Old hotel to start with - needs updating, our room was musty & moldy smelling, bed sheets were not soft but scratchy cheap. We arrived a little early in the day before check in time, but they said they had a room available. My bill surprisingly showed an early check in fee of $25 with tax and Austin's fee attached. Seriously that is a big percentage of the total bill. So much for accommodations and hospitality. Most hotels have a least water given at the desks for check in and places like Hyatt Place have it in the room. Not here. Travel to Austin quite a bit - will not stay here again. I sent feedback to the Manager's text regarding my satisfaction, and his response was that I should have called the front desk on the musty - moldy smell - like he forgot quality control is on him and not up to me to check out the room first. This must be a franchise location as it is not up to Hilton's standards. read more

I've stayed here about 10 times in the past 8 years and it's been fine, until my last visit. My next door neighbors were having an all night screaming ----fest. I called the front desk to ask them to pipe down. Instead, they suggested that I move. It was 1am and I was exhausted so I put up with it and moved to another room the next day. I was po'd because I had to move, not the offending couple. Management was nonplused about the situation, and could not have cared less. Staying elsewhere next time. read more

I felt like I stepped back in time. When you walk in, you're greeted with a slightly musty smell, likely from the carpets. The decor is very dated and some of the amenities you would expect are just not there. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and the plumbing in the shower doesn't fully adjust from the tub spout to the show head so it's pretty frustrating when you have a ton of hair like myself. The breakfast is really off - food is not good and yogurt was warm, etc. The staff is very nice at this hotel and it is in a convenient location but there are better choices in the area. read more

This hotel has really gotten better post-covid. Friendly staff and the hot breakfast is back. Rooms are comfy with large tv's and the bathroom is good sized. They pass my test where the drains all flow and aren't backed up. It'll be even better once the construction is done! read more

Average hotel for the most part. Shared a 2 bed room with my brother when we traveled to Austin for a cousin's wedding. Room had the 2 beds, a tv, mini fridge and a bathroom. The curtains were not as darkening as other hotels, which let sun in at times. The bathroom wasn't bad, except when the neighbor flushed or did something in theirs, the toilet in our room would gurgle and make a splash inside the bowl. The best part of the hotel was the continental breakfast. They had a huge selection from 6am-10am. Everyday they had a different egg-based meal, pork product, cereal, breads, waffles, etc. The best was they had 2 choices for waffles: Regular or Cinnamon. The Cinnamon were amazing, and I had them almost every day. They had a nice 4ft inground pool with lounge chairs that the guests could enjoy. When we were there, it was record breaking temps in May (97-100 each day) so it was nice to relax in the pool to cool off. The problem with the hotel was all the construction going on near it. It is away from the main city, but right off one of the highways. They are working on an 8 year highway project and the entrance was hard too find. I was extremely disappointed with the staff at the Hampton Inn in Austin, Oakhill. The staff were rude, argumentative, and unprofessional, lacked any sense of candor, and genuinely seemed like something you would see in a bad movie. For context, my wife traveled to Austin on a business trip, and I was recommended by a colleague that she should stay at this hotel. I couldn't go because I was in Pennsylvania, visiting my mother in the ICU unit at Passavant hospital. I told the representative I wouldn't be there because my mom was being taken off life support, and it would only be my wife checking in. I mentioned this to the worker on the phone because I wanted to know if my wife could use my military discount if I booked the hotel for her and sent them a copy of my military id via email, as they requested."There After her check-in, I received a call from the front desk, stating that they could no longer give us the military rate because she didn't present the ID. I was confused by this because they asked me to send a copy via email, which they now had on file, but the representative was unwilling to listen. I asked to speak with the manager and she was even more uncooperative and downright disrespectful. I continually asked if I could explain myself, and let them know they have my ID on file, but the woman threw a tantrum and said my wife has 30 minutes to leave their hotel and we just paid for 5 days. It was easily the worst hotel experience I've had in 42 years, and I wouldn't recommend anyone stay there. I have a long list of colleagues that come to Austin and work in this area, and it's a shame for military families to be treated with such disregard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as the poor level of professionalism and candor from the staff was unacceptable. Jordan is AMAZING!! I managed the front desk and Sales Dept for Red Lion/Doubletree properties for 15+ years and I can assure Hampton Inns that they have a rock star in Jordan as Assistant Gen Manager! (And Pablo as GM!) Was in town for my brother's wedding which meant myself and two estranged sisters were in the same location at the same time which is a recipe for drama. Unfortunately for Jordan, she was manning the front desk that afternoon. My youngest sister was in charge of reservations for immediate family (unbeknownst to me until the day of arrival as my dad said he had grabbed the rooms) and upon arriving, my check-in went smoothly as Jordan is a professional. Hours later when my youngest sister decided to check on the reservations, it turns out that my room selection and offer to pay for our middle sister's room at check-in had started a chain of holy hell sister drama from which Jordan had no escape. Somehow, with the patience and grace of a consomate pro, and with the amazing help of her GM Pablo, they worked their magic and executed unfathomable conflict resolution. We all survived without bloodshed and had an amazing time at their beautiful hotel. The wedding had a huge block of rooms as no one lived in Austin, including the happy couple. We heard nothing but compliments and great comments about the hotel, complimentary breakfast, the rooms, the property, etc. The luggage carts on site are a huge plus for this location, especially for bookings like wedding groups. The property is clean and well kept, the elevators are prompt and clean, the staff is courteous and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, the showers work great, airport shuttle is awesome, breakfast is fantastic, beds are comfy, and the prices are competitive. What more do you want? Book a room at Austin/Oakhill!! And to the Hilton family...your Hampton Inn property in Austin/Oakville is in extremely capable hands with Pablo and Jordan and I would make sure you don't lose either of them. I am just wanting to let everyone know the great thing that happened here. We live close by and my husband and I come here for a night "away" every now and then. Jus this week we stayed for one night after going out on a date night and I left my Diamond stud earrings on the nightstand. The next day we got an email that they were turned in. You're going to love the hidden entrance that has no lights in the evening, and a ton of traffic 24/7. The Sodexho breakfast will remind you every other motel on the side of the highway. The a/c has a tendency to go out in the middle of the night, but if you crack your door to let in air from the hallway, you can get a little cooler. Just a hint of refer in the air. At night don't even think of parking in front, that will be full, or the sides. Try the back. The water pressure feels like someone standing on the roof while peeing on your head, but the temperature is ok. Surprisingly the wifi works well; why anyone would pay for premium wifi is beyond me. Hilton's are not the best hotels and this brand is more on the sub par, low end, but not quite flea bag. You'll know housekeeping as been in your room by that lingering smell of menthols. Feather pillows that go flat pretty quickly, but the bed itself is comfortable. Not too firm. Overall it's a place to put your head down but you wouldn't want to stay here twice. Your website does not give descriptions of which rooms have baths.We checked in and immediately upon entering the room noticed there was no bath. The manager, Jordan, knowing that we have been without water for four weeks and have stayed at that location many times, told me, "As a mother, it IS possible to bathe your kid without a bath". Wow. I can not believe the lack of empathy, if anything else, from one mother to another. Plus, that is not what we paid for. 4 weeks without water...that is the only reason we went there. Stayed here for one night on April 23, 2022. We had been here before about 5 years prior. The road construction is still going on out front. Can get a little confusing getting to it at night. Overall, the hotel is still great. We stayed at a different Hampton Inn February 2022. We were on the second floor at the time. The ceiling there was really thin and could constantly here people up and moving around. We requested a third-floor room this time and got room 314. Room was very quiet, could not here any noise. The room faces away from the highway so no street noise. Back parking lot was pretty well lit at night. Room and bathroom were very clean. The TV is pretty big. Breakfast was good. Hot Scrambled eggs, Hot hashbrowns, Hot oatmeal. Make your own waffles, assorted muffins and some grab and go nutri-grain bars. Loved the variety of juices as well. Lobby also has coffee and hot chocolate available. All in all, great stay. When I'm in this part of Austin again I would not hesitate to stay here again. read more

We stayed here for a wedding in Dripping Springs. It's a good "in between" because it's close enough to Austin to be able to enjoy the hill country and the city in one visit. Getting a reservation was easy :-) when we arrived, we were greeted with M&M cookies, lemonade and cucumber water at the front desk. The place is very clean, quiet and well kept. Free wifi. My parents, had a CONFIRMED reservation last night. They were flying back into Texas, from being on vacation, in celebration of 56 years of marriage. (So incredibly awesome. ) Their flight wasn't scheduled to arrive at ABIA until shortly after midnight. They live outside of Fbg., (close to 2 hours from the airport to their home). They decided BEFORE they left to book a room for the night, so they WOULDN'T have to drive home from the airport, at 12:30 or 1AM. They went to check in shortly after 1 AM & they were told there was NO RESERVATION UNDER THEIR NAME & NO ROOMS WERE AVAILABLE!!!!! (I'd like to add my parents are EXTREMELY LOYAL TO HAMPTON INN!) They ALWAYS utilize the Hampton brand name, anytime they book hotel reservations, provided there is a Hampton where they are going. We all know that covers just about anywhere... Anyway, they ended up having to drive BACK HOME at 1:30 AM, after a very long day/flight!!! Out of respect, I won't mention their age(s) but you have a pretty good idea given the fact I quoted how many years they've been married. Plus I'm not afraid to say I just turned 48 last week. So....feel free to do the math. The fact they were TURNED AWAY & "forced" to make a 2 hour drive home at 1:30 AM, is enough in itself to make my blood boil & send me into another dimension. Then add in other factors such as jet lag, their ages, the TIME OF NIGHT, & THE FACT THEY HAD CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS, WHICH MY MOM HAD MADE OVER THE PHONE BEFORE THEY LEFT TO GO ON VACATION!!!!!!!!! I lost it completely when I found this out around 2 AM. My mom had even spoken in DETAIL with the agent who "booked their reservation", about what time they'd be arriving. She was worried about it being after midnight & how that would/could affect their check-in. All of this was thoroughly discussed, confirmed, verified, etc., WAY AHEAD OF TIME. I may be a little overly protective & possibly a bit "old fashion" BUT I FIND THIS TO BE COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, TACKY & EXTREMELY RUDE!!!! HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF IT WERE YOU OR YOUR PARENTS. This front desk agent had absolutely NO EMPATHY, NO REMORSE, OR CONCERN FOR OTHERS WELL BEING. NOT TO MENTION ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I'M BEYOND BAFFLED AS TO HOW THEY EVEN HAVE A JOB WORKING WITH THE PUBLIC IN THE 1ST PLACE! Last night just about sent me to the ER. I KNOW FOR A FACT, I PERSONALLY WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HAMPTON INN, EVER! NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO MY WORST NIGHTMARE! In fact, Hampton will be my last choice when booking a hotel reservation from this point forward, unless of course I'm with my parents. I am quite sure they will continue to utilize "this brand name" simply because that is just how nice, forgiving, & understanding they are. I on the other hand, will NEVER forget the long 3 hours I spent in a rage, trying to calm myself down, not have the cops called on me, while anxiously awaiting a call from my parents to let me know they had made it home safe. I'm glad to have a nice little Hilton property on the Southwest side of town! My office is a couple of miles from here, and up till now I've had to stay by the airport or downtown. The pros--free parking, free internet, free breakfast, brand new property, and good hospitality. Jack Allen's Kitchen is a quick drive down the road if you want a fun and tasty dinner, too. The cons--unless your work or your family is out here, there's not a lot to do in this part of town. It's not walking distance from anything, really. And there are only a few restaurants nearby. Traffic on 71 is terrible too. It took me 7 minutes to get out of the parking lot one morning. That's pretty ridiculous, even for rush hour. read more

Nice, nice, nice. Stayed here for 4 nights and was very pleased. Love that a few days before stay you receive an email confirming your visit and you can actually pick your exact room according to a map of available rooms. Place is super clean, mind you I did not break out an ultraviolet light and look for semen stains, but generally all was ship shape. Bathrooms were very clean, no signs of mold or mildew. the room smelled fresh. Nice size TV good selection of channels and free internet with good connection. Free breakfast! Everyday there are scrambled eggs, Oatmeal, Waffles, pastries, cereal and fruit and each day they rotate an additional hot item like bacon, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, sausage. The food quality was good kitchen area clean. Breakfast is from 6-10 starts getting busy around 7:30am. The only negative is they do not have like a convenience store to buy any items like drinks, snacks, medicine ect that you might suddenly need. read more

Good location for lunch at Torchies and dinner at Jack Allen's , and not too far from Downtown Austin. Rooms are clean and smell fresh, pool is a fun amenity, free breakfast is good, although cut fruit has bad taste. Coffee is available all day and I love the chocolate cookies and cucumber drink and lemonade available mid- afternoon. Cleaning staff is helpful and accommodating . I have stayed here 3 times and find the staff very welcoming and friendly, especially Sara, who always tries to be accommodating. . I have been shuttled to and from the airport a few times but amenity is not always available. I arraigned to be shuttled to airport at 3 pm , and it was 3:20 pm when I had to find another way to travel bc the shuttle was late and manager wasn't giving me any information. I will stay here again but will not depend on the shuttle . read more

The current staff at this hotel make it great. They have cookies and cucumber water & lemonade out in the lobby. There is free breakfast which has almost everything eggs, waffles, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, cereal. nuts, dried fruit, choc chips, whip cream, caramel, bagels, english muffins, pastry, muffins, juice, coffee, and milk. One of the hostess came out with fresh baked cinnamon rolls. Um ok, yes please. The room was just fine; not loud, beds were comfortable. Only negative- my dad had a big black hair on his bed before he got in it. Gross. read more

I've stayed here 1-2 times a year since it opened for business. It's true -- the hotel just kind of sneaks up on you while driving down 290. If you hit William Cannon, you just missed it. I swear there were white Christmas-type lights strung on the hotel during one of my last times here not close to the holidays but not this time in October. You can see the red Hampton lettering though. Due to growth in this part of town and beyond, traffic here can be pretty horrendous though I think William Cannon is better than 290. That said, very friendly staff. Good, typical Hampton breakfast, plenty of parking. If you want to stay on the SW side of town, I recommend this place. read more

I usually stay at Embassy Suites as a very regular Hilton honors member. In this business trip, the Embassy Suites was sold out and so I choose this Hampton Inn since it was close to where I had appointments. First, I get lost with GPS and was lost finding the hotel. I called the hotel and although I was super frustrated the gentleman on the other end of the call was so calming and patient. Plus 1 When I arrived the front desk person (who I spoke to on the phone) was so kind, helpful, checked me in right away and gave me great suggestions based on questions I had on a late rainy night. Plus 2 I told him I needed to go to the gym to work off frustration of the day and he pulled out an extra bottle of water and directed me on my way Plus 3 The room was so clean, bed so comfortable and everything worked! Plus 4 The gym had great equipment, was clean for a hotel that I would have assumed to be bare bones equipment Plus 5 Ok so you say these are minor pluses but when you travel a lot and stay in many places, these are all so important especially if I am grumpy like I was on my stay Plus 6 Now for the best part...the gentleman was the Hotel Manager Chris! He was so hand's on and made everything such a great experience for me. I would have never known he was the manager if I didn't know he was the manager when I checked out and asked for his name to give a great yelp review. There are not too many times when I see a hotel manager so hand's on in making a hotel experience to the detail so wonderful. This is a fairly new Hampton and not easily found through gps/google maps, etc. Luckily I read the hotel description that it was hidden on a hill behind some oaks. It is accessible on both sides of the road but still a little confusing. All the regular Hampton amenities - Diamond parking in front, free internet, breakfast, cookies when you arrive in the evening. Despite it's hidden location, there are a lot of restaurants in the area and you are only 10-15 minutes from downtown depending on traffic (which we all know is a crapshoot, so good luck). Even though this HGI gets a pass on everything, I wouldn't stay here again unless I had business in the immediate area. It's just too far out of the way from what I like to do when I am in Austin. Oh and did anyone mention that there's a cemetery on the other side of the hotel? Kinda creeped me out. read more

I stayed in the King Whirlpool Suite and it was fantastic! The service at this hotel was amazing, especially Mike at the Front Desk--he was incredibly helpful and made sure that I had everything I needed, including calling me when my rides arrived. The price for such nice accomodations was very reasonable. This hotel was very clean and everything was clean new and modern and the hotel even smelled fresh! I had stayed at the Hampton in Austi -Oak Hill for 5 days and found it to be very hospitable. The continental breakfast was always clean with fresh food varieties. The gym was equipped with more cardio than weight equipment. Although they did have a 5lb to 50lb dumbbell rack. There wasn't a hot tub, which is fine in Texas. The pool was minimal, but clean. WiFi choices were basic and premium. I used the premium and never had a problem. The room was clean every morning without cumbersome housekeeping carts sprawled throughout the hallways. Full basic channels for cable. AC worked terrific. The room was well appointed and updated. Personnel ALWAYS friendly and knowledgeable about where to eat, shop or local venues. Want to give a specific mention to Sarah.. she went up and beyond and made me feel right at home. Very friendly and enjoyable. She is the sole reason I became a Rewards Member. Clean and comfortable with a great breakfast. A little hard to access off Hwy 290. This hotel can be a little pricey for a Hampton but that maybe typical for Austin. That said it can be reasonable at slow times. It is contemporary and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff was very nice and tried to help when we needed to check in early. The breakfast, though not the cooked-to-order level, has a lot of choices besides cold cereal and pastries they had hot oatmeal in a crockpot, waffle makers, hard boiled eggs and a hot cooked option that changes with the days. When we were there the first day was pre made omlets and cooked red potatoes, day two was scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy. My only suggestion is that they use a different cleaner on their tile floors. The tile feels sticky when you walk but this usually means the wrong cleaner. Other than that, it was great! read more

The staff is always very friendly, the amenities are always operational and intact, and the place is comfortable and welcoming. Traffic on the highway is away from the hotel, but is very challenging. The city is working on that as you can see. Unless you dash across the street for Pizza Hut, you will need a car. We had multiple odd things pop up during our stay (lost luggage at airport, need to use freezer in the kitchen downstairs), and the staff was extremely accommodating. Wonderful, amazing, beautiful female staff. The women who work here deserve all the recognition for how inviting and high end this hotel appears. HOWEVER, there is a manager whose name I don't recall, but he appeared either black or hispanic; that man is truly the living embodiment of disrespect and unprofessionalism. He threatened to put his hands on me if I didn't leave "his" hotel. I had fallen while drunk and bumped my head, blood was dripping from my forehead, and this man was yelling at me to leave the premise and gave absolutely no care when I informed him my wallet was somewhere in the grass outside. Instead, he insisted he had looked for it and that I was just a "druggie". When he called the police on me, he described me as a "5'something tall black man who was obviously on drugs and harassing him." I don't know his name, I don't know how his day had gone prior, but the pretentiousness this man had was beyond concerning. I feel terrible for the women who helped me get in contact with my ride to ACL because they really have to deal with that idiotic man who has nothing better to do than harass and raise judgements on young adults who are having fun. Sorry the manager position only gets you by paycheck to paycheck, you ain't gotta take it out on us young people just tryna get trashed for ACL. Stayed here for an out of town wedding. The manager Chris went out of his way and came through with a clothes steamer for our wedding clothes.
