I dropped into town for a memorial service and everything went well. Parking was plentiful and easy. The garage made for easy work of getiing stuff out of the car, up the elevator and into the hotel in a few shot steps that were covered d from the elements. All of my preferences were met, and although the hotel sits off the highway I was able to sleep peacefully - the building is well made and very quiet. The restaurant was really good albeit the service was painfully slow. We had appetizers, meals, drinks and everything was very good and hot. I highly recommend the flatbread pizza. I could literally eat that bread all day long. We ate well and laughed much but unfortunately didn't take photos. My room was clean, perfect, the A/C worked well and although the outside air quality was the pits because of the Canadian wildfires, the hotel air quality had me breathing just fine. Now, one step out the doors and you were tasting it! I will definitely come back! read more

Nothing to write home about. Service was terrible except for the restaurant. However, restaurant has a VERY limited menu. It's basically a bar with a few food items. I want to emphasize that the front desk service is terrible. Upon arrival was not even greeted by the woman at the front desk who has a hijab on and a mask covering so that I could not hear her. While I understand cultural sensitivity and people right to worship, the face mask was a covid style mask. I could not understand what she was asking or saying and she became frustrated with me, as if I was the one who was trying to be impolite. Fast forward, upon check out they had an issue with their card machine causing my card to decline (I know because I used it 30 minutes later at a store) and the front desk clerk became annoyed with me, turning the monitor all the way around on the desk to show me that it said "requires referral". I said, "ok what does that mean?" She said, "I don't know, but you still owe $xx.xx dollars." Like really? This is customer service these days. I have no problem paying for my own, but don't be nasty about it. Anyway, again, it's ok. Doesn't match the Marriott category it's in. My stay here was pretty good, but they did charge extra for parking, which is a bit annoying. Lobby area was nice, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The soaps/shampoo seemed high-quality, and there was a robe available. The indoor pool is large and warm, so you can have a lot of people without feeling crowded. Having a hot tub was a nice, relaxing addition, as a lot of hotels don't have them, or they are out of order. The gym had a nice array of options. Pros: husband has never stayed at a Westin before. But he mentioned multiple times how he was gonna start staying at Westin properties because of this hotel. First off the location was perfect. It was close enough that we could get to where we needed to be. But it was still in a relatively quiet location. There were plenty of parking spots in the parking garage and on the ground level. The hotel was clean and well-maintained. I drop something behind the bed and when I went to get it, the area behind the bed was clean. The bathrooms were modern and without any stains. I know for sure this hotel allows dogs because several guest had dogs. We drop by the pool and it was lovely. The service was good. The iron in our room didn't work and they brought me one immediately. Cons: nothing I can think of. Maybe the price? read more

Regarding this hotel don't let their photos fool you. We stayed at the Weston Ruston VA out of a good recommendation for a family trip/memorial. Hoping to relax in the spa/pool it was very disappointing for us and our 11yr old. Spa was closed and the pool looked like a swamp very disgusting. Not to mention they charged us for what supposed to be complementary breakfast for our kid. Also, they had no body wash in the shower or enough towels as well as no fan in the bathroom so it would steam up. Trying to call for staff from the room forget about it no one answers. The staff definitely doesn't go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Please don't stay here you will be disappointed! read more

Took two nights here where $100 per night ( $200 total) was charged on top of the fee and then 8 days later, still no refund of $200 credited back to my card. I tried calling and no one returns your call to explain when or if ever, you'll get your deposit on top of their fees back. Terrible customer service, and a sneaky way hotels like this one which seem to give an unusually low price through Hotels.com or Super.com, really make it up on the back end by simply keeping the deposit. Super grateful for this hotel! With all the crazy flight delays I wasn't able to make my flight and had to find a last-minute reservation. This hotel was close to the airport and super clean! Check in process was slick, as was the checkout process. My only complaint about this hotel was that both my Uber's Had a really hard time finding it because it's tucked back behind a bunch of other complexes. If you travel as much as I do, the gym is an important component for travel. I would never have believed a Westin to be so horrible. Every one of the treadmills sounds like you are on a freight train- they are very loud and old and not good for running because it's not smooth, I assume cause old. I tried every treadmill they had- all were outlandishly loud, old and not smooth for running. You may be on to use these very old treadmills is you walk slowly, but bring ear plugs. The one Peloton bike - the seat doesn't adjust- the screw is totally stripped. So it renders it completely useless unless you are about 4 feet high. The cleaning staff obviously leaves a lot to be desired. The screens on everything look like they were wiped with a dirty rag and you could not see anything. Yes, I was able to clean off properly- not a difficult task, but they ALL should not look this way. It's better if they don't try to clean a screen if they do it that way. The weights are good- but hard to mess those up. Only 2 matts for the whole gym. Temperature set way too warm for a gym also. The hotel rooms also not clean. The beds are clean, but shower has black mold- this is absolutely not ok, not to mention unsanitary and not safe. read more

Its not bad but it's not good. Checkin was prompt but not very friendly. I realized 3 days into the reservation I had a balcony. Pool and fitness area- I would expect these amenities for the cost of the hotel. I had no issues everything was in working order. Nothing was amazing it was mostly cardio. Room- There was no issue with the room. It was up-to-date enough. It didn't necessarily feel very polished. And you could tell. It was probably about ten years since they had a refresh, but it did the job. I know some people were complimenting how good the beds and the pillows were, while other people said they weren't great. Service- There are very few staff here. And you are absolutely going to wait in line if you need anything. Food- So I will say this is where I highly recommend that you go someplace else. The breakfast buffet is kind of well for $23. Not good at all. I basically ate the oatmeal and the fruit and stayed away from everything else. Except for the one day they actually had french toast. The pancakes were cold and hard and juice watery. My group did end up doing a catered. Type of thing during meetings and that food actually was really decent. I'm not sure if it's completely two different cooks, but it definitely felt like it from the breakfast buffet and the lunch menu alone. Location- Location is decently closed to the train and there are a lot of different hotels exactly in this area, but very few food and other types of things to do. read more

We came here to stay after dinner for a Valentine's staycation... Check-in was a breeze, although not very personable (place wasn't busy, but you would think it was by the quickness of the 'cold' service we got)... The first impression of the property was Very Positive! It looks great, with a nice décor. They have a restaurant and bar located off the lobby too (but that's a joke and a completely different review). Our room was decent... we were "upgraded" to a Jr Suite which had an odd configuration, as the "suite" part of it was the sitting area with TV, which was around the corner from the bed area. The room looked nice otherwise and was clean. The blinds didn't work at all, which was VERY frustrating as we couldn't open then in the morning. The shower was OK, but the tub didn't drain at all... This is BEYOND ANNOYING!!! Not sure why the folk cleaning rooms don't check this when cleaning the rooms to prevent guest from having to find this when they're naked and in the shower... It is really bad on the hotel's part! The overall configuration of the room was just odd. The bed was comfy tho and it was moderately clean. Overall, this room served its purpose, but I highly doubt we'll be back... And honestly, Marriott really needs to do an assessment of their properties, they've all mostly been poorly managed and going down hill over the past couple of years... This is ridiculous! read more

We checked in on April 30th for one night as I had a charity event in the area. A lot of our employees stay at this hotel when they travel so I decided to give it a chance. 1. We checked into the room and there was no refrigerator or microwave so we called down to the front desk and we were informed we could not be moved due to the hotel being completely booked. So the dinner we had leftovers from was completed wasted and we could not enjoy it later which was a huge disappointment and wasted money. 2. There is a pull out bed in the room but there are no blankets in the closet so we had to call down to the front desk again to have one brought up which just seems odd if you have a 2nd bed in the room. 3. We decided to enjoy the pool and there were no big towels down there for guest so we had to use our own towels to dry off after the pool. The hot tub was foaming which is a sign of the chemicals being off.. and there is a sign that clearly states no food or drink but was candy wrappers beer cans and soda bottles throughout the swimming area. Overall, the rest of the property was nice and even though it is right off the highway you couldn't hear any noise inside the hotel. There also seemed to be a lot of people enjoying cornhole and drinks on the outdoor patio with the fire pit table. While it seemed pretty busy with the amount of cars that were in the parking lot it didn't feel that way once you stepped in the hotel. An the fact they are dog friendly is amazing. The pool and jacuzzi are amazing after a hard week at work! We reside in Reston but come to stay here for the relaxation and overall experience! I had a great rest in the Westin at Reston Heights. This place was quite, comfy, clean and cozy, spacious and a great place to visit with a family. The staff was pleasant, polite, personable and ready to help. There was a small snack store next to the check inn desk and the on site restaurant made tasty food. The rooms were modern, and the room that we stayed in was spacious (two queen sized beds) and worked well for a family with small kids. The bathrooms were clean, but the hotel provided three large towels for a family of four so we had to ask for one more. The amenities in the room was nice, and the small refrigerator allowed us to store food and drinks for our stay. There was also a microwave and TV and a small desk and a chair with a table. The room had its own HVAC system so you could easily control the temperature and keep your room at a temperature that you choose. There was an indoor pool on site on the top floor next to the exercise room. There was no lifeguard on duty. The pool had 3 swim lanes and was 3.9 feet deep all over. Bring your swim goggles as filtration system was a chlorine/bromine system. The water was clear and a good temperature. The information board listed the water temp as 103 degrees Fahrenheit which was not accurate for the pool. It was closer to 88-90 degrees. It was great for elementary/middle school kids. There was also a hot tub there so the indicated temperature may have been for that. We stayed there when we busted the Udvar Hazy Air and Space Museum and then Great Falls National Park. There was plenty of parking on site. Stop on by if you are in the area. Happy trails! read more

Horrible -Westin Reston Heights 11750 Sunrise Valley Drive Reston, VA 20191-experience!! Upon check in T.V was not working had to unpack with maintenence in room. Ice bucket they brought to room had a hole in it, ruined my phone cord. 6:05 am next day toilet became clogged and gushed water into room we are now having to move at 6:10am in the morning. 6:25am-Next room, air conditioner does not work- we are sitting in hot room- maintenance did not come until 11:05. Toiletries came after I called again11:00. Conclusion -40$ ruined phone cord, 2 moves in to days, set in hotel room in heat for 4 hours and each day shared a portion of time with a maintenance person in my room. Marriott Bonvoy Member- They did nothing!!! Conclusion DO NOT BE FOOLED, BEING A MARRIOTT BONVOY MEMBER MEANS NOTHING ANYMORE.!! . read more

This Westin in Reston is nothing unique. I'm unsure why the rates are higher than the adjacent Sheraton or the properties across the highway at the Reston Town Center. The parking is $19 a night but the garage is completely empty. The morning breakfast as a T.E. member was incredibly poor: buffet style eggs, rotating dry sausage, yogurt, and rotating fruit. The coffee was awful - I switched to tea on morning three. They offered no upgrade for me at check-in and I had to inform the front-desk staff of how to do a few things at check-in (they assumed wasn't possible or were untrained on how to do it). Finally, the location really is terrible, highly recommend staying over at the Courtyard (I think) at the Reston Town Center (which you must drive to, about 4 minutes, because a walk is 30+ minutes due to the road situation) where there restaurants are interesting. read more

Not sure how this facility has such high ratings. Yes the lobby nice, they have free Starbucks coffee and a restaurant. The room was clean. However for our 4 night 5 day stay in a nearly empty hotel they did not clean fully once. They didn't pick up the trash and just gave towels and made bed half way. There was also a leak in the shower which I complained but they did not actually fix it when I took a bath I saw fuzz/hair in a fixture. I am giving this 2 stars bc room was super cheap for size on a holiday weekend. However the lack of service was disgraceful. read more

Gaby is brutal and rude. There was a sudden health issue in our family, so we had to cancel a holiday reservation last minute, the day of (Dec 27). We were supposed to be visiting family. Having to cancel the trip was already stressful enough. But then Gaby found a way to compound the misery. We called Expedia and they were very nice and agreed that the full 3-day stay should be refunded... they explained that they just had to call the Westin and get the on-duty supervisor to agree. Well, the Expedia agent called and got Gaby (the front desk supervisor), spoke to her, then came back on the line with me. The Expedia agent, who was sort of shocked and apologetic, said, "Gaby denied the request and will not refund the reservation, no matter the health issue or emergency." Nice. I spent one night at the Westin Reston for work. Hotel is somewhat secluded but easily accessible. Free parking garage is adjacent to the hotel. Room was slightly warm. I tried to turn the thermostat down but it never got colder in the room. No refrigerator in the room but a big gaping whole in the armoir where the fridge should be. There was even a handle missing. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom appeared to be recently upgraded as the shower was very nice. I did have a few drinks in the hotel bar. Bar was quite large and the bartender was friendly enough. Beers seemed a little expensive for a hotel bar. Hotel is definitely serviceable if you are in the area. Reston Town Center is approximately two miles away. read more

Exceptionally disappointed and annoyed to get a phonecall 5 hours before checking in from the manager saying "Sorry we overbooked and are cancelling your reservation". I was in this hotel all of 10 hours, and 6 of them were sleeping, so I didn't get a complete experience. That said, it's a great hotel. Nice and quiet. Good location; Quick check-in. Up-to-date furnishings. I had a super large room with a "livingroom," so almost like a suite. Comfy bed. Plenty of mirrors to inspect yourself after getting dressed. My main complaint is the monochromatic, soporific design palette--great for relaxing if that's what you want, but not otherwise. Kinda too dim inside the room and elsewhere. People like rainfall shower heads, but I don't. They're really awkward to use if you're not washing your hair. Also, I think I lucked out on parking and got a really good spot not too far from the door, but I didn't see much parking to be had if the hotel were full. Elevators require you to use your room key at all hours, apparently not just at late hours. That can be inconvenient if you're carrying lots of stuff. read more

I love the white tea scents of Westin. The front desk competent. Garage parking is free and plentiful. Some nights there's good activity in the bar area. Free Starbucks coffee in the bar area in the morning. Shuttle service comes after Sheraton so usually arrives 5 minutes after the half hour and hour. Only complaint would be having to allocate AT LEAST 30 minutes for breakfast. Business travelers usually want breakfast to be short right? Walking to Reston Town Center is not recommended, as there isn't a sidewalk on Sunrise Valley Drive between the hotel and Reston Parkway. read more

Stayed at the Westin for two nights with two friends while visiting the DMV. We checked in on Friday evening and I left on Sunday at 10:35, taking the shuttle to Dulles International Airport. We were very intrigued by the coffee bar, but we didn't realize that it closes at 11AM; however, when we went downstairs on Saturday at around 11:35 to find it, the lady at the Vinifera hostess stand ran back into the kitchen for us and gave us three coffees with cream and let us have it free of charge. We were all very impressed by the service. One thing that was a little annoying was that for the first day or so our key cards were all pretty hit or miss, and by Saturday night when we got back from Baltimore they had stopped working altogether, so we had to run down and have them reset before we could get back into our room. That was a quick and easy fix, though. The spottiness of the free internet was more of an issue, but we were all able to connect our devices eventually. It just took a couple of tries! On Saturday morning, I was able to take the airport shuttle to IAD with no issues. The driver and concierges I interacted with were all very helpful. Thanks for the pleasant experience! read more

Westin has always been a name that suggests superior quality and a beautiful hotel. I have stayed at many across the country. But unfortunately this location was quite disappointing compared to the others I have visited. The lobby is small but very nice, as is the restaurant /wine bar, but the room left a lot to be desired. The room had average quality dated furniture, that was quite worn. The 3 primary lamps in the room were old and covered with dated, yellow shades. It was impossible to bring the light level up to anything acceptable after dark. The carpet looked as if it had not been vacuumed. The remaining aspects of the room were simply unimpressive. The staff was very friendly, but I expect far more from a Westin property, especially considering the higher price. I will stay elsewhere in the future. read more

Stayed three night while visiting the in-laws. Clean and staff was very nice! Spacious lobby - great parking. We had a mini suite with a king sized bed. Plenty of room for three of us! We asked for a roll away bed for my daughter and she had her own private area. Decent, updated bathroom. Restaurant was in the process of a remodel so we were not able to check that out.
