We had an overall pleasant stay here. I wanted a reasonably priced hotel near-ish Catalina State Park and the Hampton Inn was by far one of the best options for cost compared to value. Check in was seamless and the front desk attendant was so friendly and sweet. If you have the Hilton app you can check in and choose your room ahead of time, as well as check out virtually. The room was well maintained and beds were comfy. You can hear your neighbors and any sounds from outside the door but overall it was pretty quiet here. They offer free hot breakfast and the selections sound good on paper. They have a waffle maker (Mini and regular size) with two types of batter, scrambled eggs, sausage, various breads, bagels and pastries, juice, milk, fruit and hard boiled eggs to name a few items. The eggs had a weird texture that tasted a bit slimy when eating them with some hard edges too. Weirdest tasting eggs I've had at a breakfast but hey it's free, can't complain too much. I checked out on the app and had no problems after we left. Overall it's a decent stay and I'd come back again if I needed a hotel in this part of Tucson. read more

Stayed for the weekend as soon as you walked in it smells clean and fresh. The bed was comfortable and staff were helpfull.

Parking: Plenty of free parking in front. Breakfast: Free daily at 6am. Eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, juice. There are two waffle machines with different shapes. I didn't like the omelette cheese style egg. The sausage patties were chicken apple flavor. They had vanilla and red bean waffle mix flavor. Pro: -24 hour Coffee station in the lobby -Has a full length Mirror -Blow dryer -All the amenities you need to make your stay at home -Microwave -Comfy bed -Closet -nice outdoor pool -gym -large business center Con: -The hard water in AZ is terrible. I noticed the dry effect immediately after washing my hands. My skin itches after a shower. Be sure to bring lotion and eczema cream if you're sensitive. I have very little complaints with my stay. I would say overall, a solid 4 stars. The staff were very friendly. The check in process was easy and they offered a virtual check in if you download the app. The breakfast buffet was very nice with options for everyone and they changed it up daily. The view of the mountains is phenomenal and there's plenty to do in the area. The WiFi worked well and I had no issues with it. The only complaints I had were that the tub was an odd shape (I can see a guest falling if they have mobility issues ) and I had a maintenance complaint that didn't get addressed after the staff said someone would be up shortly. The place was very clean and I feel like the value for what you got was high. I wouldn't say 5 stars but I could see a 4.5 being fair. read more

The first thing I loved about this place is the pictures that you see on the booking websites is exactly what the hotel looks like. When we got here yesterday to check in, the front desk clerk was unable to find our reservation, rather than just telling me to call the 3rd party site I booked through, he was really kind and helpful and ended up being able to find it. The hotel lobby and hallway areas were all really clean and well maintained, and it is just overall a very nice area of the hotel. My little one loved the pool area and the fact the lights change colors. The room was decent to stay for a night, it's nothing to write home about but the photos online are exactly what it looks like so there was no disappointment there. The breakfast area was really nice, and while they didn't have a crazy amount of options the options they did have were good. I'd definitely think about staying here again if I was in the area. read more

Located in a secure area near shops and restaurants, check-in was a seamless process. We arrived late at night, exhausted from a 13-hour drive, and specifically requested a quiet room. Upon entering the room, we were immediately struck by a foul odor. We turned the air conditioning and fan on high and went to bed. I woke up to use the bathroom and discovered an ant infestation, which was both alarming and disturbing. It was 3 in the morning, and we were unable to relocate. There was no bleach/chlorine smell which was wonderful. The pool was cold and the jacuzzi was hot. Plenty of shade by the pool, great hours, and checkout was 11am. I've stayed here twice now. It's ok. Not horrible, not great. An older building that could definitely use some updates and renovations. On this last visit, however, there were multiple issues, like the air conditioning broke in the fitness room, and there was a plumbing issue that had my suite smelling like sewage. Ew. Also, the "Do Not Disturb" tag mysteriously disappeared from outside my door one day. Not sure what's going on here, but I'll likely look for elsewhere to stay the next time I'm in Tucson for business. FYI - there is only one elevator. read more

I have had mostly good experiences with Hampton Inns, but this stay has me questioning whether I will stay in any Hilton properties in the future. Hamptons have been my go-to for business travel to smaller cities because previously they have been consistent and a good value. Upon arrival in room 331, I noticed an odd smell - somewhat like burning plastic or some weird cleaning chemical. I figured maybe a previous guest had some sort of mishap with the coffee maker or something. Over the next 2 days, I suffered from massive headaches that spoiled my Tucson visit. When I returned to my room the afternoon after the second night, the smell in the room was considerably present, and I made the connection that perhaps this is what was making me sick. I called down to the front desk and spoke with the manager on duty about it. She came up and observed the smell in the room - at first telling me that the AC unit "makes that smell when it's hot outside and working really hard." She then told me that she was going to check the room next door. I thought perhaps she was checking to see about moving me next door. Instead, when we went into that room (329) the acrid fumes were overpowering. She stated that the problem was the AC unit in THAT room, and that the fumes were coming into my room under the door that connected the two. I asked to be moved to another room, far away from 329/331. I was moved to 308, on the other side of the hotel. That room was fine, and I had no issues with feeling a headache/sick the final night/morning of checkout. This gives me concern about what exactly I may have been breathing in the other room. Upon checkout, I told the other manager on duty about my experience. I told her about the potential fire/health hazard that might be happening. She apologized and said she would "add some points" to my account. I didn't know what to say to that. A coupon??? The next day I received an email survey from Hilton, and related my experience/concerns. It was the weekend, so I could not call Hilton corporate to talk to someone about it. I received an email response, saying that Hilton was aware that someone at the hotel had been in touch with me about the situation, and they hope I was satisfied with the resolution. What?? I emailed back, saying that I had NOT been contacted, and that I wanted to talk to someone about it. The reply that I received was basically "we're sorry about the bad smell. Here are some Hilton points." This left me feeling that the company was really diminishing my concerns, and giving me a paltry discount toward spending more with them in the future was just not the right way to handle it. I called this morning and asked to speak with someone in the CEO's office, and was given an email address. I am following up with that. So, my piece of advice that I will take myself in the future - if you smell something odd in your hotel room, ask to move to another room immediately. Aside from this experience, the hotel itself is a somewhat dated property. The rooms are clean but old fashioned. The lobby and breakfast area are fine and what you would expect from a Hampton. The hotel sits between another hotel and a gas station/dairy queen. When I stopped at the gas station there were two homeless men gathering scrap metal in the parking lot. In retrospect, I wish I'd booked a room at one of the nearby resort properties. read more

Pleasant stay for 2 nights to visit the grands near Oro Valley. Room was clean with generous bathroom amenities. The complimentary buffet breakfast was busy between 8:30 and 10 am for good reason. They offer American breakfast choices: eggs, meat, potatoes, breads, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice. The make-your-own waffle station was nice with 2 irons and topping choices. So here is the thing, I travel across the country for work, for quite a few years now. So I book through a 3rd party because the company pays for it. And I do have a company cc authurized for my use for anything I may need while staying out of town. Out of every hotel I have stayed at, this hotel, is the only one, that does not know its own system and asks me for a cc for insidentals. So I provide them with my company cc that I am able to use. And I get denied, because it does not have my name on it. By Daniel, and whoever the low level manager girl is, that I didn't get her name. The only 2 people that allows me here. Is the sweet old lady manager that is here in the morning, and the other front desk girl, also sweet, that i remember from when i stayed here a little over 2yrs ago. Recently stayed here while our home was being worked on. It's on a busy street but it's set back enough that you really can't hear the noise from your room. The hotel is very clean, breakfast was ok but coffee could be better. And they do make fresh cookies for an evening treat. Starbucks coffee is across the busy highway if you need a step up from the hotel's coffee. The pool area is quiet with some areas that are shaded. read more

Very solid Hampton Inn location. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. The hotel had a nice Spanish themed decor which I liked and it had many updated features. My room was very clean and spacious. I also really loved all of the common areas like the lobby and the breakfast area. The pool also looked really nice. There was a business center as well. Cons: There is some construction happening throughout the hotel and it is very noisy. While I was there it didn't start until about 9:30-10:00 am but it was very loud and distracting so I eventually checked out and started my day. The rooms do not have microwaves or refrigerators which for me is key when traveling. It's a bit far out from the city. Nothing outrageous, just about a 20 minute drive. I would stay here again, but would first look for something closer to town. read more

Our rooms were really clean and I like that they put a sticker on the door to state they sanitized the room .. staff is friendly but during Labor Day weekend you'd expect more than one person to be at the front desk checking in guests . The only other downside I'd have to say is that the pool was so filthy .. the jacuzzi was green and the pool had leaves and bugs floating everywhere . I get that it's nearly impossible to prevent leaves and bugs from getting in the pool but maybe coming out once every two hours to clean up the pool or something . read more

Ehhh. I guess it's good for the price but definitely lacking. I stay at Hilton brand hotels all over the country for work and I am very familiar with the Hampton brand. The staff were actually all very amazing. The lobby is really nice and modern, but that's where it ends. The rooms need serious updating. They have poor lighting and old orange and brown carpet and furniture. Perhaps they were going for a southwest theme but it comes off as dated and dingy. The bed was awful and pillows go flat. The a/c and heat is a wall unit and you alternate between sweating And freezing all night. However comparatively To the other Hhonors options this was very well priced and while it seemed dingy it was clean. The staff make up for the lack of updates however I will probably stay at the Embassy suites next time as the bed resulted in very poor sleep and in the end that's the most important part. read more

I cannot believe I did this, but I had reservations at the Hampton In. & Suites at the airport and at 2am I navigated my husband to this location instead. OMG. I'm so grateful to the night clerk- I wish I caught his name. He quickly called the other location, got me a cancellation without a penalty and put us up here :) The room was super clean and the beds were really comfortable. The continental breakfast was really good too- with hot eggs and a prime rib hash. Everything worked out great and I'm glad I made the mistake after all! Highly recommend. read more

All I hear are the orders being taken from the Dairy Queen drive thru! Insane... kept me up last night and now tonight. The first night I thought I was hearing things in my sleep, but tonight confirms that I wasn't dreaming about vanilla with sprinkles; it was actually someone's The Suite I had was right next to the Dairy Queen and it was extremely annoying and unpleasant car after car. I am a Travel Agent and I had to be up super early to get to work and meetings on my stay here. To say the least I was exhausted. Breakfast was good however. read more

I've been to Tucson a few times during my career for business but never had a steady hotel when I visit due to mediocre service. Last week I stayed here for a few nights and here's what made my experience different from other hotels; staff was super friendly and accommodating, location was great and my room actually smelled like Lysol (unlike the other hotels). The pool is open until 10pm and the sunrise view from the back is something worth spending a few minutes soaking in. Just want to give a shout out to Oscar who checked me in, answered all my questions and gave me a room right where I wanted it. Also, shout out to Suzhanna for going above and beyond for me with the greatest hospitality and passion for service. Outstanding job Hampton Inn and Suites in Tucson and kudos to your team. We arrived Monday before Christmas to visit my wife's cousin. Checked in 12:45ish. The staff at the front were all very nice & accommodating. Our suite was ready and we were on our way. Very nice, 1 bed & bath suite, sans a kitchen, perfect for our 5 day stay & us. In the mornings starting at 6 they have their breakfast buffet. Since we usually stay at Hamptons when away, we knew what to expect.. A decent selection of breakfast items, from hot to cold items. Of course, different juices, milks, creams & difference coffee blends. It's always good with us. All n all our stay was quite nice, as we have come to expect. There is however one glaring exception, this trip. When we came back to our room Christmas Eve around 9, there was a blue paper from housekeeping, asking us, do we wish, no housekeeping, lite housekeeping or the usual housekeeping...We understood it was since the next day was Christmas. So we put, lite & anytime after 8am. The paper, didn't give any other instructions, leave outside your room, take to the front desk? Nothing, we'll, it's asking about service for tomorrow, how are they going to know? Come into your room early while your still asleep or perhaps getting ready...I don't think so. So I took it to the front desk, by this time it's 9:30. The fellow looked at it, said he didn't know of this and said he'd make sure the night manager received it. He was polite & professional. The next morning I went to get some coffee before breakfast, to drink in the room. On my way back, I spoke to one of two gals on our floor, mentioning the blue paper, the type of service & time being anytime after 8am. Later around 7:30, going down for breakfast we spoke too another gal & mentioned this again. She said she'd take care of it. Long story, I know. Almost done. Since we were leaving for the day, I anticipated we'd be back around 7 or 8. We'll we did get back & as you can now imagine, the room hadn't been touched. We did asked when prompted by the blue paper ask for lite service. Make the bed, don't change the sheets, no vacuum, take trash out & new towels....Nothing, now I'm pissed. How are we going to shower tomorrow...Yes I know ho ask for towels in the morning...No I'd had enough, I thought I went out if my way to make sure I was getting service & going through all the right people. Well, I went to the front desk that night to get some towels.. They were as expected, apologetic & tried to assist. She did say she would make notes for management!! Which I appreciated. One of the workers came to our room a bit later with bath towels, but no face & wash cloths. Ok ok. I know it's long...When we went to check out on Friday, I mentioned this to the front desk personnel & I asked for some consideration...She said & I quote, I'm so sorry this happened, I read that note & yes we can accommodate your request. She disappeared in the back for a minute, came back and said, Mr. B how about we take that night off your bill. And that folks, is good customer relations & service...Things happen, I get it..Yet you have it in your power, not to make it go away, but to do something that shows your in this with your client... All n all a 4 star. read more

We stayed at this location because of my niece's graduation from U of A. (#BearDown, Kyli). The best part of our hotel stay was the staff and breakfast. The staff was friendly and were super accomodating. Grace was great! Upon our arrival, she invited us to grab some freshly made chocolate chips cookies. And, the cleaning crew actually forgot to leave wash cloths in our room after they cleaned. Grace (to the rescue) brought us a bunch...and it was 11:30 in the evening! The rooms are a little dated, but certainly clean. The room was very comfy. You can tell that they've invested money in trying to keep things updated. The decor in the lobby was nice and the complimentary breakfast was very good...lots of variety. Whether you wanted yogurt or oatmeal or waffles and eggs, they had a good selection. And the coffee was really good! The price point was a little higher than normal for a Hampton, but we enjoyed our stay. We probably would stay there again. The only comment I have is that the room didnt have a safe. We didn't have a safe, so we had to take all of our electronics and valuables with us. Oh!! One more thing..although there was a light in our bathroom, there wasn't a light directly in our shower...we couldnt tell whether we were still dirty!! I guess we did ok....HAHA! read more

Love this place and it definitely serve our purpose during our visit this past holiday. We usually stay next door at La Posada Lodge. Thought about giving this hotel property a stay and happy we did. The daily breakfast buffet was very good nice selection and waffle maker is popular. What I Love is that they serve hot oatmeal breakfast cereal with condiments which is about all that I can eat most mornings. Huge spacious accommodations some of the in room amenities could use minor improvements. Our Bathtub drained not working correctly, bedroom door not able to open completely which only means bedroom very small. The studio layout not very well thought out & planned. I thought there was a lot of wasted space and areas where it was unnecessary. read more

This place is BEAUTIFUL, it looks like all the pictures here on yelp. The price was WONDERFUL also! I had originally checked into another "well known" hotel across the street, and it was so bad, I had to leave at 11p. I had no idea where to go, stopped in here, and their staff was SO warm and inviting. They got me checked in, in like 3 minutes, had me smiling, and put me up in a suite that was nicer than my first apartment! The facilities are clean and well kept. The suite smelled nice when I walked in, the glass mirrored doors on the closet were clean, no finger prints or smidges, the bed is extremely comfortable, every thing here was better than I could have expected, especially for what I feel was a great price. I stayed for a couple of days while in town and I would definitely stay here again. If I didn't have business to handle, I could have easily slept in bed all day. Bed was THAT comfy. Customer service was great and appreciated. Nice TV with automatic turnoff if you fall asleep, AC/Heat worked as expected, room was clean, microwave and fridge was provided in my room and a ceiling fan above the bed, which was a plus for me to even out the room temperature. One point taken off because of no on-site dining/bar available, however you will be surrounded by many types of restaurants since this location is close to the Tucson Mall. They could use a upgrade to the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. The shower head did not rotate so it was easy to get water on the floor. Lastly, they could tighten up the shower faucet and it looked like the air vent in the bathroom was tampered with and not secured. ALL not real big issues with me. Nice location and pretty quiet! I loved staying here while in Tucson for work. The breakfast was amazing everytime (although not a fan of the turkey links). The decor is beautiful in the lobby and it almost transport you to somewhere else. Staff was very friendly and easy going and helped me find my way around. Place was very clean and upkept nicely whether it was indoors, outdoors, or in your room. There is an outdoor pool and spa as well. The pool is heated so it wasn't too cold during my stay. The spa sits towards the back so you can enjoy the scenery while relaxing. read more

I stayed here a few nights and enjoyed having a good west side hotel in Tucson. The room rates were good for a new hotel and the facility looked brand new and clean. The complimentary breakfast (Continental plus eggs and waffles / biscuits and gravy) was good and hot. If you stay here before the weather heats up the pool will probably be too cold to swim, but they still have a spa. The rooms were small like you expect at Hampton Inn, but they were in pretty much new condition. There's all kinds of restaurants around, plus the Tucson Mall and other big shopping centers within a mile or so, which make this hotel good for a week-long stay on a budget. read more

I stayed at Hampton Inn Tucson Mall North for the Tucson Marathon. The hotel was very busy with runners, but the front desk was always exceedingly friendly and helpful. When I checked in, all the king bed rooms were full, so I got a free upgrade to a king bed suite with a separate living room and kitchenette/dining room. They patiently explained the logistics of getting to the race start in the morning. They graciously let me stay past my checkout time without giving me a big hassle so I could clean up post-race before heading to the airport. The room was very comfortable and quiet, very relaxing for getting plenty of rest before the big race. I definitely plan to return to Tucson for another Tucson Marathon, and I will happily be staying at this Hampton Inn next time I return. read more

The staff here are all so friendly and helpful. I am always so appreciative when I get great customer service and that's exactly what I got. The hotel is pretty as well, clean and kept well. We stayed in a king bed suite I believe and it was a spacious room with a huge living room/dining area. I can't complain about the breakfast. It's better than most hotel breakfasts. I would recommend this place and stay here again! And another perk, Starbucks is right across the street! Lol read more
