The only other Hampton Inn I have ever experienced was the one in Moss Point, Mississippi. It was the nicest hotel available in the Pascagoula area and it was on an expense account so you could feel like a big guy (4u) pulling up on those cookies in the lobby. This hotel chain's location in Nac provided improvements over Moss Point, but I actually have two of the exact same complaints which means my criticism is institutional and not targeted at a specific location. The Hammy is conveniently located on the east side of 59 headed into Nac proper so if you are driving in from Houston it's a convenient stop to check in, unload things, and then continue your sojourn on into town. There is no direct left into the hotel when you come back from town but you take the first u-turn past the hotel and it's not too bad so long as you don't mind waiting for all the 18 wheelers to race past as they try to make the light about a quarter mile down yonder. This part of town has had many nearby businesses close which is a bit unfortch for this hood. The Arby's across 59 from the hotel had me very excited because I love that old gal and there is not a single convenient one in Houston, it's a nearly 50 minute drive to the closest one from my house so getting to Nac is only a bit further away really. However upon closer inspection it is not just closed but looks like it has been closed for quite some time and one side is covered in menacing looking (menacing? No Hello Kitty so obvi) graffiti. There are other things closed nearby as well. For convenience however directly next door to the hotel is a gas station that has wine & beers and Church's Chicken has an outpost inside the gas station for good eatin' as well. This makes up for the Hammy not having a dedicated restaurant in their hotel for lunch/dinner situations, but at least the Hammy has you covered with the bfast. The lobby is a bit small as the front desk is very confined with a faux wall to give room to the breakfasting area & TV seating area behind it, as well as a small gift shoppe of sundries next to the desk leading towards the business centre, fitness centre, and pool outside. The check in experience was not entirely smooth as the one person working the desk alone in the middle of the day was entirely overwhelmed with one phone call, two guests in front of me, and me waiting to check in. Ultimately overwhelmed by that finally another employee was called in to assist from the back office. I think hotel check in should take about thirty seconds if I ask a complicated question about quantum mechanics so I was not pleased with the 20 minutes this took but at least it got done eventually so I did not need to unchain the Babadook's affinity for drama and let things get dramatic but fashionable as long as you are wearing the right hat at the time, which I was. It took so long however all I could do after checking in was run to my room, throw my things down, snap some photos for muh yelps, and then get going to the meeting in town I was already running late for. The breakfast situation was far improved over the Moss Point since they had a working waffle maker here and waffles are life brah, Leslie Knope knows the score. The oatmeal still tasted like wet dog as it had in Moss Point so wherever they get the bulk mix, they should get it somewhere else. But the waffle here crushed it for breakfast just like the pizza topper bagels had in Moss Point. The real reason why I struck a star from their yelp rating is the soaps in the bathroom. Their soaps are the "suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked" in the parlance of Homer Simpson. The soap literally stuck to your body, both the face bar and the body bar were basically like getting coated in corn syrup and whatever else disgusting you might say. The parking sitch was also not entirely ideal since it is uncovered, and there are no boundaries to the wilderness so especially if you park in back near the rear door for convenience some kind of forest dwelling creature has easy access to your car if they want to ram their stupid antlers into it or whatever else those forest things like to do for funsies and mayhem. A fence would also make it feel safer that a bearded survivalist weirdo isn't going to drag you into the woods and have their way with you. Sure there is a camera but at best there will be footage on youtube of you #serving #up #looks as you are dragged off, which leaves a great legacy for your memefriends to enjoy on repeat, but probably won't help too much in the personal safety & security department as you walk to your car in late evening or early morning. The room was clean, which is one of the most important aspects of a hotel experience. The lobby was also clean which provided a nice first impression. Wifi worked well, and they gave easy instructions on logging in. Would I stay here again next time I am in the area? You Sarah-Palin-betcha! But I will bring my own soap, because this soap is garbage.

    The room.

We had a great stay here. Walls were thin, but everything was clean and what we needed. They even upgraded our room for us. We will be back.

Don't waste your money on a suite. Same as a regular room; but with a couch. Continental breakfast was good though.

Boutique style hotel that has a long history in Nacogdoches and affinity for SFA. My wife was…read moreable to find a Lumberjack parent package which included a bottle of wine, Lumberjack hat, Lumberjack shirt, and adult sip cup (which you can use to get soda, tea for free in the bar downstairs!). This was certainly off peak season and not during parents weekend, but the price was $181 before taxes on a double queen bed room. It's just a block or so off the square so you can walk to plenty of activities and shopping. Just a mile or two from SFA so easy access there too. It's no wonder this place fills up so quickly during parents weekend or homecoming and such. Older HVAC system but newer dual thermostat which adjusts for hot or cold depending on the temperature you set. Seemed to work fine, though it got a little cold in the winter evening we were there before it adjusted. Place was built in the 50s but really nice remodeling done in all the areas. Room was spacious. Bathroom a bit on the smaller side, and the shower is one of those where you have to reach under the shower head so you get a little cold shot before pulling your hand back! Also, no shower door which I am not a fan of, but seemed to be fine after I put a towel mat down. Plenty of towels, pillows and bed covers so the place presents itself as upscale. Sundays they have all day happy hours in the bar (9 flags). But warning, if it's slow they will close everything down early and head home.... Another concern might be during peak times because there was only one elevators, which is modernized, but still a Lone Ranger! Seems each floor has a drink machine right by the elevator for convenience. More than a dozen food places within one mile of the place. Parking out front and on the side of the building was pretty easy and convenient. They do have a car port at the lobby entrance to check in before you park if you prefer. My wife took advantage of the 25% coupon in the gift shop as part of the parent package and bought several fredonia and sfa swag it a great discount. Thumbs up on this place from me, wife, and teenager. Just a note, as we had our electric car this trip. Not charging station at this hotel. As for the rest of the town, there is a Tesla supercharging station, but everything else around town is either level 1 or 2 and basically located at a place of business or hotel. One win for Elon on this category!

No upkeep, terrible service, pool trashed, and staff telling you off. I also paid for fresh flowers in the room and sparkling wine for our arrival. I received plastic flowers and a $6 bottle of sparkling wine from HEB. Ridiculous. We also paid for a pool view room. You will see how bad that was in the photos. We reached out the the management staff they never responded All we can thank this property for is successfully ruining our anniversary.
