did not disappoint. The room was very large, and had a desk and a couch, along with a wet bar as soon as you walk in. The bathroom was clean and very nice, though the paint on the ceiling in the one corner in the shower was chilling. We had 4 mornings of breakfast - all of which were a nice variety: open faced bagel sandwiches, sausage gravy, omelettes, and eggs. They also have a nice waffle bar as well and fresh fruit and oatmeal - the standard with these locations. Staff was nice as well. I noticed they had a pool too - but didn't bring my floaties. Overall - one of the nicest Hamptons I have stayed at and would highly recommend this one for the price and everything included. read more

Pros: Clean, vibrant, good prices, modern/updated feel, and breakfast included! Cons: location. Not much is in the area besides a donut-bagel and other food places, and a local park. If you don't have a car, this may not be the best place to stay; the city and its "hotspots" aren't here, rather 15 mins driving distance away. I'd say this is a good option for residents needing to put guests up in a hotel compared to tourists new to the area who may not have a car; options for the latter might want to check out hotels closer to Reston Town Center. read more

I'm glad I chose this hotel it has everything you need and the staff here are friendly and professional. I arrived early and 730am and they let me check in right away! Thank goodness because I was so tired from traveling. The lobby is decorated very nice and there are many tables and areas to sit at. They offer coffee and tea all day in the breakfast/lounge area. There is a little sundries shop with food, drinks, snacks, and misc items you pay for at the front desk. The bottled water is free! Just ask for some at the desk. The hallways are very large, clean and quiet. My room was huge! There was a sofa and two queen beds. Right as you enter there is a counter area that has a sink, microwave and mini fridge. There was also a coffee maker and paper towels. The thermostat was easy to adjust. The best part were the beds! They were SO comfortable! My room was well cleaned every day and they provided new soaps, shampoo, vanity kit, and shoe cleaner as well. I chose this hotel because they have free breakfast and a shuttle. The breakfast runs from 6am-10am and they offer hot food selections, pastries, cereal bar, fruit, and a variety of drinks. I was there at 6 every morning. For the hot food they had a make your own waffle station, oatmeal, and scrambled eggs (the box kind, but still good). The other selections changed everyday: canadian bacon, bacon, sausage, biscuit's and gravy, tortillas, cheesy English muffins with bacon on top etc. There is shredded cheese, boiled eggs, and salsa. They also have yogurt! I usually grab some for my room on my way back. They offer a complimentary shuttle to and from Dulles's airport, and anywhere within a three mile radius! I utilized this since I didn't have a car. You just call or sign up at the front desk. It runs from 6am-1030pm. The drivers were always very nice and efficient. I took it to the nearby Reston Town Center to eat dinner and shop a little. Don't forget to tip them! There is a trail right next to this hotel, but I didn't get to use it since it was snowing! It's elevated and fenced so it looks pretty safe. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you're in town and want somewhere quiet and safe with awesome amenities. If you're looking for room service maybe try another spot, but free breakfast was fine for me. read more

Convenient hotel in the area best suited for business travelers and passerby's in the area. Its proximity to Dulles Airport, Reston Town Center, VA 286, and the Toll Road make it a fairly busy hotel. It also shares the parking lot (free parking) with the Marriott Spring Hill Suites right next door. The room was spacious and the staff was friendly. They also had great Covid procedures on hand; I never felt worried during my entire stay. I recommend this hotel. read more

My husband and I stayed here for one night. It is located close to the wo&d trail which is nice if you want to get a run in. You can also take the trail a mile or so into the Reston town center. We had plans to do that but it was raining while we were visiting. The location is close to many things that are within walking or a quick drive. You can also easily grab an Uber. That was our option with the rain. The hotel was really nice. The bed was comfortable and the shower was decent. If you are in town for business or pleasure I think this location would fit the bill. We didn't eat breakfast here since it was about to end when we finally got up. Late night. Haha read more

This is my new go-to hotel in Reston! It's only about 5 minutes away from the office I work at when I'm here as well as a variety of restaurants and a Target. It's also only about 20 minutes from Dulles International Airport. The staff is very friendly and parking is free. The hotel has been completely renovated, the lobby is huge and nicely decorated with a big TV and lots of comfy chairs and outlets if you wanted to do work in the lobby. They also have a little grab-and-go shop with snacks and drinks if you get a late-night craving. I also utilized the Fitness Center which was pretty decent. It had 2 treadmills, an elliptical, a stationary bike, as well as variety of free weights. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub. The hotel room was very nice as well, I had a large king bed which was super comfy and there was even chocolate on my pillow. My room also had a couch and a large desk as well as a pretty good-sized mini fridge and a microwave. Housekeeping came a did a great job cleaning the room everyday. One of my favorite parts was how dark the room got, you couldn't see the light from the hallway so you could get a great night's rest. Breakfast is complementary everyday from 6-10 am. They had slightly different offerings everyday, things like biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, mini omelets, a variety of sausage, bagel toppers, and breakfast potatoes. They also had waffles, bagels, pastries, yogurt, fruit, and cereal. They offer a variety of juices and water as well as coffee which is available 24/7 in the lobby. Overall a pretty decent breakfast for being free! I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Reston! I highly recommend it if you're in the area. read more

This place is very clean and that's a plus during this Covid pandemic. There are a couple of nice eateries nearby in walking distance, especially a french bakery with really good coffee. The beds are very comfortable. It includes a free breakfast buffet which is good and convenient. The waffles are yummy although the bacon was only so so. The spread is satisfactory. Breakfast selection includes eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, waffles, bagels, toast, mini pastries, muffins, yogurt, cereals, apple juice, orange juice, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, apples, bananas, and oatmeal. And coffee, tea and hot chocolate is available in the lobby whenever you want for free. The room was comfortable and includes a mni refrigerator, toiletries, TV, and desk and a lot of outlets and places to connect your laptop. They have internet and a business center if you need to work with printer, paper, stapler, etc. near the front lobby. You can ask for any toiletries you forgot; some are free, others for a small fee. Digital Key Was Not Working. It Just Started Bad. My Room Apparently Wasent Ready Even Tho Like I Said I Checked In A Day Earlier For 3PM! Then Fast Forward To Later That Night When I Returned From Dinner There Was ZERO PARKING. At 10PM On A Saturday Thats Very Crazy To Me. Seems Like They Need A Bigger Parking Area. I Believe The Worst Part And Probably The Biggest Reason Im Writing This Review Is The Next Morning They Banged On My Door And Unlocked It And Attempted To Come In My Room At 10AM! I stayed at the Hampton Inn while attending a wedding in the area. I am usually happy with the Hampton and this was not the exception. A couple of things outside of the regular services (e.g. coffee in the lobby, hot breakfast) this Hampton provides that stood out to me were the TV screens listing when flights were leaving and/or arriving at Dulles. The lobby also had a game system for guests to play. In a nutshell, I enjoyed my stay. I would recommend the hotel if you're looking for something near the airport. read more

Great hotel, free wi-fi & breakfast, and bring your running/walking shoes because it's on a fantastic trail. Room and bath were large and deluxe! Very comfortable bed with three pillows per. Generous work desk with a proper work chair. Refridgerator and tiny microwave. Granite top in the bathroom, if you care about that sort of thing. A real thermostat in the room lets you turn the whole dang system off if you like, and I like. Room technology was hit and miss. Wifi was solid, that was the hit. I didn't see any wired ethernet access. A broken TV was a momentary problem :( but that's what laptops are for :) and they fixed it quickly, then it showed channels in proper hi-def. No charging station in the room, the clock radio wasn't iphone (or any phone) friendly either. Breakfast offered a very nice variety of foods, unfortunately served on styrofoam with plastic forks. Fresh ripe kiwi fruit was outstanding! The food varies by day, I saw eggs, bacon, potatoes, sausage, biscuits with sausage gravy, oatmeal, coffee (pleasantly brown and warm, I'll say no more), juice, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, muffins and bagels, and a make-your-own fresh waffle machine. Very friendly service in the breakfast room (i.e., the lobby) cleaning up. Expen$ive of course. Thanks to Uncle Sam I paid the per diem rate but even that was almost two hundred smackers. This Hampton Inn property abuts the Washington and Old Dominion trail, a rails-to-trails conversion project that runs over 40 miles thru northern Virginia. It's a paved path with proper bridges over the major roads. So popular that even on a cold February morning there were plenty of bikes, walkers and runners. Easy access from Herndon Parkway 100 yards from the hotel front door, then it's a pleasant 15 minute walk to Reston Town Center for food or a drink. Bring your bike, rollerblades or good shoes, I wish I could have brought the dog :) It's squished into a long narrow lot, right up against another hotel on one side and of course the trail at the back. read more

This hotel is outstanding. The young man who checked me in was very kind and quick. Explained well how to get to my room. When I went downstairs to run out to the store another employee asked me if my room was good and if I needed anything. You don't get that very often. Upon coming back they saw I was carrying takeout and asked if I needed any silverware. The restaurant had gave me some but it I can't tell you how many times I DO get stuck at a hotel without any, so that was amazing. The room was also huge and very comfortable, the TV swung out which made it easy to watch and everything was just PERFECT! The only thing else I have to mention is it's cheaper to book on hotels or booking rather then asking for the rate at the desk. Would love to stay here again someday. read more

Driving up north I decided I needed a break and found Hampton Inn a stone throw away from Dulles airport. I made my reservation via HHonors and arrived at 4:00pm for check-in. I was taken care of immediately by a friendly representative who just asked for my ID and credit card and within 10 seconds I was given the key to my room and complimentary Wifi password. En route to my room I observed the business center, dining area, lounge and of course, free cookies and fresh hot coffee for hotel guests. Arrived in my room and it was everything I expected. Large bathroom with walk-in sliding door shower. Little amenities like hair drier, coffee maker and toiletries were in the bathroom. The bedroom was roomy and had a chair with ottoman, a computer desk with the aero chair. Microwave and mini fridge. A large 36" wide screen TV and a huge King sized bed which felt like sleeping on a cloud. My "bill" was placed under my door for convenience and to expedite departure. I woke up the next day, took a hot refreshing shower and used the (thoughtfully) included toiletries to get my day started [shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, moisturizer and mouthwash] - Around 8:30am, I arrived at the buffet breakfast. My first impression: Wow, what a spread! - Large variety of muffins, fresh fruits, juices, bagels, coffee (of course), tea, hot water. You name it! - it was there. Menu items included: Scrambled eggs, French toast sticks, biscuits, gravy, sausage links, bacon and home fries. I was starved so I tried everything and it really hit the 'ol spot, let me tell you. It was absolutely delicious. The dining staff very friendly. Went back up, packed and headed downstairs to checkout. - Again under 10 seconds. I was asked how everything was and I replied "it was perfect" - I gave them my keys and went on my merry way. Without a doubt, The Hampton Inn is my #1 FAVORITE hotel. read more

Spent 3 nights here while at training for work. Quality hotel. First things first: The complimentary breakfast wasn't stellar like the Hilton Homewood Suites, but made up for that with a large variety of food. The fruit was actually great which surprised me. Everything you'd want to see in your hotel: very clean, friendly cleaning staff, complimentary internet. My room had a fridge that was not loaded with crumby and expensive food so I could run to Safeway and do my food shopping for the week. Added bonus: free cookies in the lobby in the afternoon. #winning. Seems like a reliable bet for a hotel in the Herndon/Reston area. read more

One of the better Hamptons I have stayed in recently. Here's what you need to know... pros: close to Dulles airport, shuttle service (check the hours if you are relying on for transportation to/from airport as it doesn't run 24/7), weekly manager's reception, full range of toiletries (shower gel, mouthwash, vanity kit, shower cap in addition to standard shampoo/conditioner/lotion), 6 reserved parking spots for Diamond HH members, lots of restaurant options nearby cons: standard Hampton breakfast (which I am not a fan of), small gym (1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, 1 stationary bike and free weights all crammed into a very small space by the indoor pool), front desk personnel always seemed to be in the back room. Overall, a decent option when staying in the area. Price is usually very competitive as well. read more

I prefer staying at this hotel instead of the Hyatt Summerfield Suites down the street. The lobby is nicely appointed with lots of seating when eating their free breakfast. The breakfast is ok, as the hot foods only consist of eggs (most likely from a carton) with ham, and sausages. The rooms are clean and wifi is free. The staff was extremely courteous - we were able to get a late check out and I was pleased that housekeeping did a wonderful job cleaning, changing out sheets and towels, as well as organizing a few personal things that we'd let out. Stayed here for four nights while in the area. This looks like a newer Hampton property. Lobby, breakfast area and rooms all look fresh and clean. All of the staff, from the front desk to the housekeeping folks are friendly and engaging. They genuinely seem to be happy you are there. I swear that my room was large enough to have its own zip code. Having a sink and microwave was nice, too. As with all Hamptons, there are electrical outlets everywhere, so finding a place for a phone or laptop charger is easy. The only downfall was the wireless access. Speed was slow which made it almost useless for anything more than checking email. I had a faster connection tethered through my phone. That said, I'd still stay there again. read more

Just completed an amazing 3 night stay at Hampton Inn Herndon-Reston, and this will be my preferred hotel for all travel to the area. I travel to The Reston area quite often for business, and I have stayed in many hotels between Reston and the Dulles airport. Marilu had an incredible smile at the front desk, and she was able to get me early check in. The lobby and breakfast area has been recently remodeled, and it is beautiful. I dropped off my bags, and they drove me to the Metro station in their complementary shuttle. The Metro is the most efficient way to get in and out of the city. At night, their shuttle driver would come get me at the station. Reston Town Center is less than a mile away, and they have fantastic dinner restaurants. I got a great night sleep under a thick duvet, and the air conditioner was cranked up. The next morning I was filled up with a beautiful Continental breakfast. The staff takes pride in their work, and they were constantly asking if I needed anything. Arely came by to grab my breakfast dishes with an ear to ear smile on her face. My flight back home was not until 5:00, and the staff let me check out late which probably burst their own schedule. They are sold out again tonight. I love Hampton Inn and always choose the Hotel chain when I get to book for myself. The Hilton Executives should study this location and replicate the motivation and experience at every location. The Hampton Inn Herndon-Reston is the epitome of the Hampton Inn customer experience. read more

I enjoy this hotel. I did have a situation with them. I left behind an item and they were going to charge me to send it back to me. I didn't think that was right because I thought it was something a business would do for its guests or customers. However they did not. After a conversation about it and a couple phone calls they sent my item to me without charging me shipping. I was very happy by this customer service and think they did the right thing and they continue to do great things for their customers. The hotel has plenty of amenities and the rooms are very nice with comfortable beds. Very convenient to most locations. read more

Hotel is clean and seems as though it has kept good COVID regulations in place. However, the service we were greeted with by the host at the front desk was quite under par. We waited for 15 min at the front desk as the employee just looked at us while continuing with another task. As I understand there are other tasks to do I wasn't upset with the wait, I was upset with the attitude we were greeted with as though it was a problem we were checking in. As far as hotels and price this hotel is a good deal, just don't expect good customer service read more

Recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Herndon/Reston. I must say that I was impressed. Hotel is undergoing renovations of the guest rooms and while ours was (I think) not one already renovated, it was still clean and functional. Furniture was a bit old and a few dings and dents on the desks and case goods but, still, a good room. Hotel is very quiet which is nice but, unfortunately, the room we got faced the back of the hotel where we had very bright lights shining into the room all night. Blackout curtains helped as much as possible but still a little bright for our liking. Breakfast was good. Nice variety of options and there seemed to always be a very nice attendant cleaning up the area, picking up used plates, etc. My only suggestion is the television programming in the lobby. Huge TV over the fireplace showing a politically oriented news channel. Given the political tensions of today, would suggest refraining from the news channels (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.) and going to something that might be a bit less political in nature. It's not a deal breaker for sure and I would definitely stay again if I had business in the area. read more

What a great find. This is a very nice hotel, everything still looks brand new. Rooms are a good size. We had a Suite which was really big, fellow travelers had regular rooms which were a nice size too. The cost was incredibly low (suite was $80 a night) for what you got. Decent breakfast in the morning, lots of choices. Pool was decent. No bar or restaurant, but everything else was excellent. Workers were nice. Also in a very convenient location, near major roads and near Reston Town Center. read more

Now this is what I expect from Hampton Inns....unlike our bad experience in CT recently. Great stay at this hampton inn. We were greeted well by gentleman wearing a suit who efficiently checked us in with offer of upgrade which we accepted. The room is fantastic with window overlooking quiet side of hotel with a beautiful giant tree just starting to turn fall colors..very private. Breakfast was great. Only complaint, and why didn't give 5 stars, is no Greek yogurt or plain yogurt. We love this hampton inn and will always choose it when visiting in the area. read more

I generally enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and the service good. The manager was amicable and personable, with stories of the Indian exodus from Idi Amin's Uganda. Be warned however the hotel is a popular destination for large tour groups that roll in on buses, and they can quickly overwhelm the place and occasionally be rowdy at night when you have a business meeting the next morning. I would have given four stars, but they charged my credit card midway through my extended stay without authorization. When I tried to get this fixed, the staff member refused to acknowledge that my card had actually been charged anything, maintaining that it was only a hold, despite my putting her in direct contact with my bank who explained otherwise. I had to wait until the manager came back the next business day to get it resolved. read more

I generally don't mind staying at Hampton Inn chain hotels. This one is particularly nice though. Spacious rooms, clean and comfortable. With a shuttle to / from the airport and local businesses this is a hotel I will return to next time I'm in the area. read more
