Breakfast was very good also with eggs, bacon, home fries, fresh fruit, make your own waffles, etc. However the hotel feels dated even though my room had undergone a partial renovation with the bathroom and flooring. The showerhead could stand to be replaced and bathtub caulked where mold is taking hold. Part of the floor still had carpet and felt damp when walking on it. If I could give this location a -15, I would. Recently, my son and I visited the Dickson, TN area for his friend's wedding. On the third day of our planned four-day stay, the hotel owner decided he had the "right" to enter our room while we were sleeping and despite a 'Do Not Disturb' tag hanging on our room's door. The only thing that prevented the door from fully opening was the interior safety door latch. I immediately jumped up to see who was trying to enter our room and met the hotel owner and his entire entourage. The reason given - to measure for new curtains. After I gave him and the rest of his team an earful, I started packing and we checked out and left that same day. The front-desk manager even told me that everyone warned the owner not to proceed with his plans. We had to scramble to find another hotel since we had prepaid plans for an event that same evening. After our trip was completed, I made NUMEROUS calls and even sent an email to the hotel's General Manager and never heard from anyone. In fact, the front desk staff did NOTHING to put me in touch with the General Manager and told me to keep leaving voicemails - which all fell on deaf ears. I eventually took my complaints to Hilton Corporate Executive Guest Relations. They weren't much better. They seemed to force the hotel's hand in making them send me a form apology letter. The letter did not address any of my complaints or requests and was very insincere. In the end, the hotel did refund back one night of my stay and after three weeks of working with Hilton Corp via email, they will be refunding via a mailed check for another night. The token refund by Hilton is, in my opinion, too little too late. Meaning, I had to FIGHT for everything from Hilton Corp and to this day I have yet to hear anything from the hotel owner or the General Manager. Here is the takeaway. In my opinion and experience, Hilton Corp is nothing more than a money front, a toothless tiger. Their loyalty lies with their properties and not with their guests. I say that because if they truly cared about what happened to one of their guests, then all of this would have been handled much differently and much better and not have required me to go back and forth with a Corp POC for 15 days and be told that this rule was followed and this situation does not apply due to this policy. Instead, be like Sears used to be - 'Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back'. In my case, I never received the satisfaction I expected from a very wrong action by the hotel owner and his staff. Another word to the wise. Today's hotels all sport the famous business names that we all know, but keep in mind they are all independently owned and operated. With that being the case, if you have a problem and cannot get it resolved by the hotel leadership (or in my case the problem was caused by the hotel leadership), then you will have to fight with their "Corporate" people and perhaps receive the same disappointment that I have experienced. Truly sad to see our country's businesses being bought by people who do not support and believe in the American values that we all have grown up in and come to expect. Instead, we are all just a dollar amount and no one really cares what you go through or don't get as a result of an illegal room entry or other caused infraction. For me, I will NEVER stay at another Hilton-branded hotel EVER again. Not worth the potential heartache and fruitless fight. read more

Although I prefer to stay at slightly higher end hotel properties like Hilton Garden Inn and Doubletrees, this Hampton Inn reminded me of what a great value this hotel chain can be. Front office staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and modern. Beds and pillows were comfy, clean and warm. The gym was pretty good. Breakfast was the consistent breakfast you get at Hampton Inn. I find most Hampton Inns to be very consistent in that they are not old dated hotels, nothing fancy but it's clean and quiet which is perfect for my needs. read more

I always enjoy staying at Hampton when I travel. I normally wouldn't be traveling out-of-state during a pandemic but this trip was due to yet another Uncle's death. I had to be there. Parking wasn't an issue and the lots are well lite. The Clerk was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. He even went as far as to come to my room and re-sync the T.V. to the cable box. The T.V. is a must have for me and he avoided the need to change rooms. The king size bed was extremely comforable (no bugs or spiders) plus the room was already set at a cool sleeping temperature. The room had a cozy sofa plus a large desk and work area. I love having a fridge and microwave for leftovers, medicine and my beverages. The bathroom was spotless stocked with bath products, blow dryer and towels. The shower water pressure was terrific and the water was hot quickly. This Hampton is one of the few still serving guests a hot breakfast (6a - 9a). The breakfast area had tables spaced appropriately and everyone spaced themselves at the large breakfast island. The doorway to the breakfast bar had a table across the entrance with a menu to select from. The woman taking the orders was very personable and made each guest feel welcomed. Once you selected your breakfast she dished from the chafers and prepared all, then hand delivered to you. Masks and gloves were worn at all times. I had the scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, danish, juices, boiled eggs and more was offered. Coffee was self-serve in the lobby conveniently located at the breakfast area entrance. I so appreciated having coffee as the last Hampton I stayed at couldn't offer coffee (coffee pot in rooms) nor a hot breakfast. I didn't use the pool or the gym so I can't speak to those areas or if they were even open during the pandemic. This Hampton Inn was an unexpected surprise. After a long day of travel we were pleasantly surprised to be greeted warmly, in a very clean hotel, by a kind front desk person. Our room was a spotless and spacious first floor King. Our dog was welcome which is always a necessity. The bedding was pristine as well as the bathroom. This one night stay was perfect. The breakfast western omelet was delicious. There were waffles, sausage, cereal, muffins and potatoes available. The presentation was nice and ready to enjoy. The only suggestion we have, would be to have a receptacle for dog waste with bags provided otherwise this was a 5 star stay in Dickson, Tennessee ! Thank you, Hampton Inn by Hilton! read more

Only stayed here for one night, but I wish I could've stayed longer. This was a beautiful hotel. Define has had tons of upgrades including plugs everywhere, a plush pillow top bed, areas to read and work, and a sleek and clean bathroom. All of this and more made for such an amazing and comfortable stay! Also, the staff were super nice and accommodating. I took full advantage of their free breakfast, which had oatmeal, scrambled eggs with ham, potatoes, yogurt, and to go smoothies! Wow! Quiet, peaceful, close to the highway. What more could you expect? Well, a reasonable price would be a bonus. The Hampton's price is nearly three times that of the "budget" hotels that have lit up signs, but I guess you're paying for the extra quality of a known brand when you stay here. Free wifi worked well, especially as I wanted to connect my laptop and my iPhone. (Many places only allow one device.) Plenty of well-lit parking, even with the two people pulling trailers that took up five spaces each. Room was nice and the bed was comfy. Breakfast in the morning was a very good spread and it got me up and out and back on the road with a minimum of fuss. If you're passing through Dickson, consider making the Hampton your rest stop. read more

Diamond in the Rough! Just when you think there is nothing around, you find Dickson, Tennessee and their Hampton Inn. Driving south and just outside of Nashville on the way to Memphis in early August 2018. Dickson is a great stop, as they have restaurants and many hotels. This location is also right off the highway, so it is convenient, and walking distance to several casual dining locations. We stayed at the Hampton both directions and really enjoyed it. Although they do not have a restaurant or bar on site, there are many in the area. This location is safe, very clean, friendly, and serve a great little complimentary breakfast with eggs, meat, waffles, oatmeal, pastries, potatoes, etc. The rooms are very clean, updated, and provides everything you need for your quick stay. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Provided great recommendations for dinner in the downtown Dickson area as well. This location has a nice indoor pool, work-out room, plenty of parking, and a safe stop/area for your family to rest for the night. Definitely our go to spot when in the area. read more

Horrible, unfriendly and untrained staff. We had a reservation and after 12 hours of traveling we were treated with horrible service. They gave us an awful room and when we said something he corrected us to say it was the second worse room. When I asked for a different room he said there were no rooms left at our price point and would do nothing to help. He would not contact the manager over something so "trivial". He refused to apologize and asked us to leave the hotel. I reached out to the assistant general manager who stood by this employee and also refused to apologize. After 20 minutes I said I would call corporate and he finally apologized. I have stayed at many Hampton inns and have never received such poor service. I've been here twice this year, first time in June and the second time at the end of October. Me and my mother always come down to dickson from Indianapolis to go to my niece's sports games and lately we've been going here. The staff is super friendly especially the 2 younger men at the service desk. And our hotel room is always super clean. The whole hotel is spotless actually. They have everything you'd expect at a Hampton. Definitely would recommend if youre looking for a place to stay in Dickson for a few days. We went to a cheaper motel (days inn) our first trip and when we went into our room, the beds were crawling with bed bugs so we always make sure to go to the hampton now even if it is a little extra $$. My guide dog was not in his vest and was just on a leash to go out and potty. We couldn't get back in with our key so a male employee had to open the door. My dog jumped forward, did not jump on him, and the man found it important to say, "service animals don't usually jump on people." This didn't go well and while my dog is still training, he didn't do anything wrong. It was unnecessary, and rude. I am a premium diamond member and never have I been made to feel bad by an employee. This hotel has breakfast- cereal, muffins, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit.The pool was clean and fresh towels were available so you didnt have to schlep them down from your room. There was also signage in the hotel room to notify guests that they had made improvements to make their staff more enjoyable- the sheets were soft, fluffy feather pillows and a comfy king size bed made for a good nights sleep. Wi-fi was easy to access and there were plenty of plugs around the room to plug your laptop in. Overall a good hotel. read more

I can't say much for this Hampton. I used to like it, would get upgraded etc, but last few times, get a basic room. (Diamond members should get better). What really frosts me is not only do I get a crappy room, I don't get my "diamond benefits" (3rd time straight0. Breakfast was not up to Hampton standards, what was there was fine. Wonderful swimming pool etc. but didn't open until 9 a.m. I normally stay here on a regular basis, but I think I'll try somewhere else next time. I agree mattresses appeared to be someone lumpy. The staff at this location delivers 5 star service. I'm traveling with my daughter who's currently in a wheelchair and the manager offered to go and pick up food for us, if necessary. They have been extremely accommodating and care about the quality of our stay. My only nitpicks are that we were put into a room with a bathtub that my daughter couldn't use. There is only one room in the hotel with a handicap shower. I saw a gentleman leave the room before we finally got moved to it and he was able bodied. I understand that it's not the hotel's fault that people who don't require handicap facilities insist on them, so I'm not faulting the hotel. As a traveler, you should offer the handicap room to someone who needs it if you don't. When we changed rooms, there were no bars in front of the bathroom sink for my daughter to hold herself up, like in the less accessible room, so it felt like a trade off. Also, in the first room there were dead gnats all over the bathroom sink and the sink wasn't cleaned. Luckily I brought a large tub of lysol wipes. The second room was much cleaner, but the refrigerator froze our food. Neither room was perfect, but I've seen much worse in my travels. I've never seen such a 5 star staff, who knows your name every time you approach the desk. Last but not least, their fitness facility deserves applause. They have a workout room with a sauna and a heated pool and hot tub complete with handicap chair lifts. That's the first time I've seen chair lifts at a hotel. It's wonderful!! read more

We stopped through here driving from TX to PA. It's a relatively nice hotel, and cheaper than the similar hotels in Nashville. We were driving a Penske truck and our fear was being able to park it in the parking lot, but it wasn't super packed and we found a spot to park it. Another reason I like Hampton is they provide breakfast. I made my own waffle and had 2 hard boiled eggs. The OJ tasted like colored water (yucky). I stuck with coffee because of that. If you want something not free they have a Cracker Barrel around the corner and Waffle House down the way . The convenient location is pretty nice. The rooms were comfortable and the shower worked just fine. It is a pretty Hampton Inn. The staff was nice and accommodating as well. I would stay here again! read more

Our experience from arrival to departure during our 4 night stay at the Hampton Inn in Dickson,TN was outstanding! Our king bed room was a great size. The bathroom was clean and well designed, except for the pull-out drawers under the sink - only one side pulled out. The mattress was very comfortable and the linens were just the right weight for the weather (we were there during a week of extreme cold with temps at night going down into single digits!). We used the gym a couple of times; the equipment was very high quality. The housekeeping staff was phenomenal - extremely thorough! The breakfast area was staffed by two people -- they kept all of the food items replenished, the area clean and the best part was the make your own waffles!! The only suggestion I have is that the hotel move the instructions for the waffle maker so it is above the machine instead of below it. I also need to mention how helpful and pleasant the front desk staff was. We were scouting the area to see if it is a contender for retirement relocation. They were full of information about areas to check out and those that we should avoid and why! Loved the coffee, hot chocolate and cookies that were in the lobby all day long! We would definitely stay there again if a trip brings us to that area. read more

He was very peppy for as late as it was and he seemed to enjoy his job. The rooms were very clean and we slept like babies. We drove almost 7 hours to Nashville for a wedding. We went to check in to our hotel, paying almost entirely with rewards points. When we went to pay the CC deposit, it wouldn't work. Turned out we had some credit card fraud with Microsoft which couldn't be immediately resolved on a Friday night. The hotel turned us away, even though we offered to pay the deposit in cash and WE ARE REWARDS MEMBERS. We ended up having to turn around and come back home without even going to the wedding. read more

We stayed 3 nights at this Hampton Inn while visiting family & friends in November. We usually look for a Hampton for a good stay with nice amenities and reasonable price (Honors member + AAA discount, included free breakfast.) A good experience, especially in an area away from the big cities. Easy access location right near the freeway. Very quiet! lots of parking. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Free bottled waters were offered up every time we stopped by. There is a free coffee & hot tea cart setup available all the time across from the front desk, another useful feature... and the coffee was excellent. Points for Hampton! As with most Hamptons, the beds were very comfortable (opted for 2 Queens), with nice linens and comforters. 4 pillows per bed offers a choice of soft to firm. Bathroom has Neutrogena products that are great (I don't like scented soaps!) Plenty of soft bath towels. They could use more places to hang towels etc in the bathroom, though. Shower head was good. The room was a decent size, with a built in desk area that included places to plug in the laptop and iPhones. WiFi was slow/sluggish . The office-type chair for it was uncomfortable but adequate for short use. Weirdly, the room did not have any other chairs - usually there is an armchair or comfy overstuffed chair with a lamp. If you want to sit in the room, the beds are your option. Fridge and microwave in the room if you need them. We didn't make it downstairs for the free breakfast, so can't comment on that. However, there is a Cracker Barrel restaurant next to the Hampton Inn - so it's easy to get breakfast or other food there. We did have an issue with lady bugs in the room (and elsewhere in the hotel). We were told it's an annual invasion in the area and nothing to be done about it. Overall, a nice stay and we will definitely book here again when we return! read more

After 10 days and nights on the road, all of which were spent in Hampton Inns, my group had the misfortune of ending our trip at this sad establishment. From the moment we checked in, the family-like atmosphere that we have come to expect and enjoy from this chain were nowhere to be seen. There were no warm cookies (every other Hampton has welcomed us with warm cookies) and the attendant at the counter acted surprised when we didn't want to adhere to their "policy" of parking our bus elsewhere, an issue of which we had not been previously warned. Further, this ridiculous policy is neither posted in their parking lot or on their website. Finally, I found the general cleanliness of the facility to be questionable. I have posted pictures of large wall splatters of unknown origin. In summary, if you are traveling in a group, enjoy being treated with respect, and/or enjoy a hygienic environment, you would be better served spending your money elsewhere. read more

This hotel is not a very clean environment and you definitely are not getting your money's worth. We visit Dickson about once or twice a month as my boyfriend has family there. We have stayed at several hotels off exit 172, but this was by far the best. Easy check-in and check-out. Fridge and microwave in room. The rooms are spacious. I usually don't use hotel soap but they had Neutrogena, which was awesome. The beds were what really did it for me though. By far the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept on. Also, we are military and they have military rates for 15% off regular price with your id, so that was huge plus. They have free breakfast, but we didn't try it. We will stay here again. read more

Do not stay at this dump of a hotel. I use the term hotel very loosely because of the hotel conditions and behavior of the management! This Hampton Inn, in Dickson, Tennessee, is run by complete savages and I recommend you using your money to stay in an actual hotel, not a run down zoo run by wild animals. The rooms and hallways were absolutely horrendous! They reeked of an odor combined of sour mildew, garbage, and stale cleaning supplies. The bathrooms were disgusting as well. The linens looked worn and the bathtub had hair and black particles in the tub. Just yuck!! The hotel management lacked the ability to not only efficiently communicate with our group but also the ability to have constructive dialogue. We payed money to feel safe and valued. This did not happen. We did not feel safe and valued as guests because the hotel management did not uphold their core values of integrity, hospitality, and teamwork. Rather they acted like immature children and wild animals. We had to call the police because we felt so unsafe and unhappy! The management was so rude that our group wanted to leave! Anytime guests would rather leave than stay in a place, it speaks volume about the type of hotel management is running as well as the type of environment this hotel is creating. My heart breaks because no person should ever pay money to feel inferior, not valued, and unhappy. This was the feeling of all the students and teachers. P.S. The rest of the employees at Hampton Inn were very kind and considerate. The nice lady that cooked our breakfast spoke very kindly to us. QOTD: A little niceness goes a long way. We stopped in after riding a motorcycle 14 hours. We were exhausted. The little guy behind the counter said he couldn't give any kind of discounts "because it was peak season". My husband is a Hilton honors member. We asked for the government rate. Nope. There was a lady in the lobby on the phone with Hotwire. She had booked through them and he wouldn't honor her reservation. He acted like he didn't care if he rented rooms or not. We left and went down the street to Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriot and were treated very kindly and with respect. The room rate there was $75 cheaper than what we were quoted at the Hampton Inn. The rooms were so nice and the service there was great. The guy at the Hampton Inn was condescending and rude. Would not recommend this hotel. read more

If you are passing through town and looking for a quick stop to stay I implore you to look somewhere else. The management is horrible, the hotel faintly smells of cigarettes, and the walls and ceiling are grossly stained. Absolutely horrific. If I could give less than one star I would. The hotel knew of our large groups and arrival time weeks in advance yet refused to have our bus park in the lot. Instead of conpromising, they refused to speak with us to resolve the situation. The managers were absolutely nasty and completely refused to cooperate with others. After this event, the childish management stomped around the hotel complaining about our "immaturity" to other guests and faculty all while giving my group glares and scowls. This type of childish behavior is in no way acceptable and no such person is fit to run any kind of establishment. I will not stay here again and I reccomend that others do not as well. read more
