Absolutely HORRIBLE experience…read more I showed up one night in freezing temps at around 1 am in the morning. I understand I showed up late and that's completely on me. I get that and accept that. The part I don't get is the room conditions. 1-Moldy ceilings 2-Chipped or completely botched paint 3-Broken trimming 4-Cigarette Holes in blankets But the most egregious of this is the wall heater units NOT WORKING!!!!!!! Yes, NOT WORKING!!! When I first checked into the room the desk person told me that it "just takes a while" and "it's 4 degrees out". I waited 20 minutes and still the wall unit, although set to 86 was only emitting luke warm air barely any heat at all. So she moved me to another room. Turned the heater on in THAT room. Waited an HOUR and still NO HEAT and only luke warm air being blown out. Again I called the front desk. I explained that the heater seems force set to a specific temperature. I asked if there was a separate thermostat sensor somewhere where THEY control the heat despite how high the room occupants set them and she said no. She then again used the "It's 4 degrees out, you're probably not gon.." so I cut her off and explained that I stayed in a hotel in Oklahoma the previous night with identical weather conditions and that indoor heater worked amazingly. Her answer was " well, you can check out and I can refund you". Great, so at that point it's 4 am in the morning, I had been driving for 15 hours and she's telling me I can check out? But wait, there's more. The lobby stunk of cigarettes day in and day out, because this same desk person smoked out by the door where the smoke wafted right back into the lobby and filled the entire lobby with cigarette smoke. If it wasn't so damn late I definitely would have checked out and gone else where. Needless to say this place is black listed from any future involvement of mine while traveling. In fact Dickson isn't much of anything but a hole in the wall no where town in bumphuck Tennesee anywhere. Nothin to see in Tenneseee! Accept the superstacks on my way in kingston!
