View from front of hotel. Hotel is easy to miss since the sign is small and similar to nearby business signs.

I stayed here for 2 weeks recently. This was not my usual hotel but after I got my daily routine down, this became one of my favorites. Finding the hotel for the first time was a bit of a hassle. The building was located behind trees and the signage is small. Fortunately, the roads are easy to drive on and the highway is easily accessible. There was ample parking. The checkin process was quick and there were multiple doors to the outside such that it was easy to park close to an entrance. I was surprised on how large the bathroom was. Since there was no included breakfast, I made full use of the kitchen to cook my meals. Utensils and cookware was included but there was no sponge nor dish soap. There was a dishwasher though. The LCD TV was large and there was a good selection of HD channels. I watched a bunch of HBO shows here and even saw "Game of Thrones" for the first time. The WiFi connection was great during my stay and the free laundry facilities is a great perk. There was a plumbing issue in one of the units above me and maintenance was proactive in addressing the issue. I didn't notice it until maintenance asked to check my room for water leakage and discovered that a bit of water was going through the walls. Once the issue was resolved, it was as if it never happened. This place is pet friendly and quite a few of my neighbors on the first floor brought their dogs.

Stayed 4 nights while visiting relatives in the area. Queen bed with a small kitchen. Fridge, dishwasher, 2 burner stove, micro. Not a fan of the fridge in the room turning on in the middle of the night. "Cook's cupboard" provides free coffee 24/7, convenience foods for purchase, washers/dryers and a cardio room. DVDs and can be checked out from the desk. Free wifi and daily paper for Candlewood club members. Sign up. It was raining a bunch, but this area didn't flood. It would have been nice if the facility had a covered portico for loading unloading luggage. Close to restaurants and shopping, but tucked away in a quiet area. All in all, adequate accommodations at a reasonable price.

I will never stay anywhere else while staying in Hampton. Id like to clarify a few things. I am a traveler that likes my privacy. This place is perfect for that. Each room is like a studio apartment. Much more like home. It is hard to find because of area regulations the sign is low to the ground and there is a big electrical box blocking from view in one direction. They don't clean the rooms everyday. There is free laundry. Wifi worked great. Everything was pretty new and in good shape. People are rough on hotel rooms, so they aren't going to be 100% brand new looking for ever. For the money this is hands down the best place to stay in town.

I got bedbugs from this hotel even though it looked clean to me. I would not advise anyone stay here.

Or simply pick a different hotel. A lot of stuff could have been better and there shouldn't be any excuses of why it's not at its best state. Literally the only good thing is the staff was nice.

When I have tried to extend at other Hilton locations, I was not allowed to stay in the room unless it was available. So apparently this rule is not applied equally. They did get us a room on my requested floor after speaking with the manager and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. That night we went to the bar for a beverage. The bartender was most unpleasant with a frown on her face the whole time. My old-fashioned was subpar. The next morning when we got up and was going to fix coffee in the room. We discovered there was only tea and hot chocolate for the Keurig maker in the room. One of the lightbulbs was out in the shower. The ironing board was old would fall down if someone was not holding it. When we checked in, we requested a late checkout time yet at 11 o'clock on the day of checkout we had a housekeeping person knock on the door and we had to tell them we had a late checkout.

There is a newly constructed walkway that cuts the trip time. The bar has specials throughout the week and there is a brewery right across the walkway. Service throughout the hotel was great, the front desk, bar, cleaning staff. There was usually water out in the lobby, which was nice. At times the trash overflowed or the ice wasn't replenished. But also there was one time when there was citrus water, cucumber water and lemonade out for guests, all at once. I thought that was very thoughtful. I overheard the staff interacting very positively with each other, thanking one another for their help/support. That was great to see. Our room was clean and spacious. AC definitely worked (which I loved, hubs not so much.) Nice big windows and the curtains blocked out most of the light, just not along the top of the windows. No flashing smoke detector, which is a peeve of mine. Speaking of peeves, the bathroom is beautiful. However, I hate that these hotels have taken on these barn doors. I would like to simply close and secure my door. This was worse bc it was a double door, loud and clunky. This led to unnecessary noise at night. Often times, I'd slide the 2 doors together, turn around and one would slide right back open. And no matter what I did, the doors wouldn't close all the way. I included a photo. Moving on, the shower was huge with a double shower head AND a closing shower door. However, the water pressure was very poor. Same goes for the toilet. It would, at times, take several flushes to clear the toilet. TMI, but hey... You've read this far. Lastly, the towels leave little white fibers behind which was a nuisance as well. Overall, the things I mentioned were annoying... But wouldn't keep me from coming back. At least I know what I'm in for next time.

Pros: * beautiful space -- the lobby is well appointed, contemporary, and bright; the rooms, while identical, also have an elegant, modern feel to them * the floor to ceiling bay windows make even a street-facing room feel elevated * Great location with a beautiful water view * friendly, helpful staff Cons: * the upkeep is poor -- throughout the hotel, you can see significant signs of wear and tear (peeling paint, torn or stained bedsheets, etc.); daily room cleaning may not refill used coffee, bath towels; * more significant than everyday upkeeps are the major broken infrastructures: only one out of three elevator is working, and it is extremely slow. Despite this hiccup, the hotel insists that everyone take the elevator rather than using the stairs (reserved for fire emergency only); the pool seems to be out-of-service this season as well. * some design flaws -- the bathroom's double barn doors seem like a particularly poor choice -- functionally, they're bad at keeping privacy because there is often a gap right in the middle unless you close the doors super carefully; aesthetically, they will seem outdated before long. Every room has a spacious "mudroom"-like entry -- this seems like a waste of space. The rooms do not have any sort of desk space -- the cabinet is too high, the night stand is too low. * bad water pressure and poor water temperature control * very loud AC (if it's working at all -- when we arrived, it was blowing warm air, but the front desk was able to send a maintenance guy to come fix it for us). * no in-hotel coin-op laundry * no breakfast (as compared to Hilton's Hampton Inn line) Mediocre: * The restaurant is fine. Ok food, a bit over-priced (3 stars)
