I especially recommend the cheddar biscuits as they were savory and soft. I liked how there was a separation of the hot water from the coffee urns. No coffee taste in my tea! There's a little outdoor patio with some seating near fire pits, which is a nice touch. The room itself was okay. The bed was disappointing, not that comfortable and the springs on one side squeaked at the slightest movement. The mattress was definitely showing some age. But the temperature control was good, no issues with WiFi, and the other furniture seemed to hold up. The bathroom was decent, no issues with the shower either, For the price, this is an okay option in Kittery.

The location is perfect--just about 15 minutes from York Beach and 20 minutes from Hampton Beach, making it easy to explore the area. The staff truly made our stay special. We had to book at the last minute after leaving another hotel that wasn't clean, and they were so kind and reassuring. They promised we'd love it here, and they were absolutely right! The property has a cute little gift shop, offers drinks for purchase, and has a beautiful patio where you can relax. Breakfast each morning was a wonderful way to start the day, and we loved that complimentary coffee, tea, and hot cocoa were available all day and night. One of the best surprises was that they provide pots, pans, and access to a grill if you'd like to cook your own meals, which really made it feel like a cozy home away from home. If we ever come back to Maine, we would absolutely book the two suites here again. We highly recommend staying here!

Well, nothing is more evident than that. We called and we checked in for our 2-night stay. We were shown to our room and never saw the guy again. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The view of the pond was nice. The room was tiny, the TV was tiny, the refrigerator was good with a freezer that actually worked, and the bathroom was tiny. There is a tiny table and chairs set, the size of a child's play set. The vending machine in the lobby was "Out of Order." No longer is there a working restaurant on the premises. As others have written, you practically had to step into the bathtub to close and open the bathroom door. The bathroom was clean. Use caution, the seat moves when you least expect it. There were no tissues in the room. There is a K-Cup coffee maker but the coffee supplies were not replaced for our second day. I suppose this was because there is no housekeeping if staying two or more days. The walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbor's TVs clearly, as well as their "adult alone time." Despite putting our sign out on the door requesting housekeeping, nothing was done. We had one set of towels for two days. We opened the dresser and found old stale snacks had been left in it by previous occupants. Check out was another phone call. It sounded as if we woke him. It was 10:45. We did get a "Have a good day" but nothing as far as "Thank you for staying with us" "Please come again" or even "How was your stay?" It was almost like we were bothering him to check out. We just put the key on the desk and left. Two days and we saw the guy once. I guess the old saying, "You get what you pay for" holds true here. Never again.

We had an enclosed porch (shared with other rooms, but not a hindrance, still felt private enough!), smart tv, coffee maker, fridge- everything we needed! Also, the comfiest bed ever (i almost didn't want to leave!) We wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the paddle boats and kayaks, but we did stroll down to the dock on the lake, and the water was so warm and lovely! Miriam (the owner), without us asking, upgraded our room as there was some extra availability that weekend! Clean, quiet, with everything we needed- we loved this place and hope to be back!

He's the picture perfect front desk employee and HoJo's is very lucky to have him. Quick and efficient if that's what you want, will chat your ear off if that's what you want. Truly excellent service. The breakfast provided is small, but honestly, the muffins were very fresh and delicious. Plenty of bread/toast options. Nothing fancy, but hey! it's included! One thing i disagree with some of the other reviews is the noise from the highway. I am not a sound sleeper and I did not notice the highway noise at all overnight. It's much worse at the Best Western or Anchorage Inn. And the con i do agree with is the parking lot. It's fine, there is enough parking, but the side of the building ones make me super nervous about other people not paying attention. All in all, this is a budget hotel but for the price and the area, it's the best you're going to find in this price range. Comfortable, clean, and good service. Over the next two days, we were greeted every time we left and returned to the hotel. The Holiday Inn Express Wells-Ogunquit-Kennebunk has an outstanding location on Post Road convenient to a ton of restaurants. There is a Hannaford's supermarket around the corner, and you are maybe a 5-minute drive to the beach. We had a large room with a comfy bed, work-station-desk, plenty of charging and electrical outlets, a couch, and a large bathroom with a good shower. The flatscreen TV had a lot of options and the Wi-Fi worked easily. The included breakfasts were excellent too- with a pancake machine, different omelet varieties, home fries, three cereals, yogurt, fruit, and best of all a coffee machine that grinds up fresh beans for every cup. The coffee (plus regular and sugar free hot chocolate mixes) were available 24 hours, and how much did we love brewing up a fresh cup of coffee at night instead of rolling the dice with the contents of those lobby tankards with 5-hour old sludge? We loved every minute of our stay.
