I stayed over night in this great place. It is away from town, but worth the few extra minutes to get there. It was quiet and peaceful. Even though it showed a little age, they kept it up well and the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding property is very inviting for a nice walk. The pool was clean. A unique place to stay with clean rooms very friendly staff and plenty of places to get away from the city. Many swings and seating areas to enjoy the country view. I stayed here with some friends for a weekend fishing trip on Nacogdoches Lake. The place is quaint and serene. The whole place is well maintained and is nice to explore during the day. The room was clean and very spacious. They have two nice ponds to do a little fishing. The food is excellent. I could eat their breakfast everyday. What makes me give this place five stars is the owners & staff. They are all very courteous and helpful. The owners themselves helped out to make my stay very comfortable and a delight. I will definitely return here the next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Read the review by paul r which prompted me to share my thoughts about the Pine Creek Inn. We've been here twice for the Thanksgiving buffet. The price is reasonable, the food and service are very good and it's the only choice in the Nac area for a Thanksgiving buffet. It's a traditional buffet with numerous choices of meats, sides, salads, pasta, fruit, bread and dessert. The place is not fancy and the decor is a little underwhelming. It needs to be modernized and updated. The last time we were there, two Thanksgivings ago, they were being pretty skimpy with the white meat turkey and actually had someone standing guard over the turkey with a large fork! Had to go back a couple of times for more but it was good and cooked right outside the door. Have not stayed at the Inn but it's perfect if you are spending time on Lake Nacogdoches. Would be way better than staying at one of the places on HWY 59/North Street if you have business in Nac. It's less than 15 minutes from just about anywhere around the city. read more

The owners of Pine Creek Country Inn of Nacogdoches, TX were one of the worst rude innkeepers I've dealt with in my entire life. Not only that, but it wasn't one of the nicest inns we've been to. Some facts you should be aware of: 1. They NOW have over 65 feral cats roaming the property outside. I am severely allergic to cats and so are my children. Oh, there are some cats that are pregnant and there was this cat with kittens inside a trash bin with a sign saying that we are NOT to dispose any type of trash in there because it's a place for the mother cat and its kitten. It was the only trash bin on the deck and I wasn't sure where to put my "trash" in and had to haul it back to my cottage just to throw it out. 2. Cats are also inside the main lodge. I wasn't too pleased about this. There's signs all over the property about the cats. There was also a sign at the check in desk asking for monetary donations for the care of the cats. I think the owners care more about the cats than their guests. 3. The cottage itself reeked of cat piss. There's carpeting inside the cottage. I don't know if cats ever went inside the cottage but I couldn't get over the smell of cat piss inside our room. I felt sick for days. Allergy pills did not help. 4. The food sucked. They serve the same disgusting breakfast every morning. I wouldn't recommend eating lunch or dinner there. We stayed for 4 days/3 nights. Take it from me. Don't even bother eating there. 5. They advertise that they have free WIFI. The WIFI mostly works in the main lodge area. I couldn't even connect to the WIFI network from my cottage. 6. The owners have the worst worst "guest services" ever. Our toilet kept having slow-flush/clogging problems for days and we repeatedly asked them to handle it. And they said they would but they didn't. Finally we had to ask for a plunger so we could take care of the issue ourselves. They handed us a smelly plunger in a garbage bag and told us to return the plunger ASAP. 7. We checked out at 8:35am on a Sunday morning. The main lodge was locked. We knocked and the male owner came out. I said that we were checking out and asked if we could let my young children use the bathroom in the lobby. The male owner told me to take the cottage key and to head back to the cottage and use the bathroom there. Mind you, it's a bit of a long walk for my young children and I knew they weren't going to be able to hold it in that long. I was bewildered. I couldn't believe the owner would NOT let my children use the PUBLIC bathroom in the lobby few feet away from the door. I politely asked again and he started yelling at us that we were too early and to go back to the cottage. He got even more rude and by then I finally lost it. I told the owner not to complain if my children pee/poop right in front of the main lodge because they can't hold it in. 8. We stayed here because a friend was getting married at the Pine Creek Country Inn. At the wedding, they served the wedding cake. I kept asking for coffee to go with the cake. I waited and waited for over 15 minutes. I asked again and I was told to go to the kitchen and to ask for coffee. I went to the kitchen, asked for coffee with cream and sugar. I went back to my table and I was served lukewarm black coffee with no cream and absolutely no sugar. I will NEVER ever come back to this place again. Not even if it was a free stay. The owners are downright rude and they shouldn't be in the hospitality business if they do not understand how to run an inn and keep their guests happy. I travel often and I have never ever encountered such unpleasant experiences like this one before. BEWARE. Don't stay here. Stay elsewhere for that anywhere else will be paradise and paradise ain't here. read more

My wife and I were looking for a great place to get out of town and relax for our anniversary. I ran into the Pine Creeks website and was sold on the location and amenities. We booked one of the honeymoon suites which came with a king sized bed, hot tub for 2 and satellite tv. The cabin was very comfortable and I highly recommend. My only complaint is that we were told there would be wifi in the cabin. We were unable to pick up a signal on any one of our devices. We ended up going to the main office to Skype with our five-year-old. Cell phone reception here is also very spotty but the main office does have a cell phone booster which will help with your signal. read more

This place is beyond peaceful and beautiful. The lay out may be a little confusing especially when arriving at night but that is to be expected. The room we stayed in had a couch, tv, nice open restroom and a comfortable bed. It gave a very homey feeling. We also upgraded to get the jacuzzi right outside of our front door. Well worth it! The lodging is very spaced out so the peace and quiet was amazing. The hospitality we received from the front desk and employees there was astounding. Always with a smile on their face and always making sure we were comfortable. Let's face it's a smile goes a long way when your so far from home and exploring a new place. When staying here you can't come with the expectations of a 5 star hotel. There will be cats, bugs and little critters but I did not mind one bit. It was rather charming in my opinion. Here are the facts with no opinions: 1. Nobody works the front desk at night, they leave your keys attached to a post it board. You need to decide if that is safe for your family. 2. It is so dark there at night it will be very difficult to find your cabin, please allow extra time and additional sources of light to find your cabin. A flashlight is recommended. 3. The roads are skinny and poorly maintained I bottomed my car twice. A large truck should be fine. You will not be able to pass another car in several areas, please be careful. 4. My family and I had to leave the Inn. We were unable to find the cabin, my three children were very upset and our experience was very poor. We relocated to an alternate location at 10PM that night. 5. Manager said "10PM at night, you can see fine, plenty light" and did nothing to credit our stay so I had to go to my credit card company. They did not take my concerns into account and protested my credit request for a room we never stayed in. 6. There is NO cell service at the facility. If you are in need of help, you will need to understand there is no ability to phone for help from a cell phone. Yelp has modified my review three times. This review has no opinion, only facts, it is for my original stay and only been edited once. If I could give Pine Creek zero stars, that's what they earned. I'm lifetime gold on AA and SPG, travel a lot. I'm disgusted that they would not credit us for a room we never stayed in. read more

1 star only for the view. The hospitality is a joke! No comp coffee. Breakfast is only 45 mins. They say from 9-10 and wrapping up by 9:45. Narrow roads that only one car can get by to get into the place. NO CELL OR INTERNET SERVICE! Their Wifi constantly drops. Cats everywhere even on the check-in desk. My husband and I stayed for our anniversary weekend in Cottage 17. It's was a nice getaway from the hustle of Houston. Our room was very cute and clean with a comfy bed, TV, small deck overlooking the creek, and very nice jacuzzi bathtub. The food in the café was delicious and the waitress was beyond attentive. Lisa was so sweet and very accommodating! I just wish the cottages had a fresher face and that they're were paved walking trails. Overall, it was wonderful! read more

Very disappointed with this place. May have been a very nice place to stay at one time but I believe the owners may have lost interest. I will say the food was very good. Biggest turn off was the 20 plus cats (we lost count) hanging around. We had to walk through a litter box to get to the dinning area, front desk and our room. The smell was beyond horrible. Owner says cats will stay, they are hers! Rooms were clean but like an out of date motel. The area was very nice with pretty views but the cats were EVERYWHERE!! The room we were in was in the main house and right above a reception hall of which there was a party with loud music till 11pm! When we complained, the owner said she was aware of where Our room was but could not do anything about it. Wish she would have told us prior to booking. read more

Haven't stayed at the Inn, but I have had dinner in the restaurant! A gem hidden in the woods - don't let the plain country decor fool you. Double birthday celebration for my dad and my brother. The service was a bit slow but that was offset by the very personal attention of our server. The food was excellent! Very authentic beef bourguignon that absolutely melted in your mouth. The vegetable of the day was green beans and they were cooked to perfection - right at the intersection of raw-tasting and over-cooked. Our server didn't bat an eye (or charge extra) to substitute a side salad for the potato. This was "Steak Night" so mom had a New York Strip au Poivre - cooked exactly to her request for medium-rare - with a cream sauce that was as smooth as silk. Sister-in-law had Lamb Chops that were tasty with an eye toward presentation. Bread Pudding New Orleans style (with Bourbon Sauce and Raisins) was delicious. But the Dessert Shooters were a favorite - perfect serving size and a chance to try two different flavors (don't miss the Coconut Cream or the Apple Pie). My wife and I just finished a one night fantastic stay while we dropped our son off at SFA. We stayed in cottage 18 that was nice and quiet. The cottage had a fire place, jacuzzi, wifi, Direct TV and AC. Initially, we had an issue with electrical/AC, but they resolved it right away. The grounds and restaurant are great, but would be nice for some marked walking and biking paths. Nice getaway and we will be back. read more

Lisa and her husband are the MOST GRACIOUS hosts! We stayed here for a private event - drove down from Oklahoma to celebrate with friends from ALL OVER THE US AND CANADA! We had an absolutely fantastic time, the facilities are CLEAN and attractive, and we couldn't ask for anything more. This is a country inn - not a 5 star urban hotel - it is charming, tidy, the grounds are beautiful, and unlike in other posts I NEVER ONCE smelled a cat - although I did occasionally see them around, I can't imagine living in the country without them! Stayed at the Pine Creek Country Inn this weekend 8/14-8/16/15. The host, Lisa, is such a gem! So hospitable and friendly. Really cares about her customers. The electricity went out for about 1/2 hour and Lisa made sure everyone was taken care of. It was out of her control! I recommend this property to everyone in the area.
