A combination of a 3 hour flight delay followed by a flight cancellation at 9pm and being rebooked to a 6am flight the following morning led me to stay at an airport hotel at CMH for the first time. Unfortunately, this was the weakest Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at in my ~10 years of being a Hilton elite member. The shuttle between the hotel and the airport is on an on-call basis, so you need to call the hotel and ask to be picked up. There were 3 of us on the cancelled flight, and we all called individually to ask for the shuttle. Apparently the shuttle driver on call went off shift right after we called and didn't relay that we needed picked up to the next shuttle driver. So we ended up waiting 25 minutes before we had to call again. All this for a hotel that's only a 9 minute walk away if there wasn't all the airport construction. At check-in, I wasn't offered any bottle of water or snack even though I had those selected for my Hilton MyWay choice benefit as a Hilton Diamond. The room is dark and dingy, definitely in need of a remodel. The sink had strands of long hair that were not mine. The shower only got lukewarm. I was told there'll be food to grab to-go for breakfast because I had to go back to the airport at 5am and the hotel breakfast doesn't start til 6am. There weren't any food to go. Overall, my stay was good, but I was a little disappointed with the check-in experience as a Lifetime Diamond member. I wasn't offered the usual welcome water or snack, which I've come to expect as part of my benefits. It's a small gesture, but it makes a difference in feeling recognized and appreciated. Later, I went downstairs to have something printed and asked Daisy for a snack. She wasn't rude, but she didn't offer much else or seem too eager to make sure I received all my Diamond perks. It came off a bit stingy, even though I know it's likely just a matter of better training or awareness. Not a deal-breaker, but it's something the team could improve on--especially for loyal Hilton guests who've earned that status. read more

Hotel is dated. There was trash in the hall outside our door when we checked in that was still there when we checked out the next day. The smoke alarm beeped for a low battery. A call to the front desk went unreturned for an hour until we called again. There response was there were no maintenance people on staff. We were to pull the alarm from the wall, remove the battery and disconnect the wiring. Unbelievable. I paid to stay there, not to do work and violate fire safety codes. There was no apology and no attempt to move rooms. This stay was terrible and we do not recommend staying here. read more

Do not stay here!! We experience a check in issue at a different hotel so we called Hampton to book it there. It was five minutes away so we drove there and by the time I arrived the price had increased $30!!! How the heck does the price increase $30 in five minutes? I was here long enough to crawl in bed, sleep 4 hours, shower, and leave. But I saw enough to say it's clean, didn't smell bad in the hallway, shower was pretty good, very comfortable bed, new-ish, and the staff was super helpful. Oh and affordable. I think McDonalds is walking distance away, which is nice but I didn't take advantage of it. Should have, because the Southwest concourse in the airport has NO FOOD at 5 AM other than Char-bucks, which I will never step foot in...unless to get Mrs. Yelper something. Had zero plans to stay here, but got stuck in a TERRIBLE traffic jam on my way to the airport and missed my evening flight. Got a SUPER early flight out the following morning, and it just didn't make sense to return home to Springfield, so this super close location was perfect for my needs. Comfortable, clean, quiet (except for the overhead plane noise, hmmmm!!) and I got the room at a reasonable last minute rate. Would have appreciated the breakfast, but I left at 5am, before it started. I DID appreciate the quick shuttle to the airport the next morning. The only negative was that the toll-free number I called (from the airport) assured me that parking in the hotel parking lot would be included in my rate while I was there, which it was not. It was, however, only $7.00 a night, so definitely not a deal breaker. It also took a WHILE to get the shuttle at the airport back to the hotel to pick up my car once my trip was over, but it was pretty late in the evening, and I imagine they don't have a ton of staff for that... The shuttle, btw, is shared with the next door Hilton Garden Hotel and one other, I believe, so get there early, leaving and returning, to get a good seat!! I'm sure this hotel has plenty of amenities available, none of which I used, but it's a fine option if you have an early flight out, or are just planning to zoom in and out of Columbus... read more

DISGUSTING. I'm in tears over the experience I've been having with Hilton. I stayed at the Columbus Ohio Airport Hampton on Sunday evening. When I left Monday, bed bug bites began to appear all over my body. Over the last two days these bites have turned into painful itchy blisters. Once I've tried reaching out to Hilton I've been dismissed, I've even been told "that didn't happen, what do you want me to do about it?" I can't believe that 1. They don't care and 2. We booked this hotel to leave our vehicle while we traveled. We called to confirm that was something they offered as we have had family members do the same thing. They said as long as we stayed 1 night we could leave our vehicle. We got here and were told that it was an extra package we had to book and because we prepaid, they could not offer us that package. That was never mentioned when we called nor was it an option on the app. So we book this more expensive hotel and now also have to pay for parking at the airport. Desk clerk and customer service just gave me the runaround and acted like I was an idiot. I stay at Hilton properties 85% of the time. Guess I'll be looking at other brands now. read more

Handicap accessible room was at the end of a long hall on second floor. The only "accessibility" feature was the two grab bars to assist in stepping over the side of the tub. Fitted sheet didn't and by morning you were on the mattress itself. Stay was for two days but there was no place to store any clothes and there was very little room for toiletries in the bathroom. Plus, we had to call for a trash bag and toilet paper. We travel to Columbus frequently as we have family there and have been disappointed in 2 of the 3 Hilton brands we've used. No more Hilton brands for us when there are so many more to choose from. read more

One of the few decent hotels near the airport. Although it felt like a ghost hotel (we were the only ones on our floor), the staff (especially Pablo) were very friendly. Quite simply, I'd sleep in my car before I stayed here again. I arrived to less than stellar energy from the front desk which was fine. Employees don't have to be my friend. The lobby was loud and DISRESPECTFUL. There was someone in there cursing loud on the phone, being belligerent and I don't even know if they were a guest. It was loud, disrespectful, shady feeling and it didn't stop there... I got to my first room & well.... I got high as soon as I opened the door. I don't even know how that room wouldn't have been reported unless they KNEW. It smelled like the WEED smoking room. I went back to the front desk & got my new room. It was pretty hard giving this place a review. Lets start with the pro's. Staff seems great so far. The place is nice. Theres a business center, fitness center as well. There's an outdoor pool area but obviously its closed. Way too cold for that. The room itself is great. But the bed is not so comfy. The room does have a mini fridge but than it has its down side because no microwave is included. I didnt see a microwave downstairs either. Which was upsetting because I intentionally ordered extra dinner my first night here thinking I can warm it up the next day, yeah not happening. I had to throw out the extra away. For some reason, my first night here. When I took a shower, the water filled up about half way in the tub and didn't clear until the following morning. Not only that but for some reason the water smells as well. I had to purchase some scented plug ins along with some Lysol spray to be able to deal with it. The AC as well doesn't stay cold all night which wakes me up in the middle of the night to mess with it until it turns back on. I do love that there is a couch in the room as well so I can sit on the couch while I watch TV or sit at the work desk while I'm on my laptop. read more

Overall the hotel met my needs. I would recommend this as a one night stay hotel it's perfect for travelers who are flying in and out. When online it reads Hampton Inn by the Airport it seems literally at the airport. I was directed to the one restaurant in the area other than McDonalds and it's the restaurant in the Hilton Garden Inn next door. A car or a shuttle is needed to find anything else. Avoid this Hampton Inn. When I arrived at 5 pm both of the rooms assigned to me were not cleaned yet. The beds were stripped with linen all over. My eventual room was clean but dated. The hvac worked but in the summer heat could struggle. For seniors be very careful because the carpets especially near the elevators are torn and curled creating tripping hazards. The overnight staff is not a nice person. She is grumpy and short. The only good thing was that at 4 am the coffee was hot and fresh as you'd expect in an airport property. The airport shuttle took longer than promised to arrive for the short ride to the terminal so plan accordingly. You have other choices here. Maybe try Marriott! read more

Decided to stay at this location since my flight was at 7:30a. Dropped off my car rental around midnight and called the front desk to get on the shuttle. This location is directly across the street so they came super quick. Left the hotel at 4:30a and that shuttle was ready to get us quick as well. Shower pressure was meh and the tub drained slowly. Only disappointment was they did not have the chips that were on display in their free case. That's a first world problem but easily remedied by removing the sample out of the case. Room was clean and room was quiet. The reception chair needs to get replaced. Not a good look. read more

Staying here at this Hampton Inn by Hilton was simply amazing. Taylor, Pablo and the staff including the house cleaning were super hospitable and courteous. Everything was so clean, I felt comfortable and safe at the same time. There is a lot of parking available with awesome views of the runway at John Glenn airport and that is really cool. What is also awesome is that you don't hear a lot of noise in your room, the soundproofing is incredible. No matter what time of day or night it is nice to see the Beauty of aircraft taking off and landing. It is truly a sight to see. I was given my scheduled room after a long trip only to open the door to a bare mattress with no linens. Room #2 smelled like wet dog and there were shoe prints on the fitted sheet like someone had been jumping up & down on the bed. Room#3 the bed frame sounded like it was going to collapse any minute and the pillows smelled like sweat. Im not a 'Karen', I'm appreciative and courteous but this was ridiculous. This property is in serious need of a total upgrade. My room appeared clean. The hallways are dark and the carpets are filthy. The restaurant area is not as bright and shiny as the pictures depict. At check-in time there was no one at the front desk and I had to wait a while, apparently they had only one person working the desk. If you're looking for a hotel as close to the Columbus airport, this is the place. It's great if you have an early flight, just hop on the shuttle bus and within minutes you'll be at the airport entrance. Check-in was a breeze, staff were nice and the rooms were spacious and clean. The a/c is cold, but louder than most hotels. It's nothing to worry about though. The bathroom was big with tons of counter space and the basic amenities. There is no restaurant or bar in this hotel, so if you arrive late, I would suggest getting food elsewhere first or eat the hotel restaurant next door or Mcdonalds across the street. Pleasantly surprised with the changes made to the facility since our last stay. They have really invested in the property, and it shows! The rooms were refreshed, and the bathrooms were completely redone - I was shocked at how nice the bathrooms were in the rooms now. Overall, you can not beat the price when booking for park and go at the airport. I'd say this property is a very good value for the quality of the accommodations now. This hotel is located on airport property with very quick and easy (1 minute van ride) to the airport terminal. The location is within 10 minutes of Easton Mall, and 15 minutes from downtown. What sets this hotel apart from the rest, however, is the front desk staff. Aaron, Zach, and Jake stand out as having great personalities and an over abundance of hospitality and I always look forward to seeing them when I'm at the hotel. Overall, my stay at the Hampton Inn was very good. The rooms were very clean, fitness center was nice, and continental breakfast was good. Only bad thing about the Hampton Inn was there are no microwaves and Refrigerators in the rooms. The impeccable staff is what stood out the most. From the moment my colleagues and I walked through the doors we were very much impressed with Troy's hospitality and promptness at the front desk. He really want above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. This was our first time in Columbus so we weren't familiar with the area. He recommended a place nearby for us to shop and eat. In addition he arranged the shuttle for us to get picked up and dropped off. As flight attendants, we stay at several hotels on a regular basis and so we really appreciate the enormity of attentiveness given to us. read more

This Hampton Inn is to be avoided strictly for mgt. failings. I was booked for one night for after the OH safety conference. The show was cancelled due to Covid19 and I was within the 48 hour window to cancel and This mgt would not provide a refund or let me cancel. They chose to book me for the one night, "too bad Mr. customer we don't care" Within 2 days Hilton put out policy saying cancellations within 48 hours would be allowed in 24 hours, still nothing from this mgt. A world wide pandemic does not matter to this Gouging money hungry mgt. This is a property decision and they decided to not refund, Homewood suites let me cancel for same reasons for 2 nights no questions asked, another Hilton Property, Again Columbus Airport Hampton Inn DECIDED TO SCREW ME! Hilton could do nothing about it. This shows the Character of Pablo the manager and his manager, Screw the customer for one night stay! Do not go here, Stay away, Character matters, Customer service matters, being human matters, and this does not exist here. Stayed here two nights while traveling to Columbus for work. If you NEED to be near the airport it's great but otherwise I would recommend looking at hotels in other neighborhoods. I am extremely disappointed in this hotel and the lack of response as promised by Hampton by Hilton. The room smelled like stale cigarettes, they overcharged us when we were initially given the group rate. This is clearly an effort to get more money thinking we would not notice the additional cost. After lodging a complaint we were told we would have a response to our complaint within 72 hours. We are now on day 4 with no response. read more

Another reason for noise at an airport hotel. Try a slumber party for 8 seven year old girls celebrating the "Princess'" birthday!!! Happy Birthday screaming at 9 pm wasn't as thrilling as the midnite screams accompanied by mother's "shhhhhh" as was the 3:30 am bouncing on beds, little girl's screams with slamming doors. Multiple calls to the front desk with responses of "I was just up there" and "housekeeping" knocking on the party room door ignited rounds of "giggles" and more mother's "shhhh, crabby people called the hotel manager on us already". Awakened by jet engines at midnight is my bad but the 7 yr old slumber party booked on a floor with traveling guests is the hotels. I would have preferred getting some sleep before having to catch an early flight. read more

This hotel is more than adequate. The same young man who checked us in a week ago (9/4) on our way to Seattle checked us in again on the way home. (9/11). He's very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in room 201 the 2nd time, and the room was clean. No problems at all. The internet was very slow but picked up speed around mdt. Plenty of hot water. Firm bed both nights. I stayed at the Hampton Inn for a volleyball event at the Greater Convention Center in town and I thought this hotel was great. There was free breakfast, it was very clean and I slept very well. My only problem was that their pool was an outdoor pool, and when I stayed it was February. My family, friends and I had permission to use that Hiltons pool next door but again, it was February with single digit temperatures and walking back from being wet is torture. Not to write two reviews in one but the Hiltons pool is very small. I think the Hampton should invest in an indoor pool, a lot of the time that's the one thing the players look for when their parents book hotels, it also can be used all year unlike the outdoor pool only used in the summer... so we won't have to run back with frozen hair. It's always good to be able to swim after a long day playing OR watching (: Other than the pool it was a very welcoming and comfortable stay. read more
