Giving this place 5 stars because of the staff! The staff was so nice & accommodating. I first met Ricky who checked me in and changed my reservation so that I could be on the same floor as my family. Came here for a party, our first time in Virginia. We were welcomed with hot coffee, water & snacks -- so sweet! We were woken up a at about 1:30am to a fire alarm going off & the hotel being evacuated because someone was smoking in a room. That was so scary, (a first for me & my entire family). We didn't know at the time that it was because someone was smoking but we did learn it afterwards and also learned that the people were asked to leave. It was hard for everyone to go back to sleep but we eventually did. Woke up the next day to a nice breakfast & a friendly checkout. I would definitely book this hotel again. Thank you!

After 4 hours drive I finally checkin Hotel lobby and elevator is very clean right of the back. Room was perfect and cozy. Great sleep for a big day

The room was not the cleanest. I already don't like staying in hotels, so stains all over the place made me feel disgusted even more. It was pretty quiet. The front desk staff was pretty friendly. There is a fridge and microwave in the room for you to use. It is close to the Town Center in Hampton that has many, many shoppes and restaurants to meet your needs. I probably wouldn't go back just because of the stains on the furniture in my room though. They definitely need to deep clean that place. I don't even want to imagine what those stains are.

One of the nicer Hampton Inns, featuring amenities other ones lack - a vanity kit in the bathroom containing cotton swabs and cotton balls, fridge and microwave in every room, two waffle makers in the breakfast nook (instead of the usual single unit), and three hot breakfast entrees instead of the usual two. Hotel is convenient to stores, restaurants, a hospital, and cemetery, and the Coliseum and Convention Center are less than 10 mins away. Unfortunately, so are two airports, whose jets we heard late into the evening - ask for an even-numbered room if you're sensitive to noise!

This hotel is in the perfect quiet location. It's directly across the street from a hospital but you would only know it if you saw it. You do not hear any emergency vehicles, noise or commotion. This hotel has a very nice parking lot, a nice open lobby that spoils you w fresh cookies in ther evening and a friendly guest services representative to greet you upon entering. There's an open & well decorated dining area, gym, pool & laundry amenities as well. Another bonus of the hotel is of course the free breakfast. Now, let me discuss the rooms with you... I like to the start by saying overall all the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. Additional cleaning would compliment this hotel more. Our wall lamp shade was dirty, the wall had minor splashes of something on it and someone's disposable floss pick was on the floor by bedding in plain eye's view. Nothing listed is a deal breaker and I'd definitely stay again when/ if the opportunity presents itself.

We just came home from staying at this hotel for 13 nights. Our room was clean and the breakfast area was pretty. We liked that we were able to get coffee/tea/hot water anytime. We actually used the exercise room of this place as it was also pretty clean and well maintained. During our stay here, we could see the staff continuously maintaining the place such as repainting doors and pavement along with mopping the floors and cleaning other places. The Wifi was great too as it was trouble free during entire stay.

Worst customer service ever, asked for a receipt and the lady hung up on me. I would rather stay in a cardboard box than stay at this hotel.

When I have tried to extend at other Hilton locations, I was not allowed to stay in the room unless it was available. So apparently this rule is not applied equally. They did get us a room on my requested floor after speaking with the manager and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. That night we went to the bar for a beverage. The bartender was most unpleasant with a frown on her face the whole time. My old-fashioned was subpar. The next morning when we got up and was going to fix coffee in the room. We discovered there was only tea and hot chocolate for the Keurig maker in the room. One of the lightbulbs was out in the shower. The ironing board was old would fall down if someone was not holding it. When we checked in, we requested a late checkout time yet at 11 o'clock on the day of checkout we had a housekeeping person knock on the door and we had to tell them we had a late checkout.

We wanted to be in between Williamsburg for Busch Gardens & Va beach for the aquarium. CONS: I had to take a point away for the neighborhood itself. I wouldn't say it's dangerous per se, but it's seedy with a handful amount of questionable characters. I'm surprised I didn't any one reviewing on that. There is a newly constructed walkway that cuts the trip time. The bar has specials throughout the week and there is a brewery right across the walkway. Service throughout the hotel was great, the front desk, bar, cleaning staff. There was usually water out in the lobby, which was nice. At times the trash overflowed or the ice wasn't replenished. But also there was one time when there was citrus water, cucumber water and lemonade out for guests, all at once. I thought that was very thoughtful. I overheard the staff interacting very positively with each other, thanking one another for their help/support. That was great to see. Our room was clean and spacious. AC definitely worked (which I loved, hubs not so much.) Nice big windows and the curtains blocked out most of the light, just not along the top of the windows. No flashing smoke detector, which is a peeve of mine. Speaking of peeves, the bathroom is beautiful. However, I hate that these hotels have taken on these barn doors. I would like to simply close and secure my door. This was worse bc it was a double door, loud and clunky. This led to unnecessary noise at night. Often times, I'd slide the 2 doors together, turn around and one would slide right back open. And no matter what I did, the doors wouldn't close all the way. I included a photo. Moving on, the shower was huge with a double shower head AND a closing shower door. However, the water pressure was very poor. Same goes for the toilet. It would, at times, take several flushes to clear the toilet. TMI, but hey... You've read this far. Lastly, the towels leave little white fibers behind which was a nuisance as well. Overall, the things I mentioned were annoying... But wouldn't keep me from coming back. At least I know what I'm in for next time.

Pros: * beautiful space -- the lobby is well appointed, contemporary, and bright; the rooms, while identical, also have an elegant, modern feel to them * the floor to ceiling bay windows make even a street-facing room feel elevated * Great location with a beautiful water view * friendly, helpful staff Cons: * the upkeep is poor -- throughout the hotel, you can see significant signs of wear and tear (peeling paint, torn or stained bedsheets, etc.); daily room cleaning may not refill used coffee, bath towels; * more significant than everyday upkeeps are the major broken infrastructures: only one out of three elevator is working, and it is extremely slow. Despite this hiccup, the hotel insists that everyone take the elevator rather than using the stairs (reserved for fire emergency only); the pool seems to be out-of-service this season as well. * some design flaws -- the bathroom's double barn doors seem like a particularly poor choice -- functionally, they're bad at keeping privacy because there is often a gap right in the middle unless you close the doors super carefully; aesthetically, they will seem outdated before long. Every room has a spacious "mudroom"-like entry -- this seems like a waste of space. The rooms do not have any sort of desk space -- the cabinet is too high, the night stand is too low. * bad water pressure and poor water temperature control * very loud AC (if it's working at all -- when we arrived, it was blowing warm air, but the front desk was able to send a maintenance guy to come fix it for us). * no in-hotel coin-op laundry * no breakfast (as compared to Hilton's Hampton Inn line) Mediocre: * The restaurant is fine. The front desk assistant was less than helpful and uninterested in my current state and there was no sense of urgency in assisting. We left and returned at 4p for check in and were met with a long line of customers attempting the check in, but rooms still weren't ready and the front desk staff couldn't be bothered to try and accommodate. A customer and a member of staff began quarreling over the lack of respect the staff was showing and the manager had to get involved. We then checked in and were placed at the top floor as the manager wanted to accommodate my pregnancy and rest with less noise and traffic, which I greatly appreciated. The room was sufficient in providing a kitchenette area, a desk, drawers, closet, and a comfy bed. The bathroom had no ventilation, making showering a very humid and gross. I did appreciate the cleaning staff as they were all friendly and quick to assist with anything needed. Also, the laundry and dryer services are featured as a commodity of your stay, so that was also nice to expedite laundry. There was a beautiful lake in the back of the hotel and a little duck family that was terribly friendly and cute. I appreciate the hotel looks after the ducks by leaving out food and water for the animals. Overall, I didn't appreciate the customer service staff as they were always lackluster in assistance and respect. The rates for this hotel would lead you to think the accommodations would match but that is false. We stayed at this location for three weeks and cut our visit short due to glaring issues. Specially, mold in the HVAC located in the room from a dirty filter that clearly hadn't been serviced in quite some time. When brought to the staffs attention, they stated after each visit, the filters are serviced. However, they couldn't deny the truth once confronted with the filter. This situation landed our toddler in the hospital since the mold in the air inflamed his respiratory system. The other issues we had are: Room Service ONLY ONCE a week- When paying $100 a night for an extended stay, this is unacceptable. They are already charging a pet fee and the cleaning they offer is subpar. We requested to borrow a mop and vacuum to do it ourselves since they don't offer ones in the rooms. The vacuum didn't work which questions what type of cleaning they actually do. We brought this up a copious amount of times and it was left unresolved by the management. Room accommodations are subpar- For the $100 rate, you get a studio and no where for an infant or toddler to sleep. On a positive note, the staff was friendly for the most part. The laundry room was spacious which is much needed. Overall, a poor experience at this hotel and would not recommend to any families looking at this location as an extended stay.

The facade of manicured groundskeeping does give the impression of a decent place to stay. However, once inside, there's a truth of why I was compelled to not stay there. I booked the stay through Expedia. My reservation was scheduled for 7/23 - 7/26. None of the pictures in the app show the reality of what the rest of the hotel looks like. I arrived at the hotel 7/23 to check in. Upon the entrance of the lobby, there was a reception desk to the far left where they are stationed. Behind the desk, there is a wall on the left that has a noticeable water stain around it at the time I was checking in. The check-in process seemed okay. The manager Tracy checked me in, handed me the keys, and advised me how to access the side door number 2 to bring in my luggage. I get a porter to gather my luggage and walk through the hotel's first floor to the side door. The corridor to the side door is to the left of the lobby desk where I checked in. Once in that short corridor, you take a left to go through the hallway to get to the side door 2. Along the way, water stains on the ceiling are prevalent with irregular patches of smooth plastering and popcorn ceiling right to the door. Both finishes were stained. There was a sprinkler that had a square hole about four inches on each side cut out in the ceiling. My skin was crawling. With the help of my cousin, I get my luggage loaded on the porter, I go back inside to go up to my room on the third floor by the elevator. Upon exiting the elevator, there's a faint musty smell in the hallway. For the segment of the hallway where my room was located there are prevalent water stains on the third floor ceiling that ran from the elevator and extended beyond my room. As soon as I opened the door my room, the musty smell in the hallway was concentrated in my assigned room. It was rank of dampness and humidity. The smell stopped me at the door. I looked back at my cousin who said, "Ain't no way." I struggled to step further into the room but did go in. The back of my throat was gagging because the smell was so repulsive. There was a sofa in the room that looked like it was picked up off the side of the road, post rain storm as it has noticeable water stains on it as well as can be seen in the pictures. I sit down on a chair that is not upholstered to call Expedia. I told them that it was not possible to sleep in that room and that I had strong concerns for my health with the condition of the hotel. I was told that the matter would be escalated and to expect to hear something by the following Monday. I had not unloaded a single thing, make my way out of the room but not before taking more pictures of the hallways. I went back to the front desk where the manager, Tracy, that checked me in was no longer there. A Lala was there and took the keys back that was witnessed by my cousin. I requested that the manager be contacted to reach out to me. Never happened. I find accommodations elsewhere. Having been told the manager would be back Saturday, 7/25, I reach back out to the hotel. She was not there. Spoke at length with another front desk clerk that went on with excuses for the condition of the hotel. I requested the manager be contacted to reach out to me. Never happened. Monday, I reach back out to Expedia about the status of the escalation to get a refund to which I was told there was none. This agent does follow through with filing an escalation on which I did receive an email on 7/29 confirming an escalation was being reviewed for resolution. I do take it upon myself to contact the hotel and finally reach Tracy, 7/31. She told me that she'd never gotten any communications from Expedia whatsoever. I circle back to Expedia 7/30 about the escalation. I tell them of Tracy saying that she never received any communication from Expedia. Expedia calls the hotel, speaks with Tracy, and Tracy declines to give a refund for a stay that never happened. I reached out to Tracy to get the correct spelling of her name to include in these glowing reviews of the quality of service, integrity, and condition of the hotel of which she was made aware. Her tone was an arrogant apathy as she has my money. She not once apologized nor offered ANY compensation of an adjustment much less a refund.
